The brown dragon crooned a soft greeting to his clutchsibling, whuffling softly. Nice to see her; he hadn't for a while, after all, and that was just wrong; they should be friends, shouldn't they, after all they'd gone through together? Of course. And then - where in Faranth's name did he think he was going?! The brown dragon uttered a confused warble as the boy that Lennae had called a menace spun and ran off. And that confusion was quickly quenched by a flare of anger, Leweleth's nostrils flaring as his eyes narrowed, his tail flicking in distaste. Some people are simply uneducated, the brown answered Amith's query, his tones soft and almost dangerous in its quality. Had that boy shown any respect for His? No. And had His dismissed him? No. And had he even thought about the fact that they were not incompetent wherries who couldn't track for their lives? No.
T'kal, whose brow had been furrowed in concern, had taken one step towards Pepsi when the boy hissed at Leweleth and vanished, leaving a highly confused brownrider in his wake. The golden queen fire lizard came down to roost on his arm with a twitter that was distinctly agitated, T'kal absently caressing the sinuous neck. "Yes, I agree. This is a mess," he commented dryly to the fire lizard, who chirruped softly in response. He cast a swift glance at the Candidate, one brow arching at her comment. "We're going to block him off and get him back to the Weyr," he answered. "How, I'm not sure specifically, but we've got Leweleth and - Amith, tentatively, along with this little queen here, if anything gets out of hand. There's not a man on Pern who can outpace a flying dragon."
Suggestions? He is insolent. Must we catch him? I wouldn't, but he's far too close to the Weyr for such violence. He might actually hurt someone, or your precious meals might go to him instead - and it's just too risky to have him unhampered. Besides, if he's wandering around this much, he's probably got some interesting knowledge about the surrounding area that can be of use to us - resources we've overlooked, things like that. He went /that/ way. I'll fly you straight, drop you off in the nearest clearing, and have Amith and Hers follow his path and keep in contact with us. Does he have knives? More's the pity, but so do I. As illustration, T'kal touched the dirk hanging against his thigh. Plus, if he's as wild as they're saying, he shouldn't know basic fighting techniques that are taught to the Weyrlings. Or about pressure points, or anything like that. I can handle him, if we can catch up. Are you sure? Can't you just talk to him? A snort was the only answer, and T'kal turned to Lennae and Saeo with a slight sigh.
"Okay. I'll send this flit ahead of us to find the man, and then Leweleth says he'll carry me up ahead to the nearest clearing; she'll," gesturing at the queen resting on his arm, "give Leth and Amith coordinates to /between/ to - and as soon as we've seen him, we can just outfly him. Leweleth can definitely outlast any man, and I'm sure Amith can too, though I haven't seen her fly so I wouldn't know." He paused, glancing at Leweleth, who nudged him lightly with his tailtip. "If it takes too long, I'll go down and fight him, but I'd prefer it didn't come to that." He shrugged. "Candidate - sorry, I don't know your name? - you can choose to fly on either Amith or Leweleth, but make it quick. Any complaints, or should I send this little one on now?" The words came out in a rush, and when he was finished, T'kal grinned apologetically as he soothed the fire lizard that had ascended to his shoulder, watching them with anxiously flashing eyes.
