The angry whirls of red blended in with the joyous blues, making a lovely violet haze as Konstask ran through the dark woods. She cleared a fallen log, landing in a crouch to spring herself back into a quick sprint. It felt good to run off the irritation and only leave the bliss remain - although part of her was not aware of what her presence meant in all this business of a chase. The scent and warmth from Tekivisk leaving behind a trail she couldn't help but follow – to want to brush back up along Tekivisk and coil with her, dark and light, until they became the night they owned. It shouldn't be any other way.
Should it?
Whatever doubts Konstask might of had, were kept at bay by the gentle purple that continued to deepen in shades. The constant assurance from hers, mixed in with a desire of his own, only served to encourage her - convince her that here was where she belonged. Hers would never lie - to her.
Kostya continued to make his way down the hallway, a brow arching in silent commentary to Damori's enthusiastic cartwheel. He had seen runs and flights, watched a few of the oddities in people from afar as they mirrored their mindmates. His every curious mind - wanting to observe and study the others – quickly abandoned the notion at the sound of Vix's voice. A small lingering growl in the tone that was all Vix and not Ki. Did that mean he wasn't completely - for a lack of better word - gone?
The doubt was enough to slow Kostya to a brief pause. Until the smile; an expression he had never seen on the younger man. The single word even stranger, and Kostya did well not to let his features contort into confusion. In fact, with Konstask absolutely enthralled with a glowing Ki, the endearment made him purr on the inside and return the smile, tilting his own head to match the angle of Vix's. It was all the encouragement he needed to close the last bit of distance, brushing against Vix's arm as he moved up next to him.
He itched to touched, and he settled for brushing fingers down Vix's arm before casting a glance at the other chasers. Kostya didn't have his mind set on any outcome - at least any that he would like. Part of him very sure that Konstask couldn't catch Tekivisk as much as he willed her to keep chasing. Albeit, it wasn't so much as a chase as a run with her sister. She didn't need to catch what she already considered to be hers. So terribly tempting to twine his fingers with Vix's and lead him away from all the others. If only..
Konstask couldn't bring herself to be still, sliding back against Tekivisk and still moving on to pace almost impatiently around the spot. Why were they stopping? Her long tail undulated above her, the tip curving side to side in a unconscious miming of a question mark.

Riosk was pleased Eikask was taking this as well as she was. Little Tekivisk was such a darling and he was sure she would never oppose her mother openly. She was young, they all were really, and the thrill of the chase clouded many minds. Roisk flashed Pidesk a barking laugh of sympathy for his restriction. Poor fellow, to have such a possessive female. Perhaps it was well he had her and not Roisk after all. Then Tekivisk was running at last and all other concerns were forgotten.
Though she had shown no particular attention too him as yet, Roisk was still delighted to join the chase. It was so good to run! The moon, the stars, and the wind over his back felt so good. Tekivisk was a good runner too and so playful. Roisk's powerful legs kept up easily with the others and he gave a joyful howl. Wings, large enough to glide should he choose, flapped playfully at the other males. He wouldn't hurt them, but what was a Chase without a little challenge?
Roivao inched further down the hall until he was just short of the entrance. Casually, he leaned against one wall, nodding to Tekivix. His face was hard to read in the dark, but he smiled softly at the younger handler. Tiida was less than happy to be here. She hissed and frilled at everyone, daring them to come closer. She was quite determined to bit their noses off if they did. Precious mine! Stay away! Roi put a hand over her nose, but it did little to quiet her raging.

Vix's question got a shrug in return. He might be hers, he might not be - it didn't look like he got to make that choice. Still, his eyes flicked back to Eikane's door, the Bronzehandler's stance communicating how unapologetic he was about his split attention. He'd do whatever it took not to interrupt Tekivisk's run any further, even if that meant dropping out. Dropping out, however, would likely not be good for Eikane...
Like his handler, Pidesk wasn't going anywhere until the decision was made. Reaching his head out to the Gold, he nuzzled her where she showed him her scars, reassuring. Tekivisk would be too fast anyway, all the other greens were, he just liked to make them feel special. If she didn't want him to catch, he wouldn't - he'd drop out before the final decision was made. Above all, he was flattered that she felt the need to come stop him. Didn't she know that Bronzes hardly ever caught Greens?
With another gentle touch, Pidesk moved away, pausing to look back and shoot Eikask another wave of comfort. She asked, he would deliver. She could wait here or in her room, if she wanted, and he would return when it was all over, return to tell her the ending and prove his loyalty. For now, though, he was quickly being left behind, so with another apology he moved off, quickly moving from his shambling walk to a silky lope, picking up the pace as he disappeared into the forest. He hoped Eikask would forgive him - now that he thought about it, she had every right to be mad - but for now, instincts had taken over. It was Tekivisk he had to find, her he had to please... for now.
His paws beat out a three-beat tattoo on the jungle floor, his wings tucked as tight as he wove through trees and dodged low-hanging branches, doing his best to make up lost time. He arrived in the clearing to see Tekivisk's tail disappearing back into the jungle, the rest already setting off after her. Had she seen him? Did she know he was there? Should he tell her that he was?
Piden, for his part, stayed in the doorway, his eyes trained on Vix now. This would be an interesting balancing act.

Tekivisk's concern drew out a mixed whine and croon, the male nuzzling her briefly in reassurance. He was just fine, even though their dam was rather large and all her flailing limbs were pretty dangerous. (He'd nearly gotten a foot in the face, after all.) Inside, the little male was soaring. She'd touched him! Sure, it was because he was a klutz - though he was steadily convincing himself that it was not a mistake so much as a gallant rescue! - but still, the beautiful sister had touched him. Bouncing slightly in place, the male was only all too happy to take off after her. Though again he found that his slow (though graceful) lope was not going to be keeping up so well with his sisters.
Speaking of confusing, why were they both running on ahead like that? Not that Konstask wasn't very pretty, too, but he couldn't figure out if she was chasing Tekivisk or running with her. (In the end, he settled for simply deciding that his siblings liked playing tricks on him, and he'd figure it out eventually once this was all over. If it was important.) The blue, not wanting to be left behind, began employing his wings again, his speed increasing greatly while sacrificing much of his grace. It was an odd way to run, indeed, half-flying and half-running, but now he was gaining on them again, and he wanted nothing more than to watch the glowing beauty and her dark counterpoint as they disappeared into the foliage ahead.
Oh yes, the breeze certainly did feel so nice.
Ximera flinched, a sudden shiver causing her hands to go to her arms, eyes wide on Tekivix. She gave him a tentative, shy smile in return, before her eyes flicked uncertainly over the other handlers in the apartments. There was a reason she wasn't supposed to be here, she recalled, a very important reason, but Tekivix - and Kostya - were here. Both so pretty. One more than the other, of course, at least right now, but both so pretty, and how c0uld she be afraid of anything when Kostya and Tekivix were right there? Neither of them would ever hurt her. Right?
Darmori's cartwheel caught her attention and she jumped, a small squeak leaving her throat. No, he was the one she was running from! He'd told her to leave, and even though she couldn't remember why anymore, she did remember that much. The girl glanced around, toward the door of her room where she'd be safe from the bronze one, but then longingly toward the safety of Tekivix and Kostya. If only she wouldn't have to go closer to Darmori...Scrunching her eyes closed, she darted down the hall toward the scary, bumping into a solid body and huddling there. An eye was cracked open to be sure of who it was. Kostya, good, protector, lovely sister. She'd be safe here.
Her hand reached tentatively for Tekivix. Fingers splayed wide in a pleading gesture. Hold her hand? Please? She was scared. Her eyes drifted toward Darmori and she curled closer into Kostya's warmth.

Wanted to see, that was all, Tekivisk assured Konstask. Who was still with her—Darmosk and Konstask of course, and Roisk’s howl meant he was in too, didn’t it, and Ximesk and…the green hopped sideways around Roisk, jaws opening in a playful huff of breath at the bronze, to peer through the foliage curiously. And yes—Pidesk too. But not Eikask. Had she won, then? Anxiety briefly warred with triumph; she didn’t want to upset Eikask. Didn’t want to steal her male or anything, and Pidesk was hers, wasn’t he, but she was glad he’d come. Nice of him when she was so little in comparison to a gold. Tekivisk hopped backwards, tail wagging slowly from side to side, eyes briefly settling on Pidesk, lips pulling back into an almost-smile.
It was a moment only; the next second Tekivisk spun around again, burst into a headlong run through the trees. She paused to leap on top of a fallen log, allowing a change in direction so that she could balance on top of the log like it was a balance beam, leapt off at the end and circled around to the back of the males to take a playful nip at Roisk’s tail—he’d howled such a lovely tune for her, she’d dance for him—and to nudge her muzzle lightly against Ximesk’s flank, tongue flicking out to lick. So nice of all of them to come; she was so happy now that the energy had an outlet, somewhere to go.
Tekivisk didn’t linger long near the back, though, instead brushing around past Darmosk’s side (and she was avoiding Pidesk a little; she didn’t know how he stood with her yet and deciding was hard because some part of her still thought of him as Eikask’s and…she didn’t like Eikask right now) to join Konstask again. Her entire body rubbed against the darker green’s, a happy purr bubbling from her throat. Ducked under a tangle of vines at a steady run, claws digging into the dirt now that all of her runners were accounted for. Had touched or seen or noticed all of them—now they could just run, far away from the Weyr—from Eikask, from the newcomers that smelled so wrong—just away.
Almost unconsciously she picked up her pace as she rounded a large tree, tail twitching in a tease. Catch her if they could—she wasn’t the fastest out of aaaall of them, was she? Knew her sister had to be as quick, and surely the males could catch up—run faster, run faster. They’d have to be fast to catch up with the night, didn’t they know the stars and the skies didn’t wait for anyone?
Distracted by Darmori’s howl and cartwheel, Vix’s head snapped sideways, a pleased little smile crossing his lips. He leaned unconsciously into Kostya’s touch and proximity until he could bump his arm against the other greenhandler’s, not rubbing against him but just touching, not even registering it. Even if Vix wasn’t, Tekivisk was definitely comfortable cuddled up with Konstask—“’Mori,” and nothing more than just that, but the nickname was not one that Vix had ever used before other than in his head, and his tone was blatantly affectionate.
His eyes widened at Ximera’s sudden darting motion, a small noise of surprise dying in his throat before it had even begun to form into words when he registered just where she was going. Kostya. Vix’s expression turned into confusion at her clinging, a frown turning down the corners of his lips, the hand that reached for him caught up without hesitation. He squeezed slightly in reassurance, though exactly what she found frightening he didn’t know, promised, “It’s okay, ’s fine.” Automatically he stepped closer to both Kostya and Ximera, a physical attempt at hiding her, gaze sliding past Kostya to Roivao and Piden curiously, a touch of defiant irritation in his eyes—it didn’t register that she could possibly be frightened of Darmori, so it must be one of them.

Konstask flattened herself to the jungle floor, tail thumping against the soft mix of dirt and leaves as she watched her sister – her sweet and always too nice sister – make her rounds through all the chasers. The jeweled green made small whuffs to the grass as she waited every so patiently; even if her tail continued to twitch and she lifted her head in anticipation of the continued run. Her claws furrowed in the earth, rising to her feet only when Tekivisk again neared. Konstask absolutely loved the constant attention. She rested her muzzled on Tekivisk's back, letting the warm skin slid by as she inhaled deeply of her sister's scent.
The chase was on!
Konstask sprang after the glowing green with the others, easily putting her slender light frame to work as she spend in front of them all. They were both greens, they could easily lose all but their quicker blue brother in the brush of the jungle. Leave all those lumbering metallics behind. She darted opposite around the tree, cutting back around to cross sharply behind Konstask in a hop - remember the rocks? They could jump and clear the river at these speeds. Sail through the sky like only they could~
Kostya almost shot a glare down at the girl clinging to his waist. Instead he wound his arms around Vix's waist, drawing the other green handler's back to his chest. The other arm crossed over Vix's shoulders in a loose hug. He wouldn't fight it if the younger man pulled away, but for now, with the other chasers drawing near, Kostya was sating his possessive nature with physical touch. Didn't like the girl holding Vix's hand, or the affectionate (even if it was Tekivisk) name directed at the bronze. Didn't like the fact he'd have to surrender the green handler to one of the others.
Chin dipping to rest on Vix's shoulder, Kostya looked beyond him at all the others, wondering who it would be in the end. Piden he counted out, if only because he was property of the gold - which in itself was highly amusing. Ximera; clinging to his side and mostly ignored, wouldn't that be amusing and annoying because of her bizarre fantasy. Damori; annoying room mate, hn.
Then there was..
.. oh, that guy was just too old.

Darmosk remained posed on his fallen log watching his glowing sister with clear interest. His darker sister to was watched curiously, but the darker of his sisters was not the wher who held his full attention. When Tekivisk took off into the trees the bronze yapped happily and leapt off his log. Landing with a heavy thump he dug in his back talons and powered forward. No time for elegance or flashy moves. His sister was green and he was quite a bit larger and unfortunately slower. All his concentration went to keeping her in sight. Thankfully the females heat signature was easy enough to follow. Thus he caught her leap onto the log but Darmosk was willing to humor her so he went with the pack past her perch.
Fortunately he was a front runner so he was able to slow to a jog as Tekivisk went to greet her chasers. When she brushed against him he lowered his head to get in a quick nuzzle against her shoulder as she past. Tongue lapping briefly at his maw he watched as the glowing green rubbed up against the darker one. A happy woof for was voiced to both. How lovely his sisters looked together. Like the night they belonged to. But there was not much time for looking, for soon Tekivisk had raced off again and again Darmosk was leaping logs, winding about trees, crashing through undergrowth, and setting his feet to the path laid out before him. Unlike the other’s racing in her shadow through, the bronze strove to be up closer wanting to race near her side.
Unfortunately for Darmosk he was bronze, as much as he didn’t act it. Thus the speeds his sisters could run at where lost to him. Nevertheless he sure gave it his best try. Chest heaving as he took great breaths as he bounded after the twosome, one light one dark. Winding about the large tree he put his muscle to work, head low, wings tucked as tight as possible as he tried, pretty much futilely, to close some distance.
Darmori gave a happy wuff noise as his nickname was called. Had he had a tial it would have been wagging but as it was his smile simply brightened and he pranced in place for a moment before drawing carefully closer to Vix. Konstask had a possessive hold though so he stayed back. He didn’t want to risk upsetting his sisters. Instead the teen purred low in his throat and drew closer to stand a length or so away from his roommate. To the frightened Ximesk he offered an attempt at a soothing croon and then looked at the other bronze handlers a confused look on his face. Where they being scary?

He would get there, that he would, if he just kept going. And didn't tear anything on a limb. The branches liked his wings a bit too much they did, and he had to be careful about them. Ximesk began emulating a giant bouncy ball with wings, bounding leap forward, flap flap flap, land, a couple paces, leap, repeat. He brushed against Roisk and offered his teacher a soft croon. Oops, got you with that wingtip there, my bad.
Oh, tricksy! He was turning back toward her, barely avoiding accidentally whacking her in the head with his wing when Tekivisk moved up from behind him with a nuzzle and a lick. He shook himself as she passed him with a happy bark, pouncing after her and nearly landing on Darmosk. Oops, oops, oops. Ximesk dug in his heels, tail lashing, then he suddenly cut left, out of the pack where he wouldn't end up running on someone's back when their pace didn't match his. Several broken branches and bruises later, he'd gained on the front runners (other than Tekivisk's other half) and made a final fluttering leap out of his sidepath, running nose-for-nose with the other chaser in the lead.
The blue bounced off the tree they'd cut so sharply around and went rolling, churning the ground with his feet and putting on an extra burst of speed. Nope he would not be left behind, even if he fell over a dozen more times!
Ximera smiled with a mixture of gratitude and something else when Tekivix took her hand, the girl curling her fingers through his, even as she edged back from Kostya. Her eyes darted to Darmori, and the bluehandler crossed around to Tekivix's other side when he started making animal noises at her, paying no attention to the fact that she was taking the greenhandler's arm with her. Kostya could have most of him; she just wanted his hand. "Okay," she agreed, managing a small smile, but she edged even further behind the two men despite the word.

Roisk was noting a distinct problem chasing a wher as fast and agile as Tekivisk. He was fast when he wanted to be, but his bulk had a hard time getting through bushes so easily. Not to be deterred, he plowed through the brush, trailing leaves and branches in his wake. It wouldn't always be so easy though. With skill born from experience, the bronze chose the straightest path through the trees after the green. Konstask didn't interest him, it was Tekivisk who was his light tonight.
As she came around, using the log to turn herself, he crooned happily. She was welcome to play with his tail anytime. He twitched it playfully as he ran, not wanting to lose any speed. The chase had only begun! Now Roisk poured on the speed, keeping his head low to avoid vines and branches. It was tricky work, but so much fun! With a barking laugh, he rounded the tree in hot pursuit of the lovely green lady.
Riovao watched Tekivix with a lonely sigh. Why was he angry at him? He hadn't done anything surely. Well, Tiida wasn't helping at all. He swatted at the salamandyr, but she continued to cling and hiss. It was hopeless. Roi slumped and inched back down the hall. With her around, Tekivix was bound to reject him, maybe he'd better stay away so he wouldn't get mad instead.

Oh, she'd noticed, and she was imitating the humans when they were happy! Reaching out gently for her mind, he sent her a soothing thought: Eikask wasn't mad (not at her at least), he was here to run because it was a beautiful night and she was lovely. No need to worry, he had everything under control. He left off the part where he wasn't allowed to catch, if it looked like she was favoring him too much he'd drop out or whack his wing into a tree, enough to bruise but not to break. He was absolutely convinced he could make both Whers happy.
Pidesk barely had time to pause before the Green was off again. With a quick panting huff, he chased, not hanging near the back on purpose but consigned there, unable to reproduce Tekivisk's speed even though he was smaller than Darmosk and Roisk both. Sure, he could probably get his tail moving about as fast as hers on a straightaway, but he certainly couldn't start as fast, lurching into full speed her. Offering an appreciative hum, he skidded sideways when she hopped up on the log, trying to stop fast and failing. He didn't miss her avoidance, but... who cared? They were off.
Still near the rear (another slow start off the line, and so many trees in the way), Pidesk picked up the pace when she urged him to, using wings and tail to whip his skinny frame around trees and over fallen logs, gliding when he could. His wings were one of his best assets, and he showed them off whenever possible, happy to glide and twist and even flap when he could. He started catching up... not a frontrunner by any stretch, but certainly on his way.
As Roi retreated down the hall Piden raised an eyebrow. His door was about as far down as you could get, so Roi was heading his direction whether he meant to or not. Roi's problem, however, was one Piden recognized - the only reason he didn't have at least Three slinking around his neck glaring daggers at Tekivix was because she was asleep, still sulking from being removed from his bed last night. Reaching out, the Handler offered, "Want help? I've got a jealous mind-leech, too."

He let Kostya pull him back, settled into the other male’s arms comfortably. The hand that was not claimed by Ximera settled on Kostya’s hip lightly, Vix leaning back and turning his head to brush his lips across Kostya’s cheek affectionately. Didn’t notice his lack of concern when it came to Ximera, Vix content to let the girl have his hand. He squeezed her hand again lightly at her moving, gaze flicking curiously at Darmori, head still inclined towards Kostya, to see what had driven Ximera away from him. Couldn’t understand—Darmori always played nice, even when he didn’t even need to be nice. Plus, he looked just as confused as Vix was. Vix was a little too far gone to find the words necessary to convey that, though, so he didn’t, just kept Ximera’s fingers in his own.
She slipped through the trees, breath coming in soft breathless pants, scrambled up a slight incline, claws digging into the rich soil. Snuck a quick glance over her shoulder at the males, Konstask the night at her side, Tekivisk rasping out a soft pleased noise at the sight of them, even if Ximesk did seem to be having a little difficulty keeping his feet. Concern brushed across his mind, the green crooning soft anxiety; he didn’t have to hurt himself trying to run with her. He didn’t. As for the bronzes—well, they weren’t fast. But they were keeping up and that was something, she knew.
Didn’t stop her from brushing delight across Konstask’s mind at the other green’s suggestion. At any other time, she might have reconsidered—the river was wide, the currents strong—but now there was only the thrill of the chase, and she wanted. Her claws dug briefly into the soil as she changed direction slightly to head towards the river, tail flicking out playfully to touch Konstask’s side as she passed. There was some concern, though—not all of the males would make it. Had to leave them behind…at least, most of them. Perhaps…
Some small part of her had known she would have to, eventually. But it was so soon and they hadn’t really even begun yet.
Tekivisk drew in a long breath, the glittering snake-river in sight through the trees. She was loathe to wait for any of the bronzes once she made it to the other side, and quietly she knew Pidesk would not be with her—he was the gold’s, irrevocably, even if he had chosen to follow her tonight. Darmosk, though…Darmosk was her beloved brother, on par with Konstask. Tekivisk wouldn’t, perhaps, mind making an exception for him. And Ximesk was her sibling, too, not as close to her as Konstask and Darmosk but still family, special, not as slow as the bronzes…but clumsy, and if he hurt himself then…
She was at the riverbank now, glancing once over her shoulder before her muscles tensed in a leap. Claws clattered onto the first rock, the green hesitating a fraction of a second for balance before her body extended in a leap outwards for the opposite bank of the river, wings flaring out for additional distance, sure Konstask would follow her, reaching out for a mind as familiar as breathing—Darmosk, her brother, playmate, love, follow her and Konstask—and brushing soft, apologetic dismissal across the minds of the other males, thanking them so much for coming…but it was just the three of them now, the dark of the sky and the stars and moon and Darmosk.
Vix’s hand tightened on Kostya’s hip, breath hitching at the disorienting jerk of ground moving under his feet at Tekivisk’s leap, eyes widening. Running was one thing; jumping was another entirely. But in the leap came the green’s decision, and after another moment in which Vix was mostly sure that his heart was about to choke him, he exhaled, relaxing back into Kostya again. Tried to pull his hand free from Ximera in order to reach for Darmori instead, Vix stepping back against Kostya in an attempt to pull Kostya and Darmori away from everyone else.

Darmosk shifted direction as his two sisters did, a determination burning in his veins. To keep the females in sight was what he wanted. Talons tearing up the earth the bronze ran alongside the other chasers. This brothers in truth. Both blood and not. As the large male approached the, now in sight, river he was just in time to witness Tekivisk’s leap, his darker hued sister Konstask not far behind. Normally Darmosk would have pulled up then to attempt to find a different route.
The bronze had never learned to swim. The rocks where slippery and should he fall, the currents might be the end of him. The large male may have been eccentric but he was far from stupid. One factor decided his next actions for him however. Tekivisk’s mind brush made his heart swell in affection and without breaking stride Darmosk leapt for the rock. Talons found purchase on the slick stone for just a fraction, before muscles bunched and he again flung himself in a leap for the opposite bank. Decent sized wings extended as the wher used them to help him reach the opposite bank.
Upon touching down with a loud thump the bronze turned and crooned softly to his two sisters. Tail wagging he approached them, first nuzzling Tekivisk’s muzzle affectionately. Sister, friend, and now love. His love. Brushing up alongside her and leaning slightly against his glowing sister to make sure they remained touching he extended his nose to also nuzzle Konstask. Dark sister. Also beautiful. It was clear Tekivisk desired her to stay and the large male had no problems with this fact.
A low and affectionate rumble was given before he nudged first Tekivisk then Konstask towards the jungle. For these moments the entirety of the night. Both the dark and the light belonged to him and him alone. Lovely sisters. Loved sisters. Especially Tekivisk.
Darmori gave an unsure croon to Vix as he brushed lips against his other sister. He wanted to get closer. He did. But Ximesk was upset and that confused him. Not wanting to upset his blue brother he continued to hang back. Until Tekivisk made her decision. Then with a few sudden quick strides he approached the pair and pivoted around Ximera to grab for Tekivisk’s wrist.
Tightening his grip to make sure she would not go away his lips found his roommate’s jaw in an affectionate kiss before Darmori's other hand brushed across what of Kostya he could reach. His sisters, especially Tekivisk, now belonged to him. He was willing to follow the two anywhere. His eyes flicked back to the interior of the apartments before returning to his ‘sisters’.

Fearless, Konstask didn't pause to gauge the distance or the best approach. She launched off the bank, claws raking against the damp stone and she leap from one to another, picking the highest one she could reach before using her back legs to propel her forward. Her wings, while not made for prolong flight, did well enough to send her slender shape over the moving water. She closed them just short of the opposite bank, dropping into the shallow water with a splash to feel the cool liquid against her warm skin.
She climbed onto the bank, again bounding toward her glowing sister, a pleasant hum sounding in her throat as the choice came. She didn't think they needed Damorsk, but if that's how her sister wanted it, then Konstask wouldn't complain. Her jade and emerald hues rubbed against her sister's glow in blatant affection. Her head draping over the smaller female's neck. She snorted at the nudges from the bronze, flicking her tail at him but purposely failing to make a connection on the hit. They were not his. Damorsk was merely being privileged to be shared with the night.
Priviledged was correct.
Kostya's arms crossed more protectively around Vix, half lidded eyes watched Damori dare an approach. It had to be one of the male whers in the end, Konstask certainly didn't have the right anatomy to finish the chase. Tekivisk's acceptance, though, and desire for Konstask to remain with her, was still felt along the bond. Kostya smiled - highly pleased with the final results if only because he had managed to manipulate the natural workings of nature to bend toward his desires.
It was cheating, Kostya knew as he turned Vix's chin away from Damori's chaste touch of lips. Kostya had been patient, every so much, played the game and pulled the strings. Tekivisk's running had thrown a wrench into it all, but Kostya wasn't going to let anyone steal it out from under him. He would have preferred a first kiss when Vix was fully aware (and likely to flail and panic), but he would settle for the light, claiming kiss he pressed against Vix's lips - stolen away from Damori's attempts.
Silly brother.
Darmorsk might get to enjoy the rewards of an ending chase, but Kostya had no intentions of letting the human half get little more than touches and maybe a kiss. Maybe. When three people were involve, one was likely to get left out. Kostya was hell bent on making sure the odd one out would be Damori. With an arm winding around Vix's waist, Kostya led his sister away from prying eyes. Leaving Damori to trail along with the illusion of being invited to join.
