Died in Wasteland Invasion
I apologize if this is horrid. >.< I'm still trying to learn all about the history and the lands and hell, Pern in general.
Humans:
Name: W'yn (Win)
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Rank: Bronzerider
Physical Appearance:
Tall and muscled, W'yn stands at about 6'4 and about 210Lbs. His blonde hair is cropped short and kept neatly combed to keep out of his blue eyes. W'yn holds himself with an air of arrogance, generally standing with his arms folded and a sneer on his face. His eyes hold little to no expression except for the most part disdain. He's fastidious about his personal appearance, and keeps his clothes neat, his hair combed and his face shaved. He is far from being a pretty man, though some women do find him handsome in a rugged way.
His tip of his ring finger on his left hand is missing from his first meeting with Grinth. He generally wears a black leather glove with iron clad knuckles over it to hide it. His back is lacerated with minor scars from combat training and times where his teachers felt the whip was a better tool than any words. The skin above his right shoulder blade is disfigured from threadscore.
Slung across his back is an ironwood, steel-tipped staff. The steel tips are tinged with splashes of crimson. W’yn doesn’t bother cleaning it.
Personality:
Arrogant and proud, W'yn is an old school defect from Benden Weyr. He prefers solving things with his fist versus his tongue, and is generally of the opinion that waiting for proof of guilt is a waste of time. He hates weakness in others and especially himself, and the only people who earn his respect are people of generally the similar mindset that can hold their own. He is an excellent liar and able to present himself as cordial and even nice when the situation arises, though it is very rare that he is truly ever any of these things. Most people at Benden familiar with him knew to never trust a smiling W'yn.
He considers women to be inferior riders and men who ride Greens to be pathetic. When he was at Benden, it was not uncommon for W'yn to force himself on women on nights he felt particularly vicious. On other nights he might simply haze new riders. Since coming to Selenitas, W'yn has made an effort to resist such habits until he can find a solid footing to gain some influence. His patience has been slowly waning though from keeping a mask up all the time and there are occasions where he might snap without provocation when away from the Weyr.
History:
Orphaned at a young age in Benden Weyr, a young Weslyn found out the easiest way to survive was to take whatever he wanted through force. He spent most of his childhood bullying other children and beating up those who dared to defy him. He accumulated a number of lackeys, and for the most part they terrified children and the Weyrfolk. Since the first time he saw a dragon soaring through the skies above him, Weslyn knew that was where his path lay. Dragons were power, and power was something he coveted.
He was 14 when he impressed upon the Bronze Grinth. The young hatchling was voraciously greedy and stubborn, but the second W’yn saw him he knew. Unfortunately it wasn’t until after the hatchling bit the tip of his finger off that he impressed upon W’yn. Some thought he would be angry to have lost his finger, but W’yn had simply smiled.
When he went to War against Fort at the age of 17, he surprised many people with his skill and prowess. He fought viciously for the remainder of the War, earning himself much recognition amongst his peers. His skill at both fighting and flying were almost unmatched.
He was fiercely loyal to C'leon, one of the few men that W'yn has ever truly respected. He followed his orders blindly, assisting in the kidnapping of Shmee and other atrocious acts.
When C'leon died though and J'lorin ascended to Weyrleader, W'yn left Benden in disgust at the changes being made and at have losing the Flight to an Outsider. He believed J'lorin to be too soft, and W'yn felt no loyalty nor desire to remain. He had contemplated simply killing the man but instead decided that Benden was out of his grasp right now. He headed to Selenitas Weyr, asking refuge and saying he was reformed.
Dragon:
Name: Grinth
Color: Brown
Age: 15
Physical Appearance: Grinth is a large dragon, even by Bronze standards at 39ft in length. His hide is supple and a deep amber, though his wings are slightly darker. He is a bit bulky sometimes making him slower than other dragons, to W’yn chagrin, but his endurance is impressive and he can fly for several leagues without tiring. There is a long scar along his snout from the blade of a Rider from Fort. Along with this, his hide is scattered with various scars from Thread, fire and war.
Personality:
Grinth seems to be almost a perfect match for W'yn in that he is a silent, seemingly proud dragon. He barely speaks, except to occasionally express his disgust with something or someone and it is almost never to anyone but W'yn. Grinth loves to hunt and takes pleasure in the kill. He does not hesitate to attack humans and has sometimes expressed his curiosity to how they might taste.
