Killed in Wasteland Invasion
Humans:
Name: Rof'l
Age: 13 Turns
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Candidate
Physical Appearance: Rofinel, or Rofi, as his close friends call him, is rather short for his age, appearing to be around five feet. He is lean, maybe even lanky, with prominent collarbones and hip bones. His eyes are a hazy blue, almost grey, with soft specks of gold and green dancing in his irises. The resulting color appears somewhat plain and ordinary, but upon closer inspection, shows intricate patterns and colors. His face is somewhat round, giving him a youthful, immature look.
His face is rather plain, and nothing about it seems to stand out. His nose is very standard-issue, relatively straight but with the average slight imperfection on the bridge. It isn’t large, it isn’t small, it simply is. Likewise, his other facial features simply are. His eyes are slightly different than most male eyes, however. The shape is a bit larger than usual, giving him an innocent look.
Thick, long lashes frame them. Someone critical of him would say he looked like a woman, but most note that it gives him a simply…different…appearance. His lips are a soft pinkish-tan color, often pulled into a smile, and his complexion is somewhat rosy. His hair is a golden blond, streaked with a lighter honey-mustard color. As previously stated, he is rather plain for the most part.
Personality: Rofinel is very friendly and sweet. He has a natural charm about him, easily drawing people in. He is very energetic and talkative, perhaps too much so for some people’s taste. His speech is often meandering, as he is unable to stay on one subject. He is comfortable around any person, and can make most people feel the same around him.
He is playful and immature, enjoying joking around and having fun. He is very child-like, and lives for innocent pleasures. Although he is not the smartest, he knows how to make people feel liked. He also knows how to play on his cute appearance to get his way. He has many hobbies such as eating, swimming, and playing.
He also enjoys playing with the Weyr’s fire lizards and children, as they share his simple, fun innocence. Sometimes he admires dragons and their riders soaring through the sky, jealously wishing he could fly too. He often sketches the dragons, attempting to capture their fine majesty. He loves shiny things and often ventures to the river to collect metallic rocks.
History: A young green Sorth was flown by the older blue Alith, creating a bond between two young people. It was on that day that Amika and T’syn fell in love. Amika became pregnant, and both were so happy when their baby boy was born.
Rofi grew up loved by both his parents, living a charmed life. He was loved by nearly every adult in the Weyr, as one of the sweetest weyrbrats. He helped out everywhere: the kitchens, with the riders, with the healer. As a compassionate little boy, he always tried to comfort those in need of it.
Life was simple, full of small pleasures and helpful acts. He remembered once his father took him on Alith to a gather. He’d gotten lost, unable to find his father until the end of the gather. He would never forget the relief he felt to see his dad again, something familiar in a lonely, unknown place. They said he didn’t have to go visit a hold ever again.
Happiness was short-lived, however. When he was only five, his father was killed by a particularly nasty thread wound from one of the first falls. Shortly after, Shmee Impressed a gold, breaking the bloodline, and the Weyrwoman’s daughter killed herself. T’syn would have wanted to know that. Then, just after Shmee became Weyrwoman, Sorth was flown again.
Amika had been scarred by her love’s death, and had tried to live a life without excessive pain. For a while, she had some success, burying her life in her son and her dragon. On the day that Sorth rose, however, it was all too much. To her dismay, the green was caught by R’ben’s brown. He was nice, she supposed, but she hated him anyways.
That night, Amika and her Sorth flew between, never to be seen again. Heartbroken, Rofi locked himself in his room for nearly a week without eating or sleeping. At age seven, his only family was the people of the Weyr, but their adoration turned to pity. He eventually left his room, and spent much of his time drawing and sleeping.
When he was eleven, he was shocked when Shmee was poisoned. He’d held such admiration for her. She had overcome such odds to become a queenrider, and eventually Weyrwoman. She had been through so much, and had escaped death just a year before. In the Siege of Selenitas, his beloved Weyr went through destruction, but the Benden Weyrleader and weyrsecond were both killed.
Hepaticath's eggs were almost stolen, but eventually hatched on Selenitas Sands. High Reaches Weyr was destroyed, and his Weyr had taken in the displaced survivors. Fort, who had caused this, attacked Selenitas in retaliation, but Rofi was proud to say his Weyr held off the intruders.
Candidates Only
Name Contraction: Rof’l
Desired Dragon Color: A brown would be awesome, but whatever you like. ^^
Dragon, Wher, or both?: Dragon
Name: Kamath (from ‘Kama’ meaning “love, desire”)
Age: newly hatched
Color: bronze (EAB800)
Appearance: Though a glance might make a person think that this bronze is a large one, Kamath is surprisingly just about average for his color, an anomaly in a clutch from two large parents. His build is light and slender, yet still powerful, lean muscle stretched across a very slight frame. There is no hint of bulk anywhere on his frame, and were one to not take a good look at him, he would appear to be lacking in muscle. He lacks most of the characteristics that define male dragons, instead possessing very slight ridges and a slim head that is more reminiscent of a dainty green that a strong bronze. Despite this, his body beautiful in its proportions, and he will certainly turn a head or two.
Kamath is every inch a metallic in coloration, though lacking the greenish or rainbow hues that bronzes can sport. Instead, his coloration is almost an orange-hinted gold of about four different shades, the various hues swirled over his hide in such a subtle pattern that from a distance, his hide would seem to be mostly of one solid color. Only up close is the pattern revealed, and it glistens brightly enough that foreign bronzes may have to take a second look to make sure that Kamath is not simply a small and masculine sort of queen. The only break in this pattern looks as though someone took his muzzle and dipped the end in a glistening bowl of chocolate. The color coats his face from the nosetip to roughly halfway between his nostrils and eyes, giving him a little half-mask to wear around. Strangely, this shade of bronze that borders on brown glistens just as much as the rest of him.
While unremarkable in build, Kamath will forever be known for his flying prowess. His endurance is no better or worse than any other bronze, though he can work to improve that. His flexibility, however, is astounding. Kamath’s joints and spine seem to be able to bend in impossible ways, and he will be able to twist and twine in the air in ways that will make other bronzes envious. His extraordinary control over his limbs and body will have to be practiced in order to be maintained, and His will probably have to work with dragonhealers to develop a set of stretches for Kamath to work with. He is graceful on the ground as well, though he would usually prefer to be found in a resting position, twined like an overlarge winged snake around rocks, trees, or whatever female happens to be laying nearby.
Personality: Ambitious. Obnoxious. Arrogant. …Perhaps only ‘arrogant.’ Kamath is at his happiest when relaxing, basking in the glow of some new delight. He seems to have missed the fact that he is supposed to be leading and instead takes a back seat to whatever clever dragon decides to lead him around by the nose. This is not to say that Kamath is stupid. Rather, he prefer to let everyone else lead and do things, which means he is probably rather lazy. His planning and organizing inclinations are negligible at best, and though he might improve through association with His and others, don’t expect him to be leading any wings in the near future. He would much prefer to be enjoying himself and having His dote upon him than spending his time in fussing over silly things like wing formations. Really? Who spends time on that?!
The most prominent part of Kamath’s personality, though, is his love for all things good and fine. This is a dragon that enjoys the quality things in life, and though he will settle for the older and tougher herdbeast from the feeding grounds, he would much prefer to go hunt a plump and juicy wild wherry. It is only about his personal care that he chooses to raise a fuss, insisting on regular baths and oilings. As a weyrling, he will probably drive His near to madness with his insistence that his meat be chopped just so. Most of this fussing is only noticeable to His, however, for Kamath appears perfectly relaxed and at ease to the rest of the world. He has a good eye for fine quality items of all types, and so he likes to collect a little hoard of nice things. Of course, it could turn out to be embarrassing if that belongs to someone else. That never crosses his mind, though, when he sets out to take it. Kamath is a bit selfish, and he will have what he wants. When pressed, he will return the purloined item with a suitable apology… and then go find another nice item to replace it. Must keep the collection intact, you understand.
Above all, though, Kamath is inherently good and kind. He wishes the best for himself, for His, and for others, though he wishes for it in that order. He seems to be blind to issues of rank and color and will talk to anyone with the same casual friendliness, even if he doesn’t consider them all to be quite on the same level of magnificence as his. When it comes to flights and mating, though, his arrogance comes out. He wants only the best, prettiest, smartest, most skilled mates… and yes, he is something of a collector of females. Why settle for one when he can be in the good graces of many? When not demanding spoiling from His, he will probably, even at a tender young age, be found twined and sleeping around some female. He does so enjoy a good snuggle, as His will probably find out when Kamath tries to climb up onto his cot at night. What is good enough for His is good enough for Kamath, after all.
Rosita Patch Blue
Name: Pinch
Impressed to: Rof'l
Age: Hatchling
Color Code: 000017 Blue
Appearance:
This mandyr has perhaps the most normal body type of the entire clutch. Proportionately he is nothing special. He has the proper musculature, tail length, and neck for a salamander of his color. Like his mother he has the same bony spines jutting out from behind his head, again with the lack of any membrane to make a frill. His wings, like the rest of his siblings, are large, wide and proportionate to his body. They will enable him to actually fly once he gets and hang of such. He has the lean muscle mass most blues sport and will undoubtedly rival some flits in agility. Even if he will never have the stamina of his bigger cousins.
His coloration is where his blue stands out. He is nothing short of spectacular. His dark navy blue hide is speckled with smaller whitish blue spots. Ranging in size from large to miniscule. The dots are clustered all over his body and seem to congregate most on his back where they form swirls and eddies. Giving one the illusion of looking at a night sky full of stars. His wing membranes are the same dark blue as his body. However when fully flared there are two markings that make them unique. He sports two large eye markings. One on each wing. Pure white makes up the outer ring, while the pupil of these ‘eyes’ are colored in with a shocking electric blue.
Personality:
This mandyr is far from your stereotypical mandyr. In fact he seems to take after his mother in temperament. He is very calm and easy going. In fact the concept of anger is so foreign to him that you are more likely to upset him than make him angry. He prefers to spend his time lounging and watching the goings on of creatures around him. This blue is not lazy by a long shot and will perform tasks when he is bidden, he just prefers watching to working. He is inclined to pick up bits of information that seem totally irrelevant. Like who is visiting who’s weyr more often and the Weyrleader’s favorite food. While these trivial bits of information might seem useless to some this mandyr is more than happy to go on and on about it for hours if you let him. His propensity to bather may put some people off but his bonded will no doubt find this trait endearing and annoying. Especially considering this mandyr is quite intelligent and the words shut up mean nothing to him.
This blue has a love for words and things of that nature and his vocabulary will be nothing short of mind boggling. He is also articulate. Capable of forming full sentences that most would attribute only to queen mandyrs. However he never seems to retain anything but pointless information. On top of that he likes to pick and choose his own topics of conversation. Which is a pity. As far as other draconic creatures go he is perfectly comfortable to speak to them in they offer a willing ear. No prejudices in this little guy. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, he will also likely never get a mate. Simply because he feels he has no use for one. He will collect females that he likes but as soon as they move to run he quickly loses interest. Obviously there are far more interesting things in the world than glowy females.
