"Quiet people always tend to be surprising when they finally make their move." Sel'n's feigned serious expression was met with a calm smile. Gave interesting insight to what laid beyond the passive exterior. F'lix was curious enough to poke a finger or two under the mask if it drew his interest. Likelihood he'd get his fingers bitten for his trouble, but that had never stopped him in the past.
Standing aside as Sel'n retrieved his noisy pest and bag, F'lix let his gaze slip over the crowd just to make sure no looks of accusation shot their direction. The brownrider's comment, even as casual as them came out, made the bluerider bristle. Only a faint degree of change in his body language, but what came out more was the cold cast of golden eyes that pierced onto the older man. "I amend," The tone, too, had changed to the low monotone that held the barest rasp of a growl. "I don't act like anything I'm not."
Flirtatious, playful, those two qualities tended to come out more exaggerated when around older men, F'lix would admit – but he wasn't lying. It was a bit of a role he did fall into, but it was true enough in it's source to be recognized as part of him. The only farce he could be guilty of was the level of animosity he presented.
"Certainly not innocent, so if someone came looking for someone to blame.." the words trailed off. More due to F'lix's gaze dropping to the blood Sel'n licked off of lips than actually be unable to finish the thought. Well, not true, he really couldn't finish his thought because of the momentary distraction. Hn. His eyes snapped back up to Sel'n's face. "Why would I get in trouble because of you?"
An inquiring brow arched. Sel'n's mind seemed quick to jump to possibility that it was due to their little interaction. Hard not to prod at the subject there. Beside, he thought it would have been obvious it was due to Lilitu's run. He had assaulted people and dragged a drunken Mi'rah off into one of the unattended stalls to complete the run. Thankfully he didn't remember much, but still privately refused to ever step foot in Blossom Hold again.. and to never bring his green along to out-of-weyr events. The gather before that he had broken the nose of some young bronze rider. Yes, to say he got in trouble at crowded events was becoming an expectation.
Curiously his gaze searched Sel'ns face, wondering what trouble was waiting to break loose this time.

F’lix’s cold gaze was noted with interest and Sel’n paused for a minute in his stroking of Vanity, earning him a sharp nip. He amended that by lightly stroking her head with a finger tip while examining the bluerider. He had somehow unintentionally slighted the man and he just started to re examine his words when the younger rider spoke up. Ah. That was the trouble.
The Weyrlingmaster half smiled in apology at F’lix. “My apologies. I find myself second guessing most of what people give me. Bad habit.” Hopefully that would soothe any unintentional insult the other man had taken. Interesting man this bluerider was. Intriguing really. He hadn’t run yet and Sel’n wasn’t sure if that was because he actually truly wanted to stay or not. The man was proving hard to read sometimes. Vanity was quickly becoming fed up with not being the center of attention and it showed as she intentionally leapt to F’lix and frilled from his shoulder at her bonded. Me look me.
The Weyrlingmaster snorted at his pet before curiously regarding F’lix again. “Why would you be in trouble because of me?” He shook his head. “Oh I don’t know. Probably just reading to much into things again. F’ur didn’t seem exactly happy that I was hanging out with his drunk weyrmate last gather.” Can’t imagine why. Kaaoloth interjected from his sprawled position on the beach. You can hardly blame him for being possessive. Knowing your track record I would hazard a guess that you where lucky he did not stab you. Sel’n snorted and rubbed his temple. “Kaaoloth.” He offered in explanation before replying to the dragon. This has nothing to do with F’ur. Oh really? Kaaoloth we will talk about this later. Stop. The brown gave a mental snort but obeyed, trailing away until he was just a mere presence in the back of his riders mind.
Shaking his head Sel’n turned back to F’lix with an apologetic look. “I apologize. He has been quite invasive since Fort last attacked. I can’t blame him.” Blame him. Blame you. Vanity said sharply flicking her tail and then leaping off of F’lix to land on her bonded’s shirt. The brownrider raised an eyebrow but didn’t respond to her. Instead shrugging he looked back at the bluerider. “I suppose I am being slightly selfish attributing your ‘trouble’ to myself. Your darling green did also run that gather if I remember correctly. Suppose most holders would find that a bit distasteful.” He chuckled and then caught sight of the man heading their way. “Time to move F’lix.” he said cheerfully with a subtle head gesture towards the approaching figure.
Ducking easily into the crowd he busied himself with easily weaving through it. Briefly he wondered if F’lix would continue to follow. If the bluerider sought to escape now would be the best time for him to do such.

"Don't."
Quiet was the single word, but the firmness behind the tone was enough to interrupt the starting apology. If not that, the slitted glare of molten gold was enough to make most people pause. "Don't give me an empty apology like that. You have every right to doubt me. I don't trust you, and you don't trust me. There's no need to be sorry for caution." Whatever more he had been about to say got cut off as Vanity flaunted herself for attention. Annoying thing, F'lix felt Simper stir in his pocket and responded by pulling the salamandyr out by the tail and plopping him back onto the usual shoulder. Obviously the green needed a.. distraction. F'lix's gaze trailed back to the older man to finish his train of thought. "You can't apologize for purposely making a jab at someone."
Sel'n's repeating of the question cause F'lix eyes to keep the narrowed glare (granted, his left one always was like that due to injury). Giving him the run around. F'lix chin tucked ever so slightly – not like he should have expected anything less. Still, it bothered him on a personal level, Sel'n had been more true, in his opinion, a few moments ago. There was just something about the polite, oh-so-nice mask and manners that he absolutely loathed.
"What's with the sudden good guy act," F'lix responded, completely ignoring the topic concerning the mentioning of his darling green. The brief talk of the most recent attack did send F'lix mind down a different line of thought, but it wasn't enough to detract from his current irritation. As Sel'n moved off, F'lix didn't budge and merely followed the brownrider with a turn of head. His gaze then moved to not only look, but lock with the approaching man. All it took was that single look, F'lix with his annoyance and the stranger looking for a fight, someone to blame, something to hate.. the rest of the distance was closed in a few strides.
Sneering, F'lix faintly turned his head aside, eyes flicking away from the man. Tch, did Sel'n have to pick such a large man to make a fool of? Growling under his breath, F'lix shifted his hands to loop thumbs through his belts. "You want something?"

Continuing to wind through the crowd, Sel’n’s first clue that F’lix hadn’t followed was Vanity. He was too busy mulling over the other rider’s words to pay attention to her however. In a flash of anger the mandyr sprinted down his shirt to bite her bonded’s nipple. The brownrider stopped with a curse and then flattened her against his chest in an attempt to startle her into letting go. “Shard it Vanity that hurts. Get your poisonous maw off me before I hurt you.” He winced again as she obeyed and then scrambled out of his shirt to leap on his shoulder and flare her frill wide. Help Simper. No want hurt. My slavepet. Dunghead have make leak.
“What are you talking about?” The brownrider turned to try and figure it out, weaving back the way he came. He broke through the press just as the holder started striding towards F’lix with murderous intent. By the golden egg of Faranth. This was why the young should listen to the old. Yes he had no doubt pissed the younger rider off but that was no reason to intentionally cause trouble. Grumbling Sel’n started stalking towards them. So much for play.
Having seen the perpetrator leave Lebon strode up to F’lix and wasted no time getting in his face. “You better believe I want something. Where did your friend get off to? I have some choice words for him.” The man squared his stance and glared at F’lix. “I’m giving you eight seconds.” That was when he caught sight of Sel’n breaking through the crowd. “Never mind.” Immediately he turned his attention to the approaching rider. The Weyrlingmaster stopped a few paces away and gazed with disinterest at the man. “Can I help you?” Help you? Vanity asked with a snarl, her tail whipping back and forth, from her place on Sel’n’s shoulder. Lebon closed the distance between them with a few sharp angry strides. “Yeah I think I owe you something.” He said with a snarl before attempting a punch at Sel’n’s midsection.
The brownrider calmly brought his weak arm up to block it and hooked his foot in the other man’s wrenching it forward to throw him off balance and shoving him hard in the chest with his good arm. The holder was sent to the ground and immediately one of the brownrider’s boots found a purchase on his neck the other on his arm. Putting enough pressure on the foot to choke off the man’s air supply Sel’n smiled and leaned down. “Oh you do? I think maybe you should calm yourself a bit my friend. Nothing to be gained from violence.” The words where given a bit too cheerfully and Vanity purred from his shoulder. Bad man. Make leak.
Flicking blue eyes to his mandyr he snorted and laid a hand on his belt knife. “I suggest you find someone else to bother. You’ve put me in a very bad mood and I wouldn’t want to embarrass you in front of your girlfriend.” He shot a entirely too pleasant smile to a woman in the slowly gathering crowd who’s face was now white as a sheet. “Sadly maybe it’s a bit too late for that.” Taking his foot off the man’s neck he took a few steps backwards and watched apathetically as the man rolled over and tried to catch his breath.
Snorting he caught F’lix’s sleeve and jerked him towards the crowd which parted with quiet murmurs. “This time follow please.”

Those feral hued eyes slitted, brimming with what could only be described as amusement. F'lix lips, too, made that faint subtle curve into a mocking smile. He tilted his chin up to regard Lebon as he came oh-so-close to make his threats. Eight seconds, was it? F'lix cocked a brow at the strangers, a mental list already formulating of how much damage he could do in such a long period of time.
Alas, F'lix expression soured as the man dropped his interest to persue Sel'n. How.. disappointing. F'lix smoothly turned on heel, prowling around the scene. His lips were set in a mild frown, eyes masked with disinterest as he watched Sel'n diffuse the scene. He paused where Sel'n had backed away to, "Guess you didn't miss the fig—"
Whatever the bluerider had been saying was lost as he found his sleeve snagged and a firm jerk pulling him along. F'lix teeth gritted as he went along, waiting until Sel'n brought them to an empty area before quickening his next stride. His hand flipped around to seize the wrist of the hand holding his sleeve. He twisted it to bring Sel'n back around to face him.
"The shard is your deal–" He released the limb as soon as Sel'n was turned, but F'lix was already shoving at Sel'n's chest with his free hand, moving them between a pair of stalls. "I'm not one of your coddled weyrlings." Following through with the push, F'lix stayed with the older man, keeping a step into the other man's personal space so he nearly bumped into Sel'n with each step and move. All spit-fire but not exactly.. hostile, not throwing out any swings. Irritated, certainly, about one thing or another. Sure, most people were thankful about being helped to get out of a fight. But.. F'lix wasn't like most people. "I can take care of my sharding self."
If he wanted to be stupid and get into a fight to vent off some steam he was going to do that. No one else needed to be involved. He wasn't a sharding kid to be watched over. Simper crooned worriedly from his shoulder, but F'lix didn't pay him any mind. "You want to play a game Sel'n, that's fine. But stop bothering with the nice guy act with that stupid smiling mask. I'm not buying it and it's fucking irritating."

Sel’n was taken of guard by the hand that gripped his wrist and he allowed F’lix to turn him without any resistance. The words where taken in stride even as the bluerider aimed a shove at his chest that had him stepping back. His eyes narrowed and a surge of anger sparked though him. Mostly because Vanity was not appreciating this. Her gaze locked on F’lix and she hissed the sound low and menacing. Not willing to risk her. The brownrider ordered the mandyr in no uncertain terms off his shoulder. Despite a surge of anger, now directed towards him, she obeyed. Leaping off him to catch the fabric of one of the stalls she scampered up it and out of reach. Vanity out of harms way the rider allowed F’lix to vent. Finally having enough, the Weyrlingmaster brought his arm up to knock aside one of the blue rider’s shoves.
Squaring his stance Sel’n moved a step forward in a bid to get F’lix to stop. Narrowing his eyes he spoke. “Stop it. What’s my deal you ask? What where you playing at?” His voice was cold, no inflection on the tone. Was he angry? Upset? Perhaps and yet perhaps not. It was a near emotionless tone and despite the narrowing of his eyes there was no anger in them. Bringing his hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose he sighed.
“Shut up for one sharding second F’lix." Needed to keep calm. Further anger would not help. "Excuse me for not wanting to let you hurt the man. Last thing we need is a fight like that at Southern. They already don’t like us. S’rei would have been furious. If he catches wind of it he will be and I am not comfortable with letting you be involved in it. I instigated the fight. It was mine to finish not yours. I have no doubt you can take care of yourself.” Dropping his arms to his sides he sighed suddenly looking very tired.
Blue eyes fixed themselves on F’lix’s golden ones and the first inkling of true annoyance flitted momentarily through them. “Game?” The tone was quiet the underlying annoyance obvious. “Want to know what’s really fucking irritating? The fact that people have the need to dissect everything I say and turn it back on me as if I am the one at total fault. Yes. I wanted to play a game simply for the sake of curiosity. Nothing more nothing less. Excuse me for being curious.”
'Curiosity killed the feline~' Fussypantsmine. Isn't that what you said? You should not be surprised at this. You are a hard one to get along with on a good day. Trust me I know. Clenching his fist Sel’n sighed. “Kaaoloth kindly shut your sharding trap and keep your nose where it belongs.” Turning his eyes back towards F’lix, he forced himself to relax muscle by muscle. “I used to be a nice guy. It’s true. Not anymore. Things chance. Maybe that part was a mask, but not a completely intentional one.” Shaking his head he chuckled the sound humorless. “So much for a simple favor.

It took him long enough to react, F'lix mused while stopping his firm pressing of easing Sel'n further and further away from the mainstream of the gather. The bluerider settled his hands by his sides and merely regarded the older man with a glare. He didn't draw back though, not even as Sel'n finally stepped forward.
At least the man wasn't absolutely craven as F'lix had found Emoyan. The faint show of a smirk flitted across F'lix expression as Sel'n began to speak. Sel'n didn't strike back, despite the bluerider knew he had been tempting such a reaction. No man liked to be pushed around, even less so by some young hot-head. F'lix watched, and listen, with rapt interest to the man before him. The smile was growing more distinct along with the playful glow lighting back up in those golden eyes. He waited until Sel'n was done before moving.
Setting his hands on either side of Sel'n's waist, F'lix leaned into the taller man – rising onto the balls of his feet to make up for part of the height difference. Personal space gone, invaded, call it what you will, F'lix was there with natural ease as if there was no other place he belong. "Isn't it nice, Sel'n, to be true with yourself. Pretending to be what you're not must get so very tiring." Each word came out careful, purring in their music style that went along with the close proximity. His head tilted up, almost nosing Sel'n's jaw but drawing just short of the actual contact. Anger had always been a nice way to open someone up whether they liked it or not.
"You can be curious," His eyes never left Sel'n's face, even as he began to draw back down. "Play a game, even. But I'm not interested in interacting with your mask. It's just not very fun." Lifting a hand, F'lix touched the sides of Sel'n's chin with only enough pressure to tilt the man's face toward his own. "And we're both northern men, Sel'n. You can't buy another man – a man you hardly know – wine, expensive wine, without–" Here his gaze dropped to the dark red spots on Sel'n's lips from the harsh bite of his green. F'lix smirked, flicking his eyes back up to the brownrider's. "–expecting something in return."
Flix rose, snapping his teeth just short of kissing the older man. And then, as if it all were nothing, F'lix drew away.

The change in F’lix’s gaze was noted almost immediately. Sel’n was just beginning to try to work out the cause when the bluerider moved to place his hands on either side of his waist. The contact was very unexpected and it was with difficulty that the brownrider kept himself from reacting. Whether negatively or positively he still wasn’t sure. A surge of amusement not his own ran through him and he felt rather than saw Vanity fling herself from the gather stall to glide towards them.
The mandyr was completely forgotten as F’lix leaned towards him. His eyes widened and he swallowed with a bit of difficulty. “So very tiring yes.” His voice was husky, quiet. What was wrong with him? Blue eyes met the bluerider’s own golden ones, the confusion in them prominent. This so wasn’t near to what he had been expecting.
He would have been lying if he stated that there was no temptation there. There was. The urge to curl an arm around the other man was strong. Pull him closer. He wanted the contact. However the Weyrlingmaster resisted, mostly because of the fact that he was at the moment very confused. Was there some sort of switch he had flipped or something? Anger to this...Whatever this was. A game? Some sort of test? Sel’n’s mind wrested with the possibilities as he tried to listen to what F’lix was actually saying. As his head was tugged down back towards the younger man he regarded him curiously. The words offered had him twisting his mouth into a wry smile. Before he could speak however F’lix was leaning forward again and the brownrider’s heart sped up as if he was just some young kid again anticipating his first kiss. Annoying and yet it was a welcome sensation at the same time. However there was no kiss, instead the bluerider snapped his teeth and then drew away.
Disappointing really. Sel’n titled his head to look down at F’lix and smiled. This time there was no forcing it either. His eyes reflected his amusement as he finally spoke. “Ah. I’m afraid you have me terribly curious again F’lix. Tell me just what is it you think I’m expecting from you?” Because really at the beginning of this little venture he wasn’t expecting anything but a quick rejection to his company. Now, he wasn’t sure what to expect. It was different to be sure. Exciting. Maybe that was what drew him.
He felt claws prick his leg which signaled the arrival of Vanity. Immediately he offered her his hand which she wound about and nibbled on. Simpers fun yes? She asked privately eyes whirling in bright greens. Yes. I’d say so. dark eyes examined the younger man again and he chuckled. “You are a shameless tease F’lix.”

An amused smile curved on F'lix's lips. It pleased F'lix to see Sel'n lose his wits during that moment of closness. Repeating back the spoken words because nothing else could be brought to mind. The body language, the tone, F'lix eyes slitted in a distinctly feline contentment. It was flattering to know he could still have that effect on a man (and pleasing to know he had assumed Sel'n's interests well enough). After all, F'lix would soon be getting too old to play these games. Yes, he looked younger than he actually was, but eventually his options would grow increasingly limited and the men a bit too old for him. And those that snagged F'lix's interest would be seeking out younger men..
Not that he was too concerned. He didn't hop furs anymore. (Hopped a F'ur, yes.) But he'd be lying if he didn't admit that he felt a touch of malcontent in regards to his weyrmate. It was troubling to lay next to someone, have them in your arms, yet still feel that they were distant. F'lix rightfully knew that it was probably just his mind conjuring up shadows of doubt. But it was slowly becoming difficult to ignore them all, and some of them led to genuine worries that F'ur was getting bored of him, didn't find him as desirable any longer..
So yes, it was nice to know that someone found him attractive – was interested in him. F'lix half-turned, keeping his chin slightly bowed while shooting Sel'n a sly glance. "Do I have to spell it out for you?" He teased, weight swaying over the foot closer to Sel'n. "Perhaps you just like to hear someone else say it." F'lix clicked his tongue against teeth before shifting away, taking a step to turn fully. "Alas, let's just put it this way. I'm not won over by a bottle of wine."
Anymore, at least. In the past F'lix wouldn't have hesitated to see how much he could get out of a man like Sel'n. All because they wanted a piece of ass. In the north it became a delicate process in trying to find another man that was interested enough to get into the furs – and even then you'd have to worry about being outed for lying with men. F'lix didn't bother with a front, especially since Sel'n knew he was already involved with a man. Kind of took the mystery out of things. Yet, at least for Sel'n, it seemed Northern habits were had to shed.
F'lix turned to look over his shoulder, clearly waiting for Sel'n to come along. "It's the wine," He smiled devilishly at the brownrider. "I get a bit in me and I just can't help it."

Sel’n watched with thinly veiled interest as F’lix shifted and turned. A grin came over his face. Spell it out for him? Sure. The Weyrlingmaster settled for watching the younger man. Allowing himself a moment to eye him fully. Yes the bluerider was definitely a catch. That was for sure. The grin turned amused at the man's next words. So he believed that the wine was a bid for a bit of play time did he? Well he wasn’t really wrong, but he wasn’t really right either. Playtime was what he wanted, just not the type F’lix was thinking of. Although the brownrider had to admit that if it wasn’t for F’ur he would be trying. It was tempting to try anyway. Tsking softly he drew a finger down Vanity’s back. The mandyr had flattened herself and was watched F’lix warily as if she expected him to prod at hers more. Giving the bluerider’s back a halfhearted frill she nibbled on her bonded’s ear. Miiiiinnnnneee. What was so interesting about him? Attention should be hers.
The older rider chuckled at his pet. Don’t be jealous love. You know you’ve already got my heart. The green gave a sneeze at that and gave his ear a sharp nip. Better. Sel’n merely flattened her with his hand and strode forward, matching F’lix’s devilish smile for one of his own. “I see.” He responded in a playful tone. “I’ll remember that next time.” The implication that there would be a next time should not be missed. The Weyrlingmaster strode forward then, willing to follow F’lix for as long as his presence was tolerated. Curiosity may be allowed yes, but one had to be careful where that was concerned. Unless you wanted to get burned. Idly he wondered still at the sudden change in mood but it just made things more interesting.
Drawing up beside F’lix he intentionally brushed his arm against the bluerider’s. “Tell me.” Sel’n reached over to flick the man’s runner tail as Vanity vacated his shoulder for F’lix’s. “How would you have dealt with that holder?” His green curled next to Simper and nipped him sharply before crooning. The brownrider ignored her for the most part, only sending along a disproving pulse as she frilled at F’lix’s head. Leave it.
As he waited for an answer the Weyrlingmaster adjusted the bag that held the wine and concentrated on matching his stride to the bluerider’s. Keeping enough distance to avoid touching, but still close enough that all he would have to do was take a short inward step or raise an arm slightly to touch. F’lix hadn’t bothered with personal space. So why should he?

Vanityqueen, Simper crooned lovingly at the glowing green as she joined him – bit him. His tail curled around her front leg, but not tightly enough that she couldn't shake him off if she so pleased. Anything for her. The blue rubbed the top of his head against the underside of her chin – a gentle attention to praise her in silence. No be upset. Too beautiful to be angry.
"Next time," F'lix echoed with a side-long glance at Sel'n. He made the pace slow with no set destination in mind. It was interesting the bubble of privacy a walking pair could get despite being surrounded by strangers. Drop his voice low enough for Sel'ns ears, but it would only be a murmur to anyone else. It quiet tone also did well to keep Sel'n close. Not that he actively needed to try, if the brownrider's brush of arm was any sort of sign. "What, pray tell, are you plotting for next time?"
F'lix's head tilted, slightly turning to bring his runnertail to touch against the shoulder away from Sel'n. A faint narrow to his eyes that was hard to read when the smile remained on his features. "Let him get in nice and close. Let him have a little fun so he feels confident with his superiority. Then it's just a matter of choosing a convenient moment to act." The soft quality of his tone helped to mask the touch of chill to the words, and his eyes were purposely set on the faces moving past them.
Humming thoughtfully, F'lix turned his gaze back onto the brownrider. "I wouldn't kill him, if that's a concern of yours." He lightly shrugged one shoulder, coming to a pause at a cross-section within the gather. F'lix let his arms cross loosely over his stomach as he pivoted on heel to fully face Sel'n. "I've done my browsing. So if you want to go somewhere.. " He made a leading motion with his hand to finish off the sentence. "Unless you are saving your tricks for next time."

Simpers attentions distracted Vanity from her angry musings. Giving a final half hearted frill at F’lix she curled her tail around the blue. Yes truth does speak. No need be angry. Shifting her glowing form she crooned softly to her new slavepet. Yes Simper served his purpose very well. Claimed he was.
Sel’n divided his time between watching F’lix and making sure his harpy behaved. The urge to bite the bluerider had been strong a minute ago but now Vanity seemed content to just curl around his pet and claim him instead. Which in turn made him want to touch F’lix. Not a good thing probably. At least judging from the way the younger rider moved his runner tail out of reach. Ah not allowed to touch the hair. It seemed the bluerider was allowed to touch but the same was not appreciated. The quiet tone was noted and the Weyrlingmaster didn’t mind having the need for close proximity to hear. Even if touching was not allowed.
“If I told you what I was plotting there wouldn’t be a point F’lix. Surely you can see that?” He gave the blue rider a slight smile. “May be weeks from now may be months but you’ll see me again.” Sel’n trailed off then as his companion started explaining his way to dealing with the holder. Hmm might have been interesting to see. Then again with the previous fight bloodshed would not be looked kindly upon. Especially not at Southern. Was best that he had taken care of it the way he had.
The brownrider’s hand went to his bag as the bluerider suddenly stopped. Giving a light smile he shrugged. “I’ve already done my shopping for the day. You can take your gift and go if you want.” He stepped forward and winked. “If not your welcome to just wander with me. I’ll be leaving in a few hours but I might as well enjoy my freedom while I have it. Hepaticath’s eggs won’t harden forever.” As for his tricks. Well he’d keep the rider guessing. It was more fun that way. Vanity gave a croon at that and spoke in a silky tone to F’lix. Keep you guessing.

A mild shrug in response. "Just seeing if I could get a hint to what might be brewing inside that head of yours." Albeit, if F'lix had make a guess he'd say Sel'n didn't have any present plans concerning the future. The brownrider could be cryptic and redirect questions all he wanted. F'lix would go along with it, at least for a certain amount of time. He wasn't oblivious to Sel'n's shielding mannerisms. Acting like he was open but being so very much closed off – which again was fine, F'lix gave people the right to keep their internal musings to themselves. Of course, his curiosity about what was behind those masks was an entirely different matter..
"Maybe it won't be until the next gather." Flix lightly shook his head, tsking playfully at his walking companion. "Makes me wonder where you keep yourself when not teaching the weyrlings. Never seen you out and about, never cross your path in the jungle, is that you hold yourself up your weyr when not filling the weyrlingmaster role?"
No question, or suspicious look to the explaination. F'lix let a humorless smile briefly form on his lips before moving on to the next subject. "I'll take my leave now, before you bore of my company." He had a very bored and restless weyrmate back at Selenitas, after all. Best to buy that scope thingy, head back and fess up to breaking the old one. "Keep the gift, it can be a joke between us. When I need a headache to go away, maybe I'll come find you."
Golden eyes shifted side-long to the green salamandyr occupying his shoulder. F'lix tilted his head away from her, holding up his hand with fingers moving apart in a gesture for Sel'n to retrieve his harpy pet. He certainly wasn't going to touch another person's salamandyr – unless it was to smack it across the room, of course.
