Humans:
Name: Lilu
Age: 24 (Born January 21, 2999)
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual (but uncaring if the need arises for her to be otherwise)
Rank: Dragonrider
Physical Appearance:
Lilu is, in a word, striking. Her crimson red hair naturally falls down to frame her pale, but healthy face, usually reaching around her mid-back, though she will tie it back if she has to do physical labor or wants to make a more professional impression. Her sharp eyebrows sit over penetratingly bright blue-grey eyes, and said eyes sit atop a pert, well-shaped nose. Luscious, pouty lips frame even white teeth, though it's rare they turn into a smile.
Lilu’s body is lithe and well-formed at around 5’8” and 120 pounds. She leads an active life and stays physically fit, and has excellent muscle tone. She’s thin enough that she could (body-wise) be mistaken for a boy if she dressed the part, but she generally does not. She doesn't exactly try to dress feminine, being more comfortable in her flight leathers, but isn't ashamed of being a woman.
Personality:
Since her Impression, Lilu's original personality has come back to the forefront, all her memories restored. She remembers her time as an empty-headed teenager flirting with boys and dressing pretty, but it's such a disconnect from her true personality that she has difficulty accessing any of the social skills she utilized with ease during that time... at least most of the time.
Lilu is the consummate soldier, professional and strict even by the former Benden or Fort standards. She sees precision and military discipline as being necessary for success in life and battle, and is most comfortable when she's able to have a proper chain of command and clear-cut orders. She remembers making friends when she had her memory lapse, but can't quite grasp how to do so anymore, and so generally appears stand-offish, preferring to seem stiff rather than make a fool of herself.
History:
2999 - 3015: Birth, Training, and Impression to Brown Fellsareth
Lilu was born in 2999 as part of the same program that bred E’rro and Er’ani of Benden, though not of the same parents. She was one of the final attempts of the program, using two different dragonriders, and to the operator’s disappointment, the breeding resulted in a female. Not wanting to waste the time they had put into her, however, they proceeded to raise and train her as a soldier anyway, and soon discovered young Lilu was, despite her sex, quite ideal… she had the quality most Benden women had of subservience, but in her it translated not into weak willpower, but instead extreme military obedience, to both her superiors and to her orders. As she grew, she was trained in the various aspects of warfare, from tactics to physical combat, and excelled especially in the latter. She used her lithe frame to become a talented swordswoman, able to best larger men in combat through skill, grace, and speed.
At age 12, in turn 3011, her superior status as a member of the breeding program as well as her combat ability got her a place Standing in one of the un-drugged clutches, and surprising many, she Impressed to a large brown, Fellsareth. Lilu and Fellsareth were the perfect combination, with her strong personality and aggression matched well to the obedient and thickly-muscled brown, and soon Fellsareth was just as much a perfect soldier as she was. The pair excelled in their weyrling training, and soon they were out fighting against Fort in the war, and she even got to join one of the Wings to attack Selenitas in 3012, soon after her graduation from weyrling to full dragonrider. Mostly unaffected by the political turmoil following C’leon’s death and the takeover of Benden Weyr by Fort Bronzerider J’lorin, she simply remained the obedient soldier and followed the commands of whoever was in charge. As long as there were battles to fight, Lilu and Fellsareth were happy with their lot in life.
3015 - 3017: Death of Fellsareth, Selenitas Weyr Candidacy
That all changed in 3015. Lilu and Fellsareth were out with a Wing near Igen Hold when suddenly a Fort Wing ambushed them. The battle was hard-fought, and many of Lilu’s Wing were taken out quickly due to the surprise of the ambush, but Lilu and Fellsareth battled on, until suddenly a quick Fort blue looped around behind the larger and slower Fellsareth and slashed his wings in passing. As Fellsareth fell towards the sandy ground below, Lilu’s training went into effect and she quickly unstrapped herself from her riding harness, so when Fellsareth hit the ground, she wasn’t crushed beneath his bulk, though she bounced off his stomach and landed head-first on the ground. Dragging herself to her hands and knees, she crawled over to her suffering dragon, sobbing as she felt his life slipping away. Overwhelmed with emotion she was unused to, she tried to help Fellsareth, but she was no dragonhealer, and she soon realized her efforts were futile. Crawling up to his head, she cradled his bloodied head in her lap and rocked, sobbing, overcome with the knowledge of losing her mindmate, and fully prepared to Between with him. Before that happened, however, her head injury overtook her, and she fell back, unconscious. Fellsareth, knowing she would live and being trained that it was a waste for a dragon and rider to Between together when the rider could survive, did as a dutiful soldier should and pushed himself away from Lilu’s unconscious form, his eyes grey with pain and sorrow, and finally Betweened, leaving Lilu lying next to the ichor-stained impact crater he had left.
The Fort ambushers finished off the rest of Lilu’s Wing, but took many losses themselves, and left Lilu for dead, retreating back to Fort territory before more Benden riders could show themselves. Lilu lay on the hot sand for hours, until a couple of Holders came upon her unconscious form, and seeing her knots, gathered her up and took her to their home. Tending her until she awakened, they were quickly nearly overwhelmed by the grief-stricken teenager, who had lost all memory of who she was, yet was filled with the fresh pain of losing her mindmate. It took all of the Holder’s power to keep her from killing herself, and soon they gave up trying to calm her and just had a healer keep her sedated with fellis.
As it happened, the Searchteam of Elisabeta and Farryl from Selenitas Weyr arrived at Igen Hold in the next week, with Elisabeta convincing Farryl to carefully and subtly Search in some of Benden’s southern Holds, hoping to find some more Northern blood to help make Selenitas stronger. Rakmaninoth soon led the Searchers to where Lilu was staying, and Elisabeta, seeing the Benden rider knots and discovering the Holders had discovered Lilu was amnesiac but had failed to tell her about the fact that she was a Benden rider, quickly disposed of the knots and claimed Lilu as a Candidate, which the Holders were glad to hear, as they were happy to get rid of the depressed, amnesiac teenager.
Taking Lilu back to Selenitas, they set her up as a Candidate, and soon she began focusing on the things she would use to distract her from the pain of her forgotten dragon’s death, settling into Weyr life as well as she could.
Lilu adapted well to the Weyr, forgetting her pain by being a massive flirt and concentrating on simple things like looking pretty and teasing boys. Her life proceeded mostly uninterrupted until May of 3017, when a chance encounter with the bronzehandler Piden had her Impress a green firelizard, who she named Tselitel. The bond with the flit brought back flashes of memory from her previous life, but nothing concrete. Soon, though, life changed again, for everyone at the Weyr, when the great Selenitas Earthquake occurred, destroying her new home. Lilu was uninjured, but it was during the earthquake that a boy who she had manipulated earlier for fun came back to rescue her and another girl when the chaos overwhelmed her and she was left sitting in the Candidate barracks sobbing and unable to help another Candidate get free from fallen debris. The boy, Kaius, brought out a new feeling in Lilu... friendship, and perhaps the start of love.
3017 - 3018: Impression to Blue Venideth, Regaining of Memories, New Life
Lilu's life changed once more in June of 3017, when at her "first" hatching at the new Selenitas/Burimyu Weyr, she Impressed the blue dragon Venideth. The Impression, though not healing her soul completely, filled in the hole enough for her to regain all the memories of her prior life in Benden, and now Lilu had to figure out who she truly was, combining her previous life as a Benden soldier with her current life as a Selenitas dragonrider.
Lilu fell back into her life as a weyrling quickly, though there were a number of speedbumps as her abrasive personality made enemies of both her Weyrlingmaster and her first weyrling roommate, Osnat. It did not help that Osnat was bonded to Venideth's brother, Perienmoth, and that Venideth's and Perienmoth's personalities clashed as much as Lilu's and Osnat's did. Another speedbump was that Kaius, the Candidate who Lilu had feelings towards as a Candidate, pulled away from her as her old personality took sway over her, and after his Impression to gold wher Kaiusk, disappeared from Lilu's life as a whole.
Lilu concentrated on her weyrling training, however, using her experience to assist her fellow weyrlings and gaining at least some professional camaraderie with some of them, if not exactly friendship. She also met a young Candidate, Olivia, at this time, and the young woman took to Lilu, seeing her as a model to follow. Soon, she had finally graduated once more, and she looked forward to the rumors that the Council was soon going to involve Selenitas in the Northern Weyr Wars, keeping herself and Venideth fit and prepared for when they were called upon to join battle once more.
3018 - 3023: The Northern Weyr War, Summit, and the Division of the Weyrs
Imagine Lilu's disappointment, then, when she learned that Venideth, along with the rest of his clutch, was deemed too young to participate in the combat, despite the armored mutations that made them optimal for dragon-on-dragon combat and their physical maturity. Lilu railed against the decision, as she had against the decision to make her participate in weyrling training despite her former status as a full dragonrider, but in the end, the decision was out of her hands, and she stayed behind to participate in Thread fighting while the rest of the dragonriders who had combat experience went out to join their Benden allies in the battle against Fort.
During this time, Lilu worked with Olivia, helping the poor girl as she was left on the Sands in hatching after hatching, giving her tips and training as the Candidate girl began visiting Lilu regularly. It started simply as a way to help pass on her training to the next generation, but it soon developed into something more... Lilu began to feel protective towards the blonde Candidate, and soon started seeing Olivia not just as a student, but almost like the younger sister she never had.
At long last, the Northern Weyr War was ended with the death of R'anatar and the scattering of Fort Weyr's forces, though Lilu only heard stories of it, being stuck at Selenitas Weyr fighting Thread just as she had during the battles. In 3020, a Summit was held, with a decision being made to take crafters to the Holds and split the remaining dragonriders between Selenitas in the south and a new Weyr, Inverness, in the north. Lilu, having realized at long last that her opinion as a woman and a bluerider did not matter, simply did as she was commanded, and eventually it was determined she would stay in Selenitas Weyr.
Now, a new Turn is dawning, and Lilu is left in a predicament that many other riders are experiencing, though she is likely the youngest... what does someone trained from birth as a soldier do in a world without a war to fight?
Based off of: The Black Knight
Age: 5
Born: June 3017
Color: Blue #000045#17174E
Appearance: Venideth's hide is like the sky right after dusk, light enough to visibly be blue but dark enough to blend into the night. If he works hard and trains diligently, he will be slender and lithe throughout his entire life, rarely gaining any substantial amounts of fat unless he is left to laze about. For a Blue he is neither large, nor small, falling directly in the middle for both height and length. As far as physicality goes, there really isn't anything extraordinary about him. His wings, neck, tail and legs are of average proportions for his build and his talons are neither long nor short. Perhaps... totally average isn't the right word for him. Perfect is. If dragons were made from molds, Venideth would be the poster child. Despite his lack of any real outstanding handsomeness, he is wondrously pleasing to look at.
Perhaps the most physically remarkable thing are his markings, even then... to call them remarkable is stretching it. Starting from under his chin and running down to the very tip of his tail, is an even darker blue, if that was possible. It splits Venideth's underside from the rest of his body, flowing down the front of his neck, over the natural curve of his belly, and between both sets of legs. It is in this darker colored region where you will find the all inclusive clutch trait of armor like skin. The only soft "normal" tissue that can be found on Venideth's stomach is where the underside of his legs attach to his body, allowing him freedom of movement rather than the restrained quality the thickened skin would have given him. In aerial combat, all of his opponents will be hard pressed to find easy ways of killing him, thus, he is far more protective of his unguarded wings than he is of his underside. It would take a very strong dragon to get through that tough skin and cause serious damage in a single blow.
Personality: If anyone could be Perienmoth's opposite, this Blue would hold the highest spot. Unwavering loyalty? Yeah right. Vendideth fights for Selenitas for allegiance sakes only, if he had been born to the North, well it would have been exactly the same. If he is loyal to anyone (with of course, the exception of his Rider) it would be to the Bronzes of the Weyr, or rather, the highest bidding Bronze. If they can initiate respect and keep it, or bribe him with good offers (and keep their end of the bargain), Venideth has no qualms in switching from one Bronze to another. The Blue has very little morals, or if he does, he is just completely apathetic about them. Killing? Not a problem, as long as he's ordered to do it. Aerial battle? Whatever, Ichor washes off. Force catching? If the Green is taking too long, that should be fixed. And if he sees bullying? Venideth's more likely to watch the underdog get pummeled into pudding before he even thinks of stepping in. Fighting, clawing, killing... death in general doesn't bother the Blue, its his realm after all. If mercenaries could be dragons, thy name would be Venideth. Despite all this the male is actually and easy going Blue, a little rowdy sometimes when he's with kindred spirits, but a pretty cool dragon to be around. Well until you anger him that is.
There is perhaps, one thing he shares with his near opposite, and that is honor. Its true, he may not have a lot of it, but the few shreds he has he will defend. And you don't want to make light on his honor, because he'll saunter up all nice, even chuckling over the joke, maybe even throw a wing over the dragons back in merriment... then have you by the throat until he decides you get exactly what you're never supposed to do again. But, not everything he loves has to do with violence, because he absolutely adores the docile, happy go lucky Greens. The innocent ones. The ones who are kind and then extend that kindness to him. Those Greens are by far easier to attract and catch than the ones who give up suuuuch a fuuusss over their Flight. Either way, take it as a hint that even a little evil has a bit of good in them. (Sorta!)
Color: Green (00ff00, markings ffff00)

Physical Appearance: This big girl is an absolutely eye-bleeding shade of neon green, bright enough that she seems to glow even at night and on the most overcast of grey days. When she rises, looking directly at her is like staring into the sun. Her color is pretty enough (or it would be if you didn't practically have to squint to look at her), smooth and even, with no rough patches or discolorations. A scattering of perhaps even more blindingly yellow spots scatter along her neck and belly, and trail up the bones of her wings, although they are not in evidence on her wingsails, head, back, or tail. Three jagged rings of yellow circle her tail close to the fork, almost as if she were wearing tail-bracelets. Otherwise, the green of her hide is painfully unbroken - from above, with her wings folded and her tail tucked, she looks like a solid green, so the flash of yellow that occurs when she leaps into the air is somewhat startling.
And leap she does. She's actually quite big for her color, reaching something more like large blue-sized, so agility will never be her strong suit, but that certainly doesn't mean she won't try, although she is careful not to injure herself. She's not especially fast, either, although that doesn't stop her from doing her best to zip from place to place like her smaller sisters. She is strong, however, almost freakishly so for a green. In fact, she's got a frame more like a brown or a bronze, ripped with muscle like a male instead of slim like more average females. She can jump and fly higher than most other flits, lift heavier things, and isn't afraid to use her somewhat blunt claws and teeth to get what she wants. That's actually one of her least favorite parts of herself - no matter how much she sharpens them, her claws and teeth remain point-less, or the points break off. She or Hers will have to figure out that mashed-up foods are all she can chew, and biting someone will leave only bruises. Still, she'll learn to compensate; if you can't rip and tear, after all, you can still bludgeon someone into submission if you must.
Personality: At heart, she's a warrior. Prickly when she's unhappy for any reason, this girl is always ready for a fight, and her personality is as aggressive as her color. Brave to the point of stupidity, she'll go so far as to challenge much larger flits, humans, whers, and even dragons if they defy her (salamandyrs, being smaller than she is, are generally beneath her notice). She always uses force to get her way, and really isn't smart enough to try something more subtle, like diplomacy or manipulation. She demands what she wants, and if she doesn't get it, expect to be whacked around the head with a large, muscular wing. Hers is the only one who is spared this sort of treatment... usually.
She's not a mean flit, though. Yes, she likes to fight, and the only way she can see to get what she wants is to battle for it, but if there isn't anything she wants currently, she can be downright affectionate. Granted, she's usually off repetitively lifting something heavy or sunning, but she absolutely adores keeping her hide clean and oiled, and will require oiling and a bath at least daily. Firelizards and other creatures who share her interests will become fast friends, and she especially loves male attention, although she'll battle any of them that presume to cuddle her without invitation (or any that leave off paying attention to her to pay attention to another female, even Hers). Luckily, she's not really smart enough to hold a grudge, either, and when the fight is done, the winner is right and the loser is wrong. Subject dropped.
She has a somewhat hilariously disproportionate view of herself, too. For some reason, she thinks she's a tiny, drab, stealthy thing, that has all the agility and speed of the tiniest of Greens. She loves sneaking through forests and hiding in corners, although the glow of her hide makes her absolutely the opposite of subtle. She also seems to think that she needs to exercise constantly, since she is so 'small' and 'weak', and has 'no endurance'. Of course, that's the opposite of the truth, and it often means that she over does it when fighting, flying, and exercising. She's usually careful not to injure herself, but it does happen.

(Sorta!)
