Jiggles bounded after Vex. The blockade of feet was behind them now and so he quickened his pace to keep her in sight. He wouldn’t be as fast as her sadly, due to his size and build, but he was doing a valiant job of trying to keep up. As the green suddenly darted into a weyr the dark brown put on the brakes and skidded, his claws making scrambling noises on the stone in the hallway, before he succeeded in turning his mass and entering the living space.
Upon entering the masked brown blinked and paused for a moment to get his bearings. Where was she? Ah there upon the table was his love. Crooning Jiggles put immense effort into a leap that had him snagging the edge of the tablecloth. Is Vex's rules. Will stay close. He promised before heaving himself up and over onto the table top. Flaring his wings once he caught the movement from Empress but he was quickly distracted by movement from his pretty. There she was! That shiny green color could belong to no other.
Trilling happily he flung himself from the table large wings catching the air, and sending him effortlessly gliding to the couch. Landing with a thump, Jiggles dug his claws into the fabric and bounced after Vex. No want goldie. Vex muchly better. Best. He promised before flaring his wings at mention of the feline. Empress no catch Jiggles. He said confidently as he free fell off the couch after her. No midair acrobatics for him. His mass carried him down far faster after all. Instead he flared large wings to absorb the impact and landed surprisingly softly before skittering after her retreating form. He was coming~ maybe not as fast as the smaller chasers but he wasn’t going to give in.
Cr’oph bounded after R’wign his long legs making it very easy to keep up with the healer. The smile only spurned him on more and he could have sang. “Yes pretty one run.” Then the pretty leapt into action literally. A happy smile spread across the man’s face. “Yes,” he called back to the green. “Missing pretties dumbest. Meatfools they are.” Oh play. The bait would be taken of course. No way he was going to lose his pretty. Leaps where nothing to him. He had the wings for them remember. Sadly for the bronzeweyrling he did not actually own wings. However he did well at leaping. Good thing.
Backing up to get some distance the red head bolted after the healer and leapt seemingly effortlessly to the other ledge as well. Although his landing was slightly wrong and he stumbled a bit before regaining his balance. Thankfully he didn’t go sprawling that would have been embarrassing. Cr’oph/Jiggles raised his head and continued the chase into the weyr after R’wign. Of course he was brave. Where are you pretty?

Hobbs landed on a head that was going in the right direction and used it to spring further down the hall. What fun this was! Just like hopping branches! Vex was tricky to follow though. He had to concentrate on her light strip to see which way she went. There she was! He banked hard around the corner and into R'wign's weyr. He trilled at her words. Such a clever one! Oh, this would be such fun. What was an Empress? He dove for the couch and landed on the end. It wasn't far to just fly around. He wanted to show Vex he could follow her anywhere.
Of course, fire lizards aren't made for running. What he managed was more of a series of flapping hops across the back of the couch. That was when he noticed the feline. So that was Empress. His mistress had one of the fluffy beasts too. Mikka liked to climb and catch darters. Sometimes she went after him too. Hobbs decided not to test if Empress would decide he was tasty. He whistled his approval of Vex's somersault and leaped off the couch after her. He turned his body into a tight roll and leveled out just above the floor. See? He almost be as graceful as she.

Charming's dress fluttered around him as he flew, still in a more playful than lustful mood. He found it rather difficult to keep his eyes on the green as she darted around feet. He lost sight of her entirely for a moment and he cheeped in slight alarm. As he slipped through a pair of legs and into the weyr she entered he noticed two things right away. The first was, of course, the green he was chasing. The second was the feline. He promptly ignored the latter one. Not important to him. She certainly wouldn't care for his attire.
The brown trilled pleasantly at the mention of this being the green's place. So nice of her to invite him in. Naturally, she should make the rules of her home space. He followed Vex, eyes careful trained on her form. She was hard to spot on that sitting place! When she jumped from the couch, he used it as a springboard to launch himself...downwards. He flared his wings and beat them once. He briefly touched the ground before launching into the air again. He wasn't sure what an Empress could do to a flyer like him, but suffice it to say he wasn't particularily concerned.
Iskierka had just finished pulling on a pair of underwear and actually had her bra in hand when she heard a voice from her weyrledge. Just what she wanted after a rather nice bath; intruders in her weyr. She snatched up one of her blades (they were never very far from her) and waited to see who it was invading her space. She moved towards the ledge and what she heard sounded an awful lot like a lust-lost rider. Ioth, you should have told me a green was flying, she told her dragon sharply.
There are no greens flying. Iskierka frowned as much because of what her dragon said and the person that entered her weyr. A second one followed soon after and she smothered a growl. They did not belong! Her eyes flicked back and forth between the two men. She wasn't entirely sure what to do. There was no point attacking them - that would just get her in trouble, and she didn't need anymore of that - but all the same she wanted them out of her weyr. She brought her knife arm upwards, using her arm to try and block her chest from view. They acted lust-lost but there were no rising females and she didn't enjoy being ogled randomly. The hand holding her bra loosely was also raised slighly, almost as if she forgot what it was she was holding in that hand. Who knew Iskierka had yellow anywhere in her wardrobe?

Sneak did not much like the Empress. She made him nervous, and while she'd never done anything to him to generate that feeling, he usually kept well out of her way. This meant leaving the bed and His when she decided they needed an Empress to make it a threesome at night. Nevertheless, Vex was more than worth risking the feline suddenly deciding she wouldn't tolerate him any longer. The sausage-shaped brown flew low to the ground, around the couch, and trilled appreciatively (the first sound he'd uttered to Vex ever, which would have mortified him had he paused to think about it, since the Others were off-limits) at the acrobatic somersault of the glittering beauty.
PMS followed Vex more directly, though he could hardly keep focused enough to keep exactly behind her, using the same exact path. In this instance, the cushions were just so bouncy. He couldn't help but spring along, cooing happily as each landing resulted in a tiny bounce. Spriiiing. Bounce. Spriiing. Bounce. What fun! Such a delightful cuddlemate Vex was, choosing this route. He wanted to keep her. Could he? (The bounces had caused him to fall behind just a little, but that wasn't really so bad, because now he had a race. Overtake the fatty!) One last big spring, and he bounced clear off the couch with a delighted squeal, hitting the ground running and with his frill flared to slow the fall just a tad.
Anyone watching would surely have thought that all these people were high on something, and the shortest of them was unlikely to dissuade anyone of that. He'd taken to...skipping along the wildly swaying bridge. Arms held out because of course he was flying. And bouncing. The air was bouncy. Furthermore, if the ground wasn't nice and decided not to turn up under his feet, he was flying, so it didn't matter. He waved happily to the smiling green lovely at the end of the bridge, enjoying his bouncing too much to stop completely, though the skip turned into a really queer bounding run, as he didn't care to be left behind, either.
Only when the two figures disappeared into the weyr below and he was still on the higher ledge did it occur to him that he'd probably let the distance stretch too far. This was, of course, not a good thing. Being a flyer and a very good jumper, he didn't hesitate in making the rather insignificant leap, rolling forward and literally changing direction mid-roll, palming the ground and twisting his body to come up running and headed directly into the weyr. The timing was bad, though. He'd expected them to be much further ahead. Squeaking, he veered around his beauty and the fat one, only to run headlong into the ... nothing. There was a nothing that hit like a wall! "Oww," he muttered, noting red and a little pain, but it wasn't important. Nothing may feel hard, but it was still nothing. He glanced up to find the Vex again.

Flirt zipped along, currently so intent on Vex that he didn’t put any of his usual attention grabbing moves into his flight, instead opting purely for speed and focus on the shimmering green blur before him. The green darted into a weyr, so Flirt followed faithfully, not caring who it might belong to. Such trivialities as ownership not really being a great concern of his.
The blue firelizard looped once over the coffee table, trilling a cheerfully confident response to Vex’s challenge. Of course he would keep up, he didn’t want to lose Vex. Slight movement caught the firelizard’s attention for a moment. Feline! Flirt gave the currently relaxed beast a wary look. He knew felines, Hisspit couldn’t catch him, so this one wouldn’t be able to either. No one could dodge a feline like Flirt. Anyway, this one was female, females were nicer, she wouldn’t eat him. Pleased by this conclusion Flirt trilled again and returned his full attention to the rapidly moving Vex. Had to keep up.
That brighter stripe down her back was very useful, without it the salamandyr would have been nearly invisible, sneaky little green. Flirt twisted his body into the kind of intricate flight pattern only a small firelizard could accomplish, as if he suddenly realized he wasn’t making too much of an effort to impress and had suddenly decided to make up for it. As he twisted around the blue gave a derisive sort of semi hissing sound. Who would want a gold indeed? Golds were boring, Vex wasn’t.

Jump, jump, glide. Jump, leap, hop, glide. When the humans started to thin out, Dash was able to go a little faster since he had more room to move. Runrun, have to run. As they scuttled through the hallway, the Brown leapt onto a wall so as not to get stepped on. It was much easier to scuttle along a wall because humans couldn't walk on them like Salamandyrs could. Ohoh, this was Vex's weyr? As he scurried after Vex, he smelled the air. He smelled a furry meower. He didn't like felines, not after one of His's companion's pets tried to eat him. Baaaad memories. Darting forward he jumped onto the coffee table and felt one of his claws snag, causing him to stumbled a few steps before correcting his course. Oh dear! She was getting away again! Regaining his momentum, Dash tossed himself at the couch and climbed the cushions so he could get at the back of the couch. He did his best to split his attention between Vex and Empress. The Salamandyr didn't want to get eaten!
Vex was so dark Dash almost lost track of her twice, each time he put on a little burst of speed in hopes that it was only distance that it was making it hard for him to see. When the prettyone spoke to them again, the Brown chirped happily. Wasn't she wonderful? Looking out for them like that? Vex is best. Smart and lovely. Stay close will, will not get eaten. Not let the beautiful Vex down, no. Spreading his wings, Dash tossed himself off the back of the couch and loped after the Green, every now and again crooning or cooing. Although he still kept an eye out for the Empress. Bad kitties and trying to eat them.
Wobbling along the bouncy Bridge, Kaegan did all she could to keep her balance and not fall off. She didn't know how the other chasers could have crossed so easily! Maybe her legs weren't as long, or she wasn't as fast? In the end, the reason didn't matter as long as she could cross to the otherside without falling to her doom. Crossing onto solid ground, the Brown swayed slightly. She was dizzy from the violent tossing. Kaegan shook her head slightly before taking off in the direction she saw the others had gone. It wasn't long before she reached the edge upon which the last chaser had jumped off of, putting on the brakes her arms windmilled to keep her from falling. Peeking over the edge she watched the smaller male run into the weyr below. "Jump bad..." This was so frustrating!
Backing up as far as she could, the Brown ran toward the edge and leaped off. Her leap was graceful, but her landing was anything but. Hitting the rock she stumbled and pitched forward, sliding a foot or two before coming to a stop. "Nnnn!" Sitting up, Kaegan looked down at her arm. Her sleeves had been rolled up which had left her arms bare, making it easy to see the scrapes and scratches the fall had given her. Her cheek stung also, making the Brown whine slightly a she got to her feet. Well, the landing could have been worse. She could have broken something, and it was a miracle that she hadn't sprained her ankle. Brushing some gravel off of her arm, Kaegan looked around. Thats right, where did the pretty Green go? She ran into the Weyr after the others, her arm and cheek momentarily forgotten in favor of catching up. It would be unacceptable to loose Vex so soon after catching up! "Prettiest~" As she ran, the Brown became aware of a pain in one of her ankles. It wasn't too uncomfortable, but somewhere she knew it was going to hurt worse later. She probably buised it badly...

On the bed, Empress slowly reclined and flicked her tail in blatant irritation. Her eyes fixed on the arrival of many winged/legged things that didn’t belong and her ears slowly laid back before she rose to her feet and padded across the mountain of blankets that her humanslave always had to be wrapped up in to sleep (a fact she found irritating as it made it difficult to be touching him, thanks to the brown usurper). She rose to her feet, though she kept herself crouched low, her tail going still and flat against the bed. The first arrival was totally ignored – the Vex was Hers and therefore not an option to be snacked on. But the rest… aside from that obnoxious blue and brown flying thing that belonged to the usurper… were fair game. They had no place in her rooms and her beloved wasn’t there to stop her, and… they all looked very, very tasty. Especially the flying ones. They were a challenge because they disappeared. Empress watched, intent. Good Vex. Good salamandyr brought her lots of things to play with.
The green salamandyr darted across the floor speedily, her eyes showing her amusement as she leapt first onto the trunk that PMS’s had created, and then back to bolt toward the dragon side of the weyr. Alas! It was actually occupied by the brown that wasn’t the Checkoth brown but was still acceptable. Her frill flared, and she almost stopped at the sound of a trill. Hmm. That was new. She’d never even heard the sausage make a noise, and she voiced that thought curiously, Sausage talks! Talking sausage! Good good. Staring make sense now. Good sausage~ The others were talking (she distinctly heard her brown chasers chatting her up – good boys; yes, yes, compliments were very good, so smart they were) but her surprise at Sneak was enough to almost dominate her thoughts. He’d never made a peep in the chase prior to that. Was he trying to be like her? Silly; flyers couldn’t talk. But the sausage had his uses.
Whirling quickly, Vex bolted across the floor and did a flying leap onto Behruth’s tail – not quite caring that the dragon might not want to be a salamandyr perch. Without so much as glancing back at her chasers, she bolted up the length of his tail (careful to tuck her claws in so that she didn’t scratch in the least). To a creature as small as a salamandyr, a dragon was quite the impressive obstacle to behold, and Vex was being careful to show off by leaping from one side of the brown’s tail to the other. Perfect perch. He was good, yes he was, he was a very good perch and she liked him. Not Checkoth-mine, Ruthsilly, good perch. Handsome perch. Best perch. Shame not mine. Shame shame. Share with Ruth the Checkoth-mine, Vex will. Move tail, please? Because she couldn’t make it easy on them. That would be unsatisfactory. They’d have to find their own way to get a dragon mount.
The moving creatures on the floor stole Empress’s attention, and she launched forward all at once. The flying ones had her focus, and she flung herself forward straight at Hobbs, claws sheathed (the first sign that her predatory attempt was not real), with the intent of tackling the blue straight out of the air. Om nom nom nom, firelizard.
The human half of the running pair was a lot less graceful, but his path mimicked Vex’s surprisingly well. Through the weyr he invaded – not even noticing the woman and her undressed state. R’wign literally skipped through the weyr as if he owned the place and went out the next entrance, though not before rubbing his back on the doorframe in a decidedly feline posture. His chasers were all but ignored, save for a quiet purr spared for M’ta/Sneak – mimicking Vex’s commentary – and then he was off again. But he didn’t have a dragon he could start climbing over. What he did have was a hallway that he bolted down at a full speed run, and it was fortunate that the drudges either realized what was going on or were simply smart enough to know to get out of his way.
“Keep up, keep up, keep up~” he called back as he came to the end of a stairway, right as Vex went up Behruth’s tail. Rather than stopping, he leapt, jumping two stairs at a time, heading directly for the top and the exit of the rider weyrs. This particular path opened up to the clifftop, though R’wign did not seem to notice that when he came out at the top of the stairs. No, instead he turned and actually kept running, all without looking back. Keep up indeed.

Jiggles scuttled across the floor after the dark green. On the floor he was at a distinct disadvantage compared to the other faster chasers. He had a lot more mass to move than they did after all. Watching as Vex leapt onto the trunk, he sprang up after her, his tiny claws digging deep into the wood so he could heave himself up and over. As she continued her running he crooned softly. Empress was ignored in favor of the uncomfortable tightening of muscles he rarely used. So much work this was. He couldn’t catch her without putting in the effort though. Leaping off the trunk the masked brown chose to glide across to the dragon part of the weyr. Landing on the floor he looked up at the brown dragon Vex was perched on. The swinging tail looked like it would make things too difficult. Needed another way
Time to get creative. Turning suddenly the larger mandyr threw himself at the wall. Clinging to the rough stone he scampered up the textured surface until he was about dragon height. With a grunt of effort he pushed off the wall and flapped his wings to get a bit of altitude. With his large wings he glided over to alight on Behruth’s head. Totally ignoring the dragon he wound up one of the brown's head knobs and flared his wings. Jiggles high is. Vex should be high. Best is she. Tired the brown was getting. He wasn’t used to so much action. Surely she would pick soon?
Cr’oph totally ignored Iskierka as if she didn’t exist. To be honest in his mandyr driven mind she didn’t exist. Only R’wign/Vex did. The green’s posing at the doorway drew an appreciate sound from the red head and he was hot of the healers heels as he started his sprint down the hallway. So intent was he on R’wign’s back that he didn’t immediately see the stairs. Forced to slow or risk face planting he gave a short hiss at the offending stone. Trying to trip him up was it? With a snort he began the stair climb. He took them two at a time like the green. See he could follow right, he could.
The climb seemed to take forever but soon enough they had emerged into the sunlight again. Blinking he caught sight of R’wign’s retreating form. “Coming is!” Cr’oph called before pelting after the retreating green. Had to make up the distance. Thankfully he was in shape and running was one of his favorite pastimes. The weyrling was having an easier time of it than Jiggles was.

Charming watched the green salamandyr leap onto the dragon curiously. It looked fun. The dragon made it hard for the non-flyers to get onto the brown. He had no trouble landing but how to make it interesting? He watched one of the brown manzyrds land on the dragon's head...and stay there. He flew over to land on one of Behruth's back ridges and proceeded to hop from one ridge to the other.
He was distracted by the fleine leaping at one of the other chasers. Hobbs! He trilled a warning to the blue, half ready to launch into the air to the assistance of his friend. None deserved to be pounced by a feline! He stood on top of one ridge, wings flared, with a pink frilly dress on, ready to fly to the resuce of another. It was a rather comical idea; the damsel saving the hero.
Iskierka had heard the running behind her though she hadn't expected the person to smack right into her. The force made her slight frame stumble backwards. In retaltiation she slashed out at the back of his forearm in warning. She was more accustomed to stabbing people but stabbing Selenitas riders probably wouldn't go over well. She also hit him with her bra, though that was mostly accidental.

Hobbs had actually forgotten Empress, but Charming's warning startled him. He flapped his wings frantically in alarm just as Empress leaped. He managed to avoid getting pounced, but the impact of her paws knocked him off balance. One wing scrapped the wall as he pushed off it with his claws. He was lucky Empress hadn't been using claws, or he'd have more then bruises to worry about. He staggered back up, high enough to be out of range. A low trill issued his thanks to his brown friend, but he was far behind now.
He felt bad for it too. He should have been watching the feline. He knew what they were like. His tail drooped. Vex would never chose him now. He perked up again. That was fine though, there was still the game! It would be rude to give up so easily. Oh! Where they riding a dragon? He knew Behruth. He was the one Peppeth had picked, so he must be nice. And he was much bigger then the green sister. What fun this would be! He spiraled down comically, now flying even more crooked then before. He landed on Behruth's rump, close enough so he could see Vex. He wanted to be sure of where she was going next.

Oh, was he becoming part of the obstacle course now? The brown didn't mind joining in, since all three of his headmates were wrapped up in the chase already. (He was fond of Vex anyway, though he wasn't sure what she meant by sharing Checkoth with him since she'd never seemed upset about his being near his clutchbrother as it was.) Crooning softly to the green mandyr, he began swinging his tail quickly enough to make it difficult for little ones to follow her, but not so hard that if he caught one he was likely to break them. Behruth would hate to actually hurt one of the little friends. Good run, little beauty, he murmured back to her.
The brown firelizard could barely contain his joy at not only being addressed directly by the salamandyr, but also so positively praised. He twirled midair, chasing her words with a croon...and nearly running into the side of a chair in his excitement. Oh, oh he should be more careful. If he splatted he would never have a chance of...of...no, he didn't really have a chance now, but that wouldn't keep him from trying. (Didn't even have the pretty colored cloth the other brown had. A shame. Maybe that would help? Clearly Vex was an okay Other to chase, since so many other firelizards seemed to want her. He knew she was special.) Zipping low, he had an advantage when it came to the tail...the brown was his big brother and he slipped easily beneath it, coiling around the legs and up Behruth's flank to perch on a neckridge, watching Vex intently.
PMS moved almost directly behind Sneak, taking the opposite direction and instead winding around and around in dizzying circles up the dragon's leg. Weeeeeeeeeeeee. Oh now he was beginning to feel a little sick and wasn't he supposed to be chasing? Yes, that was right, he was, and now he needed to find her again, he did. Crooning softly to himself, he clung to the dragon's knee long enough to regain his bearings, then zipped straight up to the top of his hindquarters, looking around for...ah, there she was! PMS flared his frill briefly, almost like a wave, then hunkered low and wiggled his hindquarters. More?
Blood and ow and gooooiiiinnngggg. He didn't even acknowledge the blood streaming steadily down his forearm - she'd got him good and he'd be pissed later, if only because people usually got stabbed back when they stabbed him, but there was no M'ta at all in the man who leapt up - stepping on something that went crunch and ignoring that too. Oh, acknowledged. Suddenly grinning, he palmed the couch, vaulting over the back of it and darting out the door after the lovely green and the other chaser who (despite being so very fat) must be having better luck cause he kept on managing to pull ahead.
"Coming coming coming," he called quietly up to her, since the fatty was so fat she probably wouldn't see him. Bounding up the stairs, he bounced from side to side, making little hissing noises. FATTY BLOCKING THE WAY. How aggravating. As soon as open sky opened up overhead, he brushed past the fat one, sticking his tongue out at him then bounding ahead. Freeeeee! The man began to skip as he followed the beautiful one.

Running, running. They were still running. And for good reason too! That mandyr eater was looking very suspicious, all crouched down and the like. When Vex took to the trunk Dash chose to skirt its base closely instead, jumping took to o much energy and he was starting to get a little tired. Not much, but enough to want to conserve as much energy as he could. Lengthening his stride as the Green bolted across the floor after having leapt off the trunk, Dash was startled when they came upon a Dragon. Oh my! Leaping backward as the Brown began to swing his tail, the Salamandyr trilled in objection. Vex was tricky tricky. Employing the bigbrownone to make it harder for them! But still, it wasn't quite fair to involve a Dragon! Oh well, it just meant he'd have to find another way up!
Swinging his head from side to side, Dash shimmied over to the wall that was farthest away from the Dragon, scooting along the crevice that was made when wall met floor. Soon he cleared the tail, fortunate that he hadn't gotten hit. Scrambling to pick up speed, the littler Brown made his way toward the Brown's head. A few seconds after jumping into the air, he glided a short ways and attached himself to the wall. Running up it, he got as high as he could before pushing off of it and flared his wings to slow his descent. Look, see he made it past that big, big tail. Landing on Beruth's neck, he made sure not to use his claws to cling onto the Brown's hide.
Pausing as the Green rubbed against the archway, Kaegan shifted her weight off of her uncomfortable ankle. She also took the momentary pause to brush some more dirt and rock from the scratches on her arm. Ouchie. She wanted to keep all of her attention on Vex, but her ouchies stung. It was fortunate then, that she noticed the Green leave at all. Squawking in complaint, much like her Mandyr half had done, Kaegan took off through the other exit in chase. Iskierka had gone unnoticed, since she had not intervened on her attentions. Sprinting as quickly as she could, the Brown took the stairs with as much energy as she had done with her running. She didn't want to loose the Green. "No lose, keep up yes." Up, up, up! Cresting the end of the staircase, Kaegan was panting harder than she had been moments before. Clearly, she was not made for endurance running. No sir. Heading after the Green, the Brown tried to move as swiftly as she could. But it was apparent all too soon, that she just wasn't as fast as the other two. Shameshame!

Right up Behruth’s back she went, his compliments earning a low, sweet croon from the green. She looked over her shoulder only once, and found herself immediately displeased, as evidenced by the quick flash of red in her eyes. Hobbs was out – she would not be caught by any creature that could not escape the Empress. He was nice enough, but she simply wouldn’t accept that, and she dismissed him – not with cruel words (as some salamandyrs might) but a quiet suggestion, Find fixer, bluelove; hurt, Vex does not want. Best get fixed fast. Please, pretty Flyer. Go find Fixer, make sure okay. She wouldn’t accept anyone who couldn’t pass her ‘tests’ but she did not want any of her chasers to be hurt. (She’d also noticed that Empress was being careful not to cause permanent harm – perhaps playing – and she was grateful for that. With Hobbs out of the running, though, that left six of them – six to choose from, and it was a very, very difficult choice.
The brown in the dress was the next to be eliminated in Vex’s mind. He was handsome enough and definitely a good chaser – there was no ‘good’ reason to disqualify him. Her motives were driven more by the heightened connection she had to R’wign and his knowledge that Ellie would be most upset if she picked Charming – because Charming, in Ellie’s mind, was hers. The gold was ridiculously fond of the silly, flamboyant brown and R’wign/Vex did not want to take him away, no matter how entertaining he was. It was that thought that drove Vex up Behruth’s haunches, toward his back, speaking back to Charming privately, Goldmine no share pretty brownling, am sorry. Elliequeen very upset, would be. Forgive Vex? She liked him well enough, and she wanted to make sure he understood that it was definitely not ‘personal.’ Getting along with her firelizard companions was in her best interest – which meant no picking one of the browns that Ellie claimed. Charming was actually her favorite brown, after the Checkoth-brown, so it was simply not acceptable. No, no, no.
Five left. She did a quick flip onto one of Behruth’s ridges and scampered forward, her little legs quickly going tired. Big dragon was biiiig.
And she didn’t appreciate protests to her chasing. Dash earned a harsh hiss from her, rather than compliments as the others did. If he wasn’t capable of following her through thick and thin without complaint, well, why would she ever settle for him? Vex was the kind of salamandyr who was only satisfied with those who would listen to her unwaveringly. She’d liked him well enough and looking at him sent an awkward feeling through her that she couldn’t describe, sort of like butterflies. Recognition though they’d never really met before, and it was actually R’wign’s thoughts that escaped her more than her own, Prettyling hurt. Find fixer, too. Vex sorry. Her little front paws scrambled and she tried to move forward, tried desperately to ascend up the back of Behruth’s neck while ignoring Sneak’s perch. No, no, no.
Sausage was out. He’d pretended not to like her. She didn’t want him. That left a brown, a blue flitter, and the silly Blue who cuddled with her. A surge of affection filled her that was only half-Vex’s. Oh, it was true that the salamandyr liked PMS well enough: he came and cuddled with her at night from time to time and he was okay, when he was able to make sense, but she often dismissed him as simply too “simple” – not really good enough for her. However, being as connected to R’wign did have side effects on her as well… and one of them was an increased fondness for the Sausage and PMS both – they were Hers, as much as Theirs was R’wign’s, and he did not want anyone else. It was a strange sensation, the feeling of loyalty that she couldn’t explain, but it seemed like such the obvious choice. She already was his, wasn’t she? He’d just never managed to catch her yet. Silly blue. Obviously, she had to help him.
The green salamandyr all at once flung herself backward, tackling PMS off Behruth’s hindquarters, her slender body tangling with his and her wings spreading to keep them from hitting the ground roughly. She twined her tail with his and fanned her frill pleasantly at him before licking the blue’s head in tender affection. Silly blueling. Am already yours, you remember?
Her human companion on the clifftops mirrored her jumps by skipping and twirling in the air – a sight sure to earn stares from anyone who happened to be up there for any reason. The chasers were acknowledged in the same sort of way that Vex did – mentally dismissing the two firelizards all at once because they weren’t present. The third fell into the same category for R’wign, but Dash was not immediately disqualified – because R’wign recognized Kaegan, and his stomach did a small somersault that he couldn’t suppress. His twirling stopped and he turned around to back up, a bright blush spreading over his face as his back hit a tree – he’d managed to guide them to the jungle’s edge, unintentionally. Mumbling, he said softly, “I’m sorry, Kae.” He didn’t want her to be hurt, and if he remembered anything about the Run, he probably would’ve felt quite horrible.
As it was, though, M’ta coming into his sight clinched Vex’s decision, for his eye half-lidded in definite affection. His arms shot out and he grabbed M’ta by the wrists before pulling him forward, his own back pressing back against the tree as his lip met his weyrmate’s. Already his indeed.

Sneak and PMS both seemed to know that it was drawing to a close, and not in their favor as the suitors were dismissed one after another. The blue salamandyr was bypassed entirely, his playful invitation altogether ignored, and the male lowered his head. For some reason this green, this game was one he really, really had to win. It was important somehow, and it had everything to do with the lovely green cuddlemate. But she'd already passed him by.
Watching from his position, the brown firelizard had never held out that much hope, and her avoidance of him clinched that. The male lowered himself almost defensively, still watching her, but not willing to admit how disappointing it was. Of course, she was an Other. Firelizards and Others didn't mix.
He paused, the 'green' within sight still, but barely. The joy of before was ebbing into something bitter and sad, and his eyes held on the beauty for a long moment, fighting the desire to simply turn and leave and curl up in a corner somewhere. But she hadn't made her choice yet, even if it wasn't him, and it would be unbelievably rude to walk away right now. So he waited, waited to see who she'd choose...instead of him.
PMS was caught off-guard at the sudden leap, half-crooning and half-squealing from surprise. They hit the ground, her words causing the purple to bleed darker with blue, and he did something decidedly rare. Veeeeexxxxx. It was almost like a soft sigh, the male tightening his tail with hers and rubbing his head all up and down her neck. His beautiful cuddlemate mate. Only his.
Drawing up against his Vex, he twisted his arms enough to twine his fingers with hers, swinging them gently as he nuzzled and kissed at her jaw, crooning faintly all the while. "Vex." He pressed against her with a shiver and released one hand to toy with the hem of her shirt. "Mine."
A pair of eyes slowly bleeding purple watched the two salamandyrs from Behruth's back in silent melancholy, and the brown crooned to him reassuringly.
