"DID I STUTTER?" a very angry Elisabeta bellowed, standing directly between the doors to the girls' and boys' wings and shouting down the hallways. A handful of Candidates had already made it to the common room, but many and more were still fooling around in their halls. "CANDIDATES! REPORT TO THE COMMON ROOM IMMEDIATELY! PAIR UP WITH YOUR BUNKMATE IF YOU CAN FIND THEM, IF NOT, STAY STILL AND STAY CALM, AND STAY IN THE COMMON ROOM." The Candidatemaster did not do well when woken in the middle of the night, and more importantly, Rakmaninoth was still panicked and trapped, which didn't improve Elisabeta's mood in the slightest. "I SAID NOW!!" she added, just for good measure, storming back to the small gathering of candidates in the common room.
She didn't waste time waiting for more to arrive. "Again, pair up with your bunkmate," she said, still bellowing like a drill sergeant (although arguably she was more gentle with those in the common room than those left in the barracks). Honestly, despite being 5'2" and dressed in a nightgown, the already terrifying Candidatemaster was scarier than anyone had ever likely seen her. Those attempting to defy orders could expect to be punched, bitten... or maybe worse. She did not look like the sort of person to cross. "Boys on the left, girls on the right. If your bunkmate is missing, RAISE YOUR HAND AND DO NOT MOVE. If you or your bunkmate is injured, report it to me immediately. Dragons or Whers will get us out; you are candidates, not riders. You will not move until I tell you to move. You risk Candidacy, and your home. We will take care of our own first, WHEN I TELL YOU TO, and then we will find out where else we are needed. But first I HAVE to know who is missing, and who is injured. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"
While the Candidates sorted themselves out, Elisabeta shot a pulse of awareness to Rakmaninoth, wanting to be filled in on who had told her what. Peppeth tells us to see if the Candidates are safe, Rakmaninoth sneered, her opinion of Peppeth's slow reaction time clear. You have no smoke, so Mirazeth can be ignored, and Kierjaarth says the ground will shake again, do not panic. Elisabeta snorted mentally. Take care of it? Rakmaninoth responded in the affirmative, then called to Peppeth and Kierjaarth, We are already with the candidates, taking stock of injuries and those missing. We will need healers, and something for the children to do. Their attention span is short.
Meanwhile (Elisabeta made a mental note to make the Candidates drill assembly, this was taking far too long) the Candidatemaster strode to the doors of the barracks, stepping out into the hall. "You," she snapped, pointing at Orena as the young woman rushed by, "Get him -" L'am "- and bring him into the Candidate Barracks. Him, and anyone else you can find. NOW, GIRL!"
((Trapped people may want to let H'nes/Mi'rah know where they are! This round is mostly for Candidates, but for everyone else, never fear...
Also if your candidates can't make it to the common room, don't worry, they'll be taken care of!))

Sammy heard something, and he was pleased to see X'vier's blue mandyr run into the room. The firelizard took flight, chittering happily and flying little circles around the mandyr, happy to at least see someone that was going to help His! Chirring, he landed again, trying to make it clear to the mandyr that they had to get the debris off of Vellani's prone body. Whether or not the mandyr would help, Sammy would fly right back over and try to start lifting things off of Ani's back with his little hands. This was no small feat for a little flit like him, but fortunately for him, Vellani would soon come to.
" Wha...?" She groaned, hand going to her head. With difficulty, she rose, the pain in her head increasing the higher she got. Sliding the blankets off of her disheveled head, she glanced around. Sammy chittered happily and landed on his mistress' shoulder, crooning happily and petting her gratefully. Ani's hand went to Sammy's familiar body for support and she eyed the new edition to the room.
" Passion!" She said happily...though her head was still hurting. She offered the mandyr her shoulder if he wanted a ride and started to rise onto her feet, feeling the debris all around her falling away. Unfortunately for her, the first bit of ceiling that landed on her hit her ankle rather hard and it was twisted. The pain struck her and she stumbled forth, landing on her knees hard. Gathering herself, she would rise again and do a rather awkward shuffle/hop towards the common room, resting in between. The mandyr and the firelizard gave her support though, and she soon made it to the common room.
She didn't see the girl who shared her bunk, so she hobbled up to the candidatemaster, her voice soft. " My ankle is twisted and I have a bump on my head." Then she shuffled off to the side where she could sit down, getting the weight off of her ankle. She hoped Samael was alright right about now.
Whether or not Kyrstin would agree with him, Kaius would rush off towards the girls' bunks. He paused long enough to see that Lilu wasn't among those coming out of the doors, so, and this probably wasn't the best idea on his part, the tall boy brushed past the girls lingering in the doorway. Eyes scanned the room, noticing Lilu trying to help a girl trapped under her bunk bed. Eyes widened in disbelief as no one seemed to be helping the girl. King, on the other hand, seemed pleased as pie at the moment. He glided off of Kai's shoulder with the happiest squeak and ran over to Lilu, stopping near her hands. He glanced from Lilu to Rosanna. Hi pretty ladies! He proclaimed, eyes widening when he saw the predicament Rosanna was in. Mine come help! He said matter of factly to his bonded.
Kai didn't waste any time. Ignoring Lilu's apparent lack of clothing with surprising ease, he would run over and put his hands under the bunk, glancing down to the girl. " Calm down, you'll be fine." and then lifting it slowly off of Rosanna. After it was upright, if the girl could walk, he would lead her and Lilu to the common room. If she couldn't walk, he would scoop her up into his long arms and carry her and lead Lilu to the common room. Whatever course of action happened, King would skitter up onto Lilu's shoulder, crooning comforting words into her ear and nuzzling her cheek before gliding over to land on Rosanna's, doing much the same thing to the other girl.
Oddly enough, it was Elisabeta's wailing that made August finally decide to wake up. Groggy eyes focused in on his bunkmate, who was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS FACE! " Whoa!" He said, scrambling up out of bed. Glaring a little, mostly out of confusion, towards the other candidate, Gus spoke " What the? What're you doing?" Beta was still wailing and he glanced in that direction. " And what's got her all tangled up in a knot." The boy blinked for a second, suddenly throwing his legs over the bed and gathering up his clothing. " Did I sleep through lessons again?" AND...
...most oblivious award goes too....
" JETH!" L'am's voice was hoarse as he ran towards the pile of rubble. The dragon wasn't gone. He could still feel the blue's presence pounding away at the back of his mind. Holding on, for him. Without thinking of the ineffectiveness of his actions, the man began to haul rocks away from on top of his bonded. Though he couldn't lift the heavy rocks off and what he was hauling away was soon replaced by more rubble didn't matter. He was just frantically lifting and tossing rocks to the side, feeling Jeth's bond on his mind weaken as the moments passed...or maybe he was just imagining things?
He was too busy tearing at the rocks with his fragile human hands to notice not one, but two dragons joining him. By this point, L'am's hands were bleeding and cut, so focused was his attention on the task at hand. He would not cease, would not stop until either Jeth was free or his consciousness blinked completely from his mind. Even then he would try to find the sharpest bit of rock he could find and...
" M...Mine?" The word was slow and pained, but it was something. Tears sprung to the bluerider's eyes and he felt a new surge of power flow in him. He began to try and lift rocks up with new vigor. " Hang on, Jeth! We're coming!" To the other rescuers, he beamed. " He's awake!" Then he began digging his dragon out again, not seeming to realize that he was making Aonith and Lketh's jobs slightly harder in his exuberance.
There was just no way he was going to leave his dragon.

Cainith grinned in relief as he saw Ivy exit the female barracks, and began to approach her when he saw her distraction cause her to fall and twist her ankle, wherein his grin became a gape of horror. Rushing forward to try to catch her, he wasn't quite fast enough, so instead he quickly scooped the redhead up off the ground as soon as he reached her, a look of concern on his face as he asked, "Are you all right, Ivy? Do you think you can walk?" As he spoke, he flipped the end of his blanket over to help cover Ivy's face from dust inhalation... and her torso, since he noticed she was still in only her breastband and a pair of shorts. As the blanket left his back, it revealed long, deep, jagged scars on his back, though they were obviously very old and not from a recent injury. Walking into the common room fully, he obeyed Elisabeta's commands and stood in line with what other males were already lining up, standing near the end close to the girls so that Ivy could be accounted for without him having to put her down and test her ankle. Nestled deep in his hair in fright, Rollhead remained thankfully silent.
As King arrived near Lilu's hand, she beamed in happiness, and once Kaius showed soon after, and began freeing Rosanna from the rubble, she recovered her wits and began assisting as best she could as well, for the first time ignoring the damage to her nails and skin in her desperation to help her fellow Candidate. Once Rosanna was freed, and Kaius lifted her up, Lilu giggled joyously and, in a surge of emotion, hugged Kaius tightly, and planted a big kiss on his lips. Breaking the kiss and looking at him with her big grey-blue eyes, reality set in as she noticed the feel of his bare chest against her bare breasts and stomach, and his trousers against her bare legs, and she turned deep crimson in embarrassment as she broke away from Kaius and tried to cover herself with her hands. Eyes darting around, she noticed a nearby bedsheet and grabbed it quickly, shaking off some of the splinters and pebbles and wrapping it around herself before grinning sheepishly at Kaius and saying, "Thank you," and proceeding to follow him into the Common Room, where she quietly got in line with the other girls for roll call. As Elisabeta asked about missing bunkmates, Lilu remembered her crushed bunk, and looked around nervously for sign of Osnat while raising her hand frantically.

Kyrstin had to resisted the instinct to yelped as Kaius nearly fell on top of him. He was denied any retort, however, as the other boy was soon up and running for the girls side of the Barracks. Kyrstin shrugged. He didn't see any reason to rush over there like an idiot. They were only girls and weren't they supposed to take care of themselves? Kyrstin glanced around at the other boys. Most of them were moving now and he couldn't see anyone badly injured. Well, no sense in delaying any longer. He wasn't needed her and that witch was already shouting enough to bring the rest of the mountain down on them!
Trotting out into the Common Room, Kystin ignored Elisabeta's tone and moved into her silly line. He would love to argue with her, but the faster she was happy, the faster he could be on his way to helping people. His observations so far were that the girls had had a worst time of it, but several of the boys were already lending them help. No doubt hoping their bravery would earn them a few steps towards a warm bet. Kyrstin watched Elisabeta fume, his arms crossed indifferently. Technically his roommate wasn't missing so he supposed he didn't have to raise his hand.
He thought about pointing out how much Elisabeta was wasting his time having him here and not helping people, but what was the point? None of the Candidates look so bad that they couldn't wait and how could he treat patients he couldn't even reach? Besides, he wasn't awake enough to get into an argument with the witch tonight. No, tonight most of his ire was reserved for his fellow Candidates. Why were they being so sharding slow about such a simple task! Big babies they were, all of them! Maybe they needed their mother's hear to hold their hands too!

Farryl bit back a cry of pain as she tumbled out the gap in the rocks and onto the hallway floor. Her foot was definitely swollen now, and maybe sprained. She would have to be careful if she didn't want to make it worse. Already she was imagining the tirade she would get from the healers walking on it. Farryl-love? Peppeth's sweet voice was like a light in the darkness. Rakmaninoth's is with the Candidates. They are fine, but will need healers and something to keep them busy. Farryl rolled her eyes. Don't we all, She ripped off a piece of her night gown and tight it tightly around her foot to slow the bleeding. Maybe the Candidates could help dig out some of the riders, but Elisabeta was in a better position to organize that. For now, Farryl limped down the hall with her small glow, checking to see who she could help.
Peppeth, see if you can find out who needs help the most, she asked. She could only do so much with her foot as it was, and only go so far probably before adrenaline failed her. They needed to reach the worse injured first and dig out the rest later. Of course, if they couldn't respond then they probably were pretty bad or worse. I will try, Peppeth promised. Mirazeth is warning about smoke, but I do not see any here, Peppeth sounded worried. So much hurt... she whispered sadly. We'll help them, Peppeth. I promise, Farryl said firmly. If we're not too late, she thought to herself.
Farryl kept going down the hall. It was slow going. Parts had caved in and the smooth floor was littered with rocks. Her small glow did little to keep her from tripping several times. "X'rx? J'on? Anusha?" She called as she went. What if they were all trapped? And what about the fire Mirazeth mentioned on the upper levels? If that spread then they would all be smoked to death. Then she spotted a shadowed form sprinting ahead of her. Doing her best to keep up, Farryl met J'on at the ruins of the stair to the upper level. "J'on? Need help?" She asked, a little breathless. She wasn't sure any help would be enough to clear that mess in time to be useful.

Roisk reached the edge of the canyon at a swift ran, stopping only when they reached one of the entrances to the weyrs below. He and Cerysk could only do so much to start with, but Eikask would send more as soon as they were organized. Roivao surveyed the damage grimly, turning to the greenhandler with him. "Ceryl, you and Cerysk can clear the hall entrance and help the riders. Roisk and I will try to reach some of the dragons." He didn't like divided their forces, but Roisk was too big to be a lot of help in the collapsed halls. His damaged wings could still fly enough to reach the ledges, however.
As Roi scanned the damage for the best place to begin, Roisk reached out to Millieth and Kierjaarth. Speaking to all the dragons at once was difficult and confusing. He would trust these two to know where he would be most needed. Help his coming, he informed them with confidence. They need only tell them who needed it most.
At Roi's urging, the pair glided down to Tenloceth's buried weyr and began carefully clawing and digging the rocks away. Several dragons had made it out safely, they could see and were helping some of the other dragons get free. Roi decided if they wanted to make fewer jumps between to back track, they had best start high.

R'vor had managed to get the smallest of the rocks off of Piwoth's wing, but no matter how much he heaved against the larger boulder, he could not get it to budge. The pain was dulling, but the throbbing continued, getting faster each time the blue strained his wing. Piwoth though in pain, didn't seem to be in any immediate danger. However, there was a small pool of ichor collecting on the wing, the rocks must have cut into Piwoth's hide. "It's alright, help is coming," R'vor whispered to his dragon hoping he would be right.
Piwoth apperantly didn't trust the reliableness of the white Salamandyr that had been dispatched, so took matters into his own hand. He would call for one of the dragons whom he could tolerate, Peppeth Peppeth, when you can lend it, I need help. I'm pinned.

Casandra was all to happy to comply when the candidate master came in, guns blazing. Get to the left side of the room? She was happy too. Do not leave and assist the others, or risk loosing candidicy? Not a problem, like Casandra was planning to lift her pinky to help any of the others while there could still be danger.
But damn, who was her roomate? The other promiscuous one, wasn't it? But what did she look, Casandra really couldn't say. She didn't spend anytime in the shared barracks, instead taking quarters in the various riders weyrs. She scanned the room for someone who looked familiar, and spotted Ivy Who was being carried by a man. She could have him, the blonde thought with distaste. Cainth was definintly not her type, but points to the girl, getting some at a time like this.
~
Unfortunatly for Casiloy, as soon as he started running down the hallways, he was forced to turn right back around and head the other direction, for fear of the Anarchyst Elisabeta burning him with her firey temper. No thank you, he did not really feel at getting yelled. But what about the others?
He took his place in the growing line, searching his companions for Brelis, his bunk mate. Casiloy, his mandyr, had curled himself around his neck snugly, eyes whirling in distress. Boom Boom BOOM goes rock falls falls falls, no shiny BAAAADDDDDD "Shh, help me look," the blonde muttered, tapping the brown on the for head. He really didn't need a loud mandyr to draw the candidate masters attention towards him.
As more and more candidates poored into the room, some of Casiloy's tension eased. But, where was his bunkmate? Casiloy did however spy Kauis, and edged over towards his self appointed bro. "Have you seen Brelis? Casiloy asked, raising his hand int he air, like Elisabeta had said too. "I can't see to find him. You don't think... that he could be trapped?"

At Dsoleth's words, Craivaruth felt a crushing relief. Thank you. He could sense that one of T'san's little ones' lives had been snuffed out and the Blue felt the utmost sympathy for the Brownrider, especially in a crisis like this. Reaching out to J'ash's longtime friend, Craivaruth offered mental support to the Brownrider through his mind presence, hoping that T'san would be in a stable enough condition to help His.
Dust crumbled from the ceiling like heavy snow. J'ash's body laid on the floor for a while, immobile. His eyelids twitched over open, glassy eyes before finally blinking fully, clearing away the dust that was building up against his corneas. Although his eyes had been open, no registration of what he was seeing was occuring. His mind had finally decided to wake up, and it almost made him want to fall back into unconsciousness again. Bright spots decorated his vision, accompanying the worst headache he had ever experienced. The hair resting against the back of his head was knotted and matted with a fair amount of blood. Crai...
The blue-green dragon, who was circling in the air between canyon walls, was overjoyed to feel the (albeit painful) mind presence of his bonded fizzle back into existence. J'ashmine! Everything is going to be fine. Please, hold on, stay where you are. Dsoleth said T'san was coming to rescue you. The Bluerider hardly understood a word that the dragon had said, but instead focused on the fuzzy bond between them.
Confusion set over the blonde. Scared gray eyes darted around the room lethargically. "Hmn," he moaned, unable to actually form coherent words. He had no idea where he was, and had no idea why he felt a part of his mind outside. Who are you? The dragon nearly stopped flying mid-air. What do you mean? Crai, I'm scared. It's okay, Mine, T'san will get you soon. Okay... Who are you? The extremely odd behavior was scary to Craivaruth, who was too upset to reply to His. T'san, something is very wrong with J'ash... he keeps asking who I am. Please hurry.
J'ash attempted to prop himself up but struggled, finding that his right arm had refused to listen to him the first few tries. Once his torso was up, he attempted to shakily stand/pull himself up using the broken frame of his bed. This only lead him to collapse again with disorientation and a severe lack of balance. If he didn't rest for a little while longer... Rest, that seemed like a good idea. J'ash closed his eyes and curled back on the floor, waiting for everything to make sense again.

Mirazeth says you should have a wet cloth. Yeah, well, I got nothing. Yes, I know. Quite fail, aren't you? Yup. Such was the conversation on the short journey to J'ash's weyr. That was, until they found other company. Mirazeth? Your help is most welcome. I am working on it from my side as well. Between the two of us I think we'll be able to get me out soon enough. Most of what had fallen inside were the smaller rocks, though that certainly wasn't true of all of it. Without regard to the smashed weyr behind him, Dsoleth began digging and pulling at things rather than recklessly pushing. That'd be bad for Mirazeth. To Kierjaarth he said, Mirazeth and I are working on freeing myself. Mine is assisting Craivaruth's.
T'san paused and turned back when he heard his name called. "Ah, X'vier. Thanks," he said, taking the offered cloth and putting it to his mouth. It was still as suffocating as the smoke but it was certainly less harmful. The additional comment of the other brownrider was met with a bit of a weak chuckle. "Yes, well, it was either get out mostly unharmed or risk trying to unbury clothes. I don't particularly mind this way." Shameless T'san was shameless. What was so wrong about walking around in the skin he was born with, really? T'san stopped in front of J'ash's door and scratched his chin for a moment, the short overnight stubble offering an interesting sensation. "Mind helping me clear some of this?" He asked of X'vier. With or without help, though, he began moving rubble away from the door and managed to get inside.
When he did get inside he blinked. No wonder Craivaruth had stayed with him mentally, informing him that J'ash was being weird. Even from where he stood for a moment - surveying things - at the entrance to his friend's weyr he could see the dark spot in J'ash's blonde hair. He strode into the room quickly, approaching J'ash's prone figure. "Oi, J'ash. Hit'chyer head hard enough?" The brownrider asked, concerned by the fact that J'ash's eyes were closed. T'san would have glanced at Craivaruth if he was there but...he wasn't so he settled for beginning to slip his arms under his slight friend. Dsoleth would be free soon and he could take J'ash somewhere safe-ish.
----
Ceryl was panting a fair bit by the time she and Cerysk made it to the weyrs with Roivao and Roisk. Thankfully they took a moment to survey things and for Roivao to decide on a course of action and she could regain some of her breath. When he told her what to do the woman nodded. "Alright. Good luck," she said simply and moved towards the entrance with Cerysk. They'd clear down each level as they could and let the other wherhandlers with whers that might actually be able to lift people help with more of the injured. Or let the trapped but uninjured riders help their own. Either way worked for the greenpair.

Orena balked a moment when some wrinkled old crone screamed at her in a rather hoarse sounding voice. Or maybe it was an effect of the irregular stone walls, the dust in the air, and the wailing screams coming from all directions. Either way, she wasn't sure what exactly was what.
She only vaguely recognized her as the candidate master. "I'm glad I was never her student." She muttered under her breath as she darted after L'am. What she was supposed to do with a distressed Rider, she wasn't entirely sure. But it didn't take her but a moment to figure out what was going on. Quite logically, he was getting in the way of his own dragon's rescue.
"YOU IDIOT!" Orena bellowed, in a voice no one knew she'd had. Much less would ever use. Striding up to the distressed rider, she punched him hard in the side, right at the bottom of his ribcage. Not in a location to hurt him, more to get his attention and knock the wind out of him. Mostly so she had half a chance in hell of actually moving him. Grabbing him by his shirt collar, she gave hauling him away her best shot. "Let the dragons rescue the dragons. They're better at it than you, I swear!" Orena barked, though she didn't try to haul him all the way to the barracks ... she knew better. Shards, she'd probably seriously maim anyone that tried to separate her from her trapped dragon. So she didn't try. "Stay calm, just breathe. Talk to him, reassure him. Let the dragons dig." Orena continued in a much softer tone.
Freed to work more industriously, Aonith's shortened digging strokes were lengthened again when the little man (all men were little to dragons?) was more or less knocked out of the way. Tell me what you feel, Jeth. Keep talking. Tell me what you feel. I will try not to add weight to you, I am digging you out as fast as I can. Yours is here, and appears unharmed, if being accosted by a young female. Talk to me. Aonith said, taking some of Dorava's mannerisms for healing to handle the trapped dragon. Distracting him from panicking would always be a good thing. Quickly, she rolled boulders aside, quite grateful for the help she was getting from Lketh.
Dorava blinked at Er'ani for a moment. "How can you really say such a thing? Don't you know your own dragon better than that? Of course they're not too late. Dragons know when dragons are dead, I quite assure you." She reminded, before being distracted by Orena's taking L'am on... in a rather brutal manner. Shards ... no one would ever guess the young woman was being trained as a healer, with mannerisms like that!
"What are you doing?!" Dorava protested, hurrying over to free L'am from Orena's rather rough handling. "That is no way to handle trauma! Go make yourself useful." Dorava ordered, before turning her own attention to L'am. But being an older woman and much more trained in too many interesting ways, she had no problems with maneuvering L'am to a seated position on a nearby boulder that was too far from the walls to be a real threat. "Breathe, talk to me. Aonith and Lketh are digging your dragon out. Tell him that. I need you to concentrate, not panic. Can you tell me what he feels? Ask him if he can feel his tail. Ask him." Dorava encouraged firmly but gently. The faster she knew how much damage the dragon had taken, the better Aonith could handle digging him out, and the better she could start his treatment once he was free.
Here was hoping to Faranth his back was not snapped somewhere.
Not entirely sure what to do now that she'd been shoved away by Dorava, Orena took a look up at the what was left of the Weyr faces. "Holy crap."

We are efficiently stuck. Minth said to Hers, because stating the obvious would most certainly help. She had managed to move the boulder, mostly to rotate it on it's bottom out of the way while Anusha moved what small rocks she could. The wisdom of trying to dig themselves out was probably lacking, as they knew not how to dig through such things safely. In their attempts to free themselves they risked destabilizing the wall, and destabilize it did. With the large stone effectively holding the whole mess together moved, rocks that had looked much smaller grew large and fell. All either of them could do was watch. A rock just smaller than the one she had moved fell on Minth and cracked on her hips before rolling off. It was not strong enough to break the green's pelvis but it would bruise nicely and left scrapes in her right hip. Another fell near the end of her tail and landed on the fork at the end. There was that moment of injury where there was no sensation, then pain exploded as Minth instinctively tried to tug free. There was sick pop before she stopped, clearly in pain. Check it out please, I can not see, the dragon asked, her voice laced with pain. The rider moved closer, holding a glow for light. Where the boulder had landed was difficult to tell. The left fork in Minth's tail was free but curled in pain. The other was crushed and unseen. "I don't think they'll be able to set those bones...if there are bones left," Anusha said. "I'm sorry..." Minth's breath came in slight gasps and she turned an eye on her bonded. It is not your fault, Anusha. I should have waited for a wher. Hindsight.... She rested, slowly sitting down so she would move her tail and hips as little as possible. As much as she disliked the wastelander, she reached out for Quarth, her wingleader, only to find him gone. It gave the green a grim satisfaction to knew he had perished, though the loss of any life was a sad affair. Kierjaarth, it is Minth, because the dragons never really spoke, and he might not know who she is. He was the only other "leading" dragon she could think of to contact. I am trapped in my weyr, middle cave on the bottom level. I am wounded. A stone has crushed the end of my tail. She had no true idea as to why she was telling him. I can not feel Quarth and believe he has perished. I tell you so that Mine and I are accounted for. If he sent help, cookies for him, for it would be much appreciated. ~*~ Receiving orders, Emiliah and Emilisk traveled to the Western Canyon Weyrs. In a bid to save time, the wher had made Hers ride her, for she was faster than the girl's silly legs. The green swiftly scaled the canyon face to the bottom two levels. The faster they could clear these ways, the faster their trapped in habitants could be freed before the caves, well, caved in. She extended her mind, tentatively, to ask if anyone needed help. She was near the waterfall. She set to digging the first weyr that seemed the least blocked. It would be the quickest to clear should any lives be within. Emiliah watched as the most prominent of her two mindmates set to work (as Shrew refused to be moved and thus clung around the girl's neck). She hadn't thought to bring a pick or shovel, and it was too late now to fetch one. She observed the wall, instead, for weaknesses and dangers as Emilisk dug. Most of the stones were small, easily moved by dragon or mining wher. Once the residents within told them what was needed she would be able to better direct the pale green. If no one was within, they would clear the way until someone called for help. At least to have less work later in making the canyon walls inhabitable again. ((In case I am not here for the next round, as I strongly doubt I will be, someone can say that Emilisk helped dig them out and then moved on to another weyr. Kier can respond to Minth and tell her...whatever. If the thread is still active when I get back, I'll have her dug out, if not it can be assumed that she was freed and that she sought help for her injuries. <3))

Well, it wasn't great, and every single one of these candidates would rue the day they didn't follow Elisabeta's instructions perfectly (they would find out exactly how many times they could drill assembling in various formations sooner than they'd like), but it would do for now. Standing in front of the candidates, arms behind her back, Elisabeta started issuing orders, much calmer now that everyone had stopped being quite so stupid.
"Vellani, Rosanna, Ivy. You'll stay here and wait for Whers to take you to the surface. Once I am gone, if you run across anyone else, you will instruct them to do the same." Scanning the ranks of candidates, she made a face when she realized how many were missing. "Lilu, Casandra, and any other girls who are able to walk, you will search the Barracks for those that are missing. If you are unable to find them, I want a complete list of their names. You may then follow the other girls to the surface." With the girls deployed, she turned to the boys. "The rest of you boys, go out into the halls and attempt to clear any rubble you can so people can get out. I stress, however, that you must be as careful as possible. Remember," she added with a disapproving look at the three injured females, "Injured candidates are not allowed to stand until they recover. Go."
As the candidates hopped to, she pointed at Kyrstin and Kaius, saying, "Not you, or you. Kyrstin, you are a Healer, unless I am mistaken? Stay here, do what you can for the girls, then get to the surface as quickly as possible. Whers will be able to take you where you are needed from there. You are a Healer tonight, not a Candidate. Do what you must." If it was possible for Elisabeta to look approving, she did. At least one Candidate seemed to know what he was about. Must be Northern. Her expression shifted dramatically, however, when it settled on Kaius. "I gave you an explicit order, boy," she hissed, "And you defied me in an emergency situation. The Weyr will not waste time on such idiocy. An act of thoughtless 'heroism' like that could have doomed your entire Wing, were this battle. We will discuss your options when everything is sorted out - ride up with the injured girls, like the useless fool that you are. I expect no further disobedience."
And that was that. Leaving Kaius behind without another word, Elisabeta strode out the door, barely keeping herself from running. Rakmaninoth was nearly free, but the green was becoming more and more anxious - and furious - every second she spent without her Rider. As Elisabeta shoved herself through the door of her room, Rakmaninoth finally broke free, and Elisabeta wasted no time mounting. Who is trapped? I have not yet heard from Demotaeth. As good a place to start as any.
((Riders: Beta's free now if you need her. You can GM her if you would like, just remember she's cranky as all hell. Feel free to decide if/when your ledge gets cleared or your rider is free. As per Ember's post in the announcement, West Side will start their own base camp on the cliff above the weyr so those with nothing to do can head there and start figuring out who's alive.
Candidates: Girls looking for other Candidates should remember that Armind is dead... feel free to find him and cause drama and/or trauma. Since Sheari may or may not miss the next round and gave permission for GMing, I'm gonna borrow Emiliah and Emilisk to evac the injured girls and Kaius.))

J’on blinked at the sound of a female voice behind him and looked up. He could barely move any of the rubble anyway, even with the whole hearted help of Flash and J’ash’s firelizards so it wouldn’t matter if he stopped for a while. For a long moment he just looked at Farryl, then burst into a flaming blush as he realised he was running around in just his underwear. ‘Um. No, I don’t think we can clear this on our own. I have no idea how far along it’s collapsed. I, uh, didn’t think this out too well.’ J’on blushed even harder to admit it and reached out for Rinagth to cover his confusion.
About time J’on. My efforts in digging have been rather more sucessful than yours. Not too many rocks fell in front of our weyr, I have cleared an exit big enough for the pair of us and anyone else who might want to leave. Except a fatty gold obviously. Rinagth’s digging efforts had left something of a trail of destruction across the rest of the weyr but there was now a way out.
‘Ah, Rinagth’s made a way out from our weyr.’ J’on said after lengthly pause to listen to his green. ‘Is Peppeth alright? If she can get down the corridors she can get out there.’ As helpful offers went if wasn’t much but J’on was hardly thinking clearly, he was more interested in plotting new ways to get up to the third floor. ‘Guys, go outside, and Tux, you take Flash please. Flash, no biting.’ The greenrider finally gained enough wits to send the firelizards outside and since they were going sent Flash with them, Tux could be relied upon, for some reason he adored the cranky ‘mandyr. Rinagth, could you let Craivaruth know I can’t get to J’ash from here?
With the firelizard crowd safely outside (or at least he assumed so), Flash out of the way, and Rinagth passing on his message, J’on turned his attention back to Farryl. ‘Um, do you need help with anything?’ he asked, deciding to ignore his state of dress for now, it wasn’t like anyone was fully dressed.
While Mo’rya limped around his room, trying to work out which foot to limp on for the least pain and found something to bind his feet up with Epifayrmuth had been hard at work on the rock blocking their ledge, digging carefully from the top down. Luckily for the small bronze the top part at least was not blocked with huge lumps of rock and he was able to make a space big enough for a blue sized bronze to ooze out into the moonlight. Mo’rya. Make haste, I wish to be gone from here and now we can go. The young bronze summoned his rider with a quite confidence, and once Mo’rya had hobbled across the weyr and mounted he pushed himself off his rockpile and drifted over the weyr.
Epifayrmuth here. The area at the top of the canyon seems fairly stable. I suggest those who have escaped gather there. It may be dangerous to remain in this area. The small dragon adressed everyone he could reach with all the authority he could muster. Calm and organised, that was the way.

Kyrstin crossed his arms, listening with some impatience as Elisabeta gave out orders. He wasn't so much impatient with her, for all she was a woman, but if his fellow candidates had been quicker, this would be done already! He frowned, however, at the order for the boys to help dig out the wounded came. Fools! Didn't they know they couldn't waste him on such menial labor? He opened his mouth to voice the argument, but the Candidate Master beat him too it. Ah, she had thought of it. He nodded in grudging respect and started moving.
Rosanna was first, since she looked the worst. He waved for Kaius to help the girl lay down on the floor where he could get a better look. If he cared for Elisabeta's punishment for the other boy, he made no sign. Uncaring of Rosanna's modesty, he gently checked her over. The arm was certainly broken, and pretty badly by the look of it. He could split it here, but he would much rather do it where he could better see what he was doing. A few ribs were cracked too, but her breathing still seemed strong. Kyrstin grabbed a sheet someone had dragged with them and ripped it into strips. Efficiently and without comment, he folded Rosanna's arm onto her chest and bound it tight against her body, careful not to damage the injured rips. It probably hurt...a lot. If she was lucky, she would faint before they got to the even more painful setting process. Nodding, Kyrstin waved at Kaius. "Go with her," he instructed. It was not a request. So long as he was here, he would make himself useful and be sure she didn't fall off the wher. Besides, he had got to all that trouble to rescue her in the first place.

Farryl glanced first and J'on and then at the impassible rock wall in front of them. She shrugged dismissively at his answer and his dress. She wondered how long he'd been working at this before he'd come to that obvious conclusion. Granted, she couldn't really complain, since she hardly had a plan herself. Well, they couldn't stay here, so the Candidate Barracks were probably they're best bet. Then J'on relayed some good news. Ringath had a way out. "She's fine," Farryl nodded, almost smiling with relief. Finally some good news! "If I can clear our door, than I'm sure she'll fit for a short way. Go on! We'll catch up!"
Peppeth had already heard the suggestion and was busily digging away the rocks at the door. I am coming, Piwoth! she called, trying to reassuring. Farryl arrived to see the green nose poking into the hall. Farryl-love! Piwoth needs our help! "Then we'd better hurry. Can you fit?" Peppeth shoved her tiny frame through the door. Farryl winced at the scraps on her wings and belly. The hall was bigger, but only just. It was a good thing Ringath's weyr wasn't far!
Farryl held the glow before her as Peppeth clawed and pushed her way down the hall. By the time they reached the cleared weyr, the small green's belly was covered in deep scratches, but she had at least managed to save her wings. Farryl-love, Peppeth hesitated as Farryl gave her a quick check before mounting. She had heard Epifayrmuth's call to meet on the surface. Your foot. Should you see a healer? Farryl shook her head and mounted. "Piwoth first, than a healer for both of us," she said, sounding more confident than she felt. What if they couldn't free Piwoth? What if the healers were injured themselves or worse? Too many unknowns and too little time.
~
Roisk continued to dig through the rocks, using his considerable size to his advantage. Some weyrs were empty, but he was certain this one contained life and he would find them. The fact that they didn't respond to his calls meant the need was all the more dire. Roivao labored next to him, clearing the debris throw back by piling it to one side and insuring it didn't fall back into the hole. Suddenly, Roisk smelt dragon and another layer of rock reviled the brown hide of Tenloceth. They were coming! Roisk crooned fiercely. He and Roi quickly starting clearing more rocks from the dragon's body. Just hang on a little longer!

"Uuhh..." Rubble slid off the woman's back as she stirred, sending up little plumes of dust as the small pieces of rock clattered to the floor. What had happened? "Ma!" "Mmm..." "Mama!" The Weyrwoman opened her eyes, and was startled into conciousness by the big frightened brown ones staring right back at her. "Kai... are you okay?" "Fine... you didn't wake. I got scared." Sitting up, Kaegan groaned, there was a slight throbbing in her head that couldn't have been caused by anything normal. Mine! Mine you are awake! Oh good, oh thank Farnath. Mine are you okay? Are you hurt? Millieth? I'm fine, what happened? There was a huge Earthshake! Like the one that hit our mines, but a lot bigger. Many people are injured and more are trapped. I've been talking to different Dragons trying to find things out while you were gone from me. Can you get to me? Looking around her with one hand clamped to her head and the other around Kai, the Weyrwoman shifted uncomfortabley. "Mama yer leaking..." Touching her forehead where her son pointed she looked at the blood that her hand came away with. "So I am. But I'm okay love. We'll be okay." Collecting the shaking boy into her arms, she winced as he pressed into a sore spot but said nothing.
They were in one of the corners in the main room, but surrounding them (and blocking any escape) were huge boulders. They were big enough even that Kaegan couldn't climb over them, especially not with Kai. It looks like we'll need some help. I will alert Kierjaarth and Quarth, they will call for a Wherhandler pair to come help you. Thanks... "Azzie?" No answer. "Dash?" No answer. "Soleil?" There was a clatter of rocks and the sound of scrambling claws before Kaegan saw the snout of her dog poke between two of the rocks. "Hi baby. Look Kai, its Sol." Her son chanced a peak from inside his mother's curls when the dog whined. "Soleil, find Dash. Find Azaran. Seek boy, seek."
Keirjaarth, Quarth, Rakmaninoth. Mine is trapped in her personal Weyr. She is not seriously injured but neither can she escape. I request assistance Wherhandler or otherwise. She contacted the three dragons, and whoever else was close by her human's dwelling.

Wake up! You must arise! SHREEEEK. Ithanna would be lying if she said everything but the screetch of her Firelizard rousted her from the perfectly happy dream she'd been having, but in truth, Laverna's ear splitting cry had done the trick. Sitting up only to smack her head on a rock, the Greenrider cursed so loudly and with such a vile tone that most sailors would have been put to shame. Mine, free Enki from this rock. Crushing me to little bits... Glancing around, Ithanna located her Salamandyr and carefully lifted the small rock from the Blue's back, trying not to hurt him more. Turning away from the male, Ithanna steadied herself against what was left of her poor wooden desk and threw up. Being dizzy caused nauseia, and it caused... well you know. When she was done retching up whatever had been left in her stomach from the last time she ate, Ithanna sat down against a boulder and gently lifted Enki into her lap. Laverna was soon to join them, limping as she favored her front right foot. Her left wing was also left dragging while the rigt one was tucked tightly against her body. "Oh my poor kittens." She added the firelizard to her lap. Iwyrth are you alright? Mine! Oh Mine, I am glad that you're awake. I am fine, I think I may have broken a toe, but nothing serious. Do you be fine? I'm okay... ish. I will be fine. I'm just dizzy from a bonk on the head. I must have down right blacked out. The littles are in worse condition. Are you free? Yes, our Weyrledge is completely sealed, I can'na land there. I am close by.
Resting her head back against the shattered remnents of her cot, she recoiled slightly as she remembered there had once been a medical bag hanging from the footboard. Carefully, so as not to jostle her pets anymore than needed, Ithanna scoured the imediet area for the tan canvas sack. "There you are..." It was in reach, but barely. She nearly dumped Laverna out of her lap as she hooked two of her fingers around the strap of the bag. Drawing it to her, she righted herself and her pets. The small vile of numbweed she kept had shattered, but other than a few crushed rolls of bandage, the rest of her pack was unruffled. Quickly she got to work on her mindmates, popping Laverna's wingjoint back into place and setting it and her foot so they would heal right. She could do little for Enki but rub a little numbweed on the most painful area's. He would be fine, bruised for a while, but fine.
By the time she was finished, Ithanna's dizziness had faded, allowing her to stand up and move around as soon as she tucked her pets into a large stable pack she was able to recover from the rubble. "Lets go lovelies." Slowly she made her way over around and even under some of the debris the Earthquake had shaken loose, until she got a message from Iwyrth that Castidenloth's rider wasn't responding to him. Carefully she made her way two doors down, and began to search for the man. Finding him passed out cold and burried under a blanket of small rocks, none of which looked hard to move.

So, this is what it felt like to be a dispatcher? How fun. All sorts of reports were coming in from just about every side - even from the whers, which prompted from the bronze a subtle sort of mental nudge of thanks to the them. Mi'rah was taking it all in stride, pondering on Kierjaarth's relays as he sagely tapped his fingers together. First things first, the dragon had to reach out to the healers, even flitting between for a moment to appear over the infirmary and survey the damage there too. It seemed that they were in a near equal state of disrepair, but the message was sent out anyway, Healers, when you have dealt with your own do not forget to send us some assistance... As if they needed any more motivation he added, Our Weyrwoman is trapped after all...
Speaking of which, that was the next order of business. The bronzepair reappeared back over where his ledge once was before turning to look next door at their fine neighbors, ah yes, a gold to save. While Kierjaarth was just as willing - if not more - to run to Minth's assistance, rank unfortunately had to play a role. The others were to help the sweet green who begged him assistance and so he bespoke all the dragon he had mentally marked as free or at least almost free, Before everyone meets, whomever is free should assist Minth. She had a bottom floor weyr, it may take quite a bit of digging. No more than two dragons should help, with one of our night-kin to assist perhaps... With that he moved to Millieth's own pile of rocks and began grasping at the destructing one clawfull at a time, One other could help me remove Millieth too...
--
Sometimes, a girl had to use the latrine. Osnat just so happened to need to use it when an earthquake struck. Perhaps it was for the best though, since little did she know, her bunk had been smashed into little bitty bits, but don't tell her that, she was convinced that this situation sucked regardless. Separated from everyone else and just trying to get through the hallway, the woman tried to squeeze her way between close quarters and follow her sailor's sense of direction towards other human beings. Down the long corridor that led to the bunks she finally belted out, "Hey! Yooooooo! Someone help a sister out!"
She was uninjured thankfully, but she didn't know how long that dubious distinction would last if she was left to starve to death in this war zone.
