Name: Olivia Age: 18 Turns Gender: Female Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual as far as she knows Rank: Bluerider
Physical Appearance
Though tall for her age, Olivia is a very petite little girl. She’s very long and lean, even as a child. Even so, her outward appearance isn’t anything extraordinary. She looks much like and twelve year old girl should look. Her legs are long and lean and only her face is a little bit round with youth, as any young girl’s usually is. Her skin isn’t especially pale, and she has a fine splattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose and cheeks. There’s enough there to be noticeable, but not enough to be considered a lot.
She has pretty hazel eyes that almost seem icy blue in the right light They are large eyes, but not abnormally so. Her hair is a light blonde, bordering on strawberry blonde. Most of the time, she carries an innocent, sort of happy expression. She dresses rather conservatively, mostly dressing for comfort than anything else. She doesn’t have a real sense of fashion and just puts whatever on.
Personality
Much of Olivia’s personality is still developing. What can I say? She’s a little girl and she likes to do little girl things. She’s innocent and exuberant and just fun to be around. I’d say for her age she has a pretty typical personality. Her past wasn’t extremely traumatic or anything, so she doesn’t carry a lot of baggage around with her. There is one thing that isn’t odd about her, she’s extremely shy around new people, but once she gets to know someone, she turns clingy. This is probably due to the fact that she loves her parents so much and misses them now that she’s alone in a big weyr all by herself. It might take her a while to really get to know someone, but when she does, she gets really attached to them, to the point where she’ll follow them around.
She’s almost always happy. It’s a crime to upset this little girl. Most people don’t like to see her cry, and she will if she’s upset because she’s very sensitive and very emotional. Unlike most people, she wears her heart on her sleeve and it’s possible to know what she’s thinking at any given moment just by looking at her. This girl is very chatty, though she’s shy she might find herself randomly chatting to an acquaintance. She loves everyone and it’s hard to get her to dislike someone though if that someone is ‘mean’ she might find reason
In short, Liv is a very hard person not to like. She’s endearing to most people and anyone with a maternal bone in their body will be drawn to her. She’s good at listening and following orders and isn’t shy about expressing her own feelings. She sweet and kind and extremely empathetic, and always believes in giving second chances. She can be a bit too trusting though, and usually isn’t picky about who she does trust. She’s gullible and naive, but not to the point of stupidity. She’s especially sensitive when someone seems to be upset for some reason in which case she’ll try and make them feel better. She has an extremely short attention span and is distracted rather quickly.
History
Olivia was born in Selenitas hold. Her parents weren’t especially high ranking. Her father was a healer and her mother was a journeyman harper. She grew up happily enough, the baby of the family. She had two older brothers who were also apprenticing in fields.
Liv herself was originally supposed to follow in her mother’s footsteps, showing an early aptitude with playing instruments and having a decent voice, but she was still young and as such her parents didn’t feel like choosing her future place in the hold for her. Regardless, just so they could say they were looking out for her, they trained her to become an apprentice in a craft of her choice when she grew of age.
In the meantime, she was helping her parents work as much as any child year old could. Though she couldn’t do a lot, she worked without complaining. She was very close to her mother especially and they would spend hours singing with each other. When she was nine, a plague swept through the south. Somehow, she avoided being sickened by it due to careful preparations by her parents. It was a tense time fraught with danger, but they managed to get through it. The family didn't really ever pay attention to anything happening outside their hold though, least of all the occurrence of the nearby weyr. Though an a few occurences would leave the family with little choice but to pay attention to Selenitas.
The first sign that something was amiss in the weyr was the skyrocketing of the tithes that the hold payed to the weyr. Each member of the hold had to contribute a little bit more, a fact with which Olivia's family was painfully aware of. They were stretched thin at that point, until new came that a new weyr had overtaken Selenitas. They found out that this was the reason for the increase in tithes. Olivia's father started to grow bitter, not towards Selenitas itself, but towards the new weyr that had overtaken it. He was determined to not let any of his children have anything to do with the weyr. Though I think we all know children rarely ever listen to their parents.
K'fuzzi of green Balath searched Olivia one day when she was out with Pippin. The girl was extremely excited, and didn't waste any time agreeing. Even Pippin was allowed to accompany her to Burimyu, the rebel weyr that they were being searched too.
Olivia stood at Jingth's second hatching in Burimyu. Unfortunately for her, none of the dragonets found her acceptable. She wasn't terribly upset, knowing that there would be other hatchings that she would be able to stand at. Unfortunately, Jingth betweened as soon as her hatching was over and Olivia was filled with such a sense of sadness, not because there would be no more clutches for her to stand at, but because the gold was gone. The entire hatching was a sad, somber affair...if not for the newly hatched dragonets. Soon after this, she hung out with the weyrling N'rik of blue Ophiuchusth. She grew to like the pair of them almost immediately, and she and the older boy started spending more and more time together as their schedules allowed.
As a candidate, and a young one at that, she didn't have much to do with the tithe theft. She did aid the riders in unloading supplies however after they returned to the weyr. She didn't have much say in the matter, but when Selenitas was destroyed by an earthquake, she was excited about the possibility of a merge. She had never actually been to Selenitas before, but she had heard about it, and she was eager to meet many new people. Soon after the merging, Millieth's clutch hatched. Olivia stood at this hatching too. Again, she didn't impressed. The girl was marginally more upset about this, but she took it in stride. There would be more hatchings. After this, she impressed a green firelizard she named Impala (nicknamed Baby) and a fluffy white razorclaw she named Merry in rapid succession. Not long after the impressions, a plague swept through the weyr, and Impala almost died. Olivia let a cure be tested on her and she was cured, but she ended up nearly blind. The poor firelizard was never the same after this. She also met the blueweyrling Lilu, and she began to look up to the older girl as a strong female role model. She started to work out more and doing stuff to try and garner Lilu's praise. She wanted the older girl to be proud of her.
She again stood at a hatching, this time gold Nitrath's first hatching. Once more, she left empty handed. She was starting to get a little more discouraged, but she wouldn't let anyone see, least of all N'rik, who showed up to support her. After the hatching, Olivia continued working with Lilu, who she began to look up to as an older sister figure.
3019-3023
As a candidate, Olivia had very little to do with the war. Most of what Olivia had to deal with was attending her candidate lessons - which she was getting really good at, by the way - and stand at hatchings. And stand she did. The girl stood at another Millieth hatching...once more failing to impress. N'rik was a real support in this time, when she was really feeling bad for not impressing. She started to lean on the boy more...and she almost didn't want to stand anymore, but with his encouragement, she stood at Millieth's next clutch, Nitrath's second clutch and Nitrath's third clutch. Once more, no dragons chose her.
It's a really good thing she had such a support system. Because she was really starting to get discouraged.
This was around the time that the war ended and the summit happened. Olivia didn't know too much of what transpired, but it upset her that so many people had to leave, some having to go to a new weyr in the north and some having to go to various holds. Luckily for her, N'rik was allowed to stay at Selenitas with her. And with that came more encouragement to keep standing at hatchings.
Olivia stood at three more clutches. Millieth's, Kleopath's, and Nitrath's...but none of the dragons wanted her...again. Devastated and upset, she wanted to give up standing all together. Even N'rik's encouragement, no matter how heavily she leaned on it, made her feel much better. Giving in, she decided to stand at another Kleopath clutch...this was the one she'd been waiting for. A large blue dragonet collided with her, knocking her to the sands before sniffing at her. Well? What are you doing down there? Then the dragonet shifted backwards off of her, ignoring the fact that its claws had drawn blood. Your Nevarath is starving, darlin'. Get up so I can go eat, or I'm going without you. It took her a second before it sunk in...
..she had impressed!
Weyrlinghood was rather uneventful. With no war to worry about, there wasn't much need to rush things. So, if anything, it was a little boring. But at least she had Nevarath. The dragonet had an interesting personality, he was short and grumpy, but Olivia found him absolutely adorable, and she found herself falling in love with him. She also hung out with N'rik on a frequent basis. She wouldn't say anything to anyone, but she found herself falling for her childhood friend. Lilu is the only one she might spill her feelings to, because she had well and truly begun to see the girl as an older sister and trainer and trusted her implicitly.

Dragons/Whers/Fire Lizards/Salamandyrs:
Name- Nevarath Age- 2 Color- Blue (#193066) Physical Appearance- Nevarath is built long and sturdy; he’s large as blues run at 30 feet long, but he’s quite proportional in every aspect. His head is undeniably masculine with a strong jaw, extraordinarily expressive for a dragon—he’s quicker to pull his lips back in a snarl or scrunch his face up into a mimicry of frustration than most people are, and his emotions are always blatantly visible in large eyes. His neck ridges are sharp and jagged and a little bit irregular as they run down his spine, but they’re unnoticeable for the loveliness of his wings, which are long and slender, deceptively gentle and startlingly strong.
In flight Nevarath is a sight to behold; he’s not graceful in the sense that he’s a dancer, or even particularly unique in how he moves, but there’s no denying that he’s fascinating in his confident efficiency. His is a grace rooted entirely in a matter-of-fact disregard of how he looks at all. On the ground, though, Nevarath is so far from elegant that it’s almost comical. His wings will never cease to get in his way, his lopsided hop-gait will conspire against him at every turn that’s just a tad too rapid, and his tail will never quite balance him out just right. It’s frankly peculiar, particularly in the contrast against his flight, but Nevarath will learn to cope—or just fly everywhere.
Color-wise, Nevarath is nothing short of spectacularly unique. A dark shimmering blue highlights purple along Nevarath’s ribs and the curve of his neck, and his wings have the same cool silver-indigo undertones. Brighter silver-blue appears in thick stripes down his tail, melting into faded silver completely halfway down before cutting abruptly into a darker blue tip where his tail splits. His legs show the same pattern, blending dark blue into silver and then into black. Silver-blue speckles flash against his flanks and shoulders and appear in flashes over his wings; the same silver-blue lightens a patch around both eyes, making his every expression that much more vivid.
Personality- A popular first impression of Nevarath will be that he is exceptionally abrasive. He’s startlingly world-weary for a creature so young, and he tends to make that very clear, thanks much, in his aloofness and determined distance from the world at large. He’ll never be one to strike up conversations unless he’s chewing some other dragon out for being a total idiot, but, that said, Nevarath also doesn’t discriminate against any particular color—or even between humans and dragons. It’s just…difficult to tell, since he doesn’t talk much to anybody, let alone to enough to pick out a pattern.
This is what he hides: Nevarath wears his heart pinned to his metaphorical sleeve, slightly crooked and maybe a little ragged around the edges, but still prominently there for those who know how to look. He loves with a deeply loyal, irrevocable fierceness; His will never be without a shoulder to cry on if she needs it (nor a kick to the rear if that’s what she needs), and for all his grouchiness Nevarath is surprisingly perceptive. He’s basically an emotional creature, and while he doesn’t necessary approve of most other sentient life forms on the planet, he’s not one to kick someone while they’re down, either.
He can get to be quite charming given the proper motivation; Nevarath hates Chasing greens he doesn’t know, and, if he Chases at all, will often do so with the intention of Chasing only that female for quite a while—but when they’re about to Rise, or if someone’s just hurt or something (and it’s not their own damn fault), Nevarath’s capable of a warmth and gentleness that’s a startling one-eighty from his typical grumpiness. Of course, it’s pretty fleeting; once the Flight’s over (whether or not he attended, although it will extend a little farther if he wins—just until he leaves) Nevarath slips back into his safety shell.
Let there be no mistake, though; he’s a tactile creature, and those he loves will know it for how often he touches them. It’s never anything obvious—indeed, those who casually observe might not think Nevarath touches others at all—it’s the little things: How Nevarath will curl his tail around his Rider’s feet, or how he’ll bump up against a dragon he actually likes sometimes. It’s always casual enough to be an accident, but for Nevarath, it’s the simplest way he knows how to express his affection, even when he’s simultaneously complaining.
0.o green
Looks to: Olivia Name: Impala (Baby) Species: firelizard Colour: green Base: 033717 Markings: 8BFFBF Born:
Appearance: She’s almost perfect in form for a green firelizard, smack dab in the middle size wise and very neatly proportioned, though maybe just a bit on the rounder side around her middle, but she arranges herself so neatly you’d never notice such a thing. Her spinal ridges are smooth and rounded, perfectly fitting to her body, and nearly vanish altogether as they hit her lower back and head, subtly, toward her tail.
As if to make up for such an average, if attractive, figure nature has bestowed a gift of wonderful colour to this firelizard. A backdrop of near black green is scattered with specks of a pale seafoam green that glitter like jewels against the darkness. The same pale shade appears again over her feet, her tail tip, and the very tip of her muzzle, and forms a small diamond marking on her chest. Her face is not adorned by the mask marking around the eyes worn by most of her clutch siblings but rather she has a line of her pale colour around each eye.
Personality: If this green was a human she’d be diagnosed with narcolepsy, it seems she can fall asleep anywhere, doing anything. It’s actually quite comical the way she suddenly pitches forward into her food, or lose control of her flight because her eyes are closing in spite of herself. In spite of her habit of dropping of at odd times this little lady’s naps never last long; a half hour at most. There’s just too much to see, why if she stayed asleep any longer she might miss something! Therein lies the reason for her sleepiness, though she sleeps anywhere she never sleeps for long, in fact she considers it something of betrayal of her body and is always in a foul mood after waking up because she’s angry with herself for sleeping and therefore missing things.
The very essence of her urge to stay awake is her unending curiosity. Must. Know. Everything. She’s constantly flitting from one place to another just to find out what’s going on. Every sound will send her zooming off to investigate the source. If it’s a commonplace she’ll be dreadfully disappointed, but that won’t stop her from rushing after sounds she’s heard a dozen, or even a hundred times before. this time it might be something different.
If her bonded has patience, and learns to sift all the images this green passes along and garner useful gossip items from them. The only thing is that she does have a positive passion for romance, anyone who looks remotely like they might be in love will get their brains stalked out by this green until she discovers just who and why they love. Consequently most of her gossip will revolve on this issue.
Other Pets
Name: Pippin Turns: Six Turns Species: Canine
Appearance: Pip is a puppy right now. He’s various shades of red and white with icy blue eyes. At the moment, he’s built like most pups, chubby and fluffy and completely adorable with that rolly pollyness that makes you just want to cuddle him. When he gets older, he’ll still be fluffy, but he’ll slim out and be built very much like his owner, leggy and fast like a little bullet. He’ll grow up to be a large dog, not huge though.
Personality: A little tough guy. He’s obsessed with the notion of “protecting” his mistress, even though at the moment he’d be little more than a pest to any would be attackers. His protectiveness isn’t limited to attackers. He sees Liv as his property, almost and detests anyone, particularly males from getting too close to her. If Liv ever impresses, he’ll have a rude awakening, if the dragon doesn’t try to eat him. He cares about Liv enough to know when enough is enough though and likely if she does impress, the three will fall into a comfortable companionship. Olivia found Pip when she was out playing one day and they bonded immediately, finding like minded 'lost souls' in each other.
Cumulus Male
Name: Merry Species: Razorclaw Gender: Male Bonded to: Olivia
Appearance: Fluffy, white and adorable sums up this little male. Nearly all his body is bright white, save for a scattering of small, black spots that make him seem dusted with pepper. He inherited his mother's dark mask around his eyes and beak. His wings and tail are dipped in delicate black tips that barely show when he flies. The only other marks he bares are an extra numerous collection of spots on his belly, giving it an almost grey color.
This male is larger, even at birth, and quite round. As he grows, his person will notice that not all his downy feathers will fall out, giving him a permanently fuzzy look. Though this makes him good for hugging, it's not much help in the air. He'll have trouble flying fast or for long periods of time. Hunting won't be too much for him, but his bond shouldn't expect many tricks or errands from this fellow. He claws, however, are very strong and flexible. He'll be able to hop or nearly walk over most surfaces and cling to perches at odd angles.
Personality: This lovable boy has inherited his mother's softer nature and increased it tenfold. He loves his bonded, more closely than most razorclaws. He likes attention and may be prone to nibbling on ears if he's not given enough. He enjoys riding around on shoulders and see all that is to be seen, so long as he does not have to fly. He will also let his bonded groom him and feed him, even when he's old enough to do it himself.
Unfortunately, he did not gain his mother's intelligence and dependability. Though not stupid, he seems to have a selective memory for only the things he wants to learn. He is also quite lazy, especially if he is allowed to get away with not hunting on his own. His bonded will have a hard time training him, unless it's to find food or be a lookout. He won't, however, bother chasing after fire lizards and salamanders as they are too much effort to catch and eat. Females are also usually too much trouble to chase and if he does, it usually involves bringing them one of his favorite foods as a treat.
