"I feel th'Weyrwoman is at Feast now. Th'Weyr could use a prick." Walking out the door, Uu'n tucked his thumbs into his pants and whistled tunelessly, leaving blood on the grass. He made his way to the nearest water, and nonchalantly rinsed off his arms and removed his shoes--luckily, they were the horrible sandals Candidates had to wear, and not like to be missed. These he chucked far out into the Weyrlake, where they sank like stones, leaving a smudge of red which quickly dissipated. It didn't really matter much to him if Z'hin was going to come with him. One wild-eyed young man running into a Feast and yelling that he'd been attacked in the Candidate Barracks, with enough blood on him to prove it, would be enough to send the Weyr into an uproar.
And uproars did tend to make for good thieving... but no. He was a weyrling now, and needed to stay with Adith while the "upper echelon" dealt with the mess the Bitran Lord had created. Uu'n went back to Z'hin after cleaning his blades off with some sand and re-sheathing them, making him look like any other weyrling again, albeit a slightly bloodied one. "Want t'come? The pretties'll dance."
((guh, sucky.))

As much as he could mire through Uu'n's accent, Z'hin always found himself just standing and staring for a few seconds, trying to understand just what it was the other weyrling was trying to say. Not so sure that the weyr really did need any more excitement than they already had, he shifted from foot to foot. His eyes were drawn to the blood as the sandles sunk into the river. He'd seen a lot, in his eighteen turns of wandering, but now that the adrenaline had slowed in his veins the brownweyrling was beginning to feel vaguely ill. Seven dead men. Men who would have slit his throat as soon as looked at him - had tried to do just that. Z'hin knew he was going into shock, but somehow that didn't help at all; he couldn't stop the shivering.
He couldn't understand how Uu'n could be so calm. Unlike Bitra, Z'hin had never seen the mines, had never even really heard much about what went on there. He knew that was where the blueweyrling hailed from. Either Uu'n was born to handle situations like this without batting an eye, or the mines were just as horrible as that rat's den of a hold. At the other boy's question, he shook his head. No. He was already edging toward hysteria, and the feast would surely push him over the edge into outright, senseless terror. Z'hin wasn't equipped to handle large crowds on the best of days.
"You go ahead." He attempted a smile, the expression rather weak. "I'll - " He'd what? Z'hin's mind was drawing a blank. He just wanted to be away from here and the stench of death. Without another word, he turned, moving away as he fought to keep the contents of his stomach down. He'd never killed a man before - directly or indirectly.

"Suit yahzelf." The bloodied and lightly injured Candidate sauntered towards the main caverns...
