“Died?” Erilena repeated with a frown. That was sad. Even if R’ven didn’t seem particularly torn up about it. She couldn’t imagine her own parents dying. He further clarified things when he did she only titled her head curiously. He never wanted to know? Well to be honest if he was happy then there really was no need to know. Would she want to know? Probably but then again she wasn’t him. She watched him eat in silence occasionally taking a sip of juice. The weyrling giggled when he mentioned eating her out of house and home and she almost snorted the juice. That would have been uncomfortable. She set the cup down just as he saw fit to pick up her discarded flower. Darn him she missed again. Oh well she would just have to be sneakier about flicking him. One of these times she would hit her mark.
Erilena turned her eyes up towards the smith just as he shook the flower at her. “Hey now. They aren’t just leaves. Besides hot food doesn’t sound the best and I have to watch my figure.” She dropped the latter part in just to be a brat knowing R’ven would, most likely, have the typical male reaction to such words. Watch her figure? Sure. Her eyes widened as he bit into the flower and then she narrowed them playfully as he spit it out. The urge to laugh was bubbling up and the weyrling covered her mouth with the back of her hand determined to make him work for it. Then the flower was in her face again tapping her nose and she scrunched up the appendage. Her eyes flicked playfully up to R’ven as Erilena snapped her teeth inches from the vegetation and then brought a hand up to catch his wrist. “Are you threatening me?” She raised an eyebrow at him playfully. “What would you do if I went ahead and cut it anyway despite your wishes?” She said playfully before leaning back and sticking her tongue out at him in a brilliant display of maturity. “I’d like to see you try to stop me. ~” Fighting words? Oh definitely.
Before R’ven could retaliate Erilena was on her feet and dancing away towards the tree. Catch me if you can. She threw one backwards glance over her shoulder before slipping around the back of the tree and pressing her back against it. Whether the brownrider would actually chase her or not she wasn’t sure but she wanted to be prepared for such a possibility.

Watch her figure. Pah, typical girl. R'ven snorted and made a reach for her waist, about to tease her that yes she needed to lose a few pounds – could baaaarely get his arms around her portly figure. Alas, he found his wrist seized and he playfully narrowed his eyes to meet her challenge. His again reached for her, but whatever plans he had to thoroughly tormenting her into keeping her hair long... were lost as she nimbly bounced away.
Amused, R'ven watched her dance toward the trees while idly lifting his sandwich back up to take another large bite. The last portion was set on a nearby rock before the smith rose to his feet and calmly walked in Erilena's direction. He leaned his hands against the opposite side of the tree she hid behind, idly tracing a pattern over the bark with a fingertip.
"I suppose.. " He started, shifting to one side to peek around the trunk. "I'd have to stick the hair back to your head using honey. Can't imagine it would look as nice, but it'd smell sweet." He didn't really protest her hair being short, but she didn't need to know that; and likely she knew he was playing around with her. Slowly and steady he tried to ease around until he felt he had a good enough chance to snap out his arm in attempt to catch her hand. "Maybe I should check the stalls for wigs?"

Erilena waited for a moment or to before peaking around the tree to catch sight of R’ven. So he was coming after her after all. Being so big it was harder for him to actually sneak up on her, something that she found amusing really. Moving her weight forward slightly she waited until he had peeked around the tree before moving forward away from it a few inches.
The weyrling's eyes narrowed playfully again as he spoke and she made a face. “Eww honey. Not only would that be a mess but I’d be a waste of good food. I don’t think you’d really do that would you handsome?” No Erilena really wasn’t going to cut her hair all off but the brownrider didn’t need to know that did he? Of course not. It would take all the fun out of tormenting R'ven by claiming she would cut it. If he liked it so much it would stay. Simple as that. It really wasn’t that much of a bother anyway.
His other comment actually did make her laugh. “Wigs? I don’t know if they sell them here and besides….” Whatever else Erilena was going to say was cut off as R’ven suddenly moved to grab her. Whoops she had thought his reach was shorter than that. Her mistake. Immediately the weyrling tucked herself right up against him and tried to look pitiful. “Oh I’m so sorry. Please don’t go through with your horrible threats.”
She eyed her date in playful amusement, before standing on tip toes, shard him for being so tall, to kiss him. She lingered for just long enough to get a pleasant buzz from the contact. Suddenly she found herself very disinclined to move from their current location. Hmmm. Pulling away to set her feet firmly back on the ground, the greenrider twined her fingers with his and smiled. “Umm now what where we planning on doing?” Tilting her head Erilena found herself tracing the line of R’ven’s shoulder up to his face. Funny how one little kiss could make your mind draw a blank even if only momentarily.

The capturing hand slowly traced down her arm to threading his fingers in with hers, R'ven moved her arm up and lightly pressed into the trunk just above her head. Deliberate was the angle to put the tree between them and the gather, but who could really say he had an intention in mind when stalking up to the tree – and that she had not lured him there for a purpose. With her back to the trunk, R'ven leaned down to meet her kiss. His free arm around her waist and pulling her close.
It was hard not to touch her, R'ven noted, especially when she got that look on her face. The smith ended a second kiss and leaned the side of his forehead to hers. "Well.." He mused, fingers tracking down the outside of her thigh while his voice rumbled lowly with suggestion. Before she could smack his arm or give him a disapproving look for his tone. R'ven bent at the knees and wrapped an arm around the back of her thighs. In the next instance he had her over his shoulder and plodding back out toward their food.
Mindful of her attire, R'ven made sure the hem of her skirt kept tucked under his hand to avoid it blowing up if the wind picked up. "I wanted to go to the glasscrafter stall and.." Swaying to a halt, R'ven balanced her there, bent at the knees to go straight down to pick up the last bit of his sandwich. Couldn't leave without it. "And I suppose I can ask around for a wig. Big red curly one."
Even though she couldn't see his face, R'ven wrinkled his nose at the thought. Didn't like red hair. "Maybe head out to the beach from here. You could pick up some shells to practice more beads or something other.. you do need more supplies, right?"

Mmmm. It didn’t quite matter to her that her back was against such a rough surface. Not at all. Erilena tilted her head just enough to meet R’ven’s lips as he pulled her close against him. In her opinion the kissing ended to soon and she sighed breathlessly as he pressed is forehead against hers. The heat of the day was quickly forgotten. So what if it was hot? There was no way the weyrling was disengaging from her date currently. The electric feeling that always flowed through her when they touched only intensified as the brownrider’s hand started it’s downward travels along her thigh. The tone of his voice made her shudder but in a good way. Naughty boy. Erilena half closed her eyes and was about to comment on such when R’ven suddenly threw her over his shoulder. She had time for a half yelp of protest before he was walking off with her. Very naughty boy. Maybe it was him that she should be punishing.
Oh she could very well have squirmed or even kicked but Erilena forced herself not to fight back. For the moment anyway. She was in a skirt. It made fighting back near impossible unless she wanted to flash someone. Which she didn’t. Not at all. With a frustrated look on her face she listened as R’ven went on about their plans. After picking up the rest of his food of course. Had her held captive and he was still concerned with eating. The greenrider’s expression turned from frustrated to amused at that. Turning her thoughts back to the smith’s words she mentally repeated the plan of attack. Glasscrafter stall and then…what? She couldn’t help it, she burst out in laughter which was slightly uncomfortable due to her current position. “Red? Good thing you're joking. I’d look like Cr’oph on a really, really bad hair day and no one would find that attractive.” The words where uttered in between bouts of giggling.
Was she joking at the expense of their arrogant bronze riding classmate? Most definitely. Looking back as the scenery passed them Erilena busied herself with drawing patterns on R’ven’s back. “Beach sounds good. I bet there’s all kinds of awesome stuff there and I could find something for Feyrianth. She was so sad that she couldn’t go. I promised I’d bring her a present. I bet she’d prefer something from the beach over anything else.” A few more minutes of being carried like a sack of tubers and she was really getting antsy. Ok enough was enough. Finally the greenrider did start to squirm slightly. “Let gooo.” She whined, attempting to force the smith to set her down. “Set me down? Please? I’ll behave I promise.” Okay maybe not completely but she was willing to try anything at this point.

"I find it highly attractive," R'ven garbeled answer came from around the last mouthful of sandwich. He continued to make the lazy stroll back toward the gather, never planning on actually toting her around in such a fashion for everyone to oogle at. Although, in that skirt, her legs did look nice. Reaching up, he briefly tickled her behind the kneecap before letting her slip down to land lightly on feet. One hand remained at her hip just in case she wasn't steady enough to stand.
He settled a scrutinizing gaze on her face, both hands moving to her shoulders. "Promise to behave?" R'ven leaned in closer, eyes narrowing just a touch further to emphasis he was making a threat. A clearly faux one, but that didn't stop his tone from being serious despite the ridiculousness of his words. "If you don't, I'll smother you with honey just for good measures and leave you out for the fire lizards to lick."
Closer yet his nose brushed against hers, "And if you're good we'll go to the beach. But not before! Otherwise you'll have to explain to Feyrianth that you were a bad girl and poor Trilaranth will have to spend the whole day trying to cheer her up." Unlikely so, the fawn colored dragon could probably find something to distract her within a few minutes – some other shiny and the green's constant jovial mood would return. "But if you talk me into it, I might feel generous and we can go find her a shell or two before the heat gets too much."
Just sitting out on the beach, feet in the waves, it definitely held appeal over continuing to wandering through the gather. Too many people involved in their date – even if she had paid for the food. The first and last time that was going to happen. On the other hand, being alone with her, even just playing around, it became difficult to keep his hands to himself. A stray bang was swept behind her ear as R'ven tilted his head, waiting on her decision.

Erilena gave a little grunt as he moved her from his shoulder to her feet. Scrunching up her nose she began straightening out her clothes. She was thankful that R’ven had decided he had enough of using her as a shoulder ornament. The weyrling blinked up at her classmate as he placed his hand slightly on her shoulders and then leaned in closer. Proximity not good for rational thought. Or wouldn’t have been if she wasn’t now in a playful mood. The greenrider countered the smith’s eye narrow with one of her own and then put her chin up and regarded him with one eye. “I promise to behave. I have no desire to let the fire lizards give me a tongue bath.” A slight shudder emphasized those words as she shook her head. “You know that sounds really gross. You need to come up with better threats.” For example…
But before Erilena could come up with a suitable one the brownrider’s nose was brushing against hers. Goodbye rational thought. Talk him into it? A sly smile spread across her face and she raised her hands to place them on either side of his face. “Talk you into it?” Ok she had two choices. Be silly and go to the Glasscrafter stall. Or…the latter. The later was really appealing to her right now. “I think Trilaranth would absolutely love to spend the day with my Feyrianth. Correct me if I am wrong. As far as where we are going.”
The greenrider trailed the last syllable off and tilted her head to press her lips against the smith’s. Her hands moved to caress down his neck and rest on his shoulders. She was using a bit more pressure than normal and Erilena slightly hesitated before flicking her tongue lightly across his bottom lip. Immediately afterward she drew away and lowered her hands so they now rested against his chest. A sort of physical barrier between them until she got her head on straight. Like she said before, proximity so not good for rational thought.
“Beach sounds so very nice.” The weyrling said a tad breathless. “Please?” She punctuated that word with a longing look that she knew R’ven probably wouldn’t be able to ignore. The water would be cool probably, or at least cooler than the air. There was also a light breeze from the sea and she would be lying if having privacy wasn’t a bit of a perk to. Private time with him sounded really good right now. Even if they just talked. He greenrider admitted that she wanted to know more about him. Oh she knew some things but well, she wanted to know more. Besides they could always visit the Glasscrafter stall in the evening when it cooled down a bit. Erilena had no desire to rejoin the press of people milling about. At least not currently.

Oh Shard. He had been counting on Erilena's playful nature to turn it into a game – silly words with a touch of childish antics. Her kiss, and gentle pulling down on him wasn't making things any easier. All she had to do, really, was fix him with that pleading look and utter the small word and he was likely to give her anything. R'ven kept his distance, his own hand slowly leaving Erilena's shoulders to take and thread with one of hers that had settled against his chest. One touch, he'd settle for that.. and that alone.
"He does enjoy her company, can't deny that." The smith replied thoughtfully while turning to steer their course toward the beach. He had to wonder if Trilaranth's fondness for Feyrianth were due to his own feelings – or if his feelings toward Erilena were because of the brown. After all, he and Erilena really had not taken notice of each other until they had become weyrlings. "You said you came from Selenitas Hold, right? So I guess the beach isn't anything new for you."
It was.. different for him. Hyphen had been more along a river, a wide inlet from the sea than actually on the salty waters. He had never felt the need to roam, so seeing anything other than the sights from his home were foreign to him. Didn't know what he thought of it yet, and R'ven reflected on these thoughts as they made it around the gather and approached the sands. It was a lot of water and he wasn't much of a.. water person. Wade up to mid-calf was about all the desire he had to do, even considering the heat.
"We should just make Feyrianth shiny.." An absent thought as he toed at a broken shell. R'ven shook his head and turned his gaze onto Erilena. "Have you gotten her to try gliding yet?"

As R’ven threaded his hand with hers a soft smile crossed her features and Erilena immediately fell in step beside him. Her gait was bouncy and she purposely half skipped in a desire to let him know how extremely happy she was. Titling her head back up towards him she giggled. “Yes he does like her doesn’t he? I’m glad he does.” She was too. Although Feyrianth tended to like every dragon. So it wasn’t really odd. She had yet to meet one that the green hadn’t taken a liking to in one way or another. She was admittedly closer to Trilaranth though. Possibly a product of her own desire to be close to R’ven. Part of the weyrling had to wonder if that was what the Weyrlingmasters sought to prevent by barring them from intimacy and anything of the sort. If it was it was too late now. Feyrianth was already close to the brown. “If only Bonnie would warm up to us now.” Bonnie. Where had the little flit gone? She had almost forgotten about her. The woman gave a glance around them as if expecting the little green to pop out of between any minute. Hmm.
The smith’s next question came as they where approaching the beach and Erilena tugged on his hand to speed them up. “Yep. That’s where I came from and you came from Hyphen. I really like the beach. You can find the coolest things and swimming is so nice when it’s really hot. Shame. I don’t have anything suitable for swimming. I’ll just have to wade.” As they approached the water she kicked off her sandals and immediately regretted it. “Ow. Ok bad idea. The sand is horribly hot.” Picking up her sandals the greenrider let go of R’ven’s hand to literally run to the surf. Dropping her footwear just before the wet sand started she waded in up to the ankle. Much better. Wiggling her toes in the water and wet sand Erilena looked back at R’ven and smiled. “Come on the water feels incredible.”
She waited until the brownrider got closer before replying to his comment and question. “I think she’d love anything we gave her whether it was shiny or just a rock.” Closing her eyes to the wind she sighed. “Unfortunately no. She is still positive that she can’t do it. I don’t know what to do. I can’t convince her. Mavenath and Cr’oph are already flying. The rest of you are in various stages and Feyrianth just won’t.” Erilena toed at a shell under the water and bend down to pick it up. “I’m hoping she’ll be more eager once everyone else gets in the air and she realizes she’s the only one left.” Examining the shell she made a face and tossed it back into the ocean. Turning back to R’ven she tilted her head as if considering something. “R’ven…Can I ask you a few questions? I’d like to know more about you. You can ask me stuff too. Kinda like twenty questions in a way.” Laughing she wiggled her fingers in his direction. “Be careful what you ask though handsome. I may have to swear you to secrecy for some of my more private information.” Her voice was light and playful taking almost any seriousness out of the ‘game’. “You go first.” Striding forward she outstretched her hand towards him in a silent bid for a walk down the beach in the surf.

"Stop worrying about her." R'ven gave Erilena's hand a light squeeze to emphasis the words. The green flit would accept it over time. Or, more probable, make some bizarre rationale to understand the situation – such as believing he was gathering greens about him just to make it more obvious she was the best out of the group. Females were ridiculous, be them human or dragonkin, they were prone to silly fits.
A smile twitched on R'ven's lips, but he opted to keep his comments to himself. There was no need to have attire to go swimming. That, however, was only asking for more trouble. Shaking his head, R'ven sat just short of where the incoming waves touched. Sandals were toed off and bare feet placed on the wet sand. "I would.. but the tide might carry me away. I'm not much of a swimmer."
That, and he didn't want to take a walk too far.. because they would end up having to come back when they where tired and the heat was already pressing enough. His hands came down to push experimentally at the sand, "I'm sure Trilaranth will figure out something to get her to try. I'll have to prod at him after we get back." His brows raised slightly at the loaded question. "I don't think there really much more to know about me. You know I'm from Hyphen, lived with my Uncle and his daughters, took on the smithcraft.. my stomach's a bottomless pit and.. I sink in water."
Selling himself short, perhaps, but he couldn't imagine what else could possibly interest her. Lightly shrugging, R'ven eased back onto his palms and stretched his legs out in front. "I guess, since you know I have a small herd of siblings, what about you – just the brother?"

The weyrling sloshed through the surf for a bit longer before joining R’ven on the sand. She would have liked to take a walk but eh. Probably to hot anyway. Instead Erilena settled herself beside the brownrider and watched the waves. “It would have to take a pretty strong tide to carry you way. You’re pretty solid. Maybe that’s why you sink.” She teased prodding him in the arm and then dropping her hands to her lap. Must be a good girl. “Yes please do ask Trilaranth. Maybe he can talk to her or something. I don’t want to worry to much but it’s hard to see her so upset about the whole thing.” Shaking her head she busied herself with flinging small rocks into the waves.
Tilting her head back the greenrider closed her eyes and listened to R’ven speak. After he finished she smiled and leaned her head against his side. “Oh I am sure there is more to you than that. You are more than just where you came from you know.” Trailing off Erilena placed her hand over the top of his. Maybe he didn’t like invasive questions? Should stick to simple stuff probably. If he wanted to know something he’d ask. Easy. Or should be anyway. Snuggling her head against him with a sigh she started to answer his question. “Well I don’t have quite as big a family as you. One older sister named Eria and an older brother named Lenick. Eria is married and lives in the hold with her husband. They had a pair of twins last year. My brother isn’t married. He lives at home still. He’s too obsessed with his craft to worry about girls. The has quite a few making eyes at him but he hasn’t noticed in the least.” She giggled then. “He’s not very observant. Or maybe he just doesn’t choose to acknowledge them. Not really sure one way or the other.”
Digging her feet into the sand Erilena fell silent, just enjoying the smith’s company for the moment. If R’ven needed anything else she was sure he would ask. Right now she didn’t have any more pressing questions. Slowly she threaded her fingers through his and gave his hand a light squeeze. “I’m having a really good time. Thanks for being my date handsome.”
