Erilena blinked and nodded at Dmitri as he announced that he was glad for the move of the Main Hall. To be honest she was to. The sooner they all got into the canyon the safer they would be. Stone didn’t burn. A shudder ran through her at that thought. The goings on in the hatching ground had given her nightmares for days after. Shudder. The acrid smell of smoke had taken forever to fade. Finally full she leaned back and watched Dmitri. The way he examined her before had made her slightly nervous but things where mellowing out now and she was grateful for it. No more talking about awkward things. It made things weird. Ignoring them wouldn’t fix them no, but she wasn’t ready or willing to go there yet. Awkward it would be to reveal something that the other might not want public knowledge.
Almost unconsciously the weyrling mirrored Dmitri’s head tilt with one of her own and smiled at him as he lifted a hand. “I just do it for fun. I really haven’t had any formal training at all. I once had a harper teach me a few moves but to be honest. I just picked things up on my own.” She gave the bluehandler a considering look and then nodded. Not flirtatious. Hmmm. “I think I’d like lessons a lot actually. I have good rhythm I know. Most of my dancing is just purely what I am feeling at the time. It would be nice to actually get a feel for what I am doing wrong or right.” Whether or not it would change her style was debatable. If Erilena found it too structured and rigid likely she would just go back to her old ways. Self expression is what dancing was all about for her.
Smiling the greenrider reached out and grabbed Dmitri’s hand. “Hey. Thank you so much for dinner. It was really sweet of you.” Really it was very nice of him. Whether there was a motive behind it other than kindness she really couldn’t say. She gave his hand a slight squeeze before letting it go and turning her head to look back in the direction of the infirmary. “I’m surprised you where brave enough to venture into the realm of the sick again.” Erilena made a face before turning back and shifting. Feyrianth was prodding her again and she momentarily closed her eyes to speak to the green and inform her of what was going on. With a giggle she opened her eyes and turned her attention back to Dmitri. “Feyrianth wants to know if you want to come with me to see her. I think she is getting a bit lonely. You kidnapped me right on my way to go see her.”

The smile was real enough, if decidedly crooked, in response to Erilena's acceptance. Dmitri wasn't certain, but he thought that some of the awkwardness just might be a result of the greenweyrling being interested in R'ven, and if that was the case...they'd make a decent couple. Both polite. Nice. Kind of dull, really, when it came right down to it, and more on the sickeningly sweet side, but he didn't doubt it would work well enough. Probably. Anyway, he wasn't Erilena's type and he didn't blame her for it. The older girl's company, however, was something he enjoyed, even if they didn't seem to have a lot to talk about. She was a positive person without crossing into the realm of annoying - much.
"Well, you figure out a good time that doesn't require me waking up in the middle of the day, and I'll be happy to work with you a little," he responded quietly, the smile fading slightly as she grasped his hand. Dmitri raised a brow questioningly, then snorted at her words. Oh. "Sweet. That's not a word I hear often...but you're welcome." He began packing up what hadn't been eaten, fully intending to nibble on it through the night. Faranth knew there wasn't much of a selection once the drudges turned in for the night. "Giving me too much credit there, Erilena. I was brave enough to come near the infirmary, but you'd best believe I wouldn't have set foot in there unless under duress," he responded, a mocking note in his voice directed at himself. The infirmary wasn't his idea of a joyful hangout.
A flicker of uncertainty moved across his face. Feyrianth. Shards, how dragons made him uneasy. It probably wouldn't be difficult to find a way out of it, but then there was always the chance that Erilena would pick up on what he was doing, or that it would hurt Feyrianth's feelings regardless. "Uh, sure. You'll have to apologize to her for me for kidnapping you...the ever-popular Lena." His nose wrinkled playfully. "Dmisk is asleep or I'd bring him along; he's been sleeping so much lately that I think he needs it, to help fully heal." The healers said that the wher was back to full health, but Dmisk never slept this much normally, so Dmitri was disinclined to believe them.

Erilena smiled at Dmitri as he accepted and gave a happy squirm. “Okay I’ll work out a time. It shouldn’t be all that hard. What about mornings? Like two days a week? I can work stuff around I’m sure.” It would take some doing but it shouldn’t be to hard. A few hours out of whatever free time she had now would be worth it to get some actual teaching. Tilting her head she watched Dmitri pack up the food and snorted softly. “Well I think you can be sweet when you actually try.” She leaned forward and tapped his forehead. “I’ve also seen you be a jerk though. You should try being nice sometimes. It gets you farther.”
She winked after that and turned to look back at the infirmary. “Yeah it can be depressing but it’s not all that bad. Everyone I work with is friendly in their own way. It’s kind of like being part of a team. I like it despite the horrible stuff that happens sometimes. It’s worth it to watch them leave all whole again.” trailing off again the weyrling turned just in time to catch a flicker of something. Huh. Maybe she imagined it? He seemed fine now.
Dmitri’s playful smile was returned. “Well you can tell her yourself. Don’t worry she is just the sweetest thing. She might lick you to death though. I’ll make sure she behaves.” Standing up Erilena dusted herself off and mentally reached for Feyrianth. Coming your way soon darling. The words about Dmisk caused her to frown slightly. “Huh. He’s sleeping a lot? Might be all the stress he was under when you where both injured. It may be taking him awhile to completely readjust. If you want I can take a look at him.”
She would be glad to really. Poor thing. She had been the one who had treated him on scene and ever since then felt responsible for how it all turned out. Although the more experienced people had taken over she had still made an effort to keep herself involved. Poor blue. “He could have gotten a secondary infection but I doubt it. He’s probably just catching up on needed rest.” The weyrling smiled at Dmitri reassuringly. “Especially with Dementia being egg heavy. If she’s been more emotional than normal, that can’t be easy on him either.”
Turning she looked back at the opening to the canyon. Feyrianth would be waiting somewhere close to the weyrling barracks, probably. Looking over her shoulder she smiled back at the harper. “Coming?”

"Just pick the days. I'm usually up till mid-morning as it is," he agreed, crouching by the packed food and merely fiddling with things. Rearranging them to the casual eye. Fidgeting to the more observant. Dmitri didn't much care to discuss his behavior beyond 'bratty' or 'assholeish'. "All being sweet gets you, Erilena, is a bunch of leeches and opportunists. Think about it: if people are willing to deal with you as a jerk, they're worth keeping. Hm?" Not that she was likely to understand him; the greenweyrling was the sort to think everyone was worth keeping. Sometimes he envied people that faith, but mostly he just found it naive. Those sorts of people ended up face-first in ditches with empty coin-purses and nice holes arranged artfully down their back.
He didn't comment on the infirmary at all. Not about to yank that one out from under her. Erilena was a healer, anyway, and that was a good sight different from being confined there as a patient. Quite a bit different. People associated things, and the infirmary was very closely associated with pain and depression for Dmitri. Fortunately, all those friends who were willing to put up with his being a jerk had been there for him, which...pretty much just validated his behavior, now didn't it?
Keeping his face carefully schooled at mention of Feyrianth saliva, he wondered if he shouldn't suddenly take ill to his stomach. Tch. Dragons. Touching him. Not his idea of fun. Nor was being gooed. "He doesn't hurt or anything, Lena. I don't think it's anything to worry about." More to the point, Dmisk hated infirmaries and was very territorial of their apartment. He didn't even like other wherhandlers entering. Even Nautic and Nautsk now that they were no longer sharing. Admittedly, the male wasn't nasty to his clutsisters or Theirs, but he definitely wasn't comfortable with it. Best to just...let him alone. Dmitri figured that behavior was likely to ease up once Dmisk was feeling better, too.
Dmitri strode after Erilena, slipping his free hand into his pocket and not looking down. Not afraid of heights, but he didn't find them as easy to ignore as some others did. "You're sure she really wants to meet me?" he questioned. That seemed kind of odd. Erilena might want him to meet her, but what possible use could a dragon have for him?

Erilena mentally went through her schedule in her head. She was sure they could come up with at least two days for lessons. Twice a week was more than sufficient for dancing lessons one would think. Yes that sounded good actually. Dmitri’s comments on being sweet where taken with a half smile. Maybe. But maybe not. She met a lot of sweet people who had awesome friends. Maybe he was right but that’s not how that stuff always worked. Right? Well she thought so anyway. Perhaps that was a bit naïve of her but well the weyrling wasn’t to keen on changing that. She was who she was. Simple as that. Everyone had a bit of good in them somewhere. Just as there was also a bit of bad in everyone to. People where simply more complicated than most would lead you to believe.
Skipping forward Erilena turned around to listen to Dmitri speak about Dmisk. Giving a slight nod she smiled. “Well if you ever do need someone to take a look at him don’t be afraid to ask. I can handle simple stuff now and I’m starting to learn a bit about trauma. Like thread injuries, fighting injuries and the like. Isn’t as hard as I thought it would be. But I’m a good study.” Turning around she mentally checked Feyrianth’s exact location and then stopped suddenly to wait for her harper friend to catch up. When he drew up next to her the weyrling grabbed his arm.
“Of course she wants to meet you silly! The first time she saw you, you where passed out and mumbling something about bones. She wants to see this friend of mine when he is normal. I promise she won’t knock you down or anything like that. She’s enthusiastic but she listens well and she wouldn’t hurt a fly I’m positive.” Giving a decisive nod Erilena fell in step beside the harper, linking her arm with his.
It was true. Feyrianth was curious about him. Hers liked him and so she wanted to meet him. Maybe gain another friend in the process. It seemed reasonable to Erilena at least. Why wouldn’t Feyrianth be curious. It almost looked like Dmitri was nervous. That thought gave her a bit of pause. What did he have to be nervous about? Feyrianth could hardly eat him and she was just adorable. Okay well maybe the weyrling held a bit of bias towards her own dragon. But Feyrianth was cute.
