Name: J’ash
Age: 28
Birthday: November 4th, 2995
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Rank: Bluerider
Physical Appearance:
The first thing people notice about J’ash is that he looks like a girl. In fact, most people would assume that he is a female upon first sight. Fawn-coloured, dark blonde hair flows like silk down his back, arrow-straight and trimmed to perfection. His bangs frame his face and do a good job at hiding the faded lines of scars that run across his forehead and down his cheek. Clearly, the most important thing to J'ash is his hair.
Over the past few years, J’ash has been training harder to work against his muscle building genetics, and has visibly toned up and very slightly increased in muscle bulk. Although he is naturally too thin, getting into shape has helped counter this effect. Sun-kissed skin stretches over these newfound muscles. Time has worked its magic on said scars that litter J’ash’s body, fading their appearance despite their permanent residence.
The Bluerider is simply gorgeous, a lithe man with a tall stature. His frame looks as though it was intended for a female, but someone switched his gender at the last second. His thin brows, crystalline gray eyes, slightly flat nose, and high cheekbones give him a pretty face. Indeed, J’ash can be a very convincing as a girl, especially if he wears a dress. His female alter-ego is known as Jerashina, or Shina for short.
His age is not yet starting to show, although in a few years, the grays are bound to start showing up. J’ash cherishes his youth and dreads the aging process, preferring to avoid thinking about his age at all.
Personality:
J’ash can still overreact at times, but the Bluerider has calmed down quite a bit over the past several years; however, Craivaruth’s jealousy, anger, and mistrusting personality can still bleed through onto his bonded. Perhaps the worst outcome of one of J’ash’s outbursts would be a punch to the jaw of the offender (which would hurt quite a bit now, since said Bluerider has become more fit).
Over time, J’ash has learned that perhaps trust isn’t something that should be shared with everybody. While he is still friendly to most, the gray-eyed beauty is slightly weary of strangers and acquaintances, learning to not be quite so gullible. A history of falling into traps has taught him to be more careful about those he spends most of his time with.
Stubbornness can completely control J’ash at times, causing him to be very reckless and impulsive. Even if he is outweighed in strength, speed, and intelligence, he will still throw himself into the situation if he believes it is for the greater good. Usually, this behaviour results in him being injured both emotionally and physically, but sometimes his stupid bravery can be a good thing. (It usually isn’t.) This ‘stupid bravery’ infinitely increases around J’on, the man he is in love with. J’on is J’ash’s entire world; without him, the Bluerider would descend into chaos and numbness. Despite his heaping pile of bravery, he is easily freaked out, and will often panic, causing action to occur before thought.
Although the blonde is usually open-minded and free-spirited, this attitude becomes truly prominent upon intoxication with alcohol. He will gladly wear a dress provided he is given one, and will act like a female. Sadly, he is very good at this; so good, in fact, he can convince other males that he is indeed a hot woman. He takes pleasure in this while drunk, but will be rather ashamed upon sobering up.
The Bluepair are used to experiencing disappointment and failure; having come to realize that this will probably never change, their collective skin has grown thicker. If something fortunate does happen, however, it is met with an overexposure of happiness and relief.
History:
Born and raised in a cothold near Blossom Hold, Jerash grew close to his two-turn-younger brother, Kisaen. He led a fairly uninteresting life; he helped his father, Sashen, and mother, Kijera, run the small farm they owned. Kisaen never shut up about dragons and how cool they were, and how, one day, he would ride a dragon. Jerash knew that Kisaen's physical condition would restrict him from fulfilling his dream. Kisaen was lame; his leg deformity meant that Jerash’s little brother had to have a crutch at all times or otherwise be rendered immobile.
One August evening, Jerash decided to go on a hike with Kisaen, carrying his little brother on his back. They hiked for the first – and last – time together. Trying to make his brother happy, Jerash strayed from his usual path. The sun set quickly, and a feline set in on them. The future Bluerider was very lucky to make it out alive; but by the time he had reached home, his brother lay dead in his arms.
Jerash was thrown into a great depression after the death of the person he had grown closest to. Jerash vowed to try his hardest to become a Dragonrider in the name of Kisaen. His parents, mourning over their youngest son’s death, supported Jerash’s vow.
Jerash was Searched by Farryl of Green Peppeth in his mid-late adolescent turns. Shortly after his arrival, he Stood as a Candidate at Millieth and Hepaticath’s Hatching of 3014. He bonded to the dragon that emerged from the red and black Abandonment Egg and became J’ash of Blue Craivaruth. Within the next while J’ash stumbled upon J’on of Green Rinagth in the bathing springs. Their relationship eventually grew to become more than a one night stand. It has survived to almost a decade thus far despite some bumps in the road.
J’ash’s bonded family grew in number to include four Brown firelizards over various firelizard Hatchings: Vomit, Tux, Drama, and Blurm. He also purchased a mystery egg at a Gather in Blossom Hold which hatched his green and purple obnoxiously loud Darter bird, Ilea.
Within the same Turn of Craivaruth’s hatching, fellis was put into Selenitas River. Thankfully, Craivaruth was unaffected directly by the situation, though it did stress the Bluepair as it did the entire Weyr. The two helped to put out the fires started at the main hall by Fort invaders when said Fortian riders attacked Selenitas for the High Reaches refugees.
J’ash’s world was tossed upside down when Wasteland took over Selenitas; his concrete network of relationships fell apart when some of the Weyr fled to Burimyu. He despised the invaders, wishing that he could have done something to fight back. Neither he nor Craivaruth would have been strong enough to retaliate even if they had tenfold the power, so the pair grudgingly fell into place under the new Wasteland power. He slowly became friends with Wastelander Z’ves of Blue Lucith, trusting him where trust ought not have been issued. Luckily, Z’ves died before J’ash had fallen victim to one of his psychotic schemes.
J’ash suffered a heavy concussion in 3017 when a large earthquake hit Selenitas Weyr. Luckily, he was helped out of his collapsing room by his neighbour, T’san of Brown Dsoleth. He was treated by temporary medics (the Infirmary had been destroyed as the rest of the Weyr had), and fully treated at Burimyu Weyr. He suffered a completely shaved head when treated, something he would have been very upset about if he was in the right state of mind. J’ash suffered Post-Concussion Syndrome for just short of a turn, slowly recovering to his current normal state.
In 3019, when J’ash was completely healed, he fought in the Great War. Craivaruth’s anger and bloodlust made the pair an effective unit in combat despite the blue-green dragon’s difficulty with sustained flight. The pair's ruthless yet reckless fighting style earned a great plethora of new corporeal scars to both human and dragon. Some wounds suffered in the Great War were rather serious; however, thanks to the healing abilities of Erilena of Feyrianth and other various healers, the complications were kept to a bare minimum.
After the Great War ended in 3020, J’ash was extremely upset when he discovered that his lover was being separated from him by the new Summit; he and Craivaruth were to stay at New Selenitas Weyr, while J’on and Rinagth were to be placed in Inverness Weyr. While J’ash was still able to commute to visit his mate, the rift in distance and opportunities to see one another still causes the Bluerider disdain, and gives him all the reason in the world to still very much hate the Summit in 3023, the present.

Other:
Craivaruth (Cray-va-ruth) - Does not chase (Written by Tashe)
Personality: Aggressive. Craivaruth believes that he needs to prove himself worthy of being called a male. Because that is what he is. Incredibly sensitive about his situation, he gets volatile when teased by other Dragons. He has little patience for those around him who cannot see things as they are, those people and Dragons who wish to hide from the plain blatant truth. He does not operate on the same instinctual level that most Dragons do, his Impression to His influenced his young mind greatly, causing it to think more like a human. He has impulses that often cannot be satisfied, and when they can, he does not feel fully so. There is always something missing, and despite his yearning to find what it is, he can never find it. Craivaruth wants to do everything now, he will wait only if he has to, but if he doesn't... well he doesn't.
Of course, as with every Dragon. The Blue has all of his affections centered on his Rider, and is extremely close to them because he is close to no one else. Craivaruth is like a man who wants vengeance for something horrible that has been done to him, a vigilante with good if volatile intentions. Make no mistake, the Blue is good to the core. He can just see the injustices around him, and they frustrate him. He is calm, only in the presence of his Rider, when they are away from the rest of the Weyr. His will have travel away from the Weyr often, or find some other way to vent the insatiable frustration of their Dragon, otherwise something terrible might happen.
Appearance: If anything, Craivaruth is probably the most uniquely colored Dragon to grace Pern. Dark Teal on the upper half of his body, but as if to contrast the dark Blue hide, his lower half is bright green. This split in color dissects his entire body in half almost exactly, leaving many to guess whether he is a Blue with green or a Green with Blue. Despite the two different colors, Craivaruth has no other distinctive markings on his body. But on his head, there are small circles of dark blue and green that form a crescent around the sides of each of his multi-faceted eyes. His is in fact, almost matte in terms of shine, his hide never achieving the shine that most Dragons get when cleaned and oiled. So his Rider must rely on asking Craivaruth if he is sick, rather than depend on the dimness of his hide.
Small for a Blue, he rivals Large Greens for length, only growing about twenty-four feet upon maturity. Craivaruth has a large body with a short neck and tail to match it. Not completely ugly, the Blue has an oddly malevolent look about him. Long wings will make it hard for him to fly, but with time and training, he will be able to fly well enough to fight thread. Black and white talons tip each of his toes, and instead of a split tipped tail, Craivaruth has a singular tip. In addition to his oddness, Craivaruth does not Chase, nor does he Rise. He leaves his Rider to find their own ways of Flying, he is not a tool you know.
Vomit - Brown Firelizard (created by Teddy)
Personality: Calm and solid, this sturdy fellow is most reliable. He will do just about anything asked of him, and happily. Extremely loyal, he will often follow his person all over the Weyr, or to wherever they might be going. Nothing is more important than his. Even if there is a flight happening, he will only participate beyond a reasonable doubt that his person is not only safe, but does not need him to do anything. He doesn't much care for the presence of other flitters near his, unless they also belong to his human. Strangers will get hissed at until they leave.
Oddly enough, he is also hyperactive when it comes to chasing other things that he perceives as a threat. This includes salamandyrs and felines. Both he will chase until they reach a certain perimeter from his human. If they do not run, he is not shy of biting or otherwise harassing them until they do run. If you didn't know better, you might think he was a miniature version of a canine, rather than actually a flitter.
Appearance: Very earthy in color, varying from tan-browns to black-browns in a very mottled fashion, he could most definitely vanish on a bare patch of ground if he ever bothered to sit that still or low for any period of time. Adding to the appearance of being made of a mass of kinds of mud, his hide is textured as well. Not at all smooth, he is quite bumpy all over, much like the surface of a lump of broken, dried mud. He absolutely loves to have his hide scratched, though, and will wiggle all over when he gets it.
His body is very compact, almost appearing shortened in all directions in proportion to his thick nature. It is quite obvious that he is not fat, though. Every ounce of his earthy self is dense muscle. If it were not for a great deal of that mass being centered on his chest and shoulders, it might almost have been a detriment to his ability to fly. But his flight muscles are arguably some of the biggest on his body. This brown is more than capable of moving objects that have some heft to them, and taking them between with him.
Ilea (Eye-leah) - Darter (created by Neeuqtar)
Physical Description: This darter is very, very tiny. Fully grown, it will weigh hardly as much as a pebble, with a long and slightly curving bill, wings as long as it, and a tiny little body. Brilliantly colorful, this blurwing is iridescent green, with each feather tipped in violet. This tipping is extreme enough on her neck and tail to give her a purple throat with green speckles, and a tail which bears a band of gorgeously deep violet color at the very end – a trait which is also visible in the violet barring of her wings. The feathers around her eyes are tiny and white, giving her a wide-eyed look. Her small size belies a huge voice and an enormous appetite. This darter feasts on fruit juice, eating often twice her weight or more a day, and has a loud beep call she makes whenever irritated or excited. Like all blurwings, she is capable of hovering and of flying backwards, as well as hairpin turns and speedy travel.
Personality: The entire character of this tiny creature could be summed up in one word: Bossy. This darter demands that everything be exactly as she desires, and will quite willingly fly up a whirlwind and scatter papers (or poop on them) to express her distaste, in addition to beeping at the top of her amazingly loud voice. Particularly in her putative owner's ear. This darter is convinced that she is queen of the world, and greatly enjoys perching on the headknobs of dragons, and of disturbing fire-lizards (particularly in Flight), who can never catch her due to her speed and agility. While she will never mate or lay eggs due to being raised by a human, this darter quite enjoys causing trouble with other creatures, and will eventually claim the entire Weyr as her territory, terrorizing everything within that dares mess with her perches and people. Luckily, she's far more of a nuisance than a real problem!
Contact Brown (created by Sym)
Name: Tux
Age: Hatchling
Species: Firelizard
Color: Brown #624300 - #d1bb56 - #7c3a00 - #eed587
Gender: Male
Based off of: Christmas
Looks to: J'ash
Appearance: For a brown, this firelizard is on the large side, though looking at him wouldn’t make it immediately obvious. He’s slender in built, which is distinctly reminiscent of his dam; when he’s not stretched out, he’ll probably look average for a brown at best. His build is unique in the respect that he has perfectly proportioned legs and slightly large wings – just large enough to be accent. His tail is thin and average length, with a slight hook at the end, so that it always seems to be bent slightly to the right. Elegantly sculpted is his face, bringing prominence to his slanted, decidedly masculine (and handsome!) eyes as well as the slight bumps of his ridges. The over-all impression of his looks is that he’s “softer” in features than the average male – not quite jagged, not quite defined – but still very obviously male; nothing about him could be described as overly “pretty.” His wings make him apt at flying long distances, but they fold and wrap around his body so perfectly that he could easily fit into tight spaces as needed – so he’ll never take up very much space. And he’ll easily be able to sneak into spots that most wouldn’t expect, if he tries.
Swirls of vivid color – indefinable and elegant, beautiful and handsome all at once, and definitely memorable. This is one brown that people will stop and gawk at – he’s probably one that even dragons will admire. A vivid, warm shade of brown makes up the majority of his hide, but to call him simply “brown” would be an insult. A network of lacey honey shades covers his body, adding texture and an almost metallic glint – easily enough to make some bronzes jealous, for it strongly resembles gold. The lace pattern covers his whole body and is most prominent over the laces of his wings, which become almost transparent when he flares them… except where the lace is. It’s literally like staring through golden lace. His legs are adorned with red-tinted ‘stockings’ that go up to the middle of them, almost as if someone put little socks on him to keep him warm. Finishing his look is a ring of golden-brown around his head that seems to be composed of tiny snowflake patterns that come to form a wide ‘bow’ at the base of his head: the perfect completion for an otherwise glorious firelizard.
Personality: ‘Sweet.’ That is the word that most people would use to describe this brown. Eager to help others – eager to be the best that he can – and always a wonderful listener, this is one flitter that most people will like. He’s very physically affectionate to his chosen (who will also quickly learn that his mental presence is ‘warm’ and ‘welcoming’ – like a good cup of klah in the dead of winter, or the gentle fluff of a furhide blanket to snuggle up to). He likes to lick, cuddle, and gently nudge. He has absolute control over his claws, to the point of being frightening, and he’s most assuredly one flitter who is incapable of violence. He would never hurt a fly. Ever. Even to defend his mindmate, he would not respond with any kind of violence. He chooses instead to try and placate people with kindness. He’s a pacifist. He hates fighting and will go out of his way to avoid it. Not because he’s weak – far from. He simply thinks that love and peace really are the way to go – and he’s charismatic enough that most people probably would agree with him. Let’s play instead, yes, yes? Between little twitters and musical flutes, it’s obvious this is one little guy who can communicate well. Mediator is his middle name.
And... He. Is. Irresistible! This firelizard loves to give gifts and receive them and his favorite thing to do is to find (not steal, as that would be taking it away from someone else) elaborate presents to bestow on people or creatures that he likes. No two gifts that he gives are alike, either, and it’s obvious that he puts a lot of thought into his ‘gifts’ for people. Everything fits in some way. He’s very good about remembering important dates and gifting for those too. Some firelizards bring trivial shiny rocks. This little guy is more likely to bring someone an elaborate flower, or a beautifully shaped leaf – something that reminds him of the one the gift is for. It always has to be perfect. If it’s not perfect, in his mind it is an insult.
Festivities and social gatherings attract this little brown. He likes anything where he can see a lot of people. Happy occasions are what he seeks, and he will doubtlessly haul His along to any of them that he can. Hatchings. Gathers. Feasts. Parties. All of them are things that he will attend with zeal – he likes big social occasions and he fits in them, chattering pleasantly and charismatically that he’s likely to make more friends than his mindmate is. He’s very fond of the eating too, and will often try to convince His to let him sample one of everything on the menu. Food is good, isn’t it? Must enjoy. But he isn’t a beggar and would never try to weasel food out of others. Gracious in accepting compliments, he returns every kind gesture given to him and he likes nothing more than to be around pleasant people/creatures and exchange his own pleasantries. Yes, warm is this little guy’s demeanor. Warm and welcoming – like a nice cup of hot cocoa. Which he’d really go for if you’re offering, thanks!
Name: Drama (created by Kisha)
Species: Firelizard
Colour: brown #ccac78 #331200
Appearance: This is a rather strange looking firelizard, he has bizarrely long legs in proportion to his body, and somehow he makes them into an asset. If he can get somewhere by walking he will, and rather than the ungainly gait that most dragon kin have on the ground this brown will prance like a showy runnerbeast, lifting his feet high and holding his neck elegantly arched. Aside from that one detail this is a perfectly formed brown firelizard, Just slightly on the large side, lithely muscular, and looking quite sleek and speedy enough in the air to outrace a green (he can’t but he looks it, and he knows it), because of his long legs his tail looks oddly short, and he always holds it curled to keep it out of the dirt.
This brown’s colour is not an easily forgettable one; his base shade is a wash of pale creamy brown that almost seems to swirl over his body as he moves. This strikingly pale shade is broken by random speckles of a much darker brown scattered over his body, this same dark shade rings each of his eyes and always manages to highlight his eye colour.
Personality: All eyes to him please! Nature has given him looks to draw attention and a personality that craves that attention, for this brown being at the centre of everyone’s mind isn’t just a desire, it’s a matter of life and death, can’t you see?! Every movement he makes is designed to attract the most attention it can, and although he isn’t clumsy he’s not above tripping over or flying into walls just for the sympathy it might provoke in people nearby. Generally he’s a friendly chap, always chirping and chattering, and quite prone to settling on any human’s shoulder to watch what they’re doing and ‘talk’ to them, especially children, they’re normally first in line to coo over a cute firelizard, cuddle him and feed him. However beware, if he can’t get positive attention this brown is quite happy to have negative attention instead and knows just how to inspire it, his tantrums could be the stuff of legend, and he is more than likely to bite or claw anyone who ignores him, and shriek in their ear while he’s at it.
With his flair for the dramatic it’s easy to overlook the fact that this is actually a very intelligent firelizard, his desire for attention makes him very easy to train, and he is quite capable and even willing to learn things for himself, certainly he will memorise which of the people he commonly sees will react best to what. He will even go out of his way to learn tricks and perform them for any willing audience.
This brown is certainly one that is light in love, he’ll flirt with any nearby female firelizard, salamandyr, wher, or dragon, very seriously indeed, why wouldn’t they all be charmed by his good looks and stunning personality? If they don’t take him seriously as well he’ll be just devastated that she doesn’t return his affection and threaten in very eloquent images to kill himself, normally by jumping off something high. No he hasn’t figured out that it’s not a very good threat from a creature with wings.
Destiny brown- looks to J'ash (created by Kisha)
Name: Blurm
Colour: Brown #6D5749 #DDC6B7#301C0E
Appearance: The majority of this brown’s hide is a dusty mid brown colour that’s oddly patterned, it looks like the cover of a leather bound book in fact, and it comes as some surprise to find that his hide feels like a normal firelizard hide and not like tanned leather. This subtle patterning breaks over his feet and face where his toes and his muzzle from the eyes down are covered in a pale brown shade. Oddly enough, though he seems to be able to see perfectly well, his eye colour always seems to be faded and slightly grey tinged, and to draw attention to this oddity his eyes are covered by a bandit mask marking of a dark brown that doesn’t appear anywhere else on his body.
In form he is a little odd, he’s a fairly tall firelizard but he looks like he was stretched out to his current size from a smaller one, with his legs being almost comically too long for his body. Somehow though he manages to carry it all off without looking too awkward, at least his legs are good at keeping out of the way of each other even if they do look clumsy.
Personality: He’s a mystery, an enigma, rarely seen, hardly heard and never caught. He likes to watch significant events, though what’s significant and what’s not he’ll decide more than likely based on whether it effects his bonded or not, but he’d never lower himself to getting involved unless it was absolutely necessary, necessity again, decided by him. He prefers to perch above the room and look down on the beings below, making observations which he will share only with his human in the form of sharp images accompanied by whatever thoughts he has on the matter.
He is affectionate, at least, in a distant sort of way, towards his bonded and those closest to his bonded, but that’s it, he’s hardly likely to even acknowledge anyone outside of that group unless he feels they need a little guidance. Guiding appears to be his business, whether it’s a life changing choice or just a case of finding the right direction, if he’s around, you can rely on this brown to help people along their way with an encouraging chirp, a little antagonism, or simply leading them in the right direction.
