Senior Journeyman Healer/Dragonhealer / Wingrider
Physical Appearance;
Ae'on has the same general roundness of the face that others of his family have, plus a slightly wide nose. He tends to have more serious expressions on his face and amusement and confusion tend to have a muted appearance. He has medium brown eyes that are set just below the fringes of his bangs. His hair is black and is cut so it’s above his eyes in the front but gets longer towards the back so that it covers his ears and half of his neck. He no longer styles his hair in any particular way. Instead of curling out at the edges it now falls around his face in slight surves and is considerably softer than when he used plant gels to style it. He has fairly large ears and a part of why he keeps his hair the way he does is to cover them.
The turns of having Aldonza and exercising with her have melted away a considerable amount of Ae'on's softness. He is most definitely still a cuddly sort because really he just seems to be that sort of build in general but he is rediculously healthy and he actually seems more vibrant and stands at his full height. He has since grown into his full 5'11 height and is no longer shy about being taller than others. He's not a particularly strong or quick person, preferring to amble along when he's not chasing after unruly canines, but he can go on and on for hours if he needs to - a rather handy skill for a Healer during crises.
Ae'on seems forever drawn to bright, typically warm colours for his shirts. Bright shades of just about any colour can be found in his rainbow wardrobe. Thankfully these bright colours are usually paired with more typical brown and black pants. He’s also a fan of men’s jewellery. He’s gotten his ears pierced and tends to wear studs in both ears, and a hoop on the upper part of his left ear. Not that you can see anything but the studs. The boy also wears several men’s bangles on each arm daily. Most of these bangles are simple leather with metal clasps on them in various designs. Though he mixes and matches them he has a story for every one of them. This one’s from when he left home, this one’s from when he Walked….
Personality;
The turns and their events have matured Ae'on considerably. While he is still incredibly easy to anger he no longer demands apologies to placate himself. No, instead he's discovered a rather grudge-y side to himself. He'll happily hold others' mistakes over their heads, even if only in his mind, and treat them accordingly until they prove otherwise to him. That said, if they do apologize and they genuinely mean it he's quick to forgive and move on. He'll also still lash out at others when he's angry but he does have the good grace to apologize and try to warn them off when he's in a mood.
His bedside manner has only slightly improved if only because he's the only Healer available to humans at Inverness Weyr. With no other Healers to buffer his attitude he's more careful to keep from insulting his patients unless they were genuinely stupid. He’ll never turn anyone who needs medical attention away, no matter how much he tells them they’re a bother. Ae'on also takes his healing quite seriously for it is one of the few things he genuinely loves to do and he appreciates it all the more because he was allowed to stay at a weyr.
Ae'on is a kind sort, deep down. He likes to hide it under a sarcastic, angry façade but it is there nonetheless. He’ll offer help if he sees someone in need, along with sarcastic insults and a grumpy face. He tends not to let people in for fear they’ll take advantage of his kind nature. He treats his friends with the same gruff personality as everyone else. Publicly, anyways. If he’s alone with them he may show his softer side occasionally, becoming the emotional crutch people sometimes need. He’ll only ever share or request personal help from friends. That’s a pretty rare occurrence as well. Ae'on likes to stand on his own two feet.
Since it takes Ae'on so long to open up to anyone he is extremely weak against death of loved ones or betrayals. Death of people close to him pain him for a long time and he tends to distance himself from his friends for a little while so that he can mourn without disturbing them. As for betrayals…once betrayed (or used; it falls under the same category) he will never trust that person enough again to let them into his personal life. It’s fortunate that his definition of betrayal if quite specific - plain old naiveté or idiocy will only earn his ire, not necessarily his mistrust.
History;
Birth and Early Turns (2999-3008)
Aephon was born to Nephon and Adele in a Benden Cothold. Aephon's large family consisted of four brothers, five sisters, and a few more half-siblings. Of all these siblings, only one ever had any sort of close relationship with the boy. Unlike most of the males in the family Aephon adored his mother and sister Nephele. They were his childhood heroes and his sanctuaries whenever he disappointed his father. It was when Nephele was given to Benden Weyr that he realized how messed up his family was. His father didn't care about his wife or his own flesh and blood. His older brothers weren't much better either.
Rebellious Turn (3008-3009)
With his new understanding of how disgusting his family was began the turn of his rebellion. He was quite vocal and even physical about what he thought. He earned many heavy-handed punishments and sleepless nights listening to his stomach grumbling. Eventually, his father grew tired of his son's disobedienced and found a solution that wouldn't force him to lose too much face. Thus, Aephon was happily shipped off to Healer Hall and all but disowned by his father. He still received the occasional letter and was expected to respond to them appropriately, but other than that he was alone.
Healer Hall (3009-3015)
Upon arrival at Healer hall, Aephon had the whole of Pern open up before him. Information about the dragon war finally reached his ears and he found the entire North was a dark place. Still, there was a certain sense of freedom in the Hall and he found he didn't hate it there half as much as he thought he would. Information occasionally flowed from loose-lipped Benden riders come for healing and it certain was grim but sort of just bounced off the boy. He was rather untouchable emotionally, despite some bullying about his relative roundness, until the boy received a curt letter from his father about the death of his mother. Hidden in the letter was a pair of silver earing studs with dried blood on them. Aephon assumed them to have been snuck in by his younger sister to hint at what had happened to their mother.
The boy never responded to a letter from his family after that and he had his ears pierced to wear the cleaned earings in place of his mother. When he ended up attacking another apprentice for making fun of his earings he was sent to one of the mindhealers to deal with his anger. He struck up an odd friendship with the mindhealer and opened up about his home environment and the things he'd been through. Only a few session with the mindhealer led to a drastic change. Though still quite the grumpy person he never hit anyone again and he actually put so much more into his Healing, learning to enjoy not just the Hall itself but what it taught. He was thirteen when he heard about the siege of Selentias and grew annoyed at having to heal Benden riders. He bided his time healing their sorry asses until he could Walk and ask for a different placement. He earned his Journeyman's knots at fifteen but remained another turn as he considered his options and earned marks.
Selenitas and Impression (3015-3016)
Aephon was transfered south to Selenitas Hold though he was quickly searched by a rider. The Journeyman believed his skills would be better put to use and improved in the weyr so he agreed to be a candidate, though only to get an easy lift to Selenitas Weyr. Things got interesting for the boy when he ran into his sister once again. He was doubley surprised to learn she had become a greenrider. His sister wasn't the only one who awaited him at Selenitas though. He was a healer on duty when Jingth forcefully removed him from the side of the hatching ground and placed him much closer to the clumsy hatchlings he was there to clean up after. A cheerfully flirtatious blue who called himself Sfelyth Impressed to the grumpy healer and together the pair began weyrling training.
His female-dominated class of crazies was nothing compared to the Wasteland takeover of Selenitas, no matter how much he would claim otherwise. His sister was once again ripped away from him when she was forced to flee the weyr or risk being executed. Tensions between the Selenies and Wastelanders rose and fell, almost reaching a critical point when they culled four deformed hatchlings. Ae'on struggled to keep his own anger for the Wastelander's under control as he restrained another healer from going into the hatching grounds turned battlegrounds. He also had to swallow his bile at being taught by one of the Wastelanders in lessons.
New Regime (3016-3017)
Ae'on quickly became accustomed to life under Wasteland management and soon found himself not caring again. Nothing good would come of it. Despite his dislike for busy places, Ae'on took a chance and went to the Hyphen Hold Gather and accidentally met up with his sister once again. He was reassured to see Nephele alive - harrassment from strange Hold women aside - and was deeply afraid when Wasteland discovered the presence of the exiles at the Gather. He could only hope she managed to escape a second time. Not long after the Gather, Ae'on ended up Impressing a green salamandyr that named herself Me. Sfelyth's participation in green flights aside, nothing very exciting happened to Ae'on for a bit after his second Impression...unless you count Me's run that resulted in a threesome between him, Farryl, and Elisabeta but he refuses to acknowledge that event.
After that, Burimyu tried another tithe theft and got caught in the act. Much to his dismay there was loss of life on both sides and he wondered why they were having such pointless conflict. That conflict was somewhat rectified, though the disaster that caused it was still not welcome. A massive earthquake destroyed Selenitas and Burimyu offered them a place to turn to. Being one of the few Healers left, he understood better than some why it was good they ended up accepting Burimyu's helping hand and recombining the weyrs.
End of the War (3018-3020)
During the next two turns the only thing of personal significance to Ae'on was the birth of his nephew, Kephe, to his sister and her weyrmate. As a Healer his only job during the war against Fort Weyr was to provide support. The extent of his battling was the odd time when the healer teams had to be sent to retrieve injured riders and were attacked. Nephele and K'sel were not always so lucky and when the both of them were busy their son was frequently dumped on him to look after if they couldn't find Erilena first. Not that Ae'on absolutely hated looking after the kid...not until the kid learned to talk.
Aftermath (3020-present)
The end of the war was a different story entirely for Ae'on, as it was for everyone. The news that there would be two weyrs and that every rider was going to be assigned to one or the other worried him. More than that, though, was the threat of having to move back to a Hold with the chaotic presences of Sfelyth, Me, and Aldonza. His worries were put at ease though because he was chosen to be Inverness Weyr's only dragonrider Healer. He was kind of smugly proud that his promotion to Senior Journeyman meant he could be given such a position. He was a little less impressed with the idea of helping build the weyr but...well, as the turns passed and the weyr was completed things settled into a normal routine of him bossing around a bunch of interns and family get togethers with his sister and her family who also made it up north.
Sfelyth

7 (April 3015)
Blue #4545ED
Physical Appearance;
Sfelyth is medium-sized at best, small at worst, for a blue. Due to his build, though, he tends to look smaller than he is – for this dragon’s entire body is sharp angles and a slimness that’s just on this side of being skin and bones, the layer of pure muscle between hide and bones almost invisible. However, the absolute strength and grace trapped within his serpentine body, formed almost like a tunnelsnake’s in how long and thin he appears, will define just how healthy Sfelyth is: When he’s unhealthy, be it from long inactivity or sickness, he tends to look deflated.
On the ground, Sfelyth has a peculiar slithering grace that’s walking the line between beautiful and terrible. Certainly there’s a predatory edge to it that makes it darker than the usual gait, almost hypnotic. In the sky, however, there’s none of that darkness: Sfelyth is poetry in motion in the sky. His wings are large and slender, allowing him to go as fast, as slow, as he could possibly want. His endurance is impressive for such a small, slender creature, and his agility will surely be that of legend.
Sfelyth is as stunning in color as he is in flight. A deep violet blue covers his hide, actual purple hues sliding in glimmering undertones beneath every fluid motion. The gleam of hide over bone and muscle would be fascinating enough, but Sfelyth also wears several markings unique to him. The first is a mask, covering his entire face and draping lopsidedly across his left head knob, made of a lighter violet color. But the swirls painted across his ‘mask’ aren’t pure blue – they look, rather, as if somebody had taken shimmering, translucent gold, had painted it on over his blue. The same transparent gold hues edge his wings, and appear in mirages on his sides and flanks.
To most, Sfelyth’s emotions seem highlighted in his eyes – but ultimately, that’s not true. His eyes reflect what he wants them to, and nothing more: Only someone very, very close to him would be able to pick out the faint threads of what he really feels beneath everything else. One thing that his eyes also reflect is light – or rather, the first transparent eyelid reflects light, very well, well enough that Sfelyth can actually see at night just as clearly as he would see in daylight.
Personality;
Sfelyth is a difficult creature to read. This blue seems, to most, to simply be friendly – perhaps overly so. In fact, his particular brand of friendliness is a bewildering mix of charisma, irritating cheerfulness, and a puppy-like perseverance – as well as flirting. Because, yes, he regularly flirts with any dragon nearby, female or not. For the most part, he flirts playfully, with the intent to cuddle, though Sfelyth certainly isn’t above wooing a female right before she Rises in order to gain the upper hand. However, Sfelyth also seems to have a “never Catch or cuddle with the same dragon twice” mindset, preferring to make his merry way through the majority of the Weyr unhindered by previous encounters.
To those that rub him wrong, though, Sfelyth is unexpectedly antagonistic. This generally equates to bronzes, the only dragons exempt from his flirting policy. To them, Sfelyth tends to act incredibly cocky and arrogant – and even though fighting, both with words and with his body, will come naturally to him, he doesn’t seem to like to be the first one to lash out. A little more surprisingly, Sfelyth is terribly clingy to those that he’s actually close to – a number which will be very, very few, since his blatant flirting and slight air of arrogance tends to make it hard to form bonds that aren’t superficial.
Possibly the most surprising of all, Sfelyth is actually an incredibly intelligent creature, very perspective, and something of a natural leader – perhaps it’s the fact that his arrogance and intelligence just need something worthwhile to be channeled into, for otherwise Sfelyth will be very, very restless and tends to get himself into trouble. No, really. Sfelyth seems to be a trouble magnet. He doesn’t actively look for it (or so he swears) – it just finds him, invariably, wherever he goes. And just because Sfelyth usually can come up with the strangest and oddest of solutions to get himself out of trouble, and finds it incredibly amusing and exciting…well. That doesn’t mean he’ll come out unscathed by any means.

5 (June 3016)
Green #009900
Physical Appearance;
Beautiful. This is the first word that comes to mind when viewing this green. She is near perfect in body type and structure. Her weight is spot on, everything is within proper proportion, and she has about her a dainty and very feminine air. You’d be hard pressed to find a thing wrong with her physically even if you were looking. She seems to know this too. Fully formed and lovely functional wings grace her back and her tail is just the right length for a mandyr. Not terribly long nor too thick. Simply perfect for her size. The only possible mar to her perfection might be the fact that she doesn’t have a proper frill. Instead she was born with the same bony spines ringing her head that her siblings and dam sport. Her spines being a perfectly polished black.
Her hide is also gorgeous. A bright and shiny shade of emerald green, the color having no lack of shine or depth. It is simply stunning and even more so when she is in the sun where it almost seems to glow with its own light. Only a few markings are present on her unmarred emerald hide. A soft shade of pale green lines her eyes like eyeliner and seems to paint the lids themselves and thin stripe of the same color travels down her spine and also forms raccoon bands along her tail. Other than that her beautiful emerald hue dominates.
Personality;
You can say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but this green knows she is drop dead gorgeous and she flaunts it. She is extremely flirtatious, terribly loud and a complete showoff. To make maters worse she has a pretty decent vocabulary. Although her sentences are not by any means perfect she sure gets her point across very well. She also adores attention. Of any type. She will frequently do her best to be the center of attention. Using not only her looks but her word choices to make that happen. She is particularly fond of ‘naughty’ words because those seems to get the best reaction. In fact it will not be uncommon for her to blurt out words like sex or a curse or two in a place like a crowded dinning hall just to get the attention she deserves. Oh but you see she isn’t narcissistic enough to believe that she needs all the attention. Oh no. Hers needs attention as well. Because he is just the most handsome male ever to walk the surface of Pern. Or so she’ll tell anyone who will listen. And anyone who won’t listen too.
Despite her love of attention the female doesn’t seem to make judgments about people. She’s not really nasty or mean. No she just loves attention. She does however detest firelizards with a passion and will be prone to trying to trick them into making fools of or hurting themselves. Other female mandyrs are simply tolerated at best and ignored at worst. They can provide her with little. It is the male mandyrs and even sometimes a particularly handsome human she goes nuts for. She is not beyond outright flirting and draping herself over them. Trying her level best to endear herself to them so they will adore her as is expected. Double points for the male mandyr if they can get theirs to pay attention to hers as well. As can be expected this green will run quite often and she will also be prone to picking multiple partners in a run. But no more than two. The more to play attention to her and hers the better. She isn’t very faithful to her partners usually. She’s only in it for the attention after all, not a life partner. She already has one so why would she need two? But the more a mandyr sucks up to her the higher his chances are of being picked frequently.

5 (3018)
Female
Physical Appearance;
Receiving most of her marking from her dam, its very little surprise that her under coat has inherited the tan-ish coloration. Its on top of this where all her little spots and splotches lie. Her face is mostly light grey, the tan running only up to the right side of her face, while dozens of darker grey (or even black) spots track their way across her face and ears. Her back is a patch work of large and small spots, none being a true uniform shape, like a circle or an oval, reflecting the mother’s heritage. Under those spots are the lighter grey that can be found on her face and neck, it seems to blanket most of the upper portion of her body, tapering off only midway down her legs and when it reaches her underbelly.
This female has brown almond shaped eyes that are set slightly closer to her nose and a head that is like her father’s in length, but wider and slightly flatter around the top of cranium. Long, pointed ears reflect the winter dog in her allowing for better hunting during the colder months. She stands 21 inches at the shoulders, falling between the acceptable range for both breeds (though she seems to be a little bit more body than leg, allowing for the optical illusion of a shorter stature) and her ‘feel good weight’ will be at 35 pounds. Her tail, at least in composition, is a spitting replica of her father’s. Fox-brush shaped and rather well plumed, it’s tip faces back toward her head in a gentle curve, not leaning more to one side or the other. Her undercoat is soft and dense, and her outer coat is straight and somewhere between smooth and silky in texture. Though its not uncommon for her to loose most, if not all of her undercoat during the hotter and warmer months. Large paws can be found at the end of her legs, with furry webbings between each toe, allowing for running through snow and slush. Capable of good endurance.
Personality;
She can be… a little bit of a handful, even when fully trained. Oh, she’ll listen to commands and take her punishments, though this little snot will always test her boundaries. She is a scamp, a hooligan, a risk taker, but never will you find a more loyal dog. No matter how many times she may push peoples’ buttons, its hard not to love her. She’s gentle with children and other pets if they insist they really /don’t/ want to play rough with her, and she loves to show off how smart she is by readily performing the tricks she’ll be taught. If adopted by a couple she will bond more closely with one person than the other, considering that person to be the alpha of their pack and will generally be more willing to be obedient with that chosen one. Although she may be everywhere at once and may have sacrificed some alertness for energy, she is still a good first alarm system.
Extremely outgoing and energetic, she can’t be cooped up all day. Well she can, but be prepared to sacrifice pillows, shoes and couch corners as compensation. Walks and socialization will be needed daily, even if its just letting her run around outside for a few hours. The more tired she is, the easier it is to get her full cooperation. She needs to be stimulated or she will become unintentionally destructive in search of something to entertain her. Commands and tricks will be absorbed like a sponge and will be almost impatiently learned, training will need to start early.
