Humans:
Permission to use Chace Crawford from Ruby <3
Name: Aleksandr Alias: Sandr (pronounced like Zander) Age: Twenty Seven Gender: Male Sexual Orientation: Homosexual Rank: Brown Handler // Guardwher Physical Appearance:
As appearances go, he is pretty damned fit. Not body builder fit mind you, but he can definitely hold his own. His body type is actually sort of lean, but thanks working out a bunch he molded his lithe frame into something a lot more durable. His arms are the biggest since he likes to challenge himself by lifting heavy things and it sort of broadens his shoulders so he doesn't look as much as a little wimp. He definitely looks like a guy who had to work for a strong body, rather than some who are literally built strong. He is an average size for a guy standing at a five foot eleven.
His hair is a brown, with natural bronze/copper highlights -- really only seen in direct sunlight. Its short enough that it doesn't really go far past his ears... and long enough that if its actually groomed it would fall into his eyes. Its always just brushed aside, never super messy but it has that nice windswept look..
Sandr wears whatever is comfortable that is appropriate for the season, meaning less clothing in the summer months (unless he has to wear any sort of handler armor), and he will be very, very bundled up in the winter months.
His eyes are a bright blue with an almost grey tinge, his eyes tend to hold all his emotion. If he's upset about something, and he's smiling anyway... his eyes are normally key indicators that his smile is pretty much just a lie. So as you can imagine he is probably the world’s worst liar. His face can be totally serious but his eyes would just... be laughing at you or whatever (and he's a really bad liar).
His skin tone is not really tanned... but not really pale. Its that odd happy medium where you will definitely notice if he pales or got a really nice (or not so nice) tan.
Personality:
Aleksandr is a fairly outgoing person, he isn't against introducing himself to someone he happens to be stuck with. Or if he spots someone looking pretty damned sad, it is the perfect time to go over there and say hello. A bit of a social butterfly by nature, he doesn't really enjoy being by himself so he always forces his company on others -- wanted or not. Nope. His father probably enabled that behavior, never normally shooing the child away whenever he wanted attention. Sandr tends to intentionally ignore the fact that you don't want him there. Even if you were pretty blunt about it... he would use this against you just to be an ass.
He is a nice guy, but he can come off as rude due to a slight foot in mouth syndrome. He's not afraid to tell you what he's thinking, unless it’s about his own personal problems, but anything he thinks about you is fair game. His brain does have a filter funny enough it really just depends on whether he likes you right off the bat. But if he's inebriated or feeling an extreme negative emotion, that filter backs off and whatever is on his mind may be spewing out of his mouth (especially when angry). With that in mind, he can have a bit of a short temper, in this case he can pretty much be called a hypocrite. Aleksandr is sometimes egotistical, and arrogant – there is a fine line between confidence and pride when it comes to Sandr. Otherwise he’s an overall happy person, normally wearing a cheerful/charming smile on his face
Sandr tends to trust a little too easily. He's a pretty optimistic person, and well... he hasn't learned yet that there are people who aren't all that sincere. Until then he will let almost anyone in, they may not be privy to all his feelings but he'll be as loyal as if you were close friends. Whether this makes him a good person or a complete fool, it doesn't really matter.
He does fairly well at keeping a straight face while around others, if he's pissed or upset and would rather keep it to himself, he generally can. He will act differently of course, trying his best to keep his voice stable and light... but he may end up being snippy or curt. If you don't push him or piss him off further he will be fine.
Over all he's a loyal guy and a hard worker when given something to do. He loves to push buttons just to see what people do... it may get him hit -- but if it doesn't its funny as hell.
History:
Aleksandr was born in 2996 to a Harper and a Healer in Hyphen Hold, he was an only child... and a sociable one at that. So he’d bother his parents whenever he could, or if there were any neighboring children. His mother was less lenient, but his father would soak up all the attention never pushing the child away (unless he was busy). His father could play music, as well as teach within his respectable craft. At a young age he began to teach Sandr how to play the guitar, since Aleksandr had a lot of energy he thought it was a good idea to focus on something else. This of course was outside any true craft teaching... more of a hobby for the boy before he was able to get into a craft.
Though the age to choose a craft sort of came and went, both his parents tried to push him in one of their directions. Aleksandr would try to duck out of these conversations as much as he could, because well... he didn’t want to pick sides. As silly as it was, his parents did argue over it constantly... so the best way to not deal with it was to avoid it altogether.
In the year 3010 when he turned fourteen there was a wher hatching. Now while he was more interested in Dragons, he wanted to see what the whers were all about. He did see the mean looking creatures from time to time, though not very often and was highly curious. When he got there, it was hours before the eggs were due... and well they were short candidates. He was asked if would stand for the clutch, since they wanted to prevent as many wild whers as they could. Since he was at a point in his life where he didn’t know what he wanted... he agreed – not really expecting to impress.
He was approached by a large... mean looking Brown who stared at him with cold expectant eyes. Aleksandr was told not to hesitate, so as much as he really didn’t want to slice his hand... he did and offered it to him. The wher paused as if he was debating something, eyes boring into Sandr’s blue ones. Though what seemed like forever, the brown wher lapped up the blood pooling in Aleksandr’s trembling hands. It was known at that moment, that this wher was named Alesk. He was warned that since he didn’t take on Sandr’s full name... the bond could possibly be easily broken.
That wasn’t the case. Well it could have been... but Alesk was so stupidly stubborn that he wouldn’t break their bond even if he tried. Alesk challenged Aleksandr constantly pushing him to be better, and in turn Sandr was pushing Alesk to not be so damned aggressive. This was like a never ending storm, the wherlingmasters thought that this pairing wouldn’t work. But like any storm, there was a possible breaking point... and then it was over and the clouds parted. The pair finally came to an understanding as soon as Sandr finally took a stand for himself.
They graduated and Aleksandr became a fully fledged handler, starting out helping at the mines. Now while this wasn’t want he really wanted to do for his life... he had no choice now. The mines became his main work area, guarding the site as well as digging (well Alesk was digging) he was no miner. Though when things started to get tense, they bolstered their defences, meaning more whers were used to guard the hold rather than assist at the mines.
After all crafters were removed from the weyrs, they had a bunch of handlers who had left... come back. They eventually had more than enough handlers for... every job. As things settled Aleksandr was getting tired of the now crowded hold, well more than what he was used to that’s for sure. He figured since he didn’t have a craft he’d be able to help out at Selenitas Weyr, maybe pick up the slack where there was some. Weyr life would be something new, and possibly challenging... and that’s pretty much all he wanted right now – apart from helping out the “local” weyr.
So he made the transfer.

Name: Alesk Color: Brown [39270F] Age: Fourteen Turns
Physical Appearance:
Alesk is like most brown wher’s, big and bulky because that’s what he has to be no exceptions. He does look it too, very wide that is with a thick neck and legs. This wher doesn’t really walk, he sort of lumbers around – menacingly of course, with a swagger. His lumbering form does limit how fast he can actually run, but with all that bulk he does have a lot of stamina. So if he can’t win with speed, he can win with pure stubbornness and stamina (as well as a few not so nice gestures to the other chasers). The ridges along his spine are all different sizes, some are long and...dangerous looking where some others are not so much. They sort of have a hill pattern short for a few and then they gradually get longer before they shorten up again. His head is large and his snout is longer than normal with his bottom teeth poking out from his lips.
He is very much a Brown wher, mainly bi-colored. A lighter brown is his main coloring, but he has a much darker brown almost black marking him. That dark brown colors the top of his head and the tip of his snout like a mask. Any of the ridges along his spine are also this dark brown, the tips of his toes as well as the stripes that cover some of his body.
Alesk carries himself with a definite arrogant pride, he is better than you and he knows it. Since Alesk isn’t able to strut, he swaggers instead. His head is constantly held high, and it seems he’s always looking “down” at you. His handler has been victim of this stare since the very beginning, and no one is spared... apart from any gold’s since they out rank them.
Personality:
Alesk... is not a happy wher, or at least he doesn’t seem to display any emotions of happiness, or anything along those lines at all. It’s not like he isn’t happy or anything, he just doesn’t show these emotions like his handler happens to do. The only one who will ever know if he’s happy or not is his handler since he can’t hide anything from him even if he really tried (there are always tells). Aleksandr is about as much happiness Alesk can handle all at once, and will dislike being in the company of anyone remotely like his handler.
His body language is very very obvious as he relies heavily on it to get his point across to anyone other than his handler. If you can’t read body language they have color changing eyes for a reason, don’t know the difference then get out of his face. Even with Aleksandr, Alesk is pretty serious and their bond is rarely colored with humor -- though when he does, his jokes tend to be more subtle. Aleksandr tends to pick up on these “jokes” fairly easily, since they are directed at him. They tend to be a little dark and morbid since one of Sandr’s fears is blood (ironically enough). All he needs to do is send him an image of something pretty gory or just of blood in general.
Alesk does have a very violent streak, but he has gotten in the habit (thanks to his much kinder Handler) to warn them at least once if something is bothering him to dangerous levels. But they only get one warning before he does something about it. When he was younger he was much more volatile, which is why Sandr got him into the habit of warning his victims before punishing. Though even Sandr knows that if someone Alesk cares about is in danger, or something His cares about is in danger there will be no hesitation.
