“I’m sooooo bored!” L’am wailed from his prone position on his couch. All overlong, lanky limbs that didn’t seem to fit properly, sprawled out as he was. The main sighed dramatically, twisting his head back to eye Jeth, who was equally sprawled out on his ledge. Hey, like rider, like dragon. The difference was, the lazy blue actually fit. With ledges massive enough to fit a bronze dragon comfortably, Jeth had little problems sleeping with room to spare. Now though, thanks to his overdramatic rider, he wasn’t sleeping. One eye opened, swirling an irritated red intermingled with blue. Then find something to do. He rumbled simply, snorting and letting his head fall to the sun drenched ledge with a huff.
L’am blinked, clearly not expecting such disregard from his mindmate. He half fell, half scrabbled from where he had been laying, disturbing the firelizards sleeping on him. Cas chirruped sadly. He couldn’t even get any sleep in this awful world. He hoped his would be happy when he died of exhaustion, and blinked to between. Sam sighed lightly, settling on the back of the couch, eyeing the spot where Cas had disappeared. He would be back, wouldn’t he? The giant brown mused, eyes focusing on L’am. The man had scrabbled over to the mass of dark blue dragon, sprawling himself out over it.
“Jethhhhhh.” He whined, pulling himself over the dragon until they were eye to eye. The blue stubbornly didn’t open his eyes. “C’mon. Stop being lazy. I won’t get off if you don’t look at me.” Jeth growled softly, shuffling his wings in an attempt to dislodge his rider, but L’am held on tight, looking much too smug for Jeth’s liking. What do you want. I’m sleeping. “You’re always sleeping…but that’s not the point. Listen.” He rapped on the dragon’s headknob, pulling himself into the crook of the blue’s body and sitting indian style. “I wanna go back to Selenitas for the day. T’san needs me.” Jeth looked decidedly unammused, and he shifted uncomfortably. Why do you think Dsoleth’s needs you? He’s a big boy. The lanky man sighed. “Again. Not the point. Without A’emi there, he needs someone to drag him out of his funk. I don’t even know why I’m explaining this to you.” He sighed, stretching out and resting his head on Jeth’s neck. I don’t know either.
“C’mon. Take me. You can sleep on Dsoleth’s ledge when we get there. I’m sure he’ll let you.” Jeth lifted his head, causing L’am to fall back. Kyrahth won’t be there, will she? He rumbled warily. L’am scrambled to his feet, hand’s on the dragon’s side. “Probably not. But don’t mention her. We’re trying to help them, not traumatize them."
Jeth growled, slowly rising to his feet. Do I have a choice? “Not really.” L’am said brightly, jumping up. Sam crooned urgently, and the man glanced over. “Well, are you coming with me or staying here?” The brown chirruped and leaped off the couch, landing heavily on the man’s shoulder and pulling his limbs in tightly. L’am half frowned. “You’re so fat, Sammy. Soon you’re going to be as big as Jeth.” He felt the dragon rumble under him as he mounted. I don’t appreciate your fat jokes. Really. I’m going to take you to Selenitas out of the goodness of my heart, and you call me fat. You’re an awful person…and an awful rider. He tried to twist his head around, but the angle was awkward, and he only got his head halfway around…but he was looking somewhere pointedly, and L’am knew the gaze was meant for him. I hope you know this. “So you’ve said.” L’am said, grinning broadly. “Just go.” He half whined and without warning the blue took a flying leap off his ledge, frightening L’am appropriately before he spiraled above the weyr before disappearing into between.
When they appeared over Selenitas, L’am was frowning. “You could have given me warning.” There was an amused grumble from the dragon. What lesson would that have taught you? L’am was still frowning as the dragon found a tunnel and slipped into the weyr. The halls were still familiar to the pair, even after living at Inverness. Jeth spiraled for a second, searching out Dsoleth. Dsoleth? You there? Mine wants to visit your’s. Is he decent? I don’t know if that would stop him though, honestly.

T'san was a passable singer. He had never received a complaint even if he had never received a request either. He was most assuredly not even trying to sound good at that moment though. Meaning he was slightly off-key at best, and singing loudly too. His neighbours probably weren't very appreciative if they were in...which, okay, why would they be? The one that gave him goosebumps because something just seemed wrong about her, Iskierka, was almost always out of her weyr. And his other neighbour was A'emi and he knew for a fact that the greenrider had gone off somewhere earlier in the day. It kind of sucked having an ex living right next door. Like, really.
But he was avoiding thinking about that. That shit just hurt too much to keep in his head, even if he couldn't quite scrape it out of his heart. So, back to singing. "Iiiii've got a lovely bunch of coconuts!" He belted out as loudly as he could, not having to feel the meagre guilt of disturbing anyone but his pets. Not that most of them minded. Castiel was mystified by the singing and totally enchanted up on his perch. Svelte was out and about somewhere having been driven out by the singing and the sheer number of lies Hers was spouting. And Spice? Well he was meowing and trying to catch the bootlaces on T'san's boots as he fair twirled around his weyr.
"There they are a-standin' in a roooow," he continued, getting almost dizzy. Almost. His own singing distracted him from listening in on Dsoleth perking up at the sound of Jeth's mindvoice. Good day, Jeth. We are at our weyr, yes. You and Yours are always welcome here...even if Mine is being an absolute loon at the moment, the brown said warmly, shifting over on his ledge to accomodate another. The brown had a tendency to sprawl over as much of it as he physically could - and he was a large brown - when he didn't have to share. Without a Kyrahth to share with anymore that was almost always, unless Jeth or another friend came by.
T'san could only be so oblivious and as he came to the end of the coconut size line he heard dragon wings and spun so that he could see who it was paying him an impromptu visit. "Give 'em a TWIST and a flick o' the WRIST!" He all but shouted at his friend over the sound of a dragon settling on the ledge of his weyr next to Dsoleth. "Thaaaaat's whaaaaat the showmaaaaan saaaaaid!" The last line was belted out almost as a greeting and T'san gave an entirely too-cheerful bow towards L'am and Jeth.

That’s a good thing, because Mine is determined to make Yours feel better. Jeth rumbled as he ended his tight spiral to level out to T’san’s ledge, tipping his head politely to Dsoleth as his paws touched the ledge. The blue folded in his wings and crouched so his rider could dismount. Unfortunately, it seemed, T’san didn’t have any intentions of dismounting just yet. He was watching T’san’s performance with a wry twist of his lips, finally deciding to slide off of the blue’s bulk onto the ledge as the brownrider’s song was ending.
Sam chirped curiously at the song, tilting his head and eyeing T’san curiously. It was kinda nice. L’am flashed T’san a wide grin, clamming his hands. “Best thing I’ve heard all day. Jeth really is awful company. He sleeps far too much.” At the words, the blue rumbled lightly, staring intently at L’am’s back for a moment like he was contemplating pushing him over into T’san…and he really was. At length, the blue straightened up, spreading his wings as much as he could and tipping his head to Dsoleth. Sorry to run like this, but I have a feeling Mine’s going to be here for a while and I have /no/ desire to sit around while he insults me. I think I’ll go find Chakraith and visit with her. And be “visit” he totally meant sprawl out all over her and fall asleep. With that, Jeth turned and dropped off the ledge, falling before he snapped his wings open to spiral upwards again.
At the shifting behind him, L’am turned to watch Jeth go with the barest of amusement in his eyes. “Seems I’ve been abandoned.” He said with mock hurt in his voice. Pouting slightly, he turned quickly to T’san, his grin wiping the pout off his face. “But I have something that’ll make both of us feel better.” Opening the pouch on his side, L’am pulled out the bottle of alcohol he’d brought.
It was like he’d been summoned…really, at the mere mention of alcohol, Cas appeared in the air above them, making mournful sounds and coming to rest on T’san’s shoulder, eyeing the booze hopefully. Oh, would his be so kind as to supply him with some of the wonderful numbing liquid? This world is too awful to bear alone.
L’am eyed the blue firelizard for a moment. It wouldn’t take him long to get drunk, then maybe he’d stop being so incredibly wold weary for a while. He didn’t think that maybe it wasn’t a great idea to supply his firelizard with alcohol.
Oh well.
He turned to T’san with a hopeful look in his eye. “Whaddya say? Don’t make me drink it all by myself. I don’t think that’d be very pretty.”

Dsoleth snorted and brushed Jeth's mind with the feeling that his was a total idiot. Good luck to Yours with that. My Idiot remembers far too long and far too well. They are rather sad creatures at times, no? The brown asked, his question mostly joking with the lazy blue. His own company was rather short-lived, though, because L'am preferred the company of one blue female over babysitting the pair of riders. Dsoleth was of a rather like mind so there was nothing ungenuine about what he said, Have a pleasant visit, I feel no ill will for your hasty departure. In fact, he was about to make his own. He was rather hungry now that he thought about it.
"As have I," T'san responded with a faint laugh, watching Dsoleth drop off the ledge a few moments after Jeth. "Something about not wanting to babysit us." T'san grinned when he registered what the bottle L'am had was. "Well then, I can't blame them for leaving, even if they didn't know about that little gem you have there." L'am's blue firelizard appeared then and T'san barely even batted an eyelash at him landing on his shoulder. Castiel was notorious for popping up without any warning whatsoever so he was quite used to other firelizards doing so too. Mostly because he automatically thought they were Castiel at first anyway.
It wasn't Castiel but the brownrider reached up to try and give the blue a pet because he just sounded so sad. "I know what you mean, little guy," he muttered quietly for the firelizard alone. T'san was nothing if not good at putting up fronts and keeping others from being burdened with his woes. Which, really, was all he had been doing for the last little bit. His friends could tell still but to most of the weyr he looked well and truly over his break up with A'emi. But anyway, there was alcohol and a L'am present. That was taking precedence over moping for a while.
"Like I could actually let you have all of that by yourself. You probably wouldn't be too unpretty after only a bottle but I'll spare us from having to find out," T'san said happily. "C'mon, open 'er up and we can see who outdrinks who...again?" Because it was hardly the first time and probably not the last time he and L'am had been drinking buddies. The guy was a lot of fun and a great friend - T'san counted himself lucky that he had such a friend. Not that he didn't somehow have a lot of close friends but he certainly appreciated them all.

L’am glanced back around as Dsoleth too, disappeared off of the ledge. His grin widened and he turned back to T’san for a moment. “Our dragons are jerks.” He said solemnly as he could while he approached T’san with the bottle, casting a glare at Cas…who seemed pleased with just lounging on T’san’s shoulder, getting scratches and looking at the bottle expectantly. The blue placed his forepaws on the brownrider’s ear and just let him scratch him for a second, shooting glances at L’am…who knew that this was the firelizard’s was of trying to make him jealous…but it didn’t work. The bluerider just cast a dazzling grin in their direction.
“I’m sure that I could get more if I needed to.” L’am was pretty good about finding alcohol. He was pretty sure his friend had some around here somewhere, and if he didn’t? It wouldn’t be too hard to find more. There was always someone with something to drink around here. Still, he didn’t waste much time approaching T’san and unscrewing the cap, taking a long swig and grabbing the brownrider’s arm. He attempted to pull him down so that they were both sitting on the floor, because drinking was so much better when you didn’t have to worry about stupid things like standing and balance. Then he handed the bottle over, his back against T’san’s couch.
“So, what’s up, man? Haven’t been here in a while.” And you know, he wasn’t asking T’san to talk about A’emi. That would just make him a shitty friend. He just really wanted to know what was up with him and if that answer made him uncomfortable, than they could surely come up with something better to talk about. They always seemed to.
Cas blinked at the bottle. Stretching his neck out towards it. He was tempted to just flare his wings and flap them at T’san’s face until he’d dropped the bottle so that he could swoop down and drink all of the lovely alcohol. But T’san was nice…well, as nice as anyone could be in a doomed world, and he knew his would yell at him. So he just chirruped sadly, staring at the bottle. Sam rolled his eyes and curled up in L’am’s lap, letting the bluerider scratch him just right there between his wings. What? It felt good!

T'san nodded in response to L'am's words, fighting hard (and failing) to keep his amusement off his face for a few seconds. He gave up pretty quick but at least he wasn't laughing as he said in agreement, "Yes, big, huge jerk dragons." Paws on his ear itself were a bit unusual and more than a little distracting...because it kind of tickled, okay? He tried subtly to scratch and pet the blue off his ear and back into a slightly less distracting position but he wasn't about to kick the sad little guy off his shoulder. Getting kicked while you were down was really about the worst thing in the world...minus whatever reason you might have had for being down in the first place. Not that L'am's blue firelizard ever seemed to be happy.
The brownrider grinned roguishly at the mention of more alcohol. It wasn't like he didn't have his own - admittedly small - stash hidden away. His was a bit depleted recently though, the brownrider taking a swig every now and then if he caught himself thinking a bit too much. "Yeeeah, finding more won't be a problem if we need more," T'san admitted, not the least bit guilt-ridden about that fact. He had a pretty high tolerance for alcohol so having a few drinks every now and then really didn't affect him much. He was really glad that L'am had a high tolerance too or drinking regularly with him might have been pretty awkward, what with one being drunk and the other possibly not quite there.
"I have a couch y'know," T'san said laughingly when L'am tugged at him to sit on the stone floor. The brownrider acquiesced to the silent demand anyway, reaching towards the other man once he was seated so that he could take a pull from the bottle. Already enjoying the easy atmosphere, he didn't baulk too much at L'am's question. Chances were small that he wasn't trying to get T'san to talk about the break up but he was rather more interested in having a good time for a bit. "Yo, dude, I'm a free man again," he said, trying to keep it light but he couldn't keep eye contact, giving himself away. "How 'bout you? Hook up with any pretty northern ladies yet? Been there long enough."
T'san blinked at the blue's reaction to the bottle of alcohol. "Uh, this little guy like this stuff?" He asked L'am. At the same time he was pretty much asking if he had permission to give the blue some - he wouldn't poison someone else's mindmate without at least asking first, after all. Castiel floated down to land next to the brownrider, curious enough of the proceedings that he wanted a closer look. The brown was quickly snatched and pulled onto the brownrider's legs with a little startled huff. He settled a little tensely on His, admittedly appreciating the view it provided him.
