Burena grinned at W'ri's answer. If that was true, and she did trust W'ri so it probably was, she had a better chance this time around. Maybe her dragon was waiting for her!
She glanced at the late candidates, but didn't care about their tardiness. If people were late, it was their own business, and maybe they had a good reason. She turned her attention back to the lecture. When W'ri offered writing and reading lessons, she made a mental note to ask him about that later. Burena knew how to read, but she wasn't that good at it. Some lessons would be nice, but she wasn't going to ask in front of everyone.
She listened as the candidates began to introduce themselves. Venus, Pasine, and Danar she knew; the others were new. She offered each of them a friendly smile, particularly friendly for Lanthos.
When Rozen sat down, Burena bounced up. "Hi! I'm Burena. I'm from Selenitas Hold, too. I'm a dragon candidate, and I've stood once before. I don't have any pets, but I'd like to Impress a flitt. Random fact..." she considered for a moment. "I can write with my toes." Finished, she sat down again.
