Humans:
Name: Dinag
Age: 18 turns
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual (possibly bisexual, but never explored)
Rank: Wher candidate
Physical Appearance:
Dinag is about 6 feet tall, though he never seems to look it. Rather than being tall and lanky, like most with that height, he has a subtle bulk to him that makes him look simply a bit above average in height. Though he's not heavily muscled, there's a certain strength behind him that comes from his size and build.
His eyes are a simple blue, but they aren't that noticeable. They are shadowed by rather bushy brown eyebrows and long eyelashes. His mouth is thin, but shapely, surrounded by a trimmed mustache and goatee. For his age, his facial hair is surprisingly thick. If you look to the bottom right of his goatee, you can see a white patch, a product of a childhood scuffle with his brothers. Despite the white patch, he loves his facial hair and maintains it meticulously.
His hair matches his beard and eyebrows: a simple brown. It's kept cut rather short, only an inch or two from his scalp. Like his beard, it's maintained meticulously, never getting bushy or too long. Dinag isn't as fond as his hair, though. He finds it to be rather unremarkable and it irks him at times.
When it comes to clothing, Dinag is a lot less particular. He wears general earth tones and, as long as it fits, it doesn't matter past that. Usually, he's in simple breeches and a light-colored shirt. He doesn't like to wear anything that he can't get dirty in. If he's wearing formal attire, there's a very good probability that he's uncomfortable, unhappy, and won't be in the clothing for long.
Personality:
Dinag has always had a rather laidback personality, on the surface. He doesn't put too much effort into anything he does, but everything always manages to get completed and completed properly. He's never one to start a fight or get up in someone else's face. He never tries to find out information that he shouldn't know, or go behind someone else's back. He just seems to go with the flow and do what needs to be done to get to the next day, nothing more and nothing less.
However, anyone who gets to know him better knows differently. He's a bit of a night owl, staying up late, stressing about the day and trying to make sure everything's ready for tomorrow. He keeps to his room, making sure that no one else sees that he's concerned. He's the best at getting the gossip without seeming like he knows anything. He just manages to listen when no one else even remembers that he's there. He isn't one to spread gossip, though. He just listens, takes it in, and uses the knowledge later to help whatever task he needs to accomplish.
If Dinag considers you a friend, that's something that won't change easily. He's very loyal and considerate to those that are important to him. It's not easy to get to know him, though. He's one of those people that manages to simply be there. He's always around, but never quite noticed. He accomplishes what needs to be done, but no one ever really knows that it was him who did it. His friends, most of the time, can tell what he's doing. They know him better than anyone else, so he pays attention to them, and only hides certain parts of himself from them, like his inability to sleep unless he's taken care of everything he can for the day.
He's not necessarily a neat freak, but he has certain quirks. Dinag is always very careful that his beard is perfectly trimmed and shaped and that his hair is taken care of. He also makes sure that his clothes are clean and free of wrinkles before he puts them on. However, once he has the clothes on, he gives no second thought to the state of them until the next time he needs to wear them. His bed is perfectly made, his trunk is perfectly arranged, but on any stationary surface is a collection of odds and ends he picked up on his travels. He doesn't arrange them or even really pay them much mind. He just happens to have a messy collection of rocks, figurines, cloths, anything that caught his eye.
History:
Dinag was born and raised on the Southern continent by two rather unremarkable people. His mother was one of the many cooks in the kitchens of Lighttower Hold. His father was a servant of the Lord Holder Phreminanst. The pair were not particularly in love, but comfortable with each other and the lives that they were leading. They made just enough to get by and keep a roof over their heads. Every other turn, it seemed, another baby boy was born, as if, just like everything else in their lives, babymaking happened on a schedule.
Out of the five children, Dinag was the youngest. He was also the most bored with the hold life. He never let it show, not wanting to reveal anymore of himself than he had to, but his life was neither challenging enough for him nor interesting enough. He worked with his mother in the kitchens until he was 13 turns, carrying, chopping, slicing, dicing, and anything else that he could do. When he turned 13, his father took him into the main hold, training him as a servant for the family as well. This work was even less entertaining for him. Though Dinag would never admit it, he wanted to something different with his life.
In his mind, there was so much more out there to see and to do. His parents had never travelled outside of the small area surrounding the hold. They'd never been to a Gather, or seen another hold. They'd never seen a weyr, or even just took a day to explore the world around them. That was not the life that Dinag wanted to lead. He wanted to do something that mattered, to have intrigue, to know what was going on in the world that they lived in.
But it was bred into him to stay where he was at, to learn what was being taught to him, and to never show unnecessary emotions. So that's what he did until he finally gave up trying to live a life that he couldn't stand.
So at age 16 he left. He gave no warning, left no letter, and felt no remorse. Dinag was ready to see what the Southern Continent held. So he wandered. He visited all the holds, discretely of course, just showing up for a couple days then disappearing again. He explored the terrain, enjoying the long walks from one place to the next, craning his head and staring at all the wildlife around him.
Throughout all of his travels, though, he learned to keep clean on the road. How to shave with a straight razor in just simple pond water. It wouldn't do to show up to his next destination looking like he'd been on the road for days. He didn't want any attention, he wanted to blend in and learn. Live the life that others did for a day or two, then disappear again like he was never there.
Finally, after a turn or so of wandering, he tired of the road and headed for his final destination: Selenitas. He'd heard that there was a wher clutch and, if he was looking for subtle adventure, there was no better way that to bond with a creature that was long misunderstood and not highly popular. He'd be a creature of the night and be more than happy for the change and the fun. And he'd never be stuck somewhere without love. No matter what anyone's opinions were on bonding, it was always understood that there was a love involved that none other could understand. Dinag wanted to understand everything.
And then he Impressed Disk. A start of a new, bloody chapter.
Wher Information:[/u]
Name: Disk
Color: Blue #6A99EE, #00007B
Physical Appearance: This blue is nothing short of huge for his colour. He is easily the size of small browns though he may not seem like it. He has thin proportions detracting from his overall size. A long, lean body makes him faster than most whers his size but he sacrifices his strength for this. His tail is shorter and thicker like the average wher's tail. Despite his overall seemingly delicate proportions, this blue is far from feminine looking. His head and ridges are very angular and the ridges almost look sharp. He has wicked sharp claws that easily slice through fabric and flesh. He has a habit of flexing and examining them when he's bored. He has huge wings to go along with his body. He has the potential of being a very graceful glider.
As if to offset his sharp appearance, this blue is a soft light blue that is tinged with a slight purple. The colour fades closer to white along his underside. What really catches attention about this wher's colouring is that he almost appears to be shackled and collared. A single thick band of navy blue wraps around each leg just above the paw. Another even thicker band goes around the base of the wher's neck. His wings are the light blue colour and there is no fading present at all on them. There are very thin navy blue lines near the wing joint that suggest that a pair of 'shackles' might have formed there but didn't.
Personality: The wild blood in this blue seems to run very close to the surface. Its a wonder he bonded at all. He's a very violent creature by nature. Anyone or anything that is foolish enough to get in his way better be ready for a mauling. If His has anything valuable they should put it high out of reach of this blue lest he tear it to pieces with tooth and claw. A though that crosses this wher's mind very often when it comes to others is eating their faces. He will often send the idea to His or to the one who's face he wants to eat for amusement. He has a rather large sense of humour but only for the macabre.
Perhaps the oddest thing about this blue is that he will not chase, flirt, or otherwise acknowledge greens that are related to him. Why? He's oddly afraid of incest. The only whers he'll chase are ones that have absolutely no known relation to him. He also highly looks down upon those that chase those related to them. It sickens him immensely when they actually catch related whers and he'll frequently have to go take it out on someone or something. He does acknowledge golds, though only because he has no chance at all of mating with them.
