Paglieth squeaked and hopped out of the way when Darya went stomping past, afraid his tail was going to get mashed up into nothing once it got stepped on. Thankfully, he kept his tail safe by swinging it around his body in the other way. The blue watched Darya go for a moment, then turned his attention back toward the room where his was sitting. Ummmm ... now what?
L'nu, for his part, just turned in his seat to watch the weyrlingmaster go. What was that all about? She seemed awful cranky ... but why? Had someone said something wrong? He thought about what she said for a moment, and then decided he'd better heed that advice... he didn't want to ruin his brand new belt. Getting to his feet, he made his way back out of the suddenly too-busy class room, stepped past weyrlings, and patted Paglieth on the head. "Come on, my friend." He answered the curious look.
A quick jog back up the hall to his room, and he stripped out of his clothes and donned something else, something far grungier. Just in case ... no telling just how nasty a job she had been talking about! Paglieth stood in the doorway, swinging his tail back and forth, back and forth, with the most attentive look on his face. Something crossed between surprise, and confusion. When L'nu saw that, he couldn't help but bark a laugh. Finished redressing, he hopped back out of the room and looked up and down the hall. "Call the other two. She wanted the other two called."
Ok. Barienoth and Tuelzanth, bed time~! Don't bring yours' to the area outside the class room, class is already over! Paglieth announced, before shutting up suddenly when L'nu popped him lightly on the back of his head. He looked up at his, confused. What?
"Not like that! Tell them the truth." L'nu told him, firmly.
Paglieth dropped his head, realizing how he'd messed up. I mean, class is starting... he added. How embarrassing. But it was short lived, as just a moment later he was hopping up to all four feet, perky again as he pranced happily after L'nu to the lesson area. Oh, look! We're going to starve! I mean ... we're not going to starve! He announced to L'nu, catching himself that time.
L'nu caught one sight of the heap, and his whole face wrinkled up and almost vanished inside his mouth. "EW!"

The brown returned Eveyth's croon before shifting his attention to the guarded doorway. That would be unfortunate for them. he replied cordially enough to Chakraith's words of advice. He doubted any one of his clutchsiblings would able to knock him over if they didn't see him. A small possibility, if you ask him. Besides, he had left enough room for each to pass, there was no need for the pile up to have begun.
A light nudge to Posilanth as she paused in front of him. Silly green, forgetting his name. Trilaranth He rumbled friendly enough, eyes whirling with amused greens – his attention quickly shifting to the arriving Paglieth; his roommate. He made a slight snapping motion at the blue in response to the peculiar greeting.
R'ven blinked at Darya's brisk introduction to the lessons, and then her sudden exit. On the field. They were suppose to go the field. Why did they have to report to the classroom first if she intended on making them leave before everyone had even settled down? We should have stayed out there.
Complaining about it isn't going achieve anything.
Trilaranth considered this for a moment, then, with a mental shrug on both parts, the brown dragon followed his siblings toward the field (in no hurry to arrive). R'ven had to wait patiently for the others to stream out the doorway before following suit. He could feel his companion's growing tiredness; having spent a good deal of the morning walking around the weyr.
With no regard to what they were suppose to be doing, Trilaranth pulled a bone from the mass and claimed a dry section of grass. With a strong close of his jaws the tip of the bone splintered. A very satisfying feeling, he mused while idly watching his siblings.

((If your character isn’t here yet, pretend they are, do the next post as if they’re already there, or post them arriving at the beginning. Whatever you like.))
Azrath gave J’ash a hurt look, in as much as he could, for his comment on the food. Didn’t Craivaruth’s know that Azrath had hunted for these beasts only an hour or so ago? How could they possibly be rotting? Agitatedly the blue rose and prodded each heap in turn, reassuring himself that the meat was still fresh. Darya rolled her eyes at the expressions some of the weyrlings were wearing and kicked something long and slippery back at the organs pile.
‘Dragon nutrition.’ She announced in a voice that wasn’t exactly shouting but certainly carried right to the back of the group. ‘How you can be bonded to those walking stomachs and not be used to the sight of butchered animals I don’t know. But anyway, these heaps represent your dragons’ diets. When they’re big enough to make their own kills they’ll eat pretty much the whole beast, until then it’s your‘ Darya paused and her finger stabbed accusingly around the class ‘responsibility to make sure they’re getting the right food.’
‘Now, this,’ Darya reached into the most, er, pleasant of the heaps and withdrew a lump of muscle that wouldn’t have been out of place in the kitchens, ‘Is what you’ll have mostly been feeding your dragons thus far. It provides them with the energy they need to grow, and the nutrients to do it, I’m sure you’ve all noticed how much a young dragon can pack away in the way of food. It’s all going into them outgrowing their hides, in a month or so they’ll slow down. Now, although they do need to consume a large amount of muscle there are a few other things they need.’
Darya took a few paces along until she came to the heap of organs, which she simply kicked. ‘Internal organs provide trace nutrients that your dragon won’t get from muscle tissue alone, so make sure they get some, they don’t need huge amounts but it is important.’ Darya turned and plucked some things off the edge of the heap. ‘Hearts and livers. Concentrated energy. If your dragon’s complaining about being hungry right before lessons or drills give them a few of these, it’ll take the edge off and give them enough energy to get through without making them sleepy or too heavy to fly, then you can feed them as normal when you’re done with whatever.’ Darya tossed the liver back on the pile, where it wobbled balefully and the heart straight up in the air, where Azrath snatched and swallowed it in one swift motion.
‘Next up is bones. Again there are trace minerals in there, you don’t have to feed them ground bone or anything, just let them chew on bones every so often. The dragons enjoy bone marrow and it provides them with a bit of entertainment as well. So that’s good for you lot as well, just make sure you give them herdbeast bones, wherry bones splinter too easily. Hides, some dragons eat them, some play with them, and some discard them as too hairy, they don’t make too much difference so let your dragon do as he or she pleases with them.’
Darya stepped away from the last heap of bones and hides and wiped her hands down her trousers. ‘Well, feed your dragons whatever they want out of this lot, it’ll probably all need cutting down. You winged ones, remember to chew and don’t get greedy because there’s a second half to this lesson and you’ll need to be awake.’
Now that the piles were apparently a free for all Azrath wasted no time in fishing out and eating every heart he could see until Darya brought a fist down on his nose. ‘One, how’re they weyrlings suppose to give their dragons hearts if you eat them all? Two, I said don’t get greedy.’
They can have the livers. Azrath replied, totally unmoved.

L'nu's attention shifted from the discombobulated piles of edible and non-edible offal and protein sprawled out on the ground to Darya when she started talking. He couldn't help but go a little green around the gills when she started handling the stuff. Sure, he'd been feeding Paglieth, but it has been good, clean meat. Not ... guts. Good, clean meat that was neatly cut! Not ... eaugh. Some of that stuff he was pretty certain only canines would even consider eating ... and even then they'd roll in it first before puking it back up afterward to roll in it again.
Simply put, L'nu didn't like canines. But he would have so loved to keep that kitten... unfortunately he couldn't keep the kitten. He felt lucky he'd gotten to keep Rose... shiny creature that she was. It hadn't taken him long at all to catch on that there weren't very many gold-colored creatures around, compared to all the others. Queens, they were. Like ... bees. Only... bigger. And without stingers. Wait, she was still talking. What about? Oh, guts again. Still. Bleh.
Paglieth, though, crept forward past Azrath, as if he expected to get bitten for the action, sneaking up to the far side of a heap. Head snapping forward, he grabbed a mouthful of the delectable stuff before scurrying backward, dragging his claimed prizes with him. Among them was a lung, a liver, and an entire chunk of hide dragging after due to one strip hung on his teeth. Without L'nu realizing, Paglieth circled back around behind him, before setting it all down and looking down at it happily, drooling. Sprawling out right there on the ground, he grabbed the liver and started trying to gnaw a chunk off the side to a size that was swallowable.
The grinding, crunching, gnarly noises of teeth rending through flesh got L'nu's attention fast enough though and he almost shrieked to jump away when he realized what he was looking at. "Paglieth!!!" He scolded. "What are you doing?!"
I'm drinking. came the distracted answer. Mmmmmmm goooooood ... no other bit of meat he'd ever had before was this good!!! Getting the idea that L'nu might take the tastey over-sized morsel away, Paglieth went straight into trying to just simply cram it all into his mouth and get it swallowed. never mind the liver was bigger than his entire head.
"ACKK!" L'nu pounced on his blue and started trying to wrestle that back out of Paglieth's maw before he choked to death and died. "No! Don't eat that! No! Bad dragon!!"
Mine!! Paglieth protested, wrangling his head back and forth trying to get out of L'nu's grasp and keep the liver too.

Nightmare? Cer’c regarded Darya’s introduction with curiosity. He couldn’t tell whether she was joking in a manner that seemed common in the Weyr. After Trilaranth finally moved out of the way, Cer’c and Harmonyth speedily caught up with Darya and settled down on a patch of grass off to the side (Harmonyth’s choosing). The pile of internal organs were mildly disturbing to the greenweyrling. Yes yes, he’d been feeding his dragon piles of meat slabs since their bonding but those slabs were neatly cut rather than… this mess.
Cer’c swallowed as they quivered like thick gelatin against Darya’s boot. Maybe it was a good thing he didn’t wake up early enough for breakfast as he was feeling queasy already just from the sight of body parts sitting in a pile of thick, dark, blood. Maybe he would become a vegetarian after this.
At the conclusion of Darya’s speech, Cer’c hesitated in place. He could feel Harmonyth’s questioning gaze on his back. Mine? she inquired with an idly flick of her tail. When Cer’c didn’t move, she got up and scurried past him to the pile. Well, if Hers was going to be so squeamish, she should just get right to it before the other hatchlings got rowdy.
She clamped her maw over one of the hearts, finding it a little too big for her to comfortably swallow in one gulp she hurried back to Cer’c and practically forced the dripping muscle into his hands. Please hold for me, she said and quickly returned to the pile before he could object.
Cer’c’s face wrinkled up at the gooey item in his hand. Was it just his imagination or was the heart still pulsing? No no! The image of Azrath snatching up a whole lot of hearts crossed his mind and he realized that they must be something of a delectable to dragons. Maybe Harmonyth was saving the best for last. Must not let it drop. He looked suspiciously at the other hatchlings. Must not let anyone steal.
Taking a deep breath, he clutched the organ against his chest with one hand and did his best to ignore the warm blood seeping through his shirt. He briskly past where Harmonyth was busy gnawing at a liver to grab a chunk of meat--something a little more familiar visually and texturally--and drag it over to the little green.

Mavenath waited until the rest of his siblings had vacated the room before leaving himself. Come Crymine they will not wait for us. Cr’oph just stared at his dragon for a moment before exiting the room himself. “I don’t see why we just didn’t start out at the field if that’s where we where supposed to be going all along.” She must have had some reason. She is the teacher, you are the student. Remember such my dear rider. Yeah….sure. The bronze weyrling stood to the back of the class as Darya began class. He knew this stuff already. Boring.
Mavenath on the other hand paid strict attention. As their Weyrlingmaster left them to their own devices he rumbled and made for the bone pile. Snatching one the bronze tilted his head back and cracked it in a bite exposing the marrow. Crooning he dropped the bone and grabbed another, effortlessly cracking it as well. Cr’oph watched his bronze in confusion. “What are you doing?” Providing for those who would otherwise have a harder time getting to the marrow. Sweet of you….why? Call it building bonds. Crooning the larger bronze turned to his siblings. If any of you wishes for some marrow I have enough for each of you. Swishing his tail he looked directly at Trilaranth his tone changing to one of respect. Except you my dear clutch brother. I am sure you are more than capable of getting your own.
With a toss of his head the bronze made his way to the pile of muscle and dropped his head to select a few choice pieces. Crymine be a good rider and fetch me a liver or two? The red head sighed but complied. "Lazy beast." The words however contained no ill feeling and the bronze crooned smugly as he swallowed, eyes whirling in peaceful greens.
~~~~
The sight of the quivering masses of dissected heardbeast was one Erilena was strangely not turned off by. Feyrianth had to be fed and she had steeled her nerves against the sight of blood long ago. Her mother dabbled a bit in the healing arts after all and to be truthful she had seen worse than slaughtered animals. The green weyrling strived to stay focused even as her bouncing green concentrated on her own stomach. Darling please try to pay attention. I am sure you will get a chance to eat. Oh I do hope so. Came the wistful reply. A crack reverberated through the air and Feyrianth turned toward the source. Oh her Trilaranth brown clutch brother! Crooning in his direction she flounced over towards him and flopped down next to the bigger dragon. That looks awfully hard. Wouldn’t it be easier to eat something softer? She questioned eyes turned up to regard the bone as he gnawed on it.
Having been sufficiently instructed Erilena perused the piles of soft flesh in pursuit of what she decided would be best to feed her little darling. A generous portion of muscle first. Next she selected a piece of liver from the pile and sawed away a small chunk before eyeing Mavenath in confusion. What was he doing?
Feyrianth shyly ducked her head behind Trilaranth as Mavenath spoke. It was very kind of him to offer she supposed but she just couldn’t take food from him. He was a bronze! Edging away from the pile of bones Erilena took a double take. Where did her green get off to? Finally she spied her next to Trilaranth and hid a smile behind a slightly bloodied hand. Ah well she supposed she could play the waitress just this once.
Crack.
Trilaranth's gnawing of bone periodically interrupted the weyrlingmaster's lesson. R'ven shot him a pointed glance, but otherwise did his best to listen to the lesson – if not for Trilaranth's sake, then for his own. Besides, the brown was content to break the bone between his jaws, and thus was less inclined to find other means of amusement. Crossing his arms, R'ven idled while his gazed wandered to the young dragons that eagerly edged toward the piles.
All except Trilaranth, who contently remained where he laid. Multi-faceted eyes whirled pleasantly upon receiving Feyrianth's company. His lovely clutchsister, the brown returned her croon from around the splintered femur. I enjoy the crunch. Picking up the bone, he offered the exposed marrow to her. Try some.
Setting the bone down to lean against Feyrianth's claws, Trilaranth's head swiveled to regard to bronze brother. The brown had no delusions of becoming leader of the weyr, so his respect towards the bronzes and golds came naturally – he returned the cordiality, albiet his eloquence could not match the bronze's. Quite capable. It pleased him that his metallic brother took notice.
Are you hungry? I'm fine. .. You are thinking about how it would make you sluggish. She did say something about a second half to the lesson. I'm sure no one is going to notice.. I'm sure Feymine won't mind sharing.
R'ven shook his head at the smug brown currently nuzzling Feyrianth, completely convinced of his own words. The smith tried to find Erilena to perhaps share a burdened look but his attention jerked to his roommate, L'nu. "Hey!" R'ven attempted to catch the blue weyrling before he could be thrown to the ground by the dragon. "Be careful – chew your food Pag."
An amused touch to his mind, Trilaranth, did he need to intervene with his bothersome clutchbrother? No, R'ven mentally declined. There would be no need to throw any weight around. Trilaranth calmly curled his tail across the grass. If his silly clutchbrother wanted to be foolish, then it would serve him right to be set back on track. Paglieth should take lessons from their gracious bronzebrother. Hmph. You're not exactly the epitome of manners yourself. No, Trilaranth rumbled with amusement as he viewed the on goings of the other weyrlings, but he could tell just by the underlying thoughts that His thought he was better.
I'm bias, what can I say?
Dy'shi was mildly confused by Xrx's reaction but he didn't have time to dwell on whatever he might have done well before the weyrlingmaster - Darya, as she introduced herself as - told them what he already knew. He was sure he could handle the nightmare so long as Chakraith would do it with him so he merely snorted and followed Darya out of the classroom. It was a bit odd to be called to the classroom only to leave it more or less as soon as they got there. Oh well, he was glad to leave it.
Chakraith gave the mental equivalent of a dragon shrug at Trilaranth's unwillingness to move. It wasn't her place to ask him to do so. As various clutchsiblings she returned polite mental feelings of greeting but otherwise didn't speak. A watcher and a listener, but not as much of a speaker. The room was a bit stuffy for her tastes and she rather thought Hers thought so too as he was quick to leave it once they were allowed.
The blue followed at a more sedate pace but she still arrived before at least half of her clutchsiblings. Testament to the speed with which Dy'shi had left the room. She tilted her head slightly as she felt a sudden wave of...something across the bond. Ah. I see that is our breakfast for today, she said gently. I'm guessing full bodies are necessary for learning about 'nutrition'? The slight questioning tone was meant for both of their benefit. A distraction from the dead things and a true question from Chakraith. She didn't know what nutrition meant after all.
Dy'shi rested a hand on his blue's head and nodded. "You're probably right. Nutrition has to do with what you eat and why its good or bad for you, things like that. The..um chunks I've been feeding you up until now I guess aren't all of what you'll need." The pair remained quiet as Darya explained with examples - the way she dropepd that was way gross - before the weyrlings were allowed to eat. Throughout the lecture Dy'shi could feel Chakraith's growing hunger and he was beginning to get a little sickened. Her hunger also added to own his hunger since he hadn't had breakfast either. It just seemed wrong to be feeling hungry while looking at corpses.
The hungry blue hatchling walked forward once given free reign and went to the furthest body from Hers and even most of the other dragonets. Her reasoning was there wouldn't be many who'd care to go the extra distance when they were hungry. She pulled at the intestines of the beast experimentally and they spilled out at her feet. She munched on them briefly but quickly abandoned the task when she heard Mavenath's offer of marrow. She wanted to try that. She approached and lowered her head to one. Manners first she supposed. Thank you, she told him before beginning to extract the marrow.
Hmm… this wasn’t so bad, Cer’c thought as he watched Harmonyth work her way through a section of liver and move onto the flank he had brought to her. Maybe it was just watching her eat, or maybe it was the wave of contentment he felt from their bond; either way, he no longer felt uneasy standing next to a pile of body parts, nor did he mind the heart that was still bleeding into his shirt.
Suddenly, Harmonyth lifted her head while a piece of meat still dangled from her jaw and turned sharply towards Mavenath. Cer’c followed her gaze and was somewhat perplexed to see a pile of cracked bones surrounding the Bronze. The Green didn’t say anything, but Cer’c sensed that she was debating something while harboring conflicting emotions. What is it?
Harmonyth tilted her head back and opened her mouth so that the meat could fall in. She flicked her tail and the bronze and stood up to stroll over to the selection of bones. She nosed about, looking for a smaller piece (though not the smallest). Cer’c watched with interest as she finally dragged a piece out (causing the pile to collapse on itself). She still had not explained what was going on, nor did he hear Mavenath’s offer.
The Green dragged the bone to where Cer’c stood waiting, then rested her front talons on the ends of the bone to hold it steady as she clamped down on the middle with her jaw. Cer’c reasoned then that she must be going for the marrow. Maybe she was trying to compete with the Bronze! He smiled endearingly at her likely futile attempt, though he was careful to not let that thought officially formalize. It took some time, but after a few minutes of steadfastly gnawing and grinding at the same section of the bone, Harmonyth was rewarded with a faint crack. Her eyes swirled green in delight and doubled her efforts. Very soon afterward, the bone snapped in two.
Yay!!! Cer’c mentally cheered, hopping a bit in excitement. Harmonyth looked at him, clearly pleased, then proceeded to gnaw on the exposed marrow.
As much as she appreciated her clutchbrother’s gesture, she wasn’t about to start growing dependent on others (other than Hers, that is) for something as basic as obtaining her own nourishment if she could help it.
Kiana had watched the whole interchanges with silent fascination. It wasn't her business, though. Not really. She and Tuelzanth were here to learn, not to get involved in that sort of thing. She'd had to leave Winter behind for the first time today, and the feline had simply settled herself onto her bed, curling up as though to say she could handle herself. Zanth's unusual fear of the feline had not helped matters too much. Why a dragon would fear a feline was beyond her. And yet, her roommate also had felines, so it was an unpleasant thing for her poor green. As they waited for the lesson to begin, the pair quietly watched everyone else, studying their fellow weyrlings and their dragons with a quiet sort of interest. Finally, however, they did begin, and the carcasses which Kiana, at least, had been trying to ignore, were suddenly brought to her attention more than she would have liked.
It wasn't exactly fair to say that Kia was squeamish. Yet the way their Weyrlingmistress pulled the muscle out, kicked the organs, and then picked up the other organs? Her stomach flip flopped, even though her dragon was watching in rapt attention, her stomach doing something else altogether. She might have known about this and yet nothing could really have prepared her for it. She would have to butcher animals. The thought made her close her eyes and take a deep breath. Zanth didn't seem to notice, too caught up in practically drooling at the sight of all that great food in front of her eyes. Kiana had to fight back nausea, and remind herself that it was her responsibility, and no one else would do it for her. She might as well get used to it. Still, the smell, the look, the thought of touching it...
What is wrong, mine? Are you hungry, too?
There was a measure of sincere concern in the young dragon's voice, and Kiana had to smile wryly. Was she hungry, indeed. Food was the last thing she wanted to think about, and yet she forced herself to reply, "no, love. That's your food, I already ate this morning." Her stomach was reminding her of that, too. Flipping and flopping as though the food inside didn't want to stay inside. Everyone else was doing it, and she would be no exception. So, she walked towards a beast with her dragon at her side, confusing her with the hunger she felt that wasn't her own. She was feeling ill one moment, and the next, as they drew closer, it was vanishing? She glanced at the green, who looked up at her expectantly. She could do this.
She pulled out some muscle, having to use a knife to cut through the sinewy stuff, and offered it to Zanth, who accepted it, and there was this pleasant feeling that came with it as the dragon ate it. She couldn't quite feel nauseated when her bond was quite obviously so content. It was a touch confusing, and yet it was making that horrible feeling fade. So, she forced herself to remove the liver, and the heart, and began cutting the organs up so that her bond could partake of them. Astonishingly, it was the liver that was the most disgusting. It was slippery and it smelled repulsive, it had to be yanked apart and her hands were slimy feeling afterward. The heart, however, surprised her. It was meaty, like the actual meat of the beast. It had a few strange parts, like the valves, but rather than be disgusting they cut like the meat, too. She found herself thinking about this rather than what she was doing, and as she fed the chunks to her dragon, she began to feel more like she was learning than doing something repulsive. The kidneys were odd, kind of like the heart, and yet like the liver, in texture. Still, she was glad the liver was over with. The heart and muscles were more easy to deal with.
Suddenly, the young dragon was looking over at one of the bronzes, and licked her maw. Kiana raised one eyebrow curiously as the green headed over. Something had been said, she was sure. Something only Tuelzanth could hear. Then she noted that the green had a large, thick bone in her mouth. What was she doing with that? She followed nonetheless, curious.
Excuse me, brothermine, could you show your clutchsister how to do that? Kiana grew ever more curious, until she noted the bones by the bronze, cracked open to reveal the marrow inside. Even she knew that marrow was packed full of nutrition. She smiled softly, and watched. She wouldn't hear what the bronze replied, and yet she would be able to hear her dragon's side of it, and see what happened.
Darya's blue had shot him an offended look. Feeling guilty, he didn't know what he could do to make it better - what did he even do wrong? Perhaps it is the fact that you insulted the well-earned rewards of his hunting. 'Ohh... Shoot! Quick, tell him I'm sorry.' Azrath, spoke Craivaruth publicly, J'ashmine did not mean to insult you or your findings. He apologizes. And the next part of the lesson began.
Hand subconsciously in front of his mouth, he watched as Darya held and kicked meat and organs. It was... gross. Necessary, yes, but gross. He forced his hand down to his side - he didn't want to disrespect Darya or her dragon again. It would be hard to get over something as disgusting as innards, but hopefully the bond between him and Craivaruth would act as a sedative. Add a positive to a negative and you get balance, right?
Azrath dove right in, eating as many hearts as he could find. As if in a race, Craivaruth shot forward as well - only to be stopped by J'ash grabbing the tip of his tail. Ouch, J'ashmine! What gives? I'm hungry! 'Sorry, buddy, but remember Darya saying that there was a second part to the lesson? And that eating a lot makes dragons heavier? Maybe we'll be learning to fly! So don't fill up on a lot. You're already going to have enough trouble as it is with your abnormally long wings, so don't make it harder on yourself, okay?' An orange-yellow swirled into the azure blue of Craivaruth's eyes. Alright. Releasing his tail, the blue-green slowly began his way to the already somewhat demolished pile, picking for something small yet nutritious.
Feeling bad, J'ash wanted to make up for restricting his dragon. He himself felt the gnawing hunger and desire for raw meat, although he didn't want to feel it. Wandering around, he wondered if he could find a heart anywhere. Apparently, those made for some mighty good eats - to dragons, at least. The other dragonets, including Azrath, had already snatched up a good amount of them...
Ah! There was one. Taking several deep breaths and then holding it, he quickly reached out, trying very hard (and not necessarily succeeding) to ignore the squishy feeling of the offal around it as his fingers clamped around the target organ. It came loose, and he retreated as meaty mush sunk and replaced the missing piece.
His palm was now slicked with already-cold blood, but he tried to ignore that, too. Although he was outright disgusted (and trying not to show it to save a certain dragon's feelings from being hurt), he was also excited, too, because knew Craivaruth would love what he had found.
"Craivaruth, look what I have for you!" J'ash tried to sound sing-songy, but instead sounded please-take-this-before-I-puke-up-my-own-heart. But His wasn't where he'd left him. Looking around, he spotted the malevolent-looking blue over at a Bronze. J'ashmine! You must try this! Bone marrow is amazing! And directed towards said Bronze, Thank you, clutchbrothermine. Remind me to break open marrow for you when you are weak and elderly.
A slight sinking feeling came over the gray-eyed young adult as he watched his dragon happily gnaw on bone marrow. 'If you're still hungry, I have something for you that I dug out myself..?' His dragon almost forgot to send back a message in his bliss, but sounded excited at J'ash's find as soon as he did. J'ashmine, you're the best.
Feeling relieved, J'ash sighed, plopping on his bottom. He breathed for a few moments, Craivaruth's joy washing over him like the pleasant heat of an afternoon sun at a beach. The somewhat squishy organ in his hand didn't seem so bad anymore. At least, not while he was "sedated".
This was an easy lesson for Dyudahlii. She had been learning to skin and gut animals since she could walk and she still trapped wild game daily. Of course, they were much smaller animals then the previous owners of the stacks of flesh, bone, and organs in front if her, but no big deal, she knew what she was looking for.
As soon as the Weyrling Master allowed it, Dyudahlii headed straight to the food piles. Don't forget the skin! Nemmalorith called out to her as she started for the pile of organs first. I won't I know you like them, though I've never given you a large one before. Don't harass Bawnii and Klaiid to much okay. Nemma had taken up to playing with the bits of hide and furs that Dyu had, scaring the canines with them by various means. Dyu ended up gathering a heart, liver, and a lung for good measure. Then she moved along to the other stacks to gather some muscle, a large bone, and a hide. She returned to Nemma having bundled the meat and organs into the hide for easier transport. She then plopped down the goods and started feeding Nemma slowly so she would not choke.
