Killed in Siege of Selenitas
Name: P'tol
Age: 19 Turns
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Rank: Greenrider
Physical Appearance: P'tol seems to have been blessed with the good looks of the family. He's tall, with somewhat broad shoulders and the kind of naturally lean body teenage boys tend to have. P'tol also tans nicely, and is usually a bronzed color, though it can contrast oddly with his light colored hair. His hair is ash blonde in color, and quite silvery, and recently P'tol has started growing it longer, so that he can now tie back most of it back in a wavy runner-tail, though pieces constatly fall into his face.
P'tol's eyes are a lovely blue-gray color, large and effeminately wide-set over his nose, and surrounded by masses of pale ash-colored eyelashes, like soft ferns around shaded pools. Arcing eyebrows, surprisingly dark for his blond hair, look almost plucked, but are completely natural. His face is built delicately, with high cheekbones and a small nose. This gives P'tol a feminine appearance, which somehow seems attractive to people.
Personality: P'tol is quite the diplomat, constantly finding himself trying to solve situations between his various siblings and cousins. He seems to have endless patience with everyone, and it is rare that P'tol snaps. With this comes a sort of world-weariness, as if he's seen all the problems in the world, but P'tol is still rather optimistic by nature.
He has no ambitions to be in any position of dominance or power, and would much rather be a nameless Wingrider. He is most comfortable following orders, and is sometimes seen as too much of a doormat. Surprisingly, for such a handsome lad, Partol has almost no self-confidence, and constantly hunches to hide his body, worried that he's not good enough. Any idea of getting in a relationship terrifies P'tol, though he knows that he likes both males and females.
A quiet efficiency drives P'tol, and he will not put something down until he has finished her task. Never lazy, he presses onward, though P'tol rarely takes credit for his own work, and tends to shrug praise off at all costs. It seems as if he doesn’t want to be noticed--which is entirely true. New situations make him uncomfortaable, and he can become very routed in his own schedule and his home location. This made coming to the Weyr a challenge for P'tol, who was overwhelmed by the dragonriders and the dragons, if not slightly afraid of them, though since Impressing Llath that fear has disappeared.
History: P'tol grew up at the Beastcraft Hall, where the quiet animals and lack of any sort of wildness gave him a sort of confidence. Around the large animals, he knew exactly how to act, while humans remained rather enigmatic, despite his constant settling of disputes in his family.
P'tol is the second of three children, having one older brother and one younger sister. His father is still alive, but his mother perished in the first Threadfall. P'tol hides his grief quietly, though it is obvious that it effects his greatly. P'tol’s mother was his closest confidante, his only ‘friend’. At his mother’s death, P'tol became the ‘mother’ of the family, taking care of his younger sister and providing meals for them. He developed a high degree of empathy for everyone, closing his own heart to his grief, and becoming stronger in the process.
At the age of twelve Turns, when he was first sent to become an apprentice, P'tol was taken in to deal with the fowl and the felines of the Hall. Such small and normally quiet animals suited his nature, and P'tol took care of them with his quiet efficiency. Later, he moved to working with the burden-beasts, a normally dangerous profession, though he found the animals to be good friends, and a comfort to his locked-away grief. His father didn't even seem upset that his son was viewed as feminine, since the father had an open mind, and a straight son already.
When P'tol was Searched, he reluctantly left the life he was comforable with to start a new life, though it took the urging of his father and his two siblings convinced him to get on the dragon’s back and go to a new place, and the uncomfortable situation of being a Candidate. But it quickly became completely worth it when he Impressed Llath and fell madly in love with the babyish green. No matter the difficulties, he knew he had to stay--for her sake.
Name: Llath
Color: Green
Age: 2 Turn
Physical Appearance: Llath is probably the most vivid green of the clutch. Her color is so bright that it appears to be almost acidic, completely at odds with her personality. There are no darker patches on her hide to break the blinding hue, making Llath sometimes painful to look at for too long, especially when she is near Rising. The color is seamless and even, though it fades a bit near her extremities, making her bright, rather than blinding. It's hard to miss Llath, and she attracts a fair bit of attention that neither she nor her rider want, or feel like they deserve. Heads turn to eye the bright green- she's not very pretty, color wise, but she is unusually enough to get this attention.
Llath's proportions are slightly off, but that's fairly normal. She has none of the deformaties some of her siblings possess, which P'tol is graceful for. Instead, she's well built, though a bit on the weedy side. Everything about Llath appears slightly elongated, out of proprotion to the rest of her. Her wings are long but fairly narrow, as are the rest of her limbs. Llath's tail is the only part of her that looks functionally thick. It is also rather short, making quick turns in the sky more difficult for Llath than it might for other greens. All in all, Llath is fairly stork-like, and it's uncertain if she'll ever grow out of her gangly and awkward build.
Though Llath looks as though she should be large (and could even be mistaken for a good sized green for a distance), she in fact quite small. She'll never reach the full green size, but she's not the smallest green in the Weyr either. Instead, she settles for something between the two, content with the fact that she is smaller than average.
Personality: This little girl is a complete sweetheart. P'tol is her world, and it shows in her obvious devotion to almost every move he makes. Her eyes are always turned adoringly on him, and she can get quite distressed if P'tol is feeling some sort of negative emotion. Even as she grows larger, Llath will want to follow P'tol everywhere, not letting him out of her sight for even a minute.
Llath's devotion only stretches so far as P'tol. Other people completely scare her, and she can't stand to have any sort of attention on her (besides P'tol's, of course). The minute anything scares her, she will rush to P'tol's side, trying to hide her head in his knees. The fact that Llath will soon be too big to do this doesn't seem to cross her mind. She's the permenant child, unwilling to accept that one day she will have to grow up, and behave as an adult dragon. Until the day she dies, Llath will be stuck in this mindset of a baby dragon. It's rather adorable, actually, as long as you aren't the one who has to deal with this behavior. Llath goes so far as to be completely afraid of the dark, and can't be left alone at night. If P'tol is not there, she panics, growing completely flustered and bugling for attention until he comes to calm her down.
As you can probably guess, Llath isn't the brightest dragon, but she tries so hard that it more than makes up for that fault. There is some hidden source of strength in this little girl that makes her push until she can understand a task enough to perform it. Llath is horrible at making her own decisions, but can perform quite well if someone else tells her exactly what to do. Details can't be missed when you give Llath directions, or she'll get confused and make mistakes. A confused Llath makes an unhappy Llath, and if she doesn't figure out something after numerous tries, she needs P'tol to take her off somewhere and give her a good oiling.
All in all, Llath could do well under the proper leadership. Will Selenitas give her what she needs? Only time will tell.
Name: Naima
Color: Green
Age: 3
Appearance: Forest green, average sized, but thin and bony. Her wings are particularly bony, so it looks like she has hide stretched across the bones and little else, but she looks relatively normal, if underfed, elsewhere. No matter how much she eats, she will never bulk up.
Personality: Argues a lot with other flitters, seems to be a know-it-all, likes to smugly sit on bonded’s shoulder. Pretty much a snooty little beast.
Name: X
Species: Feline (male)
Age: kitten
Description: A white feline without any marks. It has green eyes and short fur.
Personality: A hunter, X likes to bring back small dead creatures for his owner, which Llath promptly eats. He loves to ride around on Llath and doesn't get along very well with Naima, believing the green flitter to be food.
