Too close! Carenath got the message, peeling off to the left as Ellie swooped out of the canyon. He hadn't meant to get so close, but he'd certainly learned his lesson. He made a loop that took him above the rim, pausing at the apex of his partial circle before allowing the wind to take him off after the Queen. This time, he controlled his speed, allowing air to spill off his wings without using it, determined to keep a minimum of average flit-length between him and her. Considering the wind had caught her faster, though, his ability to keep his distance wasn't tested quite yet - he was behind already as she climbed to the heavens. Sometimes Carenath found the same gusts, sometimes he had to improvise, but the Bronze kept climbing, heedless of the increasing fall below.
As Carenath's zig-zag pattern brought him past Ellie's tail once again, he slowed, stalling out and hovering on the wind for a second while he got his bearings. The buffeting wind and thin air were taking their toll on the Bronze, who had to struggle much more than his larger brethren to keep on course - when the wind wanted to blow you away with every gust, it took something out of you. Mostly he'd been riding the wind as Ellie had, but whenever he strayed from an obvious gust he ran in to problems. Now, though, they were approaching the clouds, and a whole new worry surfaced in his mind. With the sudden turn in the weather, Carenath was wary of getting too cold, freezing his lean muscles in the clouds' dampness, cramping up and being forced to drop out. A sudden flash of water far below made him think about those that had splashed themselves or gotten wet. There was no way being up so high could be a pleasant experience for them. Well, if they were managing, he could take a chance! This high up the clouds were inevitable, but Carenath was ready. If nothing else, he would try.
Decision made, he went after Ellie again in a flurry of wings and tail, narrowly avoiding another chaser (this was a challenging flight, he wasn't about to waste time figuring out who it was). The wind swung him to the right, now, and Carenath let it pull him around, tumbling in dizzying corkscrews and somersaults. Might as well warm himself up as much as he could if Ellie was going to take them into the clouds. He held himself behind and off to one side, in easy view if she glanced back, but not nearly close enough to crowd. Wherever she went, he was ready to follow.

"You look like a roly poly man." A roly poly man. Reverting to the age of six, apparently, the brownrider could barely keep a straight face. His weyrmate was wearing so much clothing that he'd be hard-pressed to find a R'wign under all of that. M'ta stepped toward Teri's crib, lifting the sleeping baby carefully and cooing to her as she snuggled into his arms in her sleep. So much more adorable like this then trying to get into everything. He did not look forward to the day when she started toddling around. "Our hero. Sacrificing himself to the mandyr-possessed to protect us. Hear that, Teri? You should give him a big sloppy smooch when he gets back."
M'ta glanced up. His boots. Right. The younger man wiggled his toes, keeping his silence for a long moment and probably thoroughly incriminating himself in the process. "Before you say anything, mine are at the bottom of the river somewhere." He and Ruth had gotten into something of a...well it wasn't a fight exactly, but the boots were definitely gone. "And I could probably sail on the river in yours. I know you're tall, but really? I think I had to use five pairs of socks, and my feet are still sliding around in them something awful. You weren't supposed to wake up this early," he added, a touch defiantly.

Charming tore away from the river when he noticed Ellie going upwards. At her aerial acrobatics the brown let out a sound that sounded much like a cat call in appreciation. Too close to a whistle not to be a mimic. It amused him to hear it and though it occasionally had negative effects the brown decided to try it out in Flight. He was able to keep up with Ellie as she flew with little effort on his part. Again, that wouldn't be the area he'd have to strain himself in. The brown caught sight of the legless bronze rather close to his clutchmother but...a moment later she took care of making some distance between her and Carenath.
That also meant there was more distance between himself and the gold and that just wouldn't do, would it? Charming took a different path than Ellie. It required a little more work on his part. His aim was much the same; upwards. He rose, slipping in and out of air currents playfully for a bit, careful not to let the distance between him and Ellie grow too much. He was most definitely showing off even if the gold didn't look down at her chasers at all. Charming was not a flitter who lacked confidence, but showing off his moves to the other males, if not Ellie, wouldn't hurt that. The other males were not his goal though.
The brown blinked in appreciation of just how high the Flight had brought him. He'd been up that high before, of course, on His' shoulder while she rode the big green one. He had never been up there on his own before though. The cold was considerably more biting up there and the brown began to wonder just how high his dear Ellie wanted to bring them. He was a hot little guy, but not in the sense that was necessary for fighting the cold. He didn't really want to risk the cold taking him out of the Flight but at the same time he couldn't bear the idea of not lasting the entire Flight just because he wimped out. So onward and upward he went.

Amour did a neat little flip head over tail before setting his wings after Elegance. One of the smallest flitters in the flight he had the advantage of speed on his side but not much else. He was also young. This being his first flight he had yet to gain the experience most of the other males had collected. Still the young brown was determined to have his fun and his gold. Looping upwards as she did Amour wasted no time winging upwards after the object of his affections. Well versed in flight as he was he used the wings to his advantage saving his energy where he could.
There where both negative and positive points to being close to the smallest chaser. Wings beating rapidly he passed up one of the bigger bronzes and looped around him in playful amusement twittering before leveling out. The brown ended up below and three flitter lengths behind Elegance as he strove towards the cold grey sky above, whirling violet eyes fixed on her glittering body. All the while the young brown kept up a sing song trill punctuating it with hums and whistles. His ballad to Elegance it was. Pitch changing with her wing beats the young male set himself to her pattern, already feeling the strain from trying to match speed with her. Still Amour was nothing if not stubborn. Just ask his. When he wanted something he strove for it until he obtained it. This flight was no different.
Baron on the other hand was larger than Amour. He had not only the advantage of strength but also the experience from his flight previous. Not much energy was expended on pretty tricks to impress. Instead the large brown powered after her, a near silent presence. She was speedy for a gold that was sure. Still the larger of Elysia’s two firelizards found her speed a worthy challenge and he put effort into keeping up. The heights they where all achieving worried him a bit but he didn’t let that stop him from pursuing.
Instead he strove to use the winds to his advantage using them to change direction or speed when he could. Eventually the brown ended up to her right and maybe a length behind. Amour was totally forgotten by this point. Only Elegance remained. Baron gave one soft croon to the glimmering gold the sound meant to both flatter and encourage. How lovely she was. Quite worthy indeed of the loyalty her chasers where showing. In the back of his mind the brown knew she yet had tests for them. As the cold wind buffeted at his side Baron shifted to capture it in his wings allowing it to help propel him along.

That was whistling and if Mojo had any choice in the matter he probably wouldn't have stopped. So good at different noises he was, and for Ellie he would be more than willing to give her a sample of all of them. His best he thought was his take on human laughter, it was just such a shame that he couldn't find quite the opportunity to use it in a flight. Maybe if one of the browns collided into the cliff wall or if the legless one accidentally tied itself in a knot mid loop de loop. Then perhaps the chuckles could come out. Until then he was content with some more subtle musical effects. The mysterious bronze instantly replied to the gold's brief croon with one of his own, though it spiraled into a song on its own right. Serenading the gold was part of Mojo working his magic.
Although he thought himself a pretty big deal, and for his size he was rather agile - thank you big strong wings - even his rather feline movement didn't grant him the most speed in the world so he'd have to just deal. The wind burst helped, and in rising up after the queen he took full advantage of what nature granted him. The rest he would just go and get himself. With his tail swinging him up and around and off to the side of the other firelizards he tried to inch his way closer and closer. Not too quickly now, he only wanted to be close so that the gold could hear him sing to her, and to drown out those other lizards. Ugh, a mimic he may be, but a cocky one sometimes and he thought himself every bit better. The wind had the chance of taking his voice right away from him, and that simply would not due. Instead he wanted those songs to float over to her on the breeze, and now would be the time to take his position to enact the plan. Mojo would not go ignored!
After all, the cloud cover threatened to hide them all, and as they ascended and the mists drifted in and closed up around them at very least the bronze was confident that he was doing everything every bit right...or at least he better have. It was a tad bit cold up here, even for him, but the best way to beat a chill was to do a little exercise, which he did. It wasn't that he learned nothing from when Carenath got too close, in fact Mojo learned a lot from it, he knew a lot. Namely that Elegance was quite the forgiving creature, and in her infinite wisdom surely she would allow the bronze to come a little close? It was just that he so desperately wanted to push boundaries! It was as if he was yelling, "Test me Ellie! Prove me wrong!" when he sped in front of the others and tried to get a passing lick at her tail. It would be stupid to waste all of his resources on trying to get too close, but something simple as that was worth it for the reaction.

The clouds drew closer and Ellie swept up into them with a musical flute to match the ‘song’ of one of her chasers (she hadn’t turned back to see which one it was). The colder air felt tight against her wings and she ascended higher, spiraling into a twist to show off the glitter of her golden hide. See her shine. See how magnificent she was. She acknowledged each and every answer with a flute and croon of her own, evening out amidst the clouds to enjoy the biting cold that would no doubt test the endurance of each of them. Her own wings burned, not from exhaustion, but from the icy blast of cold air. Her own strength was being tried, to keep herself aloft amidst the lower temperatures, and she was making a point to show off as well. Could Rose fly so high, so well? No. And neither of the salamandyr menaces could, because they hadn’t the wings to fly at all. Each twist and turn as she flew forward was deliberate. She was the most magnificent queen of all – and she wanted to make sure that even after she made her choice, they all remembered that very clear fact.
Music, so much music. Her chittering came to a halt as she listened to not one, but two different songs – decidedly opposite by design. Daring to look over her shoulder, Ellie regarded her Chasers to locate the sources of the sound and found herself amused to find one of the browns she didn’t recognize and none other than Mojo. How cute. She couldn’t watch them in flight but at least they were keeping her entertained. Very good, very good. She was also impressed that the little legless one had followed her into the sky... but that was as far as he’d go. Ellie did not normally dismiss chasers – and she refused to do so rudely – but Carenath got a warning chirp from her, a light suggestion that was the firelizard equivalent of Are you sure you’re okay up this high? She liked him well enough, of course, and were this not a mating flight she might well have been very sweet to him...
... but he could not sire the clutch that she sought. He was not formed right, and her babies had to be perfect. If he stayed in the flight, it was his right, but she would not allow herself to be caught by him. She hoped that the bronze understood the meaning behind her polite ‘comment.’ It was his choice either way and Ellie would not begrudge him whatever decision he made.
She also wasn’t anywhere near done. The high altitude was making her wings burn and once she was sure each of the males had joined her in the clouds, she made a decision to deal with it. Staying up high was burning her energy too fast. Something had to be done – and Ellie knew just what. She snapped her wings in all at once and proceeded to free-fall like a golden torpedo toward the earth, plummeting out of the clouds so quickly that if they weren’t watching her exactly, they’d miss the drop. And that would be their loss, for Ellie was definitely not waiting up for anyone. She knew her flight was coming to an end – she knew her stamina better than last time (that was just embarrassing) – and she was going to make sure that the one who caught her was one of her choosing. And she was not about to pick someone who got lost in clouds!
“I do not,” R’wign protested, giving M’ta a baleful look that bordered on murderous. He didn’t even find that comment funny, actually. He found it annoying. Of course, his mood was completely soured, too. Part of him wanted nothing more than to show M’ta just how far from ‘roly poly’ he was by hauling him into their furs and memorizing every line of his body while the other part wanted to dismiss him and find someone who could properly worship him, thanks. Entirely Ellie-wrought, the responses; she always did effect him oddly. “And I’d rather you give me a big sloppy -- ... you’re...” He trailed off to look down at M’ta’s feet before actually flailing in protest. “You’re wearing my boots? Why are you wearing my boots? What? I don’t care if I was asleep, they’re my boots, do I wear your shoes?” At that, he did flail. “They’re big on you because I’m bigger than you, wherrybrain. Get those off right this instant!”

Storm plunged into the lower layer of clouds with nary a look back. He must stay with Ellie, no matter what! She was lovely, she deserved everything, and furthermore, he trusted her. He trusted her and her judgment, with his very life. If they were going to fly in storm clouds in the most chilliest of days the area had ever known, he would do it for her! No matter the sting. Thankfully, after doing that much speed-flying, Storm was good and heated up. Heated up enough that while droplets of water coalesced on his skin and wings, hit mere baubled up and rolled off in a rain of glittering bronze, rather than icing up and ruining his flight. Storm twirdled happily, cutting a wing-over-wing spiral for a moment, ripping a huge hole in the cloud segment he was flying through, quite happy and joyful just for the moment. Here, in the cloud, sound carried very well. And now he would sing to her. When he was sure it was not breath wasted, that she could hear him. He could hear her, too, as well as all the other noiseboxes that were trying to follow her.
So enamored was he with her, that it would have been utterly impossible for him to miss anything she did ... so he noticed when she gave a polite dismissal to the worm-flizard, and then took on the most crazy wherry-brained dive a flitter ever did take. Storm didn't even think about it, much less bat an eye at it before twisting and plummeting after her. Wings held in tight to his sides, his overlarge tail came into play again, guiding and steering him true. With just his tail he could even execute some spins and spirals before evening out again and shooting straight as an arrow.
He trusted her before, when they were going up, why not when going down?
It only took him a moment to realized he was falling behind, though. As big as a bronze may be, he was not as big or heavy as a gold. Even a small gold. She was falling faster!! Now, that would just not do. He had to at least keep up!!! Cinching his wings in closer for less resistance and pointing his snout on a fully stretched neck, he stopped all of his tricks and tried to will more speed into existence. He had to keep up!!!!
He wanted to call to her again, the desire bursting in his chest even as his little heart pounded away from the exertion of the flight. Oddly enough, his wings weren't sore in the least. Probably because of how much diving was being done as well as flying. This flight was an awful lot of up and down, rather than cross country chase. But that was okay! It would mean he would be better able to carry her! If he could only keep up and show her that he was worthy! That he was everything she was looking for! He was sure he was, he just had to show it to her!
He kept his mouth shut, though ... more because opening his maw would slow him down, than because she'd never hear him anyway plummeting the way they were. Stiffening his tail perfectly straight and not allowing any wobble at all, Storm did all he could to squeeze all the fall-speed he could out of his body. He couldn't fall behind! He couldn't!!!

Regarding R'wign with a somewhat incredulous look, he half-turned from the other man, nuzzling Teri's sleeping face and returning her to her crib. "Well, no. Of course not. Your feet wouldn't fit in my boots, and they're at the bottom of the river anyway," he stated reasonably. It was tempting to comment further - something about losing toes to morning frost if that better suited His Highness - but yes, M'ta did have a brain-to-mouth filter on occasion, even if it wasn't often used. Was R'wign always this bad when Ellie Rose? Last time he'd been upset, too, but that was for other reasons. That or M'ta didn't notice with R'wign latched to his waist and asking if he should use his teeth or his hands to undress him...hmmmm.
Smiling slightly at the memory of that rather rocky confession, M'ta's brow rose slightly - yes, teasingly - as he bent to unlace the too big boots. "Wherrybrain. How cruel of you." Plunking down onto the floor, then, he tugged at one, then the other of the 'boats.' Revealing the several layers of socks needed just to sort of make the boots functional for him. "Going to accompany me to the Headwoman after the flight to see if she's got any standard issue in my size, or would you rather have a toeless weyrmate?" Wiggling his socked toes, he tossed the boots in front of R'wign and wrapped his arms around his knees, an amused smile tugging at his lips.

It was getting to the point where Mojo really needed to stand out. Enough with copying other lizards acts, what would really amaze and awe? He wouldn't live with just something boring. Just outlasting everyone else wasn't good enough for the bronze magician (tricks he maintained, were something he didn't do since tricks were for charlatans and Bitran prostitutes, where as he created illusions). Hmmmm. He cut off his song so that his musings could be made audible; a long hum to punctuate the fact that he was thinking along with a short of cocked head. Not that Ellie would see this, but the motion was more habit than anything.
He swirled around in the clouds for a moment, drawing only the narrowest of trails in his wake. He was not one to leave many footprints, although it was nice to feel the fluffy stuff so cool against his hide. The tiny little droplets gleamed so beautifully on him, magnifying the finer parts of his design and showing the strange tabby like marks that marbled themselves along his body. Knowing quite well how glorious he looked, the bronze was not afraid to show off. Even to the other males, for they should rightly be jealous, flittering his wings so that everyone could catch a bit of the gleam. In the process he nearly missed the descent of the gold. Nearly.
He dropped. No, not gracelessly. Never without flair he was, but he did sink in the air and fell through a few more clouds along the way. Tiny little floofs of white marked his bullet like entries and exits. Mojo swirled and flipped a few times, having a little bit of energy to waste even yet, but what he wanted more than anything was to show case how effortless this could be for him. He'd have plenty of energy to carry the queen even yet, and so he turned onto his side and let his body go lack. He whistled and chirruped loudly one last time before he threw back his head and closed his eyes to make himself look like a sleepy sun lounger. Occasionally he would flicker his eyelids open coyly to keep tabs on his audience, but mostly he was relying on intuition alone to keep him from ramming into the other firelizards, because frankly he had abandoned running off to the sidelines. Yes, there was a little bit of daredevil antics involved in the whole exercise. Mojo was just banking on the fact that Ellie would take some kind of notice.

Amour grew more excited as Elegance joined in on his song. Lovely gold. That was right, it was all for her. His determination, the song, all of it. Setting his wings after her form the small brown was truly giving it his all but still minute by minute it was obvious he was losing a little ground. Pushing himself faster despite the burning in his wings Amour entered the cloud after her, keeping close as he could to make sure he didn’t lose the gold. The cold was a welcome balm to his burning muscles but the little fire lizard wasn’t stupid. Too long in the cold and he would cramp. Which wouldn’t be good at all.
Humming and trilling his song as Elegance showed off he happily punctuated each of her moves with a small melody. Oh so lovely she was. Worthy of all his attention. Thankfully just as Amour was truly starting to get a bit of tightness in his muscles the gold folded her wings and dropped. Without hesitation the small brown to folded his wings and using his tail as a rudder began his free fall after her. Unlike some of the chasers the brown concentrated more on directing his fall than speeding it up.
Baron angled upwards into the clouds after Elegance. Giving one soft trill he punched his way through the wispy cold and did a slow barrel roll twisting the fluffy moisture around in swirls. The moisture on his hide however was quickly starting to freeze and so he gave his wings a few hard flaps to disperse the water and negate the hazard it created. Clever gold. Testing them well she was. A bit concerned the larger brown spared a glance at Amour. Young and untried as his brother was he /was/ impressed at his brothers determination but worried about the lengths to which he might go.
Content that his brother was fine for the moment he returned his attention to Elegance. Baron wasted no time on looking at the other chasers. Not worth his time at all where they. When the gold folded her wings and shot out of the clouds, the large brown was quick to follow. Making himself as streamlined as possible he fell like a stone after her using quick flicks on wings and tail to stay on course behind her. He could fall better than the smaller chasers that was for sure. It was her bronze chasers that where the real threat to his chances.

While it was true Charming was smaller than a bronze and had the speed edge over them, he wasn't a small brown either. A good deal of his speed came from the fact that he was very streamlined. He had quite a lean build and long wings. He was beginning to really suffer for his earlier antics but he slipped into the clouds regardless. He was smart enough to watch the movements of the others in front of him whenever he lost sight of Ellie and kept close enough despite the sting of the cold on tired muscles. His clutchmother really was something to bring them all up so high.
If his own keen eyes weren't enough, Ellie gave herself away with a sound directed towards Carenath. So polite, was their Ellie. She wouldn't actually ask anyone to leave but that was a fairly obvious dismissal all the same. The brown didn't even register it as meaning there was one less chaser to be concerned about. He'd never actually been all that worried about any of them. There was no point in comparing himself with any of them. He had yet to properly show his stuff but he'd been given few chances to actually do so. He'd have to try and steal Ellie's attention in the end.
Oh! Speaking of the end...was it coming soon? The gold suddenly dived out of the clouds and Charming followed suit a moment later. He bet that it would be his last time to do anything to catch Ellie's attention so he beat his wings a bit to increase his speed until he was close enough for her to hear before he trilled in adoration. There. His goal since the beginning has been to make sure she knew that and once she did the rest was uop to her. He opened his wings a little more than just for control to slow the rapid descent a little bit and give her room to show herself off. They were here for her, after all.

Elegance's concern was duly noted. Carenath, however, did not react the way she might have hoped. He did not take her brush as the gentle, suggested dismissal she'd intended. Oh no. He knew that particular kind of pity/skepticism when he felt it, and in this context he knew it was rejection. As he'd done nothing to earn her dislike, but rather kept up with obviously stronger flyers and even outdone them at times, he also knew why she was suggesting that he leave. Little he might be, but who was to say that that made him somehow less than the others? Or was it his lack of legs that disturbed her? He could have lost them in a fight or some other tragedy, rather than being born without. How dare she judge on looks alone, not on merit and ability? She may seem nice on the outside, Carenath realized, but apparently inside that pretty golden head was pure rot. He would not sully his wings carrying her, but she would know it was him leaving her, not the other way around.
Entering the clouds with a flash of wings and a hiss that cut through the trilling and posturing of the other lizards, Carenath stuck close to Ellie, no longer heeding her request for more space. Had she simply sent him away at the beginning rather than try to be so polite about it, the Bronze might not have been so angry, but she had led him on with no intent to allow him to catch. That was worse than simple rejection - she'd never given him a chance, brought him all the way up here for no reason. All of his flips and loops were for naught, wasted breath. Time to make it clear that just because she was gold and thought highly of herself, she could not be awful to others, even those not... classically attractive. He shoved a decidedly rebellious feeling back at her, matching it with a snap in her direction. Of course he was ok. Carenath had plenty going for him, and she couldn't even see it past his lack of appendages. Marking her every move less than a length behind, he was ready for the drop when it came.
Unfortunately for the smallest Bronze, his size did not favor him when it came to drops. Tucking his wings and straightening his tail helped, but the wind still pushed him off-course, the air his eternal enemy. Still, he had positioned himself directly behind her, following her trajectory tightly even if he was losing ground. As soon as she turned back up, though, he'd be on her. He had yet to decide if he should force a catch just to prove himself, or make it clear that he could force a catch before disappearing into the cold morning sun - Either would suffice. All she needed to do was pull out of the dive.

That was a mistake. Whether the little bronze firelizard realized it or not – it was a mistake to fly so close to her, and Ellie intended to make that very clear. Red touched her eyes – red that almost never reached those over-so-pleasant orbs – and she crooned. It was not the sweet, innocent croon typical to Ellie. She wasn’t a violent firelizard and never would be, but she was attached to R’wign and he had a decidedly nasty streak. If the bronze couldn’t handle a gentle dismissal, couldn’t take the hint that she wanted him gone... she’d show him what a real one felt like. The scarlet in her eyes flashed more prominently and rather than turn back into an upward twist, Ellie tumbled... right into the dense vegetation of the jumble far below. Through the branches and the leaves she whirled like a golden fireball, her other chasers forgotten as she twisted into the vegetation and used it as a weapon. The last male to so challenge her had been lost at the top of the river. Ellie would not tolerate insults from anyone, least of all a little bronze who wasn’t quite formed right. Were it any other time, she’d doubtlessly have forgiven him. But this was her time to shine... and his time to get tangled in the leaves where he belonged.
She knew these trees well and she used it to her best advantage, coming out of the drop mere inches from the ground – inches that had her legs brushing the dead and decomposing leaves around her into a right tizzy. They flared up into the air and Ellie disappeared amongst them, ascending back into the tangled network of barren branches, worn thin from the winter. Normally she did not take her chasers through such dangerous terrain, but the fury in her movement was undeniable. Icicle. Branch. Tree trunk. Fallen vine. She darted amongst it all. He was thinner than the average firelizard, but so was she, and Ellie was older; she knew her way well. Her goal was simple: to lose them all in the branches, to unbalance and punish for the insult. He’d be made to pay for trying her temper. It was hard on her stamina to bolt through the branches as she did, but Ellie did not care. She had a point to make. She was the only real queen at Selenitas, and she’d never tolerate such insults.
And that was why she didn’t continue going straight. No, a streamlined path would give them a chance at too much speed. She was playing obstacle course in the same fashion that greens did, but rather than stick to one path, she darted through the branches, turned upside down and then flew over the heads of the chasers that made it – deliberately leaving them to risk crashing into one another to come after her tail. All but one.
She’d originally been considering others. Really, she had. But she was angry – and that anger turned her against most of them. If one would insult her, then surely all would. All but him because he was hers. He’d been hers at her last hatching, hadn’t he? Chased off the salamandyr green who came and everything. As she was flying back, Ellie made her choice in quite an unusual backwards catching, tangling herself with Charming to turn him around and fly the other way. Let the little wormy bronze consider it a lesson: She would pick her browns over such arrogance any day. In Ellie’s life there was room for only one huge ego – and it belonged to her.
“If I must,” R’wign replied, one hand coming up to rub his temple. Ellie’s irritation flashed over his face, for only a moment before he managed to swallow it; he was being careful not to let her influence him too terribly much. At least not negatively. The effects of the flight were kind of hard to ignore – especially since a giddy part of him remembered that her last flight ended in him and M’ta getting together officially in the first place. His gaze flashed over the other brownrider on the floor before he moved to climb into his weyrmate’s lap shapelessly. “I can think of better ways to spend our time though... things you can do to redeem yourself for stealing my shoes.” He didn’t wait for a response; he leaned forward and crushed his lips to M’ta’s in a way too enthusiastic kiss. Better things to do indeed~

Charming watched on as the bronze legless firelizard ignored Ellie's polite dismissal and proceeded to try and dominate her. The brown was both concerned and unconcerned at the same time. Had it been any other female he might have worried about a force catch more. That said, even he wasn't expecting Ellie's response to the bronze's stupidity. The brown watched in surprise as Ellie let herself fall into the trees though he didn't spare a thought to not following her. She then proceeded to prove to all of them that she wasn't a queen who let herlsef be treated so rudely by a mere chaser.
Charming put his attention on avoiding the obstacles, using what experience he had to make sure he didn't get taken out of the chase by anything but Ellie herself. Her anger may have expanded to include all her males but she had not dismissed him so he would not leave before she made her choice. His wings burned with the physical desire to rest but he refused to do so. He'd joined for Ellie, not for himself, after all. He was suddenly surprised by the gold doubling back and plucking him out of the remaining chasers so that he was able to continue chasing her.
One thing registered. She'd chosen him. He crooned at her adoringly, his wings seeming a little less heavy. He was hers and today she would let him call her his. He couldn't be anything less than ecstatic, to the point that His began to wake up. Mother licked her face and the greenrider smiled. Well, if the little rascal hadn't done it again. His emotions affected her own and she decided it was a fairly good start to a day. Who didn't like waking up feeling happy?
