Eikask watched her males begin their task with interest, although she wasn't simply spectating. She'd picked the match up carefully, despite it having been a sudden decision. She didn't want her young baby to face a wildling. Assuming the brown did obey the 'no teeth or claws' rule, he was experienced enough living in the wild that he could probably still do some damage. She also hadn't wanted Darmosk up against his sire though she'd have preferred Roisk against the Wildling. She huffed as she watched Pidesk and Wildling's duel in particular.
Dmisk, however, claimed all her attention in the next moment. Unlike her brother, Eikask didn't bother to hide her emotions. Or rather, in most cases, she simply couldn't. She hissed in mild displeasure and her eyes flashed red but there was no fear. Oops, had she annoyed her brother by excluding him? she responded, partially mocking. While she couldn't read her blue brother very well (if at all) she did understand the complexities of emotions and she knew what could possibly get such a reaction out of someone.
He didn't scare everyone, Eikask told the blue. She need not fear him forcing a catch on her. Was it not also his goal to have big, strong clutches? That was something a blue like him couldn't provide. Also...could he not count? With five chasers present who exactly could he fight? With a snort the queen ordered the blue to release her so she could continue watching for foul play. It was almost time to call an end to the fun anyways. She would have to make her choice soon and to do that she needed to see her males. After watching a while longer she let out a few loud barks. Game over.
The various reactions of the males fawning over his touch did much for the gold. That's right. This was his domain and everyone present belonged to him. On top of that he finally got to see and hear Roivao do something, although Dmitri came into the picture then. "Hmph. If you were going to do something, shouldn't you have done it sooner?" Where had his attention been for all that time? Eikane allowed the blue to lead the dance for a while before forcibly stopping it. "Satisfied, brother?"

In his excitement it was a fair thing to say that Darmosk wasn’t paying the least bit of attention to his opponents actual movements. Nope not at all. He was running on pure joy and adrenaline. On top of that this whole test of strength thing reminded him so much of the moonlight games he liked to try and lure the other whers into playing with him. So was it any wonder he was on cloud nine so to speak? Who didn’t love a good wrestling match? Plus Roisk! He got to play with Roisk who was just one of his favorite older whers ever. Oh the young bronze loved all the older whers but the older scared bronze would play with him from time to time, plus he was also a fellow kiwi picker. Darmosk’s excitement was translated into the way his tail wagged and the obvious excitement in his bark as he flung himself nearly full force into the other large bronze.
The impact of the two large males against each other shook both whers. However it was quite obvious in the next few minutes who had the upper hand and Darmosk gave a bark of confusion as he felt himself being lifted onto his hind legs. Trying to recover, most unsuccessfully, he was pushed back towards his line. Forepaws sought to get a grip on Roisk as back talons dug deep into the earth. Oh dear. This was not good. The young bronze tried to use his grip around the older bronze’s neck to possibly tip the other to the side, but Roisk was solid and it proved to be unsuccessful. Digging deep Darmosk growled playfully and finally managed to stop his backwards momentum, although it was a close thing and he was very near the line. Perhaps just a few inches off in fact. Muscles strained as he tried to push his opponent back with sheer determination, sides heaving as he panted.
Then Eikask gave her commanding barks and Darmosk ceased and disengaged from Roisk. As he got all four feet back onto the ground he rubbed his head against the other bronze’s shoulder in affectionate camaraderie. That was fun wasn’t it?
Darmori tilted his head and watched as Roisk made the music and Dmitri and Eikane danced. It seemed over all too soon but nevertheless the young boy crooned his excitement bouncing on the balls off his feet as he awaited the golds next command.

The Tiger brown had noticed Pidesk’s hesitation and it caused an amused growl to emerge from somewhere deep in his chest. Was the bronze uncomfortable? It was curious to him to see the hesitation, but not unexpected. The scared wilding knew he cut an imposing figure. Fixing his gaze on the other male the brown steadied himself and waited. He was well used to altercation by this point. After nearly seven turns of living in the wilderness he had had his fair share of scraps and battles. The scars that marred his hide, interdispersed amongst his normal striped patterning, where the clear evidence of that fact. It was kill or be killed. Eat or be eaten. He wasn’t afraid nor worried about the bronze. Quite the opposite, he relished the chance to pit himself against him. Despite the annoyance of being denied his teeth and claws.
Lowering his head the wildling waited, tracking the other male’s movements. It was actually a rather simple trick that Pidesk pulled and the brown was ready for it. Lowering his shoulder toward the other wher and leveling his weight the Tiger brown swung his large head at the same time, seeking to use it as a battering ram against the bronze. Faster Pidesk may be but at such close quarters it wouldn’t do much for him. If the brown could get in a few solid hits he knew he would come out on top. Sometimes the best defense was a good offense. As the other wher rolled away the wild wher swung his hind quarters at him seeking to get a solid hit with his thick muscular tail. He proceeded to advance this way, absorbing or deflecting blows with the thicker less vulnerable parts of his body and striking back with vicious and clear intent at every opening provided for him. He meant to press the bronze that was for sure. It still was a pity his weapons where denied him though. The ability to draw ichor took it all to another level.
As Eikask’s barks rang out the Tiger brown disengaged from his opponent, giving Pidesk a toothy grin although there was no malice behind it. The brown had actually enjoyed himself a bit and the bronze had proven to be at least a decent opponent. Shaking from head to toe he snorted to clear his nostrils and turned his attention back towards the gold. Not without making sure he could clearly see the rest of the males as well of course.

The impact was jarring, and Roisk's muscle strained to take the stress. For a tense moment the two bronzes tested their strength against the other. Roisk felt a rumble of appreciate for his young friend's efforts. Darmosk was a wonderful playmate and a strong competitor. Even so, Roisk knew that his enthusiasm was getting the better of him. Claws digging into the floor, Roisk pressed his advantage until he succeeded in over balancing the younger male. Eyes sparked playfully at Darmosk's surprise and attempts to drive him back. Roisk held fast, using his back legs to add power to his charge.
He was surprised and pleased when Darmosk was able to hold him back in time not to cross his line. Truly he was a worthy match, Roisk thought with approval. Before long the younger bronze would probably best him easily. Indeed, Roisk had to strain to keep Darmosk's counter attack from pushing him back more than a few inches. Almost too soon, Eikask gave the signal to halt and Roisk pulled away from his opponent. Rumbling deep in his throat, Roisk returned Darmosk affection with a playful bat of one wing. Indeed it had been fun! They aught to practice together sometime when less was at stake. Now, however, all attention was returned to the beautiful queen. What would she wish of them next?
Roivao shrugged amiably when Dmitri stepped forward to dance. He really didn't mind sharing Eikane's attention for the moment. This was the gold's room and his chase, after all and what he wanted matter above all else. He kept whistling until they finished, smiling willingly when he was done. He wasn't really sure what else he could do, but at least he hadn't made a complete fool of himself. Even if he had been a bit late to think of it.

Pidesk took the Brown's head in his side with an audible huff, glad he'd planned a roll into his attack. As it was he skidded further than he'd expected to, scrambling to his feet just in time to launch himself off the ground, clearing the tail swipe with a flap of his wings. Landing to one side of the brown, Pidesk kept up the attack, proceeding carefully and avoiding any outright contests of strength. No teeth, no claws; and while the tiger-striped brown landed a few solid hits of his own, so did Pidesk. When Eikask called the contest off, Pidesk hadn't lost more than a foot or two of ground, although it was clear that in a violent confrontation, the winner would be a not be Bronze.
Dmisk's proximity to the Queen startled Pidesk when he finally de-tangled himself, looping out and away to subtly check on Roisk and Darmosk. It looked like everyone had come out unscathed, but why had Dmisk gone within catching distance without the Queen's invitation? Pidesk had little opinion, good or bad, about the Blue - he was there, and he performed his duties admirably, but no one was really Dmisk's friend. Not even his clutchmates, those he was closest to, seemed to really know the creature. Any other time, the Bronze would have left well enough alone, not wishing to anger anyone... but Dmisk was trying to take Eikask without her permission (or at least was threatening to - just as bad, in Pidesk's mind, with or without intent). The left side of his mouth pulled up in a silent snarl, the hint of a threatening growl starting very, very deep in his throat.
Whatever sound might have come out was cut off as soon as Pidesk realized what he was doing, though. He consciously relaxed his stance, shaking himself all over as Eikask looked them over again. He couldn't help but take a step towards the invading Blue, though, although it was no longer as a threat. Instead it was somewhat uncertain, and he looked to Eikask for guidance. Was the Blue allowed to be so close?
Piden mirrored his Wher far more strongly than usual. While he didn't feel the need to take anyone out - and Tiger didn't have a counterpart here anyway - Dmisk's dance did not go unnoticed. Not his place. Angry. The human really did growl, although it was a low sound, mostly covered up by Roisk's whistle. As soon as Eikask stopped the dance, Pidesk came up next to her, claiming the place he had been allowed earlier. Dmisk got a glare, and Eikask got a feather-light touch to the waist - he was here, if she needed him. He doubted she would, but this was his place. For now, anyway.

The blue's eyes slitted slightly. Oh, he could count. And he could force her pick however he chose, just as he'd proven last time. But Dmisk's response to Eikask was lighter. Oh, his bad. He thought she'd paired the others off because she wanted to wrestle with him. His tone was just as mocking as hers.
He withdrew from Eikask and parted his jaws in a wherish smile at Pidesk. Looks like your last charity case thinks he owns you, sister dearest, he added to her privately. Or perhaps you think he just means to protect you from big bad brother? Dmisk trotted a few paces away and fixed his attention on these other whers. It was the natural order of things, true enough, and he'd never fought that. The bronzes could have his sister. One day they might even get something benificial out of the inferior couplings.
A small twitch of the lips at Eikask's question. "Hardly." His eyes flicked to Piden, the smile turning more mocking. "But your shiny bronze seems to think he needs to defend your honor." Reaching out, he ruffled Piden's red hair. "Easy, boy. I don't count. Remember?" Dmitri stepped back with a perfunctory - and, yes, mocking - bow. Though to Eikask or Pidesk it was impossible to tell.

Eikask's only response to Dmisk was a dismissive snort. She had never really cared to have absolutely everyone happy with her at any given moment. So long as she was always their focus that was good enough for her. Granted, they were more useful to her if they adored her...Speaking of whers adoring her, she looked over her males and let out a slow huff. What was she to do with them? Sadly they had all done well enough in the strength challenge. Well, she supposed it was her right to nitpick.
Pidesk was quickly exlcuded when he showed posessiveness (although he might also only be trying to defend her honour, hmm). She didn't blame him for desiring her so badly that he'd try and protect her from Dmisk but she also didn't need that sort of thing in the weyr she envisioned. That and she probably never would settle to a single mate unless a truly worthy male showed up. Considering how the gold was, it was unlikely such a wher existed. The private communication from Dmisk was met with faint amusement. In her mind, it was the other way around. She owned Pidesk.
Eikask dipped her head in a silent answer to Pidesk's question. Yes, Dmisk was allowed to be so close. She did so like that idea...yes, brother dear was only able to be so clsoe to her because she allowed it. Darmosk was given a glance before she too dismissed the idea of him as a mate (however temporary that was). Too silly, though she secretly did like her son quite a bit. That left her with Roisk and the Wildling. She had grown to like the wild brown. Obedient, reliable, and strong. She could use more like him, yet she hesitated to pick him all the same.
She went amongst her males, leaning into and brushing up against them each before settling with Roisk. This was her choice. He was certainly strong and smart enough to work around his inability or desire not to glide. He also had wild blood, something Eikask actually valued, considering her origins. He would do, plus she could get to know him better and see what he could offer her.
Eikane felt a faint pressure and tilted his head to look at Piden. Heh. Dmitri was right. Amusing but uneccessary. Humouring the brother didn't derail the gold's plans too much. Eikane smiled at the chasers before moving towards his choice. Three things ultimately drew him to Roivao. Even under run lust, Eikane was drawn to music and so had been impressed by the whistled tune compared to the others. Eikask was also a huge influence. Lastly, it might even spite the blue brother some. After all, the blue had just danced to the bronze's tune.
