Humans:
Name: E'iah (E-eye-ah) was Eliah
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual, preference females
Rank:Wingrider, Junior Journeyman Woodcrafter
Nicknames: Elli, Kid, Pup, Ia (eye-ah)
Birth Month: January 27 (born in the year 3000)
Physical Appearance: E'iah stands at five foot nine and a half and shows leanness in his face. No longer is it rounded with childhood. Although his posture is good and he's kicked the habbit of putting his hands in his pockets all the time, he still gives off a little amount of shyness shyness. Strawberry blonde hair hangs in his face and just barely touches his ears, but is often swept up and out of his face. Murky blue eyes peer out from under thin eyebrows, and sit on top a slightly large nose. Pale but fair skin is smattered randomly with light brown freckles, most of which are located on his arms, with a few that found their way onto his face. Skinny he may be, but Eliah has strong arm muscles. He likes to climb trees, from which he carves items from it's branches.
He prefers to wear slightly loose tunics with tighter pants, and knee high or ankle boots. Eliah's clothing usually tends to be rather plain, consisting of solid colors with at least one article clothing that is a neutral color. Despite his quiet exterior, the Candidate had the courage to get his ears pierced. Six times. Two on each ear in the cartilage, and twice in the fleshy portion on his left lobe. The Gold (cartilage), silver (lobe) and bronze (lobe) studs stand out against the color of his hair, making themselves noticeable to any one who wishes to look. He also wears a silver bracelet that looks like it could have belonged to a woman, the small black roses and their even smaller thorns that adorn it just add to that picture. Other than that, he wears a single thumb-ring on his left hand.
Personality: As he has grown older, E'iah has grown more bold and talkative than he once was. Though he still enjoys listening to people talk rather than listen to his own voice. E'iah doesn't mind stepping up to do tasks if it is asked of him or offered to a group. He likes to help people the best he can, whether its letting them unload their troubles on him or simply moving a piece of furniture that they themselves are having a hard time moving. He isn't above taking time out of his own free hours to help a drudge do his or her own work if they seemed overloaded with tasks. He loves to be around people, and usually the feeling is returned. Not much of a fighter, he prefers to avoid brawls if he can, but will not turn away from one if it is forced upon him.
E'iah is resilient to most things, including and most commonly Physical pain and injuries, with emotional pains coming in close second. He bounces back quickly, from what ever it was that had effected him, taking them in stride. Usually wearing some sort of smile. He strongly believes in fate, and because of it, that everything happens for a reason. Even if that reason isn't apparent or will never become apparent. Its hard to get his spirits down, but its entirely possible.
History: Born the youngest of three sons to a Joined couple in Hyphen, Eliah was the baby of the family. His mother (Ahari) wanted him to follow in her footsteps and become a Weaver, but his father (Elizzian) wanted all of his sons to partake in his own Craft, that of woodcarving. As time progressed the oldest son, Zaharan, took to Elizzian's craft with a vigor that equaled that of their father's. Soon after, Aharza the middle son discovered his calling as a Weaver, his fascination with their mother's work had lead to his choosing. But in all truth, their youngest son seemed interested in neither Craft, despite all the time he spent with both his father and mother while they worked. His interests, even from a young age, differed from the rest of his family. Eliah seemed fascinated with heights and the sky, spending most of his time drawing on slates in places as high as he could go. He wasn't a talkative child, which was strange because both of his brothers loved to talk and argue. Eliah was to say the least, the odd one out.
At the age of nine, the boy finally chose one of the two Crafts that his parents seemed intent on having him join. He liked weaving, but he much preferred working with wood instead of string. Mainly because it reminded him so much of the trees he liked to climb. He of course, like in everything else, did not share his elder Brother or Father's enthusiasm for the craft. He liked it, but he felt as if he was not meant to spend the rest of his life working in the shadow of his father. He became an apprentice if only to please Elizzian, and settle the apparent contest between his parents. His life at Hyphen was nothing short of boring in terms of activity, only becoming lively when news from the Weyr finally drifted down to the Hold. He had been around nine when everything started to happen. It seemed as if each year he grew older more and more things happened up at Selenitas.
Eliah knew of the War, but he hadn't expected Selenitas to ever get involved. Assassinations, poisonings, invasions... the War was so close, and yet it felt like it was so far away. Hyphen was not particularly happy with the Weyr, but when he was twelve, he traveled with a good portion of his family to Selenitas to help them rebuild after Benden's attack. It had been the first time he had ever seen Selenitas, let alone a Weyr. And despite a small part of the Weyr being destroyed, he found it to be a wondrous place. He could not see why his parents disliked the Weyr. It was gorgeous, the architecture was so unique. Treehouses! What he wouldn't give to live in a Treehouse. It would simply be amazing.
About a year later, Eliah had been whittling a canine from a scrap piece of wood when word that a Dragon had landed in the Courtyard had reached him. Leaping down from branch to branch, the Senior Apprentice dropped down to join his real canine on the Ground. He couldn't miss this chance. He called to Rishin (his Canine) to come, before taking off much like a rabbit. He wanted away from his life at Hyphen. He loved his family, and he enjoyed his Craft, but it wasn't the life for him. Taking the fastest way he knew to the Courtyard, he had to nearly wrestle his way past Zaharan, who had tried to impede him. It wasn't that the Elder Brother wanted to stop Eliah, but he had to at least say he tried. Other wise their Father would have been angry at the both of them.
By the time he arrived at the Courtyard, the Dragon and Rider were about to leave. Afraid that he would miss his chance to be looked at by the Green, to see if he was even eligible, Eliah nearly threw himself into the female Dragon's path with his arms out stretched. Rishin barking wildly as she followed him into the line of the beast. "Wait! Please, wait!" He nearly began to shake as the large Green put her head up close to him, almost touching his chest in proximity. It seemed like forever before the woman Rider slid down from her saddle to address him. Apparently, the entire time the Dragon was staring him down, the Bonded pair were having a conversation. She told him that if he wanted to become a candidate that he was to come back with her. He agreed before running off to pack his stuff. He only told his family after he had gathered his things, in case they tried to stop him. He was faster than anyone in his family if he could get a head start. But fortunately it didn't come to that. His Father and Mother disapproved of his choice, but both of his brothers supported him. At least, he supposed, his family didn't hate him.
After returning to the Courtyard, and figuring out how to bring Rishin with him, Eliah mounted the Green and was swiftly transported to Selenitas. For the first time, everything felt right. Months passed and Eliah eventually settled into the rutenes of Weyrlife. Going to Candidate lessons, doing chores, putting his Woodcrafting skills to use... he even met a few new friends. Dy'shi of Blue Chakraith, a boy younger than himself but a Weyrling nonetheless and a Dragon who color doesn't match her gender. Erilena and her Dragon Feyrianth, the small green has four wings and Darmori, a fellow candidate who has opted for Whers rather than Dragons. Though not every experience has been rainbows and butterflies. Not to long after he arrived, a few months at most, Fort Weyr attacked High Reaches. From what he heard, it had been a slaughter. Some of the Riders who had escaped the bloodbath ran to Selenitas, but because they did, Fort came to collect. Being the staunch defender of Rights that Selenitas was, the Weyrleaders refused to give the injured up and it resulted in a bloodly battle. In the end, Fort ended up loosing more dragons that day than Selenitas. Having somehow been repulsed the Fort Fighters fled when they saw the battle couldn't be won. Eliah, having had no real part in the battle, was consumed with the evacuation. He had been herded to the Hatching grounds, but even there it was not safe. Fire from a dragon's breath had set flame to the wooden railings, causing smoke and ash to be kicked up into the air. Eliah had a hard time trying to breath, him beeing more affected by the irratents in the air than the others. But fortunately for them all, all of his friends had pulled out alive.
Hepaticath rose and was caught by Ciceroth. As to be expected, a clutch of eggs was laid. People could feel the excitement in the air. Eliah nearly fell out of his bunk when the Gold called the Weyr to the hatching, nearly crushed a few of his prets as well. In his short time at Selenitas, he had aquired not one but two new pets. A Feline named Koulko and a sweet but rather ditzy Firelizard which he named Leifa. Anyway, they both had been sleeping in very inoppurtune places when he was trying to get at his robes. The sands were hot and tormenting, but in the end was worth it(sorta). A large, vibrant Blue had curled around his feet complaining. Looking at me, looking at me. They. Are. Looking. At. Mine, make them stop staring! They are all going to laugh at me. I just KNOW it! They are going to laugh at me. You will not let them laugh at your Viveth, will you, E’iahMine? YOU would never be that cruel After that, E'iah faceplanted into the sands before having to assure the Blue that he was not going to get laughed at. It was certainly the start of a rather interesting partnership.
Little did the new Weyrling know, how rough the future was going to be, Viveth is not the average Dragon. He was prone to paranoia and snarkiness. E'iah is going to have to have to work hard to not be sucked into the depressing world of his Dragon, it doesn't help that he himself has started changing. But into what he doesn't know. But Viveth is now going to be a huge part in outcome of his transformations.
It was hard at first, and maybe more than a little terrifying, getting used to being completely inside his Blue's head. The paranoia and the conspiracies threatened to overwhelm him everytime he touched upon the Dragon with anything more complex than thoughtspeach. It took the pair longer than average to be able to work together with any sense of syncronization, E'iah being the first to come up with a foundation to build on. He turned himself into Viveth's rock, a place where the Blue could find a harbor of calmness in his darkest times. It took work, and still takes work, but they have come out on top of Viveth's peculiar conditions.
E'iah turned 15 and Jingth rose, heralding a future new set of Weyrlings into the barracks. For him, it meant being bumped up to the status of a Senior Weyrling. It had been a long road, a hard one, but they'd managed to get through the first leg of their journey thus far. But, it wasn't too long after the hatching of Jingth's clutch when Selenitas was attacked once again. This time the invasion happened so quickly, that none of the Selenitas Wings were able to mobilize. By this time though, Selenitas had a back up plan. Wingleaders and Weyrlingmasters sent out coordinates for evacuation, urging everyone who could escape to do so. E'iah (not with Koulko or Rishin) and almost all of his class managed to Between from the Weyr into a clearing, in which the Legatus Wing took charge and sent them new coordinates. Once more everyone jumped, but this time ending up in very unfamiliar territory. Scared and confused, E'iah did his best to help with the candidates and weyrfolk who had managed to hitch rides on Dragons. If they went back, they'd be killed. If they stayed here, they could be killed. What were they going to do?
It was almost unbelievable when the Legatus Wing, opperating on pure luck alone, managed to find a long forgotten Weyr, hidden deep within the jungle. Not only was it under the cover of the canopy, but most of it was subterranian. Dragons and people alike quickly moved into what would be their new home, not knowing if they could ever go back to Selenitas. E'iah, being trained in Woodcrafting, found himself busy helping fortify the caverns with beamwork. From then on it was a battle of survival. Yes, Blossom Hold was able to send them supplies, but that alone could not feed and support the populus of Burimyu. The Council of Three made sure to address all the needs of the dragons and people, making rules and disbanding them as was needed for the new environment.
Soon after E'iah turned 16, he was chosen for a small contingent of riders to help steal Selenitas's tithes from the Holds in which they originated. Although the young teenager wasn't terribly keen on violence, he was forced to knock a holder silly when the man attacked one of his fellow Wingmates. They managed to get away mostly scotchfree from their little escapade, everyone hauled supplies back to Burimyu that day. It was funny though, how easy it had become to be exiles. Where they really now little more than brigands and bandits? They could even now impress to these rather intimidating birds called Razorclaws. Life moved on. Things were going well until the stircrazy residents of Burimyu decided to go to the Hyphen gather. E'iah hadn't gone, but from the stories the other rider's who had managed to escape... he knew that they'd lost some good people to the Wastelander regime.
Jingth rose and was caught by Chaoth, she clutched and E'iah watched as a new generation Impressed. He clapped and congradulated with the rest of them, but he never really felt happy about it all. He couldn't look to the future like the other Riders, seeing these Weyrlings as a possible key back to their home. Time passed. E'iah couldn't recall how long it had been since the hatching after Meira was killed but it didn't matter. Something had broken into the records room through another entrance, and attacked the Goldrider who was heading the investigation party. E'iah only heard of it off hand, but what he had managed to piece together did not settle nicely in his stomach. There was something dangerous out there... and no one knew what it was...
3017-3019
Earthquakes, Weyrs rejoining, bird monster attacks... '17 and '18 were eventful years to be sure. As a Burimyuan, he helped transfer everyone from old Selenitas to New Selenitas, making sure they were protected on their journies to their new home. He was glad to see some of his old friends again, but the tension that went around really put a damper on the whole get together. He wasn't part of the monster attacks but he heard that the Whers took a few down. Nor was he ever part of the final legs of the War that started in the later part of 3018. He and Viveth were assigned to a threadfall wing, if only because neither of them had it in their constitutions to be part of battle. They were only too happy to accept the assignment.
3020-3023
When all the fighting and the Summit was over, E'iah wasn't too happy about the outcome. He didn't want to leave Selenitas, he had left the Holds in the first place so he could get away from them. He didn't want to go back. But, seeing as he probably wouldn't pass any of the special transfers thing, the Bluerider resigned himself to the situation. At least he got to pick the Hold right? Well, in the end he picked Hyphen, his homestead. Now his family would see how much he's grown and prospered from becoming a Rider, and they could meet the Dragon who had chosen him. As long as he didn't tell them about Viveth's paranoia, the bright neon blue posed an intimidating picture with all his muscle. On the other hand, his father made him start practicing his craft again. There were somepeople he could never really get away from.
Other: Eliah has a Canine named Rishin, who he got at the age of ten for his birthday.
Phish Food Blue
DRAGON
Name: Viveth (from “Vivek” meaning “distinction, discrimination”)
Age: 9 Turns
Color Code: 35E5FC
Appearance: Unlike many of his clutchsiblings, Viveth has decided to forego the “lean and mean” approach to body build and go with pure heft. This blue is maybe just a hair on the smaller side of average for his color and compensates in bulk for what he lacks in stature, sporting a deep-barreled, heavily-muscled torso that makes his legs look very short despite their thickness. His neck is broad and somewhat short, topped by a head that looks ridiculously small in comparison to the rest of his body. Truthfully, his head is in proper proportion as far as skeletal structure goes, but it lacks the heavy musculature that the rest of him sports, making it look... undersized. His tail is similarly thicker and very long, perhaps in an attempt by genetics to balance out his funny frame. His wings are rather large, broad as opposed to excessively long. At least he’ll be able to get airborne… we hope.
Viveth’s oddities do not end with his frame but are only magnified by the bright electric blue of his hide. Those with sensitive eyes should look away. He is bright enough to look like he might be glowing at all times, a fuzzy sort of optical illusion caused by the intensity of the color of his hide. The only break to this pattern is a series of faint spirals in a slightly duller shade of the same blue, the spirals of varying sizes and brightness as they are scattered randomly over his hide. One spiral wraps around his nose, looking very much like a painted rope muzzle if one takes the time to look at it carefully. Still, the effect of his hide is enough to make a person squint and look away, especially when he is freshly oiled and out in sunshine. Males just shouldn’t be that bright.
Watching Viveth hop around on the ground is probably one of the best forms of entertainment a person or dragon can get. He seems to be sneaking everywhere he goes in an attempt to evade the eyes of others, though he is roughly as subtle as a rock slide given his size and lack of real coordination. He is a steady workhorse rather than an acrobat, so he’ll probably never be able to manage the fast turns of the greens and more delicate blues. Instead, he’ll just push and shove his way through everything, throwing his mass around rather than moving it. His wings give him a large amount of lift, and since almost all of his bulk is muscle, he can keep himself aloft for quite some time if he puts his mind to it.
Personality: Paranoia, thy name is Viveth. Viveth is of the opinion that the entirety of Pern and all its inhabitants are out to get him and make him uncomfortable, so he spends the majority of his time pretending to be invisible. This does not, of course, work very well, but he insists on trying nonetheless. This male is utterly convinced that everyone is staring at him at all times, and His will be treated to a constant litany of woes about how persecuted he feels. They are all out to harm him, to make him look like a fool, and to make his life miserable! Why can’t everyone just leave him alone? Viveth will probably never really like social gatherings until he has some time to mature and grow out of a few neuroses as he seems to attract attention wherever he goes by attempting to be ‘not present.’ Though as he has gotten older, E'iah as been able to mellow him out some.
Given how paranoid he is about being judged and made fun of, one would expect Viveth to be a sympathetic and understanding sort of soul deep down. But… no, he is probably one of the most judgmental and narrow-minded creatures to walk the planet. He has mastered the art of sarcasm and being completely and obnoxiously rude about insults. Nothing escapes his critical eye, and though he may not speak those opinions aloud very often, he has no trouble sharing them with His. In fact, His will be lucky to escape from Viveth’s chatter, for this insecure male just loves to blab to his for candlemarks on end. He requires constant reassurance and doting to maintain his low self-esteem, though that seems to feed his anxiety even more. His insecurities are perhaps due in part to his appearance, though maybe his brain is just wired incorrectly. Who can tell?
His, though, is lucky enough to be the single creature on Pern that Viveth treats with (grudging) respect. Viveth will never, ever tell His that he cares for or loves him, instead choosing to arrange a situation in His’ favor or bring a gift to make his sentiments known. Only His is worth this kind of effort, though, for His would never do any wrong to Viveth. The rest of the world is just unworthy of that effort, and it will take a very tough-skinned individual to penetrate the outer layer of glares, sneaking, and disdain to get at the insecure little blue. Thankfully, Viveth is a hard worker, despite his obvious paranoia, so once his wingleader can convince him that the rest of the wing is not out to make fun of him, he’ll be a respectable team player… within reason. Viveth prefers to keep his distance from others, and if he Chases, it will be only because the hormones became too overpowering to resist. His love life will be… interesting at best, if only because he holds everyone at such a distance. Females are horribly picky and fussy, he believes, and therefore, he should avoid them all.
Name: Koulko
Pronunciation: Coal-koe
Gender: Male (Neutered)
Age: Adult
Past Owner: Bluerider K'iel - Siblings Enku & Gojii
Adopted by Eliah Koulko adopted Eliah
Appearance: Black like tar this male sports a short coarse coat. There is nothing really remarkable about his build and he will grow into a moderately large sized tom cat. His eyes are a orange-yellow color and are slightly crossed. This gives him a slightly goofy expression. A brown leather collar around his neck has his name cut into it, a sure sign that whoever finds him will know what to call this clever cat.
Personality: Far from stupid this male is extremely clever, adept at manipulating people to get what he wants. Although he is manipulative he is far from nasty. In fact, this male is quite sweet and loving even though he does have the tendency to cause mischief. Hyper and playful it will not be uncommon to see him attacking shadows that play on the wall, or stalking a blowing leaf. His favorite activity is sprinting from a hiding spot to attack passersby with sheathed claws before darting away. These attacks are sudden and unplanned. He performs these ambushes whenever the fancy strikes and afterward, will often act as if nothing had transpired at all. This male is all about amusement and loves to cause mischief whenever her is bored. Which will be often considering he has the attention span of a two year old.
Flit
Name: Leifa
Age: Adult [deceased]
Color: Green
Impressed to: Eliah[/b]Appearance: Pale, pale green of new forest growth is the underlying color of this little girl. Sprawling neatly all over her body in a very even dispersment is a light, slightly darker leafy pattern. It looks a lot as if she is merely sitting in the shadow of a delicate plant with very small, roundish leaves.
Her body small all around, a very dainty creature indeed. Even with the leafy coloration, she looks every bit the refined lady that really ought not lift anything too heavy at all lest she break a couple bones. Very lightly muscled with graceful, delicate fingers, she does manage to be fairly streamlined. When she flies, it is a very graceful action as her body sloughs right through the air as if she didn't exist at all to create any resistance. Fluttering through the forest, she sometimes can pull off the appearance of an ethereal spirit appearing and vanishing against the leaves.
Personality: Looks do not make up everything, and this little girl makes that point very clearly all by herself. Though a pretty little creature, she doesn't seem to have much of a mind. All greens are forgetful to an extent, but this little green seems to have gotten the short end of the stick when it came to retaining memories. She will forget just about anything almost as fast as she learns it. This leads to a daydreamy state at times, and an ever curious state at others. She spends so much time blowing through memories that she doesn't have the capability of holding grudges. With a temperament much akin to a very young child, she is very trusting of everyone and everything, even if they have previously done her wrong. She is everyone's friend, for eternity. Doesn't matter who or what you are.
Her owner should take great care to keep track of her, as she might eventually get herself eaten trying to be friendly to something that would really just rather eat her. Thankfully, the one thing she does remember all her life, is her human. Making it easier to keep track of her incidentally, she spends almost all of her time within arms reach of her person. It is almost as if she does not wish to forget they are there, and thus must always be there.

The sands were hot and tormenting, but in the end was worth it
Little did the new Weyrling know, how rough the future was going to be, Viveth is not the average Dragon.
