Enkala Weyr -- Nothing will ever change me

By the beginning of 7th Pass, all but a few traces of where the humans of Pern came from remain. From their history the people know to expect the dreaded Thread to fall when the Red Star appears in the sky and then the dragonriders of Pern ready themselves to fight the deadly pores to prevent them from devouring all in its path.

The small Enkala Weyr has had its share of troubles – an accident with the Junior Queen with going Between along with her rider and not coming out; the general decline in morale; the lack of finances and resources and the continuing and growing mistrust and disdain of the Holders and other settlers surrounding the Weyr. Having requested the bigger Weyrs to send them a new Queen, the folk at Enkala greet the new Weyrwoman with reservations. But there is little time to waste. Thread is coming soon and the newcomers gold is needed to replenish their dwindling numbers.

For Enkala Weyr, a new era begins. It is time to prove once more to all of Pern that dragons and dragonriders are indeed the last line of defense against their old all-consuming enemy. The young Weyrwoman must establish herself fast so the Weyr can make their final preparations before Threadfall.

Winds of Fury is a relatively new Dragonriders of Pern RPG forum with a lot of potential. Although we are an alternative universe roleplay, our theme is traditional. There are five dragon colours and the plots are simple yet brilliant. First and ultimate goal for the Weyr is to rise to the challenge of fighting the Thread in defense of the planet, surviving and mastering the Flight and live out their lives in this dangerous environment. Subplots are available to pique the interest of different folk – there is romance, feuds, military roleplay and anything else that could take place in a community such as this.

The new weyrleaders -- a transfer Queen -- trying to sort out the problem, the rest of Pern isn't making it easy on the radical little Weyr. A vicious attempt to poison the dragon population almost caused its downfall and now riders from other Weyrs are encroaching to cease control over Enkala. But Thread is falling now and there are barely enough of Enkalans to rise to the sky to defeat this ancient enemy of Pern. What will happen next?

Latest news: Thread is falling and the riders of Enkala -- helped by High Reaches -- are rising to meet the leading edge of fall! The Weyr has settled a little with the change of weyrleadership but 'Fall is a big strain on already shaky trust.
There was a Hatching and young Weyrlings of all colours(bar Gold) are available for play to test the new Weyrlingmaster. Holders are preparing for the greatest wedding of the year as the Lord Holder's heir is getting wed to his betrothed.

Wanted: Weyrlings from the new Clutch(dragonets are currently month(s) old) and previous clutch (all colours available, these dragons are a Turn old), Weyrfolk, Holders for the new hold and of course, Dragonriders (Green riders of both gender!)!
