Pretty things, pretty things, the little voice sang to itself. Tip toeing over several bottles, Shard stuck her nose in a large one. So many fascinating things were here! No wonder her T'ke-love spent so much time here now. She couldn't understand why he grumbled about it. The infirmary was full of terrific things to explore.
He wasn't here now though, which was good. He always complained that she got into trouble, but what was the harm in having a look? She was feeling so good today too. She was sure her skin was shinier today, and the air tasted fresh and clean. Shard stood tall, which was quite tall for her kind, and surveyed the room around the shelf. Suddenly she didn't want to explore anymore. That was too boring. She wanted to run. Yes, yes! Run and never get caught!
With a spring, she was in the air and dropping to the ground. Run far, run fast! she cried happily. She was off like an arrow. Long legs were good for something, she was fast. The only downside was she had to keep her wings long wings up to keep the tips from dragging. What a pain. Running was worth it though! No one could catch her now!
T'ke rubbed his forehead in annoyance. Something had been nagging at him all morning. It was getting hard to concentrate. He wanted to study the scrolls on healing he'd bought at the Gather. Not that they'd do much good for someone as squeamish as him, but at least he might understand a bit more of what he was doing in the infirmary. This feeling, though, was bothering him. He couldn't fathom what it was.
Then he figured it out. With rising panic, T'ke jumped up searching the room frantically. "Where are you, you little worm," he muttered. He couldn't believe it. After all this time, she picked now to start liking males. The effort was too little too late. "SHARD!" T'ke bellowed, not caring who heard him cry out his frustration. Then Shard's warm, happy feelings took hold. T'ke took off running down the hall outside his weyr.

"You pest."
Cannot reach? The bronze salamandyr questioned from a small niche high on the wall of the hallway. He looked down at the short drudge that was attempting to reach him.. or rather the metal links that hung down from where he held her necklace under his claws – just out of her reach. Jump big.
Guru's eyes narrowed as Shard ran passed. Her glow was unmistakable but he didn't give chase right away. There was a matter of weighing the pros against the cons. And, in his not so humble opinion, there was a lot weighing on the pessimistic side to make him not want to move from his current activity. Didn't know this greenling – he was comfortable – she was probably as loony as the other salamandyrs running about the weyr – he was very comfortable – and well.. what were the pros again?
Neh. He hadn't made fun of any salamandyrs recently so he might as well tag along to see what kind of madness what in store for this particular run. Hopefully it didn't involve running laps around the kitchen, or a blue throwing himself off a bridge (Seriously, what was wrong with all these salamandyrs?) Guru let go of the necklace, letting the drudge collect her junk as he slithered out of the chink in the wall. His short legs actually helped to keep himself hugged close to the stone as he hurried after Shard.
The mossy-bronze coiled to leap, but lost his footing and fell the to the floor with a involuntary chirp. Guru scrambled back upright, his jagged frill going wide as he looked around to make sure no one had seen. His long tail lashed against the stone floor as he noticed there.. were no other chases yet? Did they know something he didn't? Suspicious, Guru turned his gaze onto Shard. You crazy?[/color]

Rhino cursed how far away his beloved was. His sweet, lovely Shard. The brown salamandyr charged across a bridge that connected to the infirmary. He got to the smelly place and dodged busy feet in search of the lovely green he desired and who loved him so much in return. He dashed out into the hall and finally spotted her. Lovely, lovely Shard! The brown called adoringly to the green, Guru going ignored for the moment.
The oddly shaped salamandyr added more to his initial call. Shardling bootiful, lovely, greenlet. Run, run for Rhino, yes? The brown would have frilled happily if he actually had a frill. Instead, the brown had odd protrusions from his neck. His purple eyes world dully as he chased her, intent, for the moment, on his goal of wooing his lady. He obviously didn't need to because she loved him so much but he felt like doing it anyways. He crooned again, quite vocal about what he thought of her.
Some assistant weyrlingmasters did paperwork in their office, Iskierka practiced with throwing knives. Not to say she never did her paperwork, but the bluerider thought learning to throw her knives properly would be a better option for the moment. She had so little spare time to practice during so she was forced to find time for herself. Unfortunately, she didn't actually have as much time as she had hoped to practice. A wave of emotion that belonged neither to her or Ioth made the bluerider trip in a singularly ungraceful movement.
Iskierka was not used to the strength of the emotions. Lust she was familiar with, at least. Adoration was a completely different story. The bluerider blinked and shook her head before realizing that warm liquid was trickling down her arm. She'd managed to scratch her arm with the unthrown knife when she fell. Lovely. She was hurt but...it didn't seem important. There was something more important, except that there wasn't...Iskierka tried to fight against the bond she shared with her salamandyr (she'd figured out the source after a bit of contemplation) and only served to confuse herself further.
Finally, Iskierka's wants were forcefully pushed aside by Rhino's and she found herself running away from her office and towards her. He had to find her, to make sure she knew he loved her as much as she loved him! The bluerider plunged down the staircast to the fourth level weyrs and continued downward, towards the main hall. The bridge would link to the other side and somewhere on the other side she was waiting for her amazing brown, there was absolutely no doubt of that in his mind...

With a soft trill the dark colored brown flit swerved around the bottles the leaping green mandyr had just vacated. He had been following her for some time now. As soon as he had caught sight of her lovely glow upon passing. His bonded was back for a check of her injury. So this was more a case of right place right time than anything else. He was happy his brother was busy loving on the wher eggs that had been laid seven days ago. Silly brother his. It was much more exciting here with the little running lovely. He was however glad for the lack of winged competition. While normally Baron didn’t pay much attention to the loud little things, at the request of his, this one was glowing. That was enough for him. Dipping is wings he shot after Shard as she called. Yes run. Loping briefly through the air his eyes whirled immediately with deep violet. Pretty green. Oh so beautiful.
The dark brown flit beat his large wings to gain altitude and veered past Guru, intentionally buzzing the bronze and giving a mocking trill. He rocketed upwards before the mandyr could do anything in retaliation and continued after Shard. The other mandyr, a brown, was ignored for the most part besides a slightly disinterested look as he winged past.
Elysia felt the tiny pick of lust at the back of her mind and tilted her head in consideration, mentally checking her bonds to see who it was. Baron or Amour more than likely. Although the pair hadn’t chased more than a handful of times since she impressed them. Onyth had a stronger hold to be sure. This was merely a small mental tickle. Ah Baron. The female of choice? The brown flit gave her the mental image of a glowing mandyr and the greenrider made a face. A worm? Really. Silly thing.
Ah well her appointment at the infirmary was done. Her break was mending alright, although again she was pushed to limit her activity level. Not exactly something she could do with the wing she was on. Elysia dealt with it. Yawning idly she stepped out of the infirmary and into the hallway. Hmm maybe she should see what these mandyr runs where all about. She had heard enough about them but never seen a run first hand. Might be fun.

Pretty glowy lovely, rooting around. Sneak always paid attention to salamandyrs, and Shard was no exception, so of course he noticed her pre-Run shine. He was, however, coiled around M'ta's bicep as was usual for him. Ever since His had grown more receptive to his presence (though he avoided the man's neck religiously) the 'striped sausage' had taken to coiling around an arm while watching any salamandyrs around. Sneakily of course. He wasn't fascinated by the breed, not at all. Course not. Glancing sidelong up at the face of His while the brownrider finished sterilizing instruments, just one more step in a long list of little things that needed doing, his attention flicked back to Shard. Running. Cue mental sigh. No excuse for this one, either. Why couldn't His be interested in Shard's? The ADD mandyr had taken the one mandyr bonded to someone he was interested in. Thief.
Another mandyr, tripping all over himself. Sneak's eyes slitted, an amused twitter sounding. That was cute. Yes, cute little bronze, though it really was sad that Shard only had a little failure like that one to chase her. His amusement died in a wave of angst. Uhoh. His head turned slowly up to find His watching him, Sneak responding with a questioning chirp. Innocent, seeee? "Don't know who you think you're fooling," the man grumbled, rolling his eyes before gently stroking behind his eyeridges.
M'ta caught sight of the disappearing greenrider. Remembering that he'd wanted to ask her what they said about the arm, he set down what he was working on and padded after her into the hall. "Elysia! Hold up!" he called after his wingmate. Sneak, upon spotting Baron, suddenly unwrapped himself from M'ta's arm, winging swiftly after Shard with what he must have thought was a stealthy for-Shard's-ears-only croon. He rolled across Baron's wake, then angled higher, dodging heads and generally causing further commotion in the not-so-empty hall.
M'ta glanced at the brown, unperturbed. "About time." He glanced up at Elysia, frowning slightly in concern. "How is it coming along?" Having broken a foot back when he was a candidate - twice - he was very familiar with the frustration of a broken limb. That, and Elysia was one of his wingmates easiest to practice with. Which he needed. In spades. Apart from throwing blades, picking locks, and poison immunity, he was trailing behind everyone else. And no, he didn't notice the hand that had gone to her uninjured arm, stroking it lightly. (R'wign had mentioned that he got strangely physically affectionate when Sneak chased, but M'ta hadn't felt strange at all, and naturally the conversation had long since slipped his mind.)

Shard froze mid step. Turning, she stared at Guru with wide, fearful eyes. Why was he looking at her like that? Was it bad to be crazy? He must hate her, that was it. Males were never happy to see her. She was funny looking and ugly and she knew it. Her wings drooped. Why did he have to ruin all her fun? Her frilled fanned out in annoyance and nerves. She started running again, darting past M'ta and Elysia's. A bronze would never love her, she would get as far away as she could!
But then, someone else was talking to her. Shard felt herself purr, despite it all. This one was so nice. No one had ever said so many nice things about her before. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he followed for a while. But what would she say? She couldn't think of anything so nice to say back. Y-y-yes! she squeaked. R-run!
Two flyers too! Shard liked flyers, she wanted to see them closer. Stone walls were too hard to climb, so Shard went up Elysia's leg instead. Elysia was female, so she was good. Surely she would understand. In a flash, she was perched on the greenrider's head, hiding under her hair. Yes, the flyers were sweet too. If only they would like her too. She shivered hesitantly. She wanted to get away. All this attention was getting to be a bit too much for her nerves. Maybe they wouldn't see her here?
T'ke continued to run down the halls, glancing behind him anxiously. He was sure someone was after him. Where were they? Several people were knocked aside by flailing limbs, but he barely looked at them. Where were the chasers? Four of them, he was sure. They must be invisible! He had to run, had to get away. Turning a corner, he ran face first into Iskierka. Oh no! They were in front too! He was trapped!

A pang of guilt assaulted Guru when Shard wilted under his shrewd gaze. His jagged frill folded flat against his neck. He had never meant to hurt her feelings. He just wanted to know if she was crazy – because he had no interest in being involved in such insanity. And and.. Guru's long tail curled around his own front leg as he remained where he was. Okay, so maybe he was a bit overly irked at having fallen from the wall but..
Baron buzzing by his head snapped Guru out of the moment of wallowing. He left forth a reptilian hiss, snapping at Baron's fleeing tail. The mockery from both the flyers was heard clear enough. Well fine. So what if he made her feel bad. Stupid green. Obviously she wasn't worth chasing if she was that insecure. Guru snapped his tail to the side, glaring at the flyers as they winged overhead.
Shard darting down the hall still pulled enough at Guru that the bronze found himself loping after her attractive glow. He came to a halt a couple feet away from the standing humans when shard made one a perch. Hide. Very good. He spat with distaste. He didn't want to climb on other people. Did she have to chose to hide in the woman's hair? Tch. None have to see and chase. Not good catch.
In one of the empty weyrs, Quintrell stirred where he had laid down for a brief nap. He never slept for longer than an hour or two at most. Cat naps were his style, his body trained to always be on the go – now was no different as the thief eased out into the hallway with slight sneer to his features. Guru never had a firm hold on his mind.. as the bronze teetered between actually chasing and just.. following along to mock the others. Still, it was enough to control a mind that was half-asleep.
Glancing down the hall at the collision of T'ke and Iskierka, Quintrell rolled his eyes with a disdainful snort. "Run into wall next?" Suppose to run away from the chasers, not into them. Stupid green.

Baron shot after Shard, totally unperturbed about the snap that had been thrown his way by the bronze mandyr. The mandyr chasers where ignored. It was the mandyr running he wanted. Shard’s upset did not escape his notice and he trilled at her, the sound caressing and full of praise. Run little glowing wormy one. Ignore the nasty bronze and the other speaking one. Not worth her time. What she needed was big strong wings to carry her. A uplifting croon was given as he wound through the air. Sneak was given a polite chirp as he twirled past the other brown. Flit competitors where accepted. Mandyr ones where a nuisance.
Winging down the hallway dodging heads and flipping between walking legs the brown followed the glowing green slowly. As the green made a beeline for his and shot up her leg and then into her hair he grew slightly worried. With a soft musical trill Baron slowly wound about his bonded’s form and then alighted on her shoulder. Reaching forward he grabbed a lock of her hair in his mouth and gave it a gentle tug. His mind brushed Shard’s with encouragement. Come out come out little one. To his he gave a chirp of apology. He would get the green out of her hair. Sorry his perfect golden love.
"Elysia! Hold up!"
The greenrider turned abruptly when her name was called. She recognized the voice. Her wingmate. M’ta of Behruth. Liked the man she did. Good addition to her wing, nice sparing partner. As he drew closer she gave him a hesitant smile and shifted her stance to a slightly more welcoming one. Wing had always been considered as family and she treated them as such even if she didn’t let them get too close. His concern was noted with a broadening of the smile and a light shrug of her uninjured arm. “Mending well enough I suppose. Keep telling me to limit activity but you know how easy that is.” She made a face. “Doing well enough without pain killers even if they think I should take them. At least they have stopped pushing it.” The greenrider trailed off as M’ta’s hand stroked down her arm. She didn’t exactly bristle at the contact but it was strange.
Before Elysia could make some comment however something latched itself to her leg and made quick use of her as a climbing post. Her entire body went tense as the mandyr buried itself into her hair and she had to fight against the urge to rip Shard off her head and fling her. The greenrider’s hand twitched and she made a fist as Baron alighted on her shoulder with an apologetic chirp and gave her hair a light tug. “Baron… Darling get her off me this instant.” A mild glare was given the flit who flared his wings and trilled again. Would she please come out? His lovely did not like her hair messed with. Unless it was the music maker doing the messing of course.

Rhino trilled happily as Shard confirmed her interest in him, even if that wasn't what she had intended to say. The brown mandyr saw the world through his vision, and his vision only. If it could be interpreted in a way that made him happy then it was so, if it displeased him he would either whine incessently about it to His or make the one he annoyed him pay for the mistake. Her avid interest in him was the only thing keeping him from being annoyed by the other males daring to look at his love.
As Shard decided to hide in a woman's hair, Rhino creeled in distress. Why hide, why hide? So, too pretty. Not need hide, he told the green, scurrying around Elysia's feet. The greenrider was pretty too, but she didn't compare to his love at the moment. She wasn't glowy, after all. The odd brown waited for the green to show herself again. She shouldn't hide from him. No, no, it was just too mean! As the flyer tried to get her to come out of hiding the brown hissed. So that was why she was hiding. The evil nasty was trying to get her. He'd deal with that one later. For now, Shard needed encouragment! Hide from nasty, nasty find you. Run, run Shardling! Leave behind bad nasty! Nasty not hurt if run.
Iskierka rounded the corner and ran into something...or someone. The brown knew immediately who it was. Iskierka's lovely green! So he was coming to find her too! How wonderful and how perfectly right. Yes, her green loved her so much. The bluerider, lost in Rhino's emotions and willing to believe T'ke loved her, embraced the other bluerider. "Found me!" But something was wrong...yes, her green was being chased by a nasty! "Nasty after you. Must run, must run!" The brown tugged on the green's arm. The green had to get away from the nasty!

M'ta blinked as the chase took the creatures around them not once, but twice, though he still trained his attention on Elysia. Enough to note her hesitance, the man frowning as he realized he'd been...stroking her arm. Taking a step back, he slid his hands into his pockets, coloring slightly. "Sneak...effects me a little I guess. My bad." He wrinkled his nose slightly. "Yeah, they were all over me about my foot when I broke it. Worry and nag far too much. At least it's on the mend, though. And your weyrmate isn't a healer...I can't get away with anything anymore," he concluded, a touch over-dramatically solely for Elysia's amusement.
Sneak was too good a little spy of salamandyrs not to notice the subtleties - or not so subtle - of Shard's run. That bronze salamandyr was scaring her. Baaad. He could only assume this was why she chose to run up the other person, to get away from the bronze salamandyr. The striped sausage brown circled around Baron's person in a wide circle before lighting on top of M'ta's head, which easily put Shard at eye level. He turned from her, though, when the shiny spoke again, wings spreading as he hissed at the one terrorizing the lovely glowing salamandyr. Resettling his wings along his sides, his head turned, neck arching slightly as he crooned to Shard again, gently brushing at her mind. Yes, she should come out, then he and the other flyer could protect her better. He returned the acknowledging trill to Baron belatedly.
They would not let the mean one near. See?
M'ta glanced up on top of his head, going cross-eyed for a moment before batting at the tail hanging down. His eyes slid toward Elysia, a wry smile twitching on his lips. "I think my hat is better than yours." Pretty lame joke there, but she looked about ready to have a fit over the salamandyr in her hair and he really didn't have anything else. Sneak chose that moment to hop off M'ta's head, wings spreading as he circled around the pair of dragonriders once more and hovered near the back of Elysia's head. If Shard was scared of the ground...he would gladly let her ride on him until she wanted down again. No strings attached. Commence Operation: Rescue Shard.

A small nose peeked out of Elysia's hair as Shard watched the males. This was bad. They were getting too close! She'd been foolish to think they couldn't see her here, and her perched had stopped moving. Guru definately didn't like her. Was she really no good? Maybe he was right. Running was probably a better plan. She was good at running, after all. Rhino was sweet to try and reassure her, but she wasn't that confident. If he actually got a good look at her, maybe he wouldn't think she was pretty anymore. Baron was nice too, but he was getting too close for comfort. She seriously considered taking Sneaks offer to get away from all the attention, but that meant picking already. She didn't want any males near her yet, even him.
G-go waay! she stammered mournfully. All this attention was just too much! Bunching up her legs, she leaped off Elysia's head and away from Sneak and Baron. Narrow wings weren't much good for gliding, but her frill caught the air like an umbrella. With a hop, she landing and sped off away from the infirmary. Maybe if she went fast enough she would lose them. Dodging feet and docking down corners, Shard tried to make it as hard as possible to keep up. Her grey-green hide would be almost invisible against the stone floor, though her glow was only getting brighter.
T'ke squirmed wildly and Iskierka hugged him. What was she doing?! He wasn't hers yet, by a long shot. He tried to push her away and escape. He had to run, had to keep going. Males were everywhere. Look! Here was another now, sort of. T'ke cringed away from Quintrell, but before he could take off, Iskierka had him by the arm. Oh no! He was still caught! "No, no, no!" he wailed, tugging at his arm even as he was dragged along. "Run free!"

Watch it.
Guru eyed M'ta mildly as the brownrider stepped back. The bronze curled his tail protectively around his foreclaws. For such a short human, he was awfully tall and that was much too far to climb. Also one of the hissy flitters was nested upon the man's shoulder which made it all that more distasteful. Elysia was even taller so she was clearly out of the question. Expressing a yawn, Guru again peered up at where Shard hid.
You go away, He retorted with a childish, disdainful frill. Would she run already? It was rude of her to make them wait on her like this (ignore that he himself was being anywhere near cordial to the green). With a casual flick of his tail, Guru prowled a wide circle around the two humans to try and angle a better view of the glowing green. Oh finally. The bronze bounded after her, keeping a wary eye on the firelizards in case they tried anything stupid.
And – Nooo. Did she have to go in there? That was that one bronze's territory. With a small hiss Guru came to a halt at the door to the infirmary. The purple faded completely from his eyes. Didn't like her anyway. Turning around, Guru scampered down the hallway until he found the leg of His dummie. He perched on the thief's shoulder, idly grooming his claws as if nothing had occurred.
Quintrell rubbed the side of his nose, glancing as his salamandyr before peering back at the scene between T'ke and Iskierka. To his salamandyr he commented, "You really gotta work on yer courting skills." Not interested in dungheads. "So ya say.." His brow lifted, head canting to the side as he felt a.. touch of concern about T'ke's distress.

Lazuli was awoken by feelings of desire. He crooned sweetly. A green was running! His croon woke his siblings. Dusk yawned sleepily. Mika jumped to her feet. Was it another blue running? No, she was not kidding. She was really that stupid. You couldn’t blame her, though. She had never risen. She had never chased except for Simpers. She thought that all colors and genders rose! Of course, males had chased Simpers as well as females, yes?
Lazuli flicked his tail in amusement. Although he was as sweet as his sister, he was considerably more intelligent. Also, he enjoyed playing tricks on others. He crooned affirmatively to the green. In her excitement, the emerald fire lizard took off before her brothers, soaring to her lovely little blue. As she neared, her greeting croon was broken off by a look of shock.
It was a green!
Her brothers had lied to her! She did not chase greens. Before she turned back, she noted the green’s cry of fear. This greenling did not run to be caught! She ran to escape! These were not chasers, they were tormentors! As an avid protector of all of her fellow greens (or, in other words, her fellow friends) she was determined to help the poor creature escape! She launched herself at the nearest bronze. She tackled Guru to the ground, hissing at him. Leave the poor thing alone!
She glanced around. More tormentors! She took off, leaving the unscathed—and probably quite confused—bronze salamandyr to finish the run, giving Shards a few more seconds head start. Sari sighed at her Mika’s silliness. Would the green ever understand…well, anything?
Lazuli crooned in greeting as Shard’s entered his line of vision. His tone was soft, soothing, protecting. Do not worry, little green! Lazuli will protect all of his greens from the evil, sleazy chasers she had somehow accumulated. He swooped closer to her, his large wings bringing him closer to the ground, until he was just a wingspan over it. He crooned to her again. Did she think he was pretty? He was a large and dark blue, was that appealing to her? Did he appeal to her?
Dusk ignored his siblings antics. His love Mika obviously did not realize she was his yet, so he might as well try and get some feminine acceptance while he waited impatiently. Lazuli, of course, was just a moron. Far inferior to a beautiful creature like him! His hide was such a lovely shade of brown, like a dusky sunset. He was very large, with strong, powerful legs. Or so he described himself. Rather, he was an unappealing shade of pink. His legs were short, stocky, and yes, muscular. Certainly not lovely or beautiful.

Baron watched his bonded’s dark locks for any signs of movement, his head tilting this way and that as the other brown firelizard hovered behind Elysia’s head. The protrusion of Shard’s nose was noted with a soft croon of encouragement. That was it. Come on out~ As the green mandyr spoke he whistled and leapt from his bonded’s shoulder. Go away? But this was a chase, a run. Her glow proved it. Why would she want her males to go way? Confused Baron trilled again, looping around his bonded’s body before shooting away and upwards, back towards the ceiling. He turned in a lazy circle until Shard leapt off his lovely to continue her run. Ah much, much better.
He watched her umbrella like descent with fast whirling eyes. The brown waiting until she hit the ground before moving. With a flick of his tail the firelizard shot after her. Rolling past one person’s head he zoomed through the legs of another, keeping up with the fast skittering creature was proving to be fun. Who knew worms could be this interesting? Baron ended up humming a sort of loving theme as he kept up the chase. Occasionally he colored his chase with a quick twist or loop, making good use of the human obstacles in the hallway. Run greenie run.
Elysia would have smiled at M’ta’s little physical slip up had she not been so concerned with the sharing worm in her hair. Alright out already. Her eyes did move down to the shorter male as he made a comment about having once broken his foot. Hmm broken foot, broken elbow. Not really the same but she appreciated the concern and empathy all the same. A small smile flitted across her face. “No my weyrmate isn’t a healer. I’m rather glad he isn’t. Bet that would get a bit annoying.” She quipped back lightly, her eyes traveling upwards towards her scalp where she could feel Shard squirming around. Ick. The greenrider looked back at M’ta as he made some comment about hats. An amused snort left her. “You are more than welcome to take mine. I’m not to fond of it currently.” Before Elysia could give her head a shake however she felt the slight prick of claws and gave a sigh of relief as she caught sight of Shard hitting the ground, her older flit in hot pursuit.
Okay maybe mandyr runs where not as interesting as she first thought. The greenrider watched the creatures until the run took them out of sight and then rotated her uninjured shoulder. Looking back at M’ta she offered a slight smile. “Can’t say that I envy the mandyr owners. I don’t think I ever want one. Annoyances as far as I am concerned.” The tone was a tad conversational as she examined the hallway briefly and then leaned back against the wall.

The red-striped brown jerked visibly, a soft creel leaving his throat as he folded his wings and alighted on a nearby wallsconce, watching Shard sadly. No, being turned down didn't bug him - he'd always known it was a longshot, anyway, though he truly had only intended to ferry her, not pressure her - but being told to bugger off hurt. A wing came to drape in front of his shameful too big roly poly sausage body, the brown peering over the top of it at Shard as if she couldn't see him and spurn him further with the wing covering most of his body within the wall-sconce. Watching her glide downward, he sadly left her to the males she wanted.
That was, until the other green arrived, Sneak chattering softly to himself. What was she doing in Shard's Run? He slipped out of the wall sconce, hovering to watch the firelizard and Guru, to watch Shard and Rhino. Always intrigued by salamandyrs, even when they consistently rejected him. He flew aggressively at Mika. Away, away, bugging all the little salamandyrs. Greens should not evade runs. Firelizards should not attack the little ones. It was all wrong. Satisfied that she was going, he coiled around, following Shard at a distance to be sure nothing happened to her and the other firelizards didn't cause trouble like the green had.
M'ta blinked at Elysia. Why had he thought she didn't have a weyrmate? She was attractive enough, he supposed, but just...something about her. Oh, whatever. Clearly she had one. Not like that made a difference anyway. "Yours seems to be taking care of itself," he commented drolly, as the chase moved away from them. Aware of Sneak's disappointment, he flicked a glance toward the queer brown, mentally shrugging. Couldn't tell if he was still chasing or not. "Mine apparently causes me to skip, sing, and bring flowers," M'ta agreed, rolling his eyes. "To be frank, though, they're more a liability than anything else. Especially with the mating for life thing. PMS gets into everything...though at least I don't have to rescue him three times a day like I did the first few months."
