"RISHIN, NO! ON BY, ON BY!" Some how, his Canine had been able to catch, accidentally released and then proceeded to chase a small rodent like creature. The candidate had been chasing after Rishin for the last ten minutes, cutting into his chore time greatly. All he had wanted to do when he woke up from his nap was get his chores over with without anything going amiss. Normally, Rishin was completely placid and obeyed his commands, but there was something about the creature she chased that set her off. As soon as they entered the main hall, Eliah was overwhelmed with a feeling that something bad was about to happen. "RISHIN! ON BY!" He was panting heavily. Chasing a dog that was bred to run had taken a tole on his body. Eliah himself had not been put on Pern to run, he was in fact, a really bad runner.
"RISHIN!" Stumbling after his dog into the kitchen, Eliah watched in horror as his Canine knocked into a cabinet on which a bag of flour had been stored. He couldn't let that bag hit the floor! Rushing forward, the Candidate reached the cabinet a minute too late to stop the flour from falling but fortunately the bag managed to stay on top of the cabinate... but not its contents. He closed his eyes as a flurry of white powder fell like an avalanche, layering thickly over both his head and body. He stood still for a moment before carefully opening his eyes... at least the horrible crashing that his Canine had been making had stopped. Closing his eyes again, Eliah attempted to rid his head of the flour by shaking it, which only sent him into a sneezing fit. He did his best to stop sneezing when a large, firm hand clamped down on his shoulder.
"You! Look at this mess! Is this your pup?!"
Cringing as he slowly turned around, Eliah glanced down at the excited face of Rishin before nodding. "I-I'm sorry. She normally isn't so rambuncious... she was casing a-a critter and it set her off. I-I am really sorry about the m-mess. Let me tie her up... and... and I'll clean this all up."
"Oh, you will clean this up. But not until you switch into clean clothing! I will not have you tracking flour all over my kitchen!"
Wincing as the angry cook grabbed his ear in her free hand, Eliah let himself be dragged to the closest closet and stationed right out side the door. Where he was left clinging onto his Canine, who found it necessary to try and lick the flour off of his face. "Stop it Ri, you got us in big trouble. I'm going to have to work for hours just to get all of the powder off of the floor." The woman returned with a pair of tan breaches and a brown tunic, both looked as though they were three times larger than the size he actually wore.
"Here put these on. I'll tie up this pup outside. There is a broom in the closet when you're done."
Wincing again, Eliah nodded before exchanging his dog for the clothes, stepping into the closet to change. A few moments later he emerged looking much like a child dressed in his father's clothing. The pants were not as bad as he expected, but he still needed his belt to keep them up. The shirt on the other hand, was large, it dwarfed him in its fabric-y softness. Rolling up his sleeves, the candidate folded his dusty clothing before putting them outside near his Canine. She'd guard them for him, even if she was still excited from her chase. Re-entering the kitchen, Eliah grabbed the broom the Cook had pointed out earlier and stared at the mess that the flour had made. "Oh dear..."
