X'vier promptly helped T'san remove the rocky rubble from J'ash's door. He held his glow up so the T'san could see the room. J'ash's body was easy to find, but the lad was completely knocked out. J'ash's room looked just as bad as his own. Didn't anyone escape this with out giant rocks falling on top of them? Not likely he mused. Dsoleth's entrance is almost clear. Mirazeth informed him. A moment to focus on his dragon told him Mirazeth was still rocking large chunks off the ledge, but there was now a hole opening into the entrance. He could hear Dsoleth inside.
Mirazeth tensed and pushed. The rocks slid off the ledge. He thought he could see Dsoleth's head through the hole. He sent the other dragon a burst of encouragement and lifted off. If the dragon pushed, he may be able to shove the last few chucks out to where Mirazeth had been a crawl out.
Passion crooned to Sammy the green and Vellani and snuggled up to her. His tail was conveniently curled near the green. He felt warm in both Lady's feelings towards him. What could be better than two beautiful ladies? (Except more beautiful ladies or ladies with food of course) (ooc: Ani can have him move elsewhere or worry over her ankle if you want)
~~~~~
Kyanus chirped in excitement as Roisk began digging. His and the dragon where saved! He peeked his head over the bed to watch the Wher move rocks with speed, chirping and twittering the closer the Wher got. When Roisk got close enough to see Tenloceth the blue flitter left the bed-and his chewed on rock behind. His had to be there! He moved a pepple, then another, then another. Kyanus didn't like working, but he was very worried his Bonded.
Roisk's croon reached Tenloceth's ears. The dragon coughed, trying to shift but weight was still pressing in all around except for his head nobs. He shook his head a little and managed to lift it a little. It was so hard to breath! The smoky atmosphere in the room didn't make his problem any easier. Hard to breath. He informed Roisk with a strong pulse of gratefulness to the Wher. Mine is in rock too. Not sure where though. He's unconscious. Something didn't feel right about His. But M'ze was alive. They could go from there. He lay his head back on the rock. He was so tired. So, so tired.
Lketh paused in his digging when the fragile human part of the blue pair bond came onto the scene. The albino had been working diligently alongside Aonith up until that point but he would rather not risk crushing the small human with removed rocks or a poorly timed swipe. A chirp was offered L’am before the pale dragon turned his head to regard his. Ermine please stop gawking at the damage and thinking about Nitrath’s. Jeth’s human bond is in our way. Unless you wish him to be crushed I suggest you move him. With that Lketh repositioned himself and cocked his head to try and determine the best angle to attack the pile of rubble at again. The green beside him was already speaking to the injured dragon himself and so the albino blue merely brushed soothing calm against Jeth’s mind and went back to work, being careful in the way he removed the rocks from the older dragon’s body.
Er’ani flushed slightly when Dorava spoke and then ran a hand through his hair. “Well I didn’t mean he was dead yet. I just mean that that’s an awful lot of rocks and we don’t know how bad the damage done to him is yet.” Which yeah now that the words were out of his mouth the didn’t really sound any better then when they had exited it. Sometimes the albinorider had pretty bad insert foot and mouth moments. Thankfully he was rescued from further having to talk to the older greenrider when Orena suddenly started all but attacking L’am. Blinking at the younger greenrider Er’ani flinched. Damn. What had the poor distraught guy done to deserve that? But it seemed that Dorava had already left his side and had the younger woman well in hand. Good.
When Dorava took L’am to the side and began gently talking to him Er’ani wandered over to Orena. Glancing up at the destroyed face of the canyon as well he cleared his throat to try and get her attention. “Holy crap is right.” Swallowing he glanced at Lketh. And you’re sure Caden is okay? How about M'ta? Leilani? M'ze? Mo'rya? Yes. If Nitrath or any of the others had gone I would feel it. Stop distracting me. I will contact the others as soon as we free Jeth. Priorities Ermine.
Darmori had mounted Darmosk as soon as they had gotten orders from Eikask, leaving Harmony behind to smother her bronze mate. The large gold had immediately pounced upon Imp as he had appeared and was currently both scolding him for being away from her and then adoring him in equal overflows of emotion. The boy sure hoped that not all females got that way when they were going to have babies. Currently however he had to concentrate on holding on because Darmosk was running full tilt for the weyr.
Wings spread as the large bronze leapt, talons digging into the stone face of the canyon has he hauled himself to the top ledge by ledge, Darmori clinging to his back like it was the most natural thing in the world to do. Slow by nature the blonde had still not completely grasped the direness of the situation they were in. To be honest he might never get it. The bronzehandler was better at following specific orders then he was at thinking.
Darmosk offered a light touch to Kierjarrth’s mind as he neared the upper level weyrs. He would start clearing out the large golden one’s living place from the inside. Slipping over the lip of the canyon the bronze wher dove down the tunnel entrance to the inside and made his way to the blockage in front of the Weyrwoman’s door. Pausing only long enough to let Darmori dismount the metallic male began to industriously start clearing a path to the goldrider’s door.
Though he was a bit nervous about being right outside arguably the most important person in the weyr’s door, the handler raised his voice so that hopefully Kaegan could hear him. “Hang on Weyrwoman! Darmosk and I are working on getting you out.” With those words spoken the blonde began to help his wher, shoving what rocks he could to either side of the hallway. They needed to get her out before another quake possibly hit.
Cainith nodded as Elisabeta gave out her orders, and walked carefully towards a still-intact table in the common room, where he carefully sat Ivy down on the edge. Taking his blanket off, he ripped it along the edge easily, tearing a 4-inch wide strip off before draping the rest about Ivy's shoulders to help cover her, then tying the strip around his face like a bandanna. Appearing like some kind of giant, shirtless bandit, he said to Ivy, "You should be okay here until the whers arrive to take you out. Just... stay safe," he concluded, before pausing in thought, then seeming to decide something before lifting his mask and moving his face to Ivy's to give her a deep kiss. As he broke the kiss, he said, "In case something happens, I want that to be my last memory," and turned to head down the hallway towards the rider's weyrs.
Moving carefully down the hallway, he walked softly and listened carefully for any sounds of stone shifting or pebbles sprinkling the floor, and came to Anusha's room. Seeing the doorway was blocked, he cupped his hand around his mouth and whispered loudly, "Stand back from the debris near the door, I'm clearing it!" Starting at the smaller rocks near the top, he quickly but carefully began clearing the stones blocking the door to Anusha's weyr, his powerful muscles making short work of the heavy rock, which he deposited carefully to the side so as to not block the hallway any further.
Biting her lip nervously as Elisabeta gave her orders, Lilu nodded slowly to herself, and began to head back towards the Candidate Barracks. As she passed Kaius, she carefully passed King back across to the young man, and gave him a sorrowful expression before whispering, "I think you did right," then glancing towards Elisabeta to make sure she wasn't overheard before giving Kaius one final sad glance, readjusting her makeshift blanket toga, and heading back through the door into the female Barracks.
Grabbing a glow basket on her way in, she moved quickly and carefully through the rubble to the remains of her crushed bunk. Poking at the rubble and splintered wood, she whispered quietly, "Osnat, are you in there?" Peeking around with her glow, she noticed no blood, and heard no responses, so hoped that the tomboyish girl was somewhere else and decided that, since she was here, to dig through her (thankfully uncrushed) foot locker and find some clothing. Dropping her blanket to the ground, she quickly got dressed in a long-sleeved blouse, a pair of tight cotton slacks, and her sturdiest wherskin boots, deciding that in this one occasion practicality trumped fashion. As she was finishing getting dressed, she heard Osnat's voice echo through the hallway. Perking up, she rushed towards the direction the voice came from, quietly whispering out, "Osnat, is that you? You're okay?"
Ivy's heart sank when the harpy of a Candidatemaster informed them that injured Candidates would not be permitted to Stand. Like hell she wouldn't be Standing! This would be the last turn she was allowed on the Sands (assuming they still existed, she hadn't even paused to consider the damage the weyr as a hole had suffered) and she wasn't going to miss out just because of a silly twisted ankle. Cainith set her down and then kissed her - to which she blushed before pulling him back in for a deeper kiss. When he pulled away she offered a reassuring smile before watching him walk off.
Sitting on the table she leaned forward and poked her ankle - only to hiss as pain spiked and radiated through her ankle and shot up her leg. Shards, it might be worse than she thought. Not broken though, or at least she figured. She could wiggle her toes and rolled her foot a bit to test how hurt she actually was. Hm. Pressure seemed to be the only real cause of pain at the moment. Probably just a sprain, right? Those didn't take long to heal, did they?
Glancing to one of the male Candidates - Kyrstin she thought his name was, she was going to ask but then saw he was busy with someone more seriously injured. So biting her lip she just sat there, feeling completely useless and hoping Cainith didn't get hurt helping others get free.
-------------------------------------------------
Serring pulled away as August finally woke up and sat up to dress. Blinking a few times he just stared at the other Candidate in disbelief. Really? Did he not have eyes? Stepping back a bit he looked around. "Well... there was an earthquake... a big one..."
Really he shouldn't have to explain this to the other boy - maybe he had been hit on the head or something in his sleep?
"You alright? Like, really? Head hurt or anything?" Serring was honestly concerned about the other young man, since he seemed super oblivious to his surroundings. Still since August was awake now and he wasn't one who enjoyed being in trouble he nodded towards the hallway leading to the common room, "She wants us out there, if you're alright I'll meet you there."
With that he left August behind and made it into the common room in time to hear Elisabeta giving off orders. Looking around he saw other Candidates in different states of dress - some were injured, some were dirty, some were shaken up, others seemed just fine. But some of them were definitely missing. After Elisabeta was done talking he approached her, "August is on his way ma'am, I think. He didn't seem to know that all of Pern had been shaking in his sleep..."
That out of the way he set off down the hallway after Cainith, stopping to help move the rubble out of the way of the hallway while he cleared the way into a rider's weyr. He wasn't a weakling but he definitely wasn't as strong or as fast as the larger man - so he'd help where he could.
----------------------------------------------
Tavis looked around and tried to recall who his bunk mate was. Really it didn't matter to him right now. He wanted OUT of here, NOW. He considered faking an injury for a moment so he could go out with the three hurt girls, but then decided against it. Elisabeta would skin him alive later if she found out he had been faking it. So instead he just stayed quiet and once some of the other guys headed towards the halls he followed behind. Carefully. Slowly. Shards if he was going to get injured for real trying to help someone else he didn't even know.
Apima pet Hers' cheek but stayed quiet - thankfully. Really her silence was a HUGE blessing to Tavis and all the others around, even if they didn't realize it.
Kaius’ rescue of Rosanna was momentarily sidetracked by the kiss Lilu planted on him. He hadn’t expected this, but simply stock stock still, holding onto Rosanna, who was unfortunately caught between the pair of them. A blush came to his cheeks when he finally realized that Lilu was almost completely nude. Her bare chest against his sent tingles along his spine, and for a moment, he felt like he might just fall over. Fortunately, the girl realized that she was nearly nude and covered herself up quickly. Recovering a little more slowly than that, Kai flashed Lilu a grin and turned, hearing her follow him into the common room.
He would proceed to set Rosanna down with the other injured girls, and then go stand in line next to Kyrstin. He did not speak to the other boy as he stood there, only watched as Casiloy came over to him. For once, he was glad to see the flamboyant boy was alright. He shook his head somberly, looking towards the boy’s barracks, hoping that Cas’ roommate wasn’t injured somewhere in there. Then Elisabeta dismissed them all in turn. He was pleased when he was given the task of rescuing others, but as he started to move, the candidate master stopped him. What was this? Glancing over to her, he watched as she gave Kyrstin a different job, and for a moment, he wondered what she would ask him to do. He didn’t have any special skills. Still, he was hopeful that she would have a new way to help when she turned to him.
Her expression caused those hopes to drain right out. First a hint of confusion, then outrage came over his face. Balling his fists, he narrowed his eyes. “ Thoughtless? That girl could have died if it hadn’t been for me!” He hissed as she spoke of options. Why did he need “options”? He had done what she’d told, just after he sharding SAVED someone’s life! King clung to his head, where he had scrambled up to when Lilu passed him off. hissing expletives at the cranky candidatemaster. Glaring daggers into the bitch’s back, Kai dug his fingernails into his palms and spoke slowly and dangerously, “ And what did she do? Besides wailing orders like some dying tunnelsnake? I didn’t see her get up off her ass to actually try and save anyone.” He wasn’t talking to anyone in particular. Definitely not Kyrstin. The other boy wouldn’t care what happened to him, especially when he had been commended by the candidate master.
He glared at Kyrstin as the boy spoke. Who the sharding hell was he to be giving anyone orders? For a moment, he looked angry enough to actually hit the other boy, but silently, but fuming, he turned around and went with Rosanna out. He didn’t need to make a scene right now, especially when he had just gotten in trouble for trying to save’s someone’s life.
For once, Vellani was silent. She stood meekly there, not seeing her bunkmate. Sammy flitted around her neck and Passion was placidly wrapped around her neck, like he was protecting her. A little more stunned into silence, she accepted the candidate master’s words, vaguely sharing Ivy’s thought process. No twisted ankle would keep her off the sands. She would even fake it if she had to. After orders were given out, she briefly thought about going with the other girls to see if she could find her bunkmate, but she saw what happened to Kaius and accepted the fact that she had to go where she needed to go.
When the wher cam to take them out, Ani would go silently, content in the presence of Sammy and Passion.
August was still half asleep, so when he hustled into the common room, he stood there with a groggy but bored expression on his face. When he finally found out what was going on, he was frantic to go find Sydney. He didn’t want to go clear rubble, he wanted to go find his sister, dammit, but he knew that if anything had happened to her, that he would know. Resigning to the fact that he would have to clear rubble before he was free to reunite with her, he finally did something with passion. He would work his fingers to the bone for the chance to make sure that Sydney was fine.
L’am was currently ignoring everything around him as he shoved rocks and stone off of the pile that held Jeth captive. He could still feel the blue’s mind. It was a tenuous thing, pulsing but faint. He knew they had to get him out of the rubble soon, so he franticly began shoveling rocks. He ignored Orena’s yell from somewhere behind him, only giving her attention when she punched him hard. Turning frantic and enraged eyes towards the woman, he seemed like he would knock her to the ground in an attempt to get back to help his dragon. It was then that Dorava intervened. For once, L’am was glad. He wouldn’t have to get in trouble for hitting a girl.
Without words, he let Dorava maneuver him to the rock. His hands were cut and bleeding, but he ignored them as he placed them on his knees, smearing blood on his trousers and chest and whatever he decided to touch. Nodding, he closed his eyes, focusing on Jeth’s bond while the dragons worked. Jeth. How are you. Tell me where it hurts. Tell the dragons. We’ll get out out, I promise. Jeth’s voice was soft. He didn’t have the mental focus to speak to just one being, so his voice was softly projected into the minds of anyone who cared to listen. Everything hurts…no, my legs. My forelegs. I think I may have landed on them when I fell. And my tail…I can’t feel my tail. L’am’s heart sank. Without a tail…without a tail, he’d flay anyone who even tried to get close to his dragon, he thought in a rage. He forced himself to keep calm for Jeth’s sake. Anything else? My wings are fine. I kept them folded while I was falling…I think. They don’t hurt in any case. My head hurts a lot though, I think something fell on it.[/color] “ Which would explain why you didn’t respond to me.” L’am said softly to himself, but aloud. “ He’s fine…he’s fine…” He said to Dorava, even though she would have heard his report. It was like a great weight had been lifted off his chest.
Soon, the dragons would begin to see dark blue hide, nearly black and covered in dust. As the rubble would be cleared from around him, Jeth would lift his head a little too quickly and try to stand up to get to L’am, causing both dragon and man to cry out in pain. “ Jeth…” L’am would call, rising to his feet despite immense pain, do fall at the feet of the dragon, who had fallen back down from the pain in his head and legs.
"No, wait!!" Dorava protested as L'am moved to get up. Lurching after him in his sudden movement that she hadn't expected (though she really should have), she managed to wrap her arms around his chest from behind when he started to fall, saving him from crashing into the ground and gaining new injuries atop the ones he already had. She grunted at the impact and sudden weight, but her strength held. Slowly, she hauled him away from the falling rocks again, setting him down on softer soil as her Dragon and one other continued to dig Jeth out.
Hold tight, I see you. Aonith said, proving her statement true by snuffling the dusty hide she was revealing, while her front feet continued to pile away stones. More carefully now she moved, less frantically. Hold still until you are completely free. she suggested when he tried to haul himself out prematurely.
"He can feel, good. That means his spine is more or less intact. His tail ... maybe it's pinched. Or traumatized. There's more than one reason for not being able to feel something." Dorava said, speaking more to L'am than to the dragon. They would both hear anyway, and she needed to distract the rider until his dragon was clear.
"We'll have to look at his legs, they might be badly bruised." Dorava continued, knowing better than to suggest that they might be broken - that was not an encouraging thing to say, though she feared it was true. "Tell me about his head. How badly does it hurt, is it difficult to focus them?" She asked, trying to keep both occupied now. At the bellows of pain from them, she straightened slightly, glancing at the dragon. Turning back to L'am, she stripped her shirt off and rolled it up before wrapping it around first one of his hands, and then using the other half to do his other hand too. "Hold onto this, and don't let go. It is imperative that you do this, if you want the use of your hands for the rest of your life. Hold on, and don't shift your grip. I am going to go look at your dragon now, okay? Trust me, you're going to be alright." Dorava assured him, before looking up at Orena for a moment before whirling about to sprint to where Jeth was.
He's mostly free now. Aonith observed, rolling one of the last few boulders away and off of his tail.
"Easy, big fella. Let me see what you've got here, and then we're going to try to get you to a more stable location, okay?" Dorava said soothingly as she edged closer to the wounded beast. Though smarter than typical animals, dragons could still lash out unthinkingly when in pain, so she exercised some caution still. Quickly, she assessed the damages to his head, front legs, and tail. Though for right now she just needed to know about his legs and head. The tail, strictly speaking, wasn't imperative for his moving away from the landslide.
Orena looked over at Er'ani when he spoke up, and offered him the briefest of smiles. "Do you think they can fix .... it?" Her voice faltered, hesitated, and then finished before a whole other expression crossed her features. She staggered on her feet for a moment, grasping for anything that was there, but there was nothing but open air. "No..." She started, before collapsing toward the ground with a strangled wail of her own.
For back in her weyr, trapped behind heaps of rock, sheltering her head and tail from falling stone as instructed, Riavorth had ceased to function. The green beast had run out of air, her weyr was so well sealed off, and had first gone to sleep, and then simply stopped. She had used up every scrap of air sufficient to keep her going faster than it could be replenished from any leaky sources. She had passed on so peacefully that she hadn't even realized that she was, and as a result had never betweened, her body resting there on the stone as if she were merely sleeping under the cover of her protective wings.
As of yet unknown, the bird was also dead, sprawled out on the floor where it had died first from lack of air. Gerroff had made a quick exit wrapped around Chubby's neck, however, and the two mindmates made a quick appearance in Orena's vicinity though both were still utterly concerned and scared over the world turning upside down, beside themselves with worry, terror, and grief shared with Orena.
Piwoth bulged in thanks, his panic lessening slightly as Peppeth replied his call for help. R'vor allowed himself to relax his muscled slightly, uncurling from the clenched position he was holding and grunted in affirment. "Hold on a bit longer Piwoth," R'vor muttered, pushing himself to this feet to examine the fallen rocks. If Piwoth could only free his wing, then they would be able to get out of the ledge, though dare say the pair would suffer a couple of scratches and bruises in the process.
Piwoth strained again, eyes whirlling red in distress as he once again failed. The blue hated not being in control of situations, and feeling helpless as he was now, was only going to make him more irritable. Quickly Peppeth, it hurts,. "No," the blue rider said, tell her if others are worse off to help them more." Piwoth considered complying, but was interrupted as he felt another dragon pass. NO! He trumpeted in sorrow, resuming his struggles with renewed figor. He had to get out. R'vor shut his eyes and tried desperately to block out the keening. How many more were going to be lost?
Casiloy was for once, willing to follow the taskmaster's order. Clear the ruble, he could do that. The boy was about to rush off to work on the task but lingered as he saw Elisabeta turn to Kaius. His expression turned grim as she issued his punishment. They needed all the help they could get clearing the ruble- yes the other candidate had defied a direct order, but was it necessarily to punish him now? Casiloy didn't think so, but opted not to tell this to Elisabeta, for risk of reprimand.
Casiloy followed Tarvis and beginning moving ruble immediatly, disregarding Elisabeta's statement about hurt candidates not standing. He would be careful, sure, but he happened to get injured helping others, so be it.
~
Go find injured candidates, right. Casandra was not all heartless, though she hated that she actually was worried about her fellow candidates who had not made an appearance, so she walked slowly and deliberately, towards the barracks and began systematically checking each room that was accessible. "Hello? Anybody in there?" When Casandra failed to get a response she would move on, hoping that nobody was trapped and unable to answer.
A few rooms down, when she forced her way into the room, she saw a limp hand. Rushing to it, she touched it fearlessly. It was cold. Casandra's throat closed up as she dragged the body out, away from the ruble to get a better look, and once she did, she closed her eyes and looked away. It was Armind, and he wasn't breathing.
Not much unsettled Casandra, and when something did, she was good at hiding it. Panicking was not an option, she had seen how some of the other candidates were behaving, and if they realized that had lost one of their own, they would be much worse off. Death did not scare Casandra, she had seen enough of it to have grown to accept it, but this was different. She had known this boy, and though they were not by any means close, she had come to regard him as an equal. No one was safe.
Calm. She must be calm. Casandra repeated this to herself as she scooped up the boy's body and carried him back towards the commons room, forcing away the impulse to cry in anguish. Crying was for the weak. She would not be weak, especially not in front of Elisabeta. When he the candiatemaster, she lay the body on the floor before straightening up. "He's dead," she said tonelessly, emotionlessly.
Millieth shifted as the rubble sealing her away from the skies began to shift, moving as far back from the rocks as possible, curling up so that any debris would strike less important parts of her rather than her stomach. If she ended up ichoring, that was fine, as long as her unborn children were safe. Thank you Kierjaarth.
Shifting Kai so he could sit in her lap, Kaegan sighed and leaned her head back against the wall. "Mama, wheres Zan?" "Huh? Oh Zander... He'll be with Azzie, where ever they are. Don't worry, Azzie will take care of him." They should have expected something like this... or at least she should have started fortifying the Weyr against earthquakes, what with what happened to the Mines. A bark drew her attention back to the crack in the boulders, Soleil had returned. "Soleil, stay." There was a scuttling sound, the light was momentarily blocked out and, to her relief, Dash darted over. Minelove. Oldking has broken flapper. Zips is stays with on the furryone. "And you're okay?" Yesyes Beautifulmine. Scared. What was big shake? She stroked the shaking Brown as he settled down in her collar. "It was an earthquake."
Kai shifted as Dash appeared, reaching up to pet the Mandyr with shaking fingers. He was happy Zander was okay, and that his momma was right. The boy managed a smile when Dash licked his hand, but he was distracted by the sound of rocks clicking together. "Whats that?" "What?" "Click click click?" Kai fidgeted as Kaegan listened. "Its a Dragon digging out Millieth. Don't worry, someone will come for us soon."
Ruffling her son's hair as they waited, the Weyrwoman got damage reports from Millieth, the devastation was horrendous. And, because of her connection to the Gold, she could almost feel every time a dragon died. Fortunately a voice distracted her from her thoughts... "Darmosk you say?" So a Wher had been able to get through after all. "I'm glad to hear your voice. I was starting to get worried in here."
-----------
"K'thay?" Gently moving the man as she removed the last of the rocks, Ithanna tried not to jostle the man too much. "Rider K'thay, can you hear me?" No response. He obviously wasn't dead, otherwise Castidenloth wouldn't be hanging around, but neither was he awake and chipper. Kneeling, the Greenrider checked the senior Rider's pulse, breathing and eye movements, trying to judge if it was safe enough to bring him around. Reaching into her medical pack she brought out her only vile of smelling salt, cracking it carefully between her fingers, she waved it slowly under K'thay's nose. It took a few minutes, but eventually, the man came around. "Whoa, whoa. Its okay, don't move. I don't know how badly you're injured." Ithanna pressed down on his shoulders so he couldn't get up.
"What happened? One minute I was... was... getting water? And then the next I was on the floor..."
"There was an Earthquake. A down right nasty one. But are you okay?"
"My chest is on fire and I have the biggest headache this side of the southern continent."
Lifting his shirt, she cautiously passed her fingers over the part he complained about, but immediately removed them when he yelped in pain. "Best guess... you've cracked or broken some ribs. I can already see the bruise starting. Lets try sitting up..." Normally she wouldn't even try moving the Bluerider yet, but if an aftershock hit, there was no way to tell if his Weyr was stable enough to survive another go. Holding K'thay's neck as he sat up, she watched as he shouldered the pain without complaint. When he could support himself, Ithanna inspected the man for further injuries but found none. Castidenloth and I have cleared his Weyrledge, he says that he can support the both of you to the meeting place. "Do you have any pets?"
"Nah. Don't... got any... But that pack, its important."
Getting up, she grabbed the half buried pack before returning to the man. "I'm sorry you're going to have to move with the pain, I don't have any willow bark for you. You ready to try?" She watched as he prepared himself mentally for the move, only moving to help when he signaled her to. Supporting him as they maneuvered between piles of rock and shattered furniture, Ithanna was vaguely happy the Bluerider was who he was. If it'd been someone without injury experience, the pain might have given them more trouble. Eventually, they made it onto the ledge and to a clearly relieved Blue. Assisting the Rider onto the Dragon, Ithanna slipped up in front of him. As K'thay wrapped his arms around her, she called to Castidenloth. "Easy as you can please, he's damaged."
Once they were in the air, Iwyrth quickly joined them, holding her foot in close to her body as she pulled up on their left. Speed was given up in place of a gentle flight, none of them were hurt to the point of near death, so they would reach the meeting point soon enough...
Minth felt she could trust Kierjaarth. She would have to personally thank him or whatever force came to rescue her. In the mean time she deigned to make their job a little easier by trying to dig out from her side of the wall. She shouldered up to another largish rock, though this one wasn't supporting anything. With the right fork of her tail under stone she had limited movement. Her long, slender frame, however had blessed her with a long whip of a tail. With her shoulder pressed against the rock she engaged her hindquarters. Pain flashed through her hips and up her back and the green was forced to cease her efforts. It hurts too much Mine to push with my back legs.[/i] Now she felt useless, and that, in a way, was a worse feeling than being trapped.
Anusha was annoyed when her dragon stood up from her "break" to try and work again. "Sit down! In fact you should probably lay down!" Because raising her voice in a somewhat-sealed cave totally helped her get her point across (if nothing else it also prevented her from hearing Cainith). She knew how her dragon felt, because she was feeling it, too. She hated being stuck without a way to be of assistance. Granted she could fit out the door in the back, but Minth could not and she didn't want to abandon the green. If Minth was going to die she wanted to go with her and she knew how she wanted to go. If the woman had any say in how she died she would do it sitting astride the injured creature before her. She banished such thoughts from her mind because they were unhelpful and downright depressing. Where had thoughts of death come from anyway?!
By this time the very much agitated olive Vyran had calmed down enough to not bite anyone. She flitted over to Minth and rested on the green's snout. She liked this one, she did. Minth reciprocated the affection the fire lizard gave her, it kept her mind off of her injuries. To date the dragon was the only one that the fire lizard had met that she hadn't bitten. It amused the green to no end and made Anusha somewhat jealous, rubbing a scar that she'd gotten from not feeding the little terror fast enough. Akos simply preferred to sit on His. The woman was very thankful that her beloved 'Mandyr was not a malicious character.
Emilisk kept digging at the weyr she was working at. She set a steady pace, taking a break every now and then. Eventually the wall was moved and the wher quickly moved aside in case whatever creature within was angry and struck out. When no claw emerged the wher entered and made her way around on the inside. "Candidates," Emiliah mused. They were, as she understood, quite important right now, especially with a clutch soon. The wher kept her mind open to any distress calls she might receive. The trio (because Shrew absolutely refused to move, though she loosened her choke-hold) soon emerged into the common room of the candidate barracks. Their master was absent which put Emiliah in a somewhat awkward spot; she'd only ever taken orders her whole life!
"Who is the worst?" she asked of Kyrstin. She had entered just as he had finished binding Rosanna's arm and thus assumed him to be a healer. It was somewhat of Emilisk's urging that she ask since it only made sense to take the most injured first. The wher eyed the three women and two men. She could quickly take one of the injured on her back if she left Her's behind. She didn't like the idea, but it was logical; she moved faster than humans and if Emiliah followed she would be slowed by the young woman's pace. The good thing was there were only three injured that she could see. The green reached out to any nearby and available whers that there were injured candidates and projected the number before she retreated. She still didn't like drawing attention to herself, despite the need.
The sounds of other humans nearby should have woken him up immediately, but J'ash was too out of it to remember that. When it finally clicked moments later, the Bluerider opened his unfocused eyes and looked over at the two figures standing near him. His lips twitched apart and struggled to form a comprehensive syllable. failing miserably. "Haaagh..." he groaned, eyes fluttering closed as the throbbing in his head kicked in once more. Faranth, it was bad. He wanted to just decapitate himself. At least he wouldn't be in agony.
"Who...?" One gray eye opened enough to lethargically observe the closest figure to him. "Not safe here Craivaruth... must go..." Finally, he sort of recognized one of them, the one that spoke to him. "T'san..." Weakly, the lithe man reached out to the Brownrider with the stick he called his right arm. He vaguely registered T'san moving closer and scooping him up. J'ash made an effort to keep his head up, despite the urge to let it hang at gravity's mercy. "Who're you?" He glanced at the second person in his destroyed weyr, and repeated the question at him. "Who're you?" Because, even if he could remember to begin with, he really didn't know this person.
"Where's Crai?" He slurred, uncoordinated eyelids drooping over tired eyes. "I can walk..." The Bluerider was clearly in shock, and didn't realize how badly he was concussed. "Who're you?"
((Okay, so...I counted on having a ton of time today since events are over and whatever but I didn't count on being too tired that I can't concentrate properly. Involved threads like this? So not happening tonight. But I don't want to keep people waiting. So...
T'san brought J'ash back to his weyr where Dsoleth finally broke free and brought him to the camp. Ceryl/Cerysk are doing anything they can to help, minus actually carrying people 'cause Cerysk is tiny. Powerplay at will.))
