Phremath’s obvious return to good mood was more than enough to settle Kaaoloth. Yes this was a much better version of the normally exuberant green. His wings continued to flare for as long as she watched him until with an amused croon he folded them back along his ridges and made a show of paying strict attention to her. The attention really wasn’t farced. Although the large male had little care for the topic of butterflies to see the green hop and cavort around like she was refreshing in a way and certainly a bit amusing. She had a mastery of control on solid ground that he could never hope to aspire to.
With a surprised rumble in his chest at the pounce, the brown’s eyes whirled in blues to match. Very sneaky indeed. And it seems very clever as well. Trying to plan out another creature’s movements is never a sure thing. No because even if you thought you knew what they were going to do they often surprised you. With butterflies there was little in the way of muscle to watch and plan from either. Ah but he was thinking off topic. Setting his mind firmly back on it for the sake of his wonderful company Kaaoloth crooned. You sound very wise and learned in the way of catching the flutterbyes. Tell me my Phremath are you a master flutterbye catcher yet?
Sel’n had let Kalierre go on out of amusement. He liked hearing her return remarks. They were often quite interesting and sometimes followed with a glare or another form of nonverbal communication. Despite his own lack of expression the older man often found other people’s expressions something worth watching for. That was before though. Now he was sprawled on his back amidst chaos and she was laughing at him. Wicked woman. Not even an ‘are you okay?' To which his shoulder screamed in certain answer no, he was not completely okay. Landed or hit something wrong on the way down. The brownrider narrowed his eyes on the Dragonhealer as she prodded him unmercifully, insulted him, and then took his wine and began to try to run away of all things. Did Kalierre really honestly think that he was just going to let her get away with any of that? If he was being honest with himself she probably did. He wasn’t exactly the retaliatory type. At least not with any consistency.
Wincing as he sat up Sel’n examined his tied laces with a frown. Now how in Faranth’s golden… Ugly! The sudden furious outburst from Vanity answered the brownrider’s question and despite the pain in his shoulder he quickly set to working out his laces and fixing them right. Damn Bipedal menace. Stupid mandyrs. His green seemed less than pleased for her trip as well. Not only had it forced her to be displaced from her mate in order to glide to safety but the scenario had caused hers discomfort as well. Thus a quite pissed Vanity made a beeline for Fury, her intention to punish the other green for her audacity.
Sel’n thought maybe to grab his mandyr as she skittered past, but in the end he let her go. Mandyrs would be mandyrs and he never had much success talking her down before they got separated. Why would now be any different? No the older man decided to let Lust deal with the greens. He had a Kalierre to attend to. She hadn’t hobbled all that far after all. He had plans for her.
Getting to his feet, with laces now correctly fixed, the brownrider actually ran after the limping woman. Gaining on her in decent time he growled. “Where do you think you’re going?” With that Sel’n made to actually scoop Kalierre up ignoring the protest from his shoulder and any she might voice herself. Shoulder wasn’t that bad and by this time he was used to the Dragonlady’s abuse. Wasn’t the first time he had been subjected to her ire. “I’m not done with you yet.”
With that Sel’n turned and started to make his way back through the gather, a destination clearly in mind. If she wanted to strike him with that cane Kalierre could go right ahead. This time she wasn’t getting her way. Thus decided he purposely jostled her to throw off any strike he might aim at him. It helped that the brownrider was rather tall. Getting to certain areas would be hard for the healer and he rather thought she wouldn’t risk tripping him up and causing them both to hit the ground. “So what do you think I should do with you?” Might as well throw her a little of a bone, although Sel’n certainly had no plans to actually listen to her.

Phremath knew that he was watching her intently, and this delighted her. Such a good student he was of the art of flutterbye catching! (No, she would never have thought any dragon might choose to watch her simply because of her. Phremath knew her deformity made her ugly...was reminded of it daily by all those who looked at her like she was subpar. Which she was, compared to them.)
The green ceased her antics at his compliment disguised as a question, her head swiveling toward him and the pinkish-red that indicated embarrassment surfacing quickly in the swirl of her eyes. Oh, no, I'm certainly not a master! she told him earnestly. It takes me a long time to catch one, and often I don't catch them at all. They are very tricksy!
Naturally, delighted as she may have been with her handiwork, the little green 'mandyr did not place this above Hers. Nothing was as important as protecting Hers, after all. Thus she had already moved to begin trotting after her limping mindmate when Vanity charged her. Scornful amusement greeted the charge as the bipedal green hopped to one side and slapped the mandyr that shot past with her tail.
Lust, for his part, wasn't at all happy with Fury, either. But he happened to be attached to her through His. It did him little good to squabble physically with Fury - or allow the Greenqueen to. Not worth bother. Lesser thing, he told his mate soothingly, even as he half-tackled her himself. Licked at her frill and twined his tail with hers. Come, Greenqueen. Find quiet place away from stupids.
Of all the things she might have expected, Sel'n's pursuit of her was not one of them. Kalierre let out a small yelp when he scooped her up while hardly slowing in his run, the woman clinging to him for a few precious moments as the world decided to tilt around her. Utterly ridiculous. What was it about crippled women that made them irresistable to men when it came to snatching them up of their feet?
And now jostling her around deliberately on top of it. "Hell if I know. You're the one sprinting around like a madman and trying to jostle my eyeballs out of my head." So saying, the still very much irritated woman upended the bottle of wine over his head, gifting him with a satisfied smile. (Of course, she only used enough to make her point. No sense in wasting too much on it.)

Kaaoloth couldn’t help it, Phremath’s sudden pause and the mild embarrassment whirling through her eyes caused him to rumble. Not nice to laugh at others but he was laughing more at her reactions then her. She reminded him of the little ones. Rocking to his feet the brown awkwardly hopped towards the green a croon in his throat. No? Not a master? Well then tell me this. If I catch you is that akin to catching a flutterbye? Or does that just make me a Phremath catcher? With that he lunged forward towards her, swinging his tail in the other direction to try and corral her in the semi circle shape his body took.
Eyes whirling in bright blues Kaaoloth snaked his head towards the green and slowly advanced, eyes fixing on her legs. Been awhile since he did something as silly as play. Perhaps it was the playful mood coursing off his or maybe he was just tired of being so serious all the time. Whatever it was the brown had finally decided that awkward or not he was going to attempt to ‘catch’ his friend. Kaaoloth was well aware of the fact that catching Phremath would be a fluke at best. She was much too quick and surefooted, as she had just displayed, and him far too awkward. But at the very least it should entertain her?
As she lunged for the other green and missed Vanity’s frill extended and she hissed in fury, immediately whipping around to snap for the offending tail. But before she could sink her teeth into it a larger and heavier metallic body crashed into her from the side. The mandyr’s teeth snapped on only air, a scornful spitting hiss leaving her throat before she was pinned beneath her mate. Crimson eyes regarded Lust for a moment before Vanity’s frill trembled and the colors of her gaze became more muted and started to change. She submitted to the lick and twining with a quiet chirp and then nudged up under the bronze’s throat affectionately. Oh she very much still wanted to punish Fury for what, in her mind, equated to an attack against hers and thus herself. However Lust’s words dampened the desire into something manageable. Finally the female submitted to her mate and with a gentle nibble to his frill closed her own and agreed. Yes. No worth. A look shot Fury before she butted her head up against her mate’s jaw. Quiet, no stupids. Only Lustking. Muchly desired. Yes she had had quite enough of the stupids for the day.
Couldn’t really lie. The yelp Kalierre uttered was completely satisfying. Sel’n rather liked the noise. Maybe he could make her do it again. Weaving through a few people that had gotten in his way he snorted at her words. “If my training is to be remembered it’s not all that easy to jostle eyeballs out of one’s head. I think you’re safe.” Before the brownrider could comment further through the woman had doused his head with wine. With a snort he shook his head and licked a bit off his lips. “Wasteful harlot. What are you trying to do? Christen me? Do I look like a ship to you?” Pivoting he made his way to his final destination, tossed some marks to the blinking bathhouse attendant, and slipped past the man and the fence and towards the pools.
“And now we cast off.” With that simple statement Sel’n simply trotted to the rim of one of the hot spring pools and with a wide smile tossed Kalierre in. Watching her carefully not only for her expression but to make sure she was okay when she finally broke the surface again. That’s what she got for stealing his wine, laughing at him, dumping said stolen wine over his head, and well he was sure there was something else. Any comments or attacks from Fury were ignored completely. Not as if something the size of a bug was much of a threat, although he did make a mental note to watch his bootlaces around her from now on.

Kaoloth's hop toward her caused Phremath to hop once in place, either out of surprise or curiosity, it was hard to say. She was still evincing the faint pink of surprise in her eyes, after all. The green scrunched down as he began speaking in his playful tone, forelegs bent and hind legs still straight, her rear wriggling much like that of an eager puppy as her tail swept back and forth.
A Phremath catcher, I think. But you woooon't! Of course, Phremath was a very nice green, and she didn't wish to make it unfair, so she lifted one of her forelegs. There, now they had the same number of legs! Phremath edged backwards, stumbling a little with this strange gait she wasn't used to. Then she whirled and promptly tumbled, picking herself up in a scramble and attempting to run three-legged. Her legs were getting all mixed up, but she managed not to suffer another spill. Just yet.
While Lust saw to placating his Greenqueen and finding a suitable place safe - and away from stupids - for a pair of mandyrs, Fury was unsurprisingly lunging at Sel'n's legs in an attempt to shred them to little bits. But, not liking to climb, the green didn't get much higher than ankle height with her leaps, focusing instead on the nasty laces. Her claws were beginning to seriously shred them to the point of unraveling when...
"You're certainly large enough to be a ship, porker," Kalierre spat. Oh, not pleased at all, was she? "I said you were trying to. Not my fault if you're too stupid to realize you can't." Wriggling as much as the pain shooting through her jostled hip would allow her without making her inclined to break the bottle over his head and use the jagged end to slit his throat, she opened her mouth to shoot more vitriol at him. And was promptly dumped into the water.
Kalierre came up spluttering, her hair plastered against her head and mostly obscuring her face. The woman slowly pushed one side of her hair out of her eyes, revealing two very unamused eyes narrowed into glaring slits. Manhandling was not something she appreciated. Kidnapping she was fine with if people were reasonably considerate of her, but not this.
The bottle went flying at a speed and accuracy that indicated she was not joking right at Sel'n's face.

Phremath’s hop caused Kaaoloth to croon. He was going to geeeeeet her. Eyes whirling in happy blues he rumbled playfully as the green play bowed and wiggled her rear. His own tail tip twitched in response as his friend spoke. A Phremath catcher. Hmm. Sounds like a worthy title to have. With that the brown continued to advance. Oh but I think I caaaaaan. He responded and then gave a deep rumbling laugh as she picked up one of her forelegs. Making it even now was she? Oh that was just completely adorable. Kaaoloth advanced with more pronounced intent as Phremath edged backwards and stumbled.
Ah but he was used to doing this by now. Had been doing it for years. Advantage Kaaoloth. The large brown lunged for the smaller Phremath as she turned and took her tumble, but he was a bit too slow and the energetic little thing was on her feet and attempting to bound away on her three legs before be could gather himself for another try. With a soft playful trill the male leapt after her, seeing to playfully tackle the green before she gained too much distance on him.
Whoops and here Sel’n thought he was doing a good job at being playful. Although Kalierre’s barbed insults were easy to ignore, that glare was another matter. He had obviously upset her a good deal. Which obviously wasn’t his intention. Not at all. The older rider had just opened his mouth to apologize when she chucked the wine bottle right at his head. Good aim she had too. Had Sel’n not been used to ducking randomly flying objects he very well would have caught that right in the face. As it was it merely clipped the side of his head and proceeded to shatter against the fence behind him.
Raising one eyebrow he turned back to the water logged Dragonhealer. “Tch waste of such good wine. Was that really worth trying to knock me out cold Kals?” His voice came out soft as he rubbed the side of his head and proceeded to merely hop into the pool completely clothed as well. Making his way over to Kalierre and, approaching her like one might a particularly unstable and nasty canine, Sel’n gave an apologetic smile.
“Alright I admit maybe I went a bit over the top. If you promise not to beat me too badly I’ll make it up to you? I swear.” By this point the rider had gotten close to her and although he was confident that he could overpower the woman if necessary he’d rather not have to. “Come on Kals. I was only trying to have some fun. Besides you look adorable right now. Even if you do look pissed as hell.” Sel'n kept his voice low and caressing as he reached out to try and tug her against him. "I haven’t seen you in far too long. Give this old idiot a break eh? I’ll even buy you more wine.” Flicking a stand of water logged hair from her face he chuckled. “You’d make a nice drunken mermaid.”

The little green knew that she was in very immediate danger of being caught by a Kaaoloth. This three-legged thing was much harder than it looked! He made it seem so easy, but nope, they didn't like to move quite right when there was only three of them. Don't think so, the small dragon teased back, as she attempted a swift turn and ended up rolling in the grass.
She barely managed to regain her feet before the brown was upon her, managing to slip away from him but definitely feeling his warmth in passing. By then, however, he'd gained on her and it was only a matter of seconds before he had her pinned in the tall grasses. Phremath nuzzled his neck and wriggled under him to get herself more comfortable. He certainly made a nice Kaaoloth blanket. So I suppose you're a Phremath catcher after all, she commented with some amusement.
The green was definitely ignoring her rider, though Fury was not. Nor was she happy that the faceplant man had thrown Hers were she couldn't follow and had gone in after her. After a few irritated hisses and hopping about in a small tantrum, the green slunk away to conceal herself, eyes slitted and whirling in angry reds as they focused on the man and Hers. He would pay. That he most certainly would.
Kalierre's glare of death didn't soften any. If anything she was just annoyed she'd missed, particularly at his superior expression. Was it worth it? No, but it would have been if she'd got him directly in the face like she'd wanted to. The dragonhealer stepped back and away from him as he advanced, though not as quickly as he was moving forward; sodden clothes and being waist deep in water was not a good combination for a hasty retreat when you had a crippled hip.
Okay, she was not an animal to be soothed by sweet tones. (Despite that thought, Kalierre let him tug her in close, even if the glare hadn't diminished much.) "I'm hardly drunk," she grumbled tempramentally, but you certainly didn't hear her arguing about his buying her more wine. "Or even tipsy. You should fix that," she added, glancing sidelong at him.
Then she let go of her anger enough to lean against him, if only to take the weight off a hip that was now doing a nice, pulsating throb. Fun. "Stop hurting me, you stupid lug," she commanded, without any hint of the earlier bite. "Then maybe I'll stop trying to give you concussions." Though, really, to be fair...most people didn't know that her hip was as bad as it was. Kalierre didn't think it was any of their business.

Kaaoloth was having more fun with this then he could ever remember having in a long time. Too much seriousness where he was living currently. Leaping for Phremath he rumbled as she managed to slip away from him by only a small distance. Rearing up and pivoting to turn he sprung forward with a mighty push from his muscled hindquarters and half beat his wings to take some of the impact off his single foreleg. Two more such bounds and the brown was upon her. Pinning the smaller green to the tall grass beneath him, he rumbled in amusement and happiness his muzzle dipping so he could nuzzle her all over affectionately.
Indeed. It would seem I am indeed a Phremath catcher. Hmm. Now what to do with my prize? He mused, not bothering to try and hide his amusement. Should I eat her? Kaaoloth’s tongue darted out to lick at his friend’s neck. Or should I squish her? His bulk settled more comfortabley on her, although he was very careful not to squish her. Or should I keep her forever and ever? Hmm. So many options. I think I’ll just enjoy her wonderful company for awhile before I let her go. Moving more of his bulk off her the brown half sprawled on her and covered her with an extended wing as he nuzzled her gently. Oh yes he was going to be very sad when he had to leave.
Oh she was trying to run from him. Really? Sel’n did well to keep the amusement off his face at the futile action. He took the fact that she didn’t fight his proximity as a good sign. Her grumbles pushed aside as basically vintage Kals. He seemed to be forgiven then. Maybe. The brownrider chuckled and kissed the top of the greenrider’s head. “Yes. I will have to fix that. Wouldn’t want you actually sober. That would be just terrible.” He murmured in amusement fingers playing with the hem of her shirt. “I promise to get you nice and wasted later if you’ll promise not to chuck anymore bottles I buy at my head.”
Sel’n shifted to take on more of Kalierre’s weight as she leaned against him his arms winding about her to hold her there. An apologetic look was given the woman in his arms after her command. “Sorry Kals. Guess I should pay better attention.” He honestly hadn’t meant to hurt her. Sometimes the older rider forgot about her handicap despite the limp. She hardly ever complained about it after all. “Sounds like a fair trade to me.” A hand tangled in her wet hair before he leaned down to kiss her gently. “Guess this means I should start trying to make my idiocy up to you hmm?” He intoned playfully his other hand rubbing at the small of her back. “I did pay for baths after all. What say you mermaid?”

No, no, no! she cried, squirming much like a very large green-colored worm beneath him. I definitely am not very tasty. I promise. I'd make you blechy sick. Do you want to be blechy sick? It's even worse than the normal kind of sick... But it seemed that Kaaoloth had an answer to that as well, and a pancake Phremath didn't sound much better than a Kaaoloth dinner Phremath. The small green whined in protest. (She might have wriggled more, but Kaaoloth was a heavy Kaaoloth.)
It seemed he must have changed his mind about making a flat Phremath out of her and the green nuzzled her brown friend in gratitude. She relaxed enough to actually enjoy her sprawl half-beneath him. Yes, you have to go back to the other place. While there was no bitterness in the words, she definitely sounded a bit subdued. And maybe, just maybe, a tad distrusting of this excuse. Kaaoloth was not the first to just go away without explanation, after all, even if she couldn't remember the names of the others.
"All right, then," she grumbled under her breath. "Bottles other people buy it is." Oh yes, she was bound and determined to not let him off the hook too terribly easily. This is how her minions learned, by feeling her wrath, and if they didn't feel it adequately the fear of her wrath would vanish and then they'd realize she was really just a crippled woman in her early 30's with a sharp tongue. Harmless in other words. That was unacceptable.
He at least had the grace to apologize, though. (She was still waiting on his apology for what had originally annoyed her, however. Was he really denying her?) Since he was being so nice in trying to make it up to her however and she wasn't likely to be snuggled with or doused in buckets of wine if she continued her hissy Kalierre decided to let it go for now and milk this baby.
Was that a kiss? She'd take a kiss. The dragonhealer returned it lightly, her head tilting slightly to one side. "Baths. Why should baths cost anything?" Kalierre wrinkled her nose. Her vagabond upbringing was clearly showing now. A Holder would certainly know that there was more to a bath than simply washing, if you had the coin.

Yes back to the other place. Kaaoloth repeated softly, still nuzzling along Phremath’s back in affection. The emotion to her tone had not escaped him and although he wished he could reassure her with promises that he would see her again he could not. Because there was a very good chance that he never would. To promise her such things would be beyond cruel. So in the end the large brown simply snuggled the small green close and said nothing. Better to enjoy her proximity and warmth now while he had her here with him again. I much enjoy being a Phremath catcher you know. I will wear this title with pride. A soft rumble sounded in his chest before he rested his head gently on her back and half lidded his eyes.
Sel’n smiled and tightened his grip on Kalierre when she submitted to his offer. Yes he would use his sparse amount of marks to at least buy her a bottle or two. Worth the loss in the end. Her grumbles he had missed. Certainly more than he had expected. But then the sometimes frustrating woman was one of his few close friends. Few and far between the brownrider’s friends tended to be and so the ones he did have he liked to keep close. Vanity’s influence perhaps only compounded his desire to be close to Kalierre but to be honest Sel’n really didn’t mind. Not one bit.
A warm smile was given to the woman in his arms after she returned his kiss and Sel’n chuckled when she finally spoke. “You’re right baths shouldn’t cost anything. But this just isn’t an ordinary bath silly.” Brushing her damp hair back behind her ears he smiled. “I paid for more then just warm water.” A glance was given the holder that was standing and shifting a bit awkwardly near the pool they were in.
“I actually paid for a massage. Well for you actually. I think he’s here to collect you now. Don’t scare him off now. I trust you’ll come back to me, if only because I promised to water you afterwards.” With a slightly lopsided grin the brownrider dipped his head to kiss Kalierre again, this time lingeringly. “If you don’t come back I’ll just have to hunt you down I suppose….” He murmured softly before dropping his arms from around her.
