Physical Appearance:
Elysia stands at about 5’ 8”. Her build is slender and lithe, her figure near perfect. (If she has gained a little weight around her hip and thigh area from having a child one should know better then to let her know that.) Lean muscle packs her slender frame and provides her with a surprising amount of strength for her size. Dark, dark hair, of a shade just off jet black, hangs normally just past her shoulders, though she tends to let it grow a little longer lately. The greenrider’s eyes are also a very inky brown and are framed by a set of long dark eyelashes. Her skin tans relatively easily, though she never gets very dark seeing how she has a rather fair northern complexion. Elysia’s skin maybe near flawless as far as complexion goes but it is far from unmarked. Thin lines of rather light scaring run up and down her back and mark her arms, the scars looking surprisingly like those a whip might leave. Despite the scarring to her back and arms, her long shapely legs and her ample breasts are surprisingly devoid of any scaring. The only other marks of note are a light set of feline claw marks across her left hipbone. All in all Elysia puts forth a quite lovely picture and it is quite obvious that the woman puts a good deal of effort into her body.
The clothing you are most likely to find Elysia wearing is tight fitting leather or hide gear designed for fighting or thread. When in leisure or downtime however, she prefers loose flowing garments and absolutely loves any occasion she can use as an excuse to wear a dress. (The more seductive the better) Although darker colors are normally the dominate colors in her wardrobe, her more elegant dresses are almost always a wine red or emerald green and of a fit that shows off her body to it’s best advantage.
The greenrider also hardly ever goes anywhere without her weapons of choice. A standard fighting whip of 4'6" in length. This is the weapon she typically uses in battle alongside her feet and fists. Often she is also carrying a coiled Bullwhip of 8’ in length. The former is the more dangerous weapon for inter-dispersed along it’s length are small bits of sharp metal that are braided into the actual leather of the weapon. If all else fails Elysia also normally carries a couple of, often hidden, daggers.
Personality:
The exotic looking rider is much more than just a pretty face. Although she would very much like to have you believe she is nothing more. Elysia is quite haughty and in your face most of the time and much more likely to make some snarky, sarcastic comment than a nice one. Especially if she doesn’t like you for one reason or another. The woman also seems very much obsessed with herself a lot of the time. A bit perhaps narcissistic, she more or less expects all eyes in the room to be on her and if they aren’t the woman tends to try and immediately command attention in some way. Her attention seeking behavior has lessened somewhat in recent turns, though it would be a lie to say it has disappeared entirely.
Elysia accepts nothing less than the finer things in life and almost nothing makes her happier then pampering herself and those around her, especially her child, pets, and weyrmate. Sly and quite a bit manipulative the woman often tries to use any advantage she can think of when trying to acquire something she desires. In previous turns, manipulation was the only well used tool in her repertoire. Now the greenrider is beginning to learn that asking sometimes has it’s advantages as well. (Even if she is stubborn enough to sometimes resort to old tricks when she thinks that it will get her better results.)
The greenrider loves to be in total control of most situations that crop up in her life and, has the brains and ability to, most of the time succeed in this goal. In fact love is probably not the right word for her feelings on the matter of control. Need is probably a better word. If Elysia gets into a situation where control is completely out of her hands she tends to get a bit panicky and unstable. There are of course exceptions to this need for control, but most of those exceptions revolve around her weyrmate S’rei and are only possible because of the immense amount of trust she has built up and placed in him.
Despite the fact that Elysia has mellowed a bit in the past turns she still has a extreme distrust of most males, (most notably still many of the bronzeriders) and tends to have a hard time getting along with most females as well. Despite that however she communicates and gets along with people better then she used to. Which, in and of itself, is perhaps a small miracle. Her friends are still a relatively small and closely guarded bunch and she still seems to keep the majority of them, at least partially, segregated from her deeper feelings and emotions. She still tends to keep herself rather guarded in many ways, oftentimes feeling it necessary to stay aloof to protect herself.
Clever in her own right Elysia still isn’t one that is easily trifled with even if she has become a bit more approachable. She is very much the same rose with the occasional nasty, poison tipped thorns. The woman is most definitely the type to hold grudges and she has no qualms with trying to concoct perfect punishments for those who slight her. She is also quite content to wait for the right moment before doling out these punishments as well, as her patience for matters such as revenge is long. The element of surprise is something she has never taken for granted after all.
Despite her reactions with most people in the weyr, those that know her intimately know a different side to Elysia. A softer more vulnerable side that only comes into play when she is around her family in a private setting. The only people that can attest that they have seen this side of her are her weyrmate S’rei, her son Elias, her mindmates, Miguel, and some of her rather unconventional family, (such as her former lover Dmitri to some extent).
On the flipside of the coin Elysia is absolutely ruthless, cold, and efficient in battle. Not one to ever contend the order of the higher-ups she performs her orders to the letter and normally offers little to nothing in the way of complaint. If her Wingleader orders her to do something, she does it to the best of her ability. Elysia does not delude herself with dreams of leadership. Instead she simply strives to make herself as useful as possible to her wing. In fact Elysia has a tendency to view her wing as a type of family unit and she is not happy unless her family is unified.
History:
2986-2999 Birth, Childhood, Training
Elysia was born in Benden weyr to greenrider Elynor of Nysindith and bronzerider R’sia (Ransia before impression) of Radalth in the year 2986. This was ten years before the northern wars had even begun. She wasn’t born out of any great feelings of love between the pair. On the contrary the child was conceived by the twenty year old Elynor in the hopes that it would be male and take some of R’sia’s controlling and violent attention away from herself. The babe was unfortunately born female. But fortunately for Elynor, and perhaps unfortunately for the newborn Elysia, her mother’s desperate plot worked. R’sia found someone else to obsess over. His new blood daughter.
The young girl was raised by both parents and had, by most standards, what would probably equate to an abusive childhood. Her father R’sia was a prominent wingleader and very well respected. However he was not exactly a kind man. Although he professed to love his daughter he could not bear any type of weakness from her and so Elysia learned from a young age that perfection was demanded of her. Perfection equaled love and anything less equaled mental pain, beatings, and disappointment. Her mother Elynor on the other hand, perhaps because she felt guilty for subjecting her child to R’sia, was coddling and provided her little girl with anything she could ever imagine or want. As the little girl she grew her father instilled in her an understanding that his love meant discipline and most importantly pain. Pain obviously meant you where learning. Where as her mother's pampering and providing showed another way of displaying affection. To say the least Elysia was growing up rather confused.
R’sia was perhaps, in his own misguided way, preparing his daughter for the evil he was sure waiting on the horizon as he felt tensions between the weyrs begin. Self defense training was taught by him with real weapons from a young age. Elysia as a result often ended up in the infirmary with some mark or wound on her person. At that young an age the little girl never really blamed her father for his abuse of her. In fact Elysia almost welcomed that she was receiving any attention from him at all. The only time she ever got to really see her father in fact was when he was inflicting some pain or another on her. Still in the end Elysia was just a little girl. Although some of her Elynor’s friends had misgivings and issues with the way Elysia was being raised and treated by R’sia, no one in their right mind questioned a ranking bronzerider at Benden. Thus silent they stayed.
In 2996 Fort stole a clutch of Benden’s. Elysia, now ten turns of age, was honestly surprised that they had gotten away with such. The murmurs of war were starting and the child would not be left deaf to them. Elysia’s training began in earnest now. And since R’sia was content that his daughter knew enough about hand to hand he began to instruct her in the use of his own signature weapon. The whip. Cue a whole new threshold of pain and scaring.
It was around this time, as she started to mature, that Elysia began to develop a seething hatred for the man she called her father. The hatred only growing stronger and deeper until it became almost overwhelming the night Elysia turned thirteen and was accepted as a candidate. Her father’s ‘present’ to her was preparation for dragon flights. For there was no doubt in his mind that his daughter would impress the first time she stood. R’sia’s wingsecond, a bronzerider who’s name Elysia has blocked from memory, stole her innocence that night with her father in attendance. It was at that moment, as she begged and pleaded her father to help her to no avail, that Elysia realized that she truly did hate this man that had a part in creating her. She vowed to someday wrest herself from his control of her life. To live as she wanted to live.
3000- 3010 Impression, Weyrling Training, Assignment to R’sia’s Fighting Wing
Despite her emotional and physical scarring the young Elysia excelled in whatever was put before her. Her spirit remaining, perhaps miraculously, unbroken. At 14 she was chosen to stand for her first dragon clutch. A clutch belonging to Senior Queen Baith. In the year 3000 Elysia became the bonded to a young green named Onyth. This was the only time she could ever remember her father ever saying he was proud of her. It is one of the only good memories of her father in fact. One that sticks most in her head. For though she no doubt hated R’sia, by this point she was already deeply conditioned to strive for his approval.
R’sia finally had to give control of his daughter over to the Weyrlingmasters, although he continued to watch her from afar. Elysia was ranked at the very top in her class. Onyth far out showing nearly all of her siblings in aerial prowess. Eventually, after their graduation, the greenpair were assigned to a wing and it was no great surprise to Elysia that she found herself and Onyth on her father’s fighting wing. Leashed to him yet again. R’sia once again provided for his daughter the only way he knew how, by keeping her controlled. If this extended to punishing her in ways most wingleaders would give pause at R’sia comforted himself with the knowledge that Elysia was his and as such the man believed he had the right to treat her however he wished. Although times were rough in the war torn weyr the bronzerider always extended his suffocating protection over his daughter. Elysia had grown up into a rather good looking woman and it was no secret that there were many in the weyr who desired her. It was perhaps R’sia’s control that saved the greenrider from getting too caught up in unsavory things as Benden got worse under C’leon’s dictatorship.
In 3006 Elysia heard that the Selenitas line had been broken and she felt the weyr’s minor shift in attention towards Selenitas. Selenitas had become sort of a wildcard in the war and it was of common thought that if Fort or Benden could control Selenitas they might be able to get an advantage in the war. Elysia’s fighting wing (still headed by her father) however, was mainly sent north to battles with Fort. It was here that Elysia and Onyth made a name for themselves. R’sia’s wing was well trained and all of them acted much like one central unit. It was the closest Elysia had ever been to having a true family. A bluerider on her wing named G’lem became her single close friend. G’lem even admitted to Elysia that he was gay and the woman helped the young man’s situation out by playing that they were something of a couple. It wasn’t all too hard to fake seeing as Onyth was being caught frequently by Iaemoth, G’lem’s blue. Although life was hard and had it’s terrible moments it was not altogether unbearable for the greenrider.
3011-3012 R’sia’s death, New wing assignment, Enter J’lorin
Eventually tragedy struck Elysia and her ‘family’. In 3011 R’sia’s wing was ambushed in a routine sweep ride. The battle was hard and many were lost including R’sia and G’lem. Being forced to retreat, the tattered and broken wing returned to Benden. Onyth and Elysia were treated in the infirmary and then thrust into a different wing. Elysia had finally broken free of her father’s control. Unfortunately she was not as happy with this fact as she felt she should have been. Elysia’s new wing was different. Gone was the familiarity of family and it was a poor mockery of their previous assignment. In her new wing the attention was focused mainly on Selenitas. Unhappy with the turn of events, (Fort was the enemy not Selenitas), Elysia asked for a reassignment. Originally she was declined but eventually the greenrider was reassigned to a wing which concentrated mainly on weyr defense and the woman felt she could live with that.
R’sia had protected Elysia, mostly, from the horrors of Benden and now the woman found herself thrust into them. Having to face them without her father’s presence to protect her. Fortunately her father had done a good job in his training of her, perhaps too good, and not many who tried to mess with her lived to regret it. In a place where murder was common place it was all too easy for Elysia to create “accidents” to deal with them. Eventually disenchanted with the way Benden was run the greenrider joined a underground resistance movement against C’leon and his tyrannical Benden. Soon she learned of the plan that was to happen during the proposed Siege of Selenitas and Elysia and Onyth were put on a wing to cull out the unworthy when Benden’s repulsed wings returned from Selenitas. They did this with cold efficiency, like everything else.
3013-3014 Selenitas alliance, New weyr, New life, Legatus
Under Weyrleader J'lorin, rider of bronze Illumiath, Benden began a turn around and, although there were still pockets of resistance, Elysia for one supported J’lorin. Perhaps because of this fact (along with her and Onyth’s fighting expertise) she was selected along with a small group of riders to take a trip to their new unlikely allies Selenitas. Her mission? Integrate herself into life there and teach their new allies to fight. Although she was not exactly ecstatic about her new assignment orders were orders and she carried her assignment out to the best of her ability.
It took the green pair awhile to settle into the more easy going life of the south. But soon the woman and her dragon came to enjoy life their more then they ever had at Benden. Although fitting in was not exactly easy Elysia managed well enough. Well enough in fact to eventually actually fall in love with a much younger man named Dmitri. During this time the young wherhandler succeeded in helping the older woman begin to repair and find facets to herself that she had previously hid from the world. Elysia and Dmitri began a long love affair and eventually became weyrmates. It was during this time that Elysia decided that she would like to stay at Selenitas for good. Although she never requested an official transfer she was also never called back to Benden.
In fact instead Elysia found herself becoming an important part in a new wing. A wing shrouded in mystery and built solely for fighting and espionage. A wing called Legatus and lead by bronzerider Ka’rys of Ciceroth. There Elysia and Onyth also excelled, the woman showing a knack for her new assignment. For once Elysia was actually pretty happy with the direction of her life. Happy at least until, because of a few trust and personal issues, Dmitri and her broke up. The harper moved out and the greenrider found herself in a bit of a depression because of it. Still as Elysia was well used to life rolled on despite any personal feelings she found herself wresting with.
3015- 3016 Prisoners, Wasteland Takeover, Burimyu, Gather, Spying, Death of a Queen
It was a couple of months later at the beginning of turn 3015 that the Legatus wing helped to secure a bunch of prisoners from Benden. Prisoners from a rebel weyr named Wasteland. It was however, unfortunately, the sparing and acquisition of these prisoners that led to the rebel weyr Wasteland eventually invading and taking over Selenitas. Elysia and her wing acted quickly in those violent first moments of the takeover, succeeding in evacuating some metallics and goldrider Meira of Jingth but failing to save Savitri of Hepaticath. Elysia, along with her wing and a rag tag bunch of other escapees, then became exiled from their invaded home of Selenitas.
Thankfully luck seemed to be on the refugee’s side for just a scant few hours after their escape Legatus found a long abandoned and forgotten weyr. It was there that Elysia and the other exiles set up a home for themselves, naming the place Burimyu. As time passed the exiles remained alive by stealing tithes and keeping under the radar, hiding from any who might seek to pursue them. During this time Elysia became a spy of sorts for Burimyu, returning to the weyr under the cover of night periodically and gathering information from loyal sources she had there. Although her life at Burimyu was not near as happy as it was at Selenitas, it became more bearable by her suddenly acquiring a new friend. S’rei of Salenth had been brought to the hidden weyr alive but injured after a cave in. For some reason the man started to bug the greenrider, citing that her depression worried him and he had nothing better to do as he mended. For awhile Elysia attempted to resist his attempts to befriend her, for the man was a bronzerider and the father to her former lover Dmitri. The avoidance didn’t last too long however and, even though he was a bronzerider who by all rights she should hate, it wasn’t long before the greenrider was emulating a stray cat and visiting his weyr. Even sleeping at the end of his bed some nights. It was nice to have some type of a friend who cared when everything was so uncertain.
In 3016, at Hyphen gather about ten months into their exile, Burimyu riders were spotted by Selenitas natives and attacked. A few riders of the exiled weyr were killed as the others all struggled to escape with their lives. The leader of Legatus, Ka’rys of Ciceroth, was among the dead much to Elysia’s chagrin. The only good thing that seemed to come from the close call was that Elysia became a bit closer to S’rei, their ‘just friends’ situation becoming a ‘friends with benefits’ one. Just a few months later, at exactly a year into their forced exile, the exile weyr lost their only queen Jingth. Her rider Meira having been literally eaten alive by some unknown predator in the unexplored tunnels of the enclosed weyr. Elysia was one of a group of three other woman who was present during the goldrider’s death. Feeling responsible for the loss of the only queen, and feeling encouraged by her friend S’rei of Salenth, the greenrider began to return to Selenitas to try and coerce the goldweyrling pair Caden of Nitrath to defect to the queenless Burimyu.
The venture didn’t turn out as successful as the greenrider had hoped. After meeting with her ex Legatus wingmate M’ta of Behruth, it seemed as if he would not allow her to even speak to Caden. Frustrated the greenrider decided to use the only bit of collateral she had on the brownrider. His dead husband’s son Riaren. The brownrider cited that he would need more time to think on her proposal, (For him and his weyrling class, including Caden, to come defect to Burimyu), and Elysia returned a few days later to hear his answer. It was then that M’ta jumped and subdued the greenrider. Elysia was kept captive for a few months, her dragon unhappily returning to Burimyu without her. Her rider not doing well at all in captivity, it was only Salenth and S’rei that prevented Onyth from betweening when it seemed as if Elysia would not be released. However, after extracting a promise that she would not keep trying to acquire Caden and Nitrath, M’ta finally did release the woman at Blossom.
Elysia was able to return to Burimyu, whereupon she arranged for E’rro of Ismaroth to give M’ta back Riaren as a type of apology for using the child as collateral in the first place. The only positive thing that seemed to come out of the entire situation at all was that S’rei seemed to have missed Elysia a good deal in her absence. In fact the two ironically became even closer after the forced separation then they had ever been previously.
3017 S’rei, Earthquake, Merge
As Elysia recovered from her incarceration she learned that her former lover Dmitri of Dmisk was to be joined to a greenrider he had been friends with for turns, Erilena of Feyrianth. Not quite sure how to feel about the situation she nevertheless was as supportive of the decision as she could be. The man at least seemed happy with and loved his new bride. It was not long after the joining of his son that S’rei admitted to Elysia that he actually loved her and the greenrider was only too happy to finally count her weyrmating to him as official. (Never mind that they had been living together for quite awhile by this point.)
A few months later a massive earthquake rocked Selenitas in the night, the aftershock being felt even at Burimyu. For the aftershock to carry that far the quake must have been truly massive. Unable to fight the curiosity, and her worry for Dmitri mostly, Elysia stole off the very next morning see if she couldn’t get a glimpse of the damage done to her old home. What met the greenrider’s eyes was both sobering and terrifying. Selenitas had been mostly reduced to nothing more then rubble. Hastening back to Burimyu Elysia reported her findings to the council and it wasn’t long before the woman found herself traveling back to the destroyed weyr in a wing sent to offer aid and a place for the refugees to live.
Thankfully the negotiations went rather well and with little in the way of time wasted Selenitas was incorporated into Burimyu. With the merge two more seats were added to Burimyu, now called New Selenitas’ council. Though things were by no means perfect with the merging of the exiles and their previous weyr, they seemed to iron themselves out fairly quickly and it wasn’t long before the weyr seemed to be running as one cohesive unit again.
As far as Elysia was concerned only a few other things worthy of mention happened that turn. One was the pregnancy of Dmitri’s wife Erilena. Elysia herself became rather drawn to the other greenrider during this time and became rather curious about the woman’s pregnancy. Pregnancy was a thing that Elysia had never let herself, even minimally, entertain before and she followed the course of the other woman’s term with, perhaps poorly, disguised interest. Upon the birth of Dmitri’s children Elysia found herself with grandchildren of a sorts, though she hardly claimed herself as grandmother, and found herself growing a bit attached to the infants. Not nearly as attached as her weyrmate S’rei however.
At the end of that turn a disease nearly decimated the draconic pet population of the weyr, many mandyrs and firelizards falling ill with the sickness. Elysia’s two brown firelizards thankfully never came down with the disease, though Dmitri’s golden salamandyr did. While the handler and his pet were battling the illness, Elysia found herself helping S’rei take care of Erilena’s, near newborn, twins for awhile while the woman struggled to juggle not only caring for her new children, but her husband, and helping the dragonhealers in the infirmary as well. Strangely enough Elysia found that she didn’t really mind caring for the infants. (Even if she could have done without some parts of infant care.) The twins did however leave a bit of a lasting impression on her. The strength of which she didn’t really grasp until Dmitri was well enough for the infants to return to their parents and Elysia found herself missing them. Though she didn’t admit that fact to a soul. Not even to S’rei.
3018 Meeting with J’lorin, Pregnancy, Birth of Elias
Thoughts of babies were put out of the greenrider’s mind for awhile when whispers of 'Fort' and 'war' started traveling through the hidden weyr. What started as just a whisper became louder and louder murmurings until it was decided by the council that New Selenitas had hidden enough. Elysia and Iskerika, the two having been previously Benden riders strictly on loan, were approached and asked if they thought a meeting with Benden’s Weyrleader would be possible to arrange. Though Iskerika and Elysia were a bit apprehensive about returning to Benden both agreed to try and a few days later the twosome set out for Benden in the early morning.
They were received rather well considering things and after a few minor setbacks the two were granted an audience with J’lorin himself. With their mission completed the two returned to Selenitas with meeting arrangements for negotiations set in place. Elysia for one was only too glad to return to Selenitas for returning to Benden for even that short of a time brought up an immense amount of memories and feelings that she had been striving for turns to forget.
Even with war possibly on the horizon the little voices in Elysia’s head would not quit and she finally nervously approached S’rei one evening with a surprising request for a child. Though the discussion perhaps didn’t go as smoothly as the greenrider wished, in the end she got the go ahead to stop betweening if she wished. Finally in March of that turn the greenrider became pregnant and though she knew war was on the horizon she hoped that before it actually broke out she would be able to fight. It would take time for the Selenitas wings to merge effectively with Benden’s after all and it would take a bit longer to iron out all the political details.
Elysia still went to drills until she was too pregnant for it to be no longer safe. (Read when E’rro finally told her to get the hell off of Onyth before he threw her off the wing.) The few remaining months of her pregnancy were a bit rough. Not only because the woman herself was uncomfortable physically but because S’rei wasn’t around as much as she would have liked him to be. A hazard of the bronzerider being on the council with war looming ever closer. As a result Elysia didn’t really enjoy her pregnancy as much as she would have liked. A good portion of the time she was irritable and emotional and towards the end Elysia began to have inward doubts. Doubts that this was the right time for a child, doubts she could be a decent mother, and doubts that she would love the baby after it was born. Perhaps she would be just like her parents and a terrible mother. Was that kind of thing genetic?
Though she refused to speak a word of her inner turmoil to anyone, not even telling S’rei, some of it must have been communicated to the bronzer through her body language. For, just a week or so before Elysia’s projected due date, he finally relented to her request for a small vacation in Blossom. Maybe it was the dragon ride to the hold, or maybe it was just the level of stress she was under but just a day after arriving at the hold Elysia went into labor. Though the greenrider was certainly terrified she struggled not to let it show and gave birth to a baby boy on that mildly overcast day in December. Still a bit apprehensive, Elysia demanded to see her son immediately after his birthing not even seeming to mind the sticky mess he still was as she held him against her chest and simply quietly cried. It was like impression all over again and for the life of her Elysia couldn’t remember why she had ever thought that she wouldn’t be able to love the fragile creature she had just given life to.
Naming him Elias, the boy became something of a nervous obsession to Elysia in the days that followed his birth. Her weyrmate was a constant comfort in this matter, (As he had done this all many times before), and it was perhaps only because of S’rei’s calm that Elysia didn’t turn into some type of neurotic basket case. In fact, after the first couple of weeks, Elysia’s near neurotic worry over her son calmed enough that the greenrider could do things without having to go immediately check on him every few moments. Even letting other people hold her baby was something of a giant step for Elysia, as evidenced when Ba’sun made a visit to meet her son. If not for S’rei’s calming presence she probably would have been hovering up against the poor bluerider the entire time he was there.
3019 -3022 End of The Dragon Wars, Summit, Motherhood
With her new son only about a month old Elysia might have been more willing to actually cave to S’rei’s desire for her to stay home with the baby during the war. Might have if not for the fact that she felt it her duty to help end the war she had watched begin. Might have if her wing hadn’t needed her. Furthermore she wanted a safer world for Elias. So that he would not have to grow up witnessing what she herself did. Arrangements were made to acquire a wet nurse for the babe when she wouldn’t be there and Elysia was as picky in her choice as she could possibly be. Picky was she as well in who she chose to care for her child should something happen to her or S’rei, but that matter was far easier to arrange. It was with a single minded determination that Elysia then returned to her wing.
Thankfully, for Elysia, it was just like riding a bike and she meshed back into her wing as if she had never left it in the first place. When the final battle took place, only a few month’s later, the woman was ready to infiltrate Fort with Legatus. Witnessing R’anatar fall was gratifying in and of itself, but the greenrider knew the work wasn’t over. Indeed not. There was still the clean up to perform and though her wing only dealt with the more dangerous of the Fort mop ups it was work that both Elysia and Onyth enjoyed to an extent. Finally Fort had fallen and the war was over. All that was left was the determination of what should happen next. Elysia herself obviously played little to no part in the after war negotiations.
When the Pern wide summit was called Elysia heard enough about it all from S’rei to understand why all the changes were taking place. Though she wasn’t sure she agreed with all of the decisions, the reasons behind them were sound enough. The only thing the greenrider distinctly did not like was the fact that her weyrmate was chosen to be Selenitas’ Weyrleader. Again. It was perhaps an extremely selfish reaction but Elysia was tired of responsibility constantly stealing her weyrmate from her and now their new child as well. Despite her, by this point common, complaints on the matter the greenrider supported S’rei as she always had. It was pointless to fault the summit for choosing a bronzerider who was the obvious choice to lead through one of the most tumultuous times in recent history.
Elysia spent the next turns trying to adjust to a Pern without war as well as trying to strike a balance between being a mother and weyrmate and her wing duties. While the woman wasn’t always the perfect example of a mother she seemed to do well enough. Especially because she had a weyrmate to help her though the most nerve-wracking times as her infant son grew into a toddler. It was a very good thing that Elias seemed to have been born with a massive amount of patience and an even temper like his father, because a more needy or impatient child might have felt a bit neglected at times.
3023 Current
Currently Elysia is looking forward to the coming of the Weyrleader trials. Whether S’rei will participate or not she isn’t quite sure. However surely this time they’ll pick someone else to lead? Besides her own selfish reasons for hoping he won’t be chosen a second time, they have a young child to try and raise correctly. And the greenrider, for one, would hate for him to be too busy to enjoy his youngest growing up.

Dragon
Name: Onyth
Color: Green
Age: 23
Hatched: 3000
Color Code: 001300
Markings: 00CC00
Physical Appearance:
Onyth’s hide is a dark olive green. The shade is not particularly attractive but nor is it really ugly. The unique part of her coloration is the electric green highlights she boasts. This color rings her eyes giving her the appearance of wearing a type of eyeliner. The same shade runs in a dorsal stripe from her nose down to her tail tip. Other than that she is uniform olive all over. Long deep scars run along her body. The biggest concentration of which she boasts on her back and left hip. Long, dark claws are purposely sharpened on nearby rocks to be able to cause the most damage possible. Onyth takes great pride in her talons and takes care of them frequently.
Onyth maxes out at 22 feet. Not the largest green, but far from tiny. Her build is similar to that of a distance runner. Lithe and light, her body boasts enough sinewy muscle to give her slightly more endurance than the average green. Factor in her long whippy body and long perfectly formed wings and this green is a force to be reckoned with in the air. Nothing sort of spectacular in flight, she is a beauty to behold in free flight or battle.
Personality:
Onyth is a green who is very much aware of her abilities. She seeks not to belittle others or prove herself beyond what she know she is capable of. Not one to boast or brag, for the most part this green is quiet and demure. She does not mind company but nor does she go out of her way to receive it. Quite intelligent Onyth enjoys a good stimulating conversation and her favorite activity is watching. Often she can be seen perched somewhere or another quietly watching the goings on around her.
The green absolutely adores her bonded. Nothing is better than lounging around with hers and she does her best to keep hers happy. Despite the regular pampering she has received from hers the green remains grounded and does not appear to harbor the narcissistic qualities her other half displays. Distrustful in her own right it takes awhile to truly befriend this green and she is likely only to ever completely trust dragons who fly on her wing. Oh she will be content to talk to and socialize with others but true trustworthiness has to be earned. Onyth obeys the orders of the bronzes and browns without question. They are the leaders of the weyr and she does not suffer from delusions that she could be in a leadership position. Very much happy with her status in life, she does not wish for more than she is due.
In battle Onyth is a force to be reckoned with. Her normal quiet amiable personality is replaced with a ruthless cold efficiency. She specializes in disabling the wings of her opponents and loves nothing more than the feel of fragile wing sail shredding beneath her claws. In battle she was often charged with the duty of disabling opponents for others to finish and she absolutely loves her job. Observant and quick Onyth is quite good at her job and takes it quite seriously. The sight and smell of battle turns the normal mild mannered green into a energy charged skittish creature with a taste for ichor.
In rising, the green definitely favors blues. Perhaps because they are more able to impress her with their aerial prowess and there is nothing Onyth likes more than flight. Oh the occasional brown will be picked if it impresses her enough but for the most part her favor goes to the blues of the weyr. She is also content to stay loyal to the same dragon as long as he in turn stays loyal to her.

Species: Flitter
Name: Baron
Color: Brown 4A1700
Impressed to: Elysia
Age: 9 Turns
Hatched 3013
Appearance:
Classical to the idea and ideal of a brown, this fellow is beefy, but not too much so. With a sturdy, robust frame in his body, he immediately appears very well put together with a good amount of capability to his name. His wings are of average width, and depth, but the sails are thicker than usual. The membranes won't get sore nearly as easily as some other wings might, allowing for more stunt flying despite his considerable muscular weight.
He looks almost edible. Especially when his deep, milky chocolate color is not complete, but marred with little, lighter brown-and-tan dots and specs. He absolutely looks as if he was made of chocolate with a variety of sizes and flavors of nuts and caramel embedded in the melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. One ear-knob is completely nut-colored, making for the largest bit of lighter color on his entire body.
Personality:
There isn't anything that can ruffle the proverbial feathers of this fellow. Always calm, always collected, he is quite relaxed in all engagements, even if it seems his life might be on the line if he doesn't flawlessly execute the perfect maneuver. Confidence, assurance, they are traits he has in abundance. Too much so, sometimes, as he does things that he really ought not do … because he really is putting himself in danger doing them. His person might want to keep an eye on him for this reason, and make sure that he doesn't bite off more than he can chew, lest he go splat on the rocks at the bottom.
The relaxed, calm nature extends even to when he isn't actively doing anything. He is quite comfortable merely reclining and watching what is going on, even if it is a disturbing, emotional, gut-wrenching argument. It doesn't bother him a bit. Not even thread gets him excited. He just … deals with it.
Name: Amour
Color: Brown #795000
Species: Firelizard
Looks to: Elysia
Age: 8 Turns
Hatched: 3014
Physical Appearance:
For all appearances, this firelizard is decidedly average in size and build. His length could even be described as similar to a blue, more than a brown – he’s on the small side, at least, and some large blue flitters will make him appear even more miniscule. His wings are proportioned well to his body, so that he’ll actually be rather graceful in flight – perhaps even ‘pretty’ to behold; he’s definitely one of the better acrobats in the air, particularly for his color. Bronzes will doubtlessly envy his twists and turns, and greens will undoubtedly find him impressive to behold. He has a somewhat short neck that emphasizes his perfectly sized head, sloping nose and properly shaped eyes; when he’s happy, they almost appear large, most assuredly innocent, and at the worst of times, mischievous. He’s utterly incapable of being frightening, or glaring in any way. Not that he’s likely to want to. His biggest flaw comes in the fact that he’s not quite as slender as some firelizards, so fitting between crevices will be difficult – but not impossible, should he put his mind to it.
An explosion of chocolate makes up the brown firelizard’s hide. Rather than one solid color, he literally looks as if he rolled in cake batter, complete with dark and lighter shades that don’t quite cover his whole body. From smears of sweet, powdery brown that smear over his back and wings, to speckling of dark chocolate over his feet, he’s definitely a mingling of color that makes him unique. His face is, primarily, the same deep coffee-brown shade, with red undertones, that makes him unique – but there’s a very light shade of brown that ‘masks’ his eyes, almost making him look like a bandit in the night. Completing his delicious exterior is a honeyed shade that swirls in ringlets over his tail as if he dunked it into a vat of caramel – which, really, isn’t that out of character for this little guy…
Personality:
Simply put: this firelizard loves babies, probably more than is natural. He’ll spend a lot of time in the crèche or at hatchings, cooing at the newborns with the glee of a child in a candy store. Children are equally loved – human, firelizard, salamandyr, wher, feline, the works; he just adores young creatures of any kind and will usually go out of his way to chitter at them whenever he has an opportunity. Singing is a pastime of his because he loves to sing to babies and, thankfully, he isn’t that bad at it, though His might be wise to try and keep him from doing it too often – the public probably won’t like hearing a squeaky flit constantly. And people with small children probably won’t like him hovering, no matter how well-meaning he is, simply because he doesn’t understand the concept of babies having to sleep. They’re so cuuuute. They have to know that they’re cute. Love love love love love!
The biggest problem with loving babies so much? He wants one of his own. Unfortunately for His, this means she has to provide him with one, and it will be a constant request of this firelizard’s. Why isn’t she egg-heavy yet, he’ll wonder, flashing images of egg-heavy queens to emphasize his point. Obviously, this must be because His does not have an adequate mate, and it’s up to this little brown to fix that! So he will see it as his responsibility to find his mindmate an adequate mating partner, scouring the Weyr for any potential male who could make a good clutchsire. His will be constantly bombarded with images of potential mates from the mass public of the Weyr, and these individuals will be harassed with images of His as well – look, isn’t she lovely, don’t they want to make babies with her? Please, please, please? Who cares if the male in question is taken. Certainly not him. He wants babies.
This fixation spreads to other aspects of his life as well. Always fond of baby anything, he will insist on attending any and every hatching or birth that occurs – and he’ll make His come too, whether she likes it or not. And as far as chasing goes, only those that can provide him with babies will do. Unfortunately, he seems to have forgotten that he’s a firelizard. See, this little brown will chase golds only… but gold creatures of all kinds – be it firelizard, salamandyr, wher, or even dragon. He’s not particular. Golds are the best. And if they happen to have a male mindmate…? That’s even better. Babies, babies, babies!
