Name: Emiliah (Eh-mihl-ee-ah)
Age: 19
---May 2997
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Rank: Candidate
Physical Appearance:
Emiliah is short at 5'3" with dirty blonde hair and dark blue eyes. She is slight of build with a pale complexion that often appears smudged with dirt. She has a mark below her left eye that cannot be said is a birthmark or a scar. Her eyes are almond shaped with a narrow, tweaked nose between them and subtle pink lips beneath said nose. Her face is narrow due to a life of malnourishment.
She doesn't stand up perfectly straight when she walks but only because of her bird-like wariness. She prefers not to wear shoes when she can go without them, making her feet almost in a constant state of filth. Her clothes are always loose fitting and the bottoms of her pants are often tattered and torn, always dragging on the ground.
Personality:
To put things in a nutshell she calls herself Emi and she speaks in the third person. She hallucinates about two fire lizards named Mouse, a normal blue, and a talking gold named Dangly Bits. Emiliah is flighty, easily startled and very submissive. She'll do anything that Dangly Bits tells her to do since the hallucination has taken on a motherly role for her. Mouse she views as more of a protective older brother. On the outside Emi appears to be a normal drudge. A worker either born into it or fallen into it. She appears to be rather traumatized and when she feels upset or sad she'll turn to her shoulder and start chattering and squeaking much like a fire lizard. If asked she'll say she's fluent in flit-speak and since Mouse can't talk she doesn't believe he understands word and so she speaks to him in the only way he can understand.
Despite all of this, once someone gets past the traumatized girl that she is they can find she is very friendly and open to people. She is distrusting however and wary around strangers. When she makes a friend she's clingy and will follow them around almost possessively. This does make Dangly Bits jealous and eventually she will back off of people and hold a more normal friendship with them if they don't get annoyed with and yell at her first.
History:
Emiliah's life was doomed before it started. Her mother was a Bendenite Greenrider and was also a frequent bed-partner with many different men and not all of the occasions were due to a Flight. Suffice it to say that before she was born, Emiliah was an unwanted burden for her mother. She, however, never knew this as her mother died in childbirth with her. No one knew who her father was or if she even had any siblings and no one stepped up to claim her.
Perhaps the best treatment she ever got she can not recollect, for newborns are too young to know or understand anything beyond their own needs. A drudge had recently lost her newborn child and, to keep the girl alive, she was given to the despairing woman. After being raised for three years by her, Emiliah lost the only mother she knew. Life for the girl, from then on, would slowly slide downhill.
A man who was visiting the weyr took a fancy to her and took her with him when he left. She was elated at the time to feel wanted but instead of get the home she dreamed of, Emiliah was kept more as a pet. She lived with him on the coast, locked inside a small room used to store food, and existed solely to meet his needs. He frequently drank and called her "Milie". At first she didn't understand but the more he drank the more violent he got. He rarely ever spoke to her and in one of his rages, blamed her for the loss of his beloved dragon. A blue that she never remembered the name of. She was beaten and eventually she lost her sanity under the man's thumb. As a defense mechanism she began hallucinating about a gold fire-lizard named Dangly Bits, who could talk. She was Emiliah's only friend in this man's house and when she spoke of her she abbreviated her name to DB. This abbreviation evolved into the name Dib, and so Dangly Bits became referred to as Dib.
Dib became the epitome of a mother to Emiliah. She told her everything from her worries and concerns to her fears. She didn't understand the man and his rage. He kept blathering on a about some war that she was oblivious to. She didn't know who this Shmee person was who was being spoken about.
As life carried on for the turn 3006 in her "home", Emiliah began to grow a hatred for nicknames by her frequently being called Milie. As her hatred grew, she confided more in her hallucination, and though she hated nicknames of any sort, Dangly Bits remained Dib, by the fire-lizard's request.
After nine years as his "pet", one day the man did not return and she spent the entire day in her little room. After four days of living in the room she grew a little suspicious and looked outside of the keyhole. Of what little she could see, no one was there. As she tried to see more, Dib betweened into the room and told her she had to escape. Finding a pole in the room, she began pounding at the knob of the door. After hours of hitting it, it finally broke and she slipped out. The house was empty. Feeling alone and lost for the first time in her life, Emiliah took instruction from Dangly Bits and began packing food and clothes and ran off, fighting back the exhaustion that she had caused herself from pounding on the door knob in a weakened state.
After traveling almost constantly for three days (and passing out from lack of sleep and food) she eventually stopped to wash up and change clothes in a nearby river. With no skills in the way of survival in the wilderness, she found a large tree with a hollow in it that she could sleep in.
Well rested but starved, as her food had not lasted as long as she had hoped, Emiliah began heading for civilization. She trudged along the beach, refilling her skin whenever she found fresh water. As she walked she found a remote sea-hold that was very small. She also discovered that it was neutral and traded with the southern continent. Wanting nothing more than to rid herself of the Northern Continent and all it had held for her, she hired herself away on one of the barges in return for a trip south. It was not easy to be accepted as new work and she was asked various questions. Eventually she was able to prove she could at least cook and worked in payment for a trip.
Upon arrival at Lighttower Hold, and with her due paid for the trip, Emi resumed a drudgery role and began to slowly pull herself together. Whereas in the North she would have been kicked around, she was now just seen as another drudge. Eventually she became less and less afraid and began speaking to other drudges, still wary of other people. She heard mutterings of that name from 2 turns ago, Shmee, again. With it this time was Aslath and she was eventually told by another drudge that Shmee rode a dragon named Aslath and was in charge of a weyr.
Two eventful turns passed and she paid little mind to the Weyrling Massacre, the capture of Shmee, and her eventual death, not knowing what any of those meant. She vaguely understood them but they didn't devastate her like it did those around her and she came to the conclusion that the events were negative ones. The Siege of Selenitas, however, drew Dib to tell her that she must head to the weyr.
As she traveled to and continued life at the weyr she slowly began to pull more of herself together. She remained under the radar as a simple drudge. She was absent when the Main Hall was held hostage and did not show up for three days after. When the attack and attempted theft of Hepaticath's first clutch occurred, she remained silent. She only confided in Dib about her growing fear of Dragonriders. All they seemed to do was kill and traumatize. Despite this, she began to regain some of her sanity and coped better than she might have when people began disappearing and getting sick.
Slowly she has realized that no one is about to jump out and bite her, but her life in isolation has left her socially retarded. Often she will switch between pursuing someone relentlessly when they show her kindness, to being hostile to complete strangers and people who have scared her. As a drudge she often keeps to herself and the only news she is kept up on is that which is said among the other weyrfolk. However, she has been impacted by recent events quite heavily.
With the poisoning of the Selenitas River and the deaths of many draconic creatures, the floating body of an un-betweened firelizard made her believe that her beloved Mouse had died, thus the figment left her. All she had left to herself was the elusive Dib and her precious Shrew.
Life continued as per usual after that, the girl over coming her “loss” and her progress towards a more sane mind continued. The attack on Selenitas took a whole other toll. Out of fear for herself, she ignored the call for candidates to help in the Hatching Sands, took the tangible Shrew and hid with the drudges, the only people she trusted. Once found she resumed her life once again, only more boldly. Yes, she was skittish and scared easily but she realized that if she had survived such an attack she would be fine one-on-one with other people.
Large groups still make her nervous, and thus avoids them, but small groups of a handful of people are just fine.

Bonded to: Emiliah
Name: Emilsk
Color: Green #8CDD81 #F0FFF0 #003300
Based On: Thylacine
Physical Appearance: This green is mostly a soft, light green in colour that is pleasant to look at. The softness of her hide is just as one would expect from the colour assuming she is well looked after. The green fades to an almost white along her belly and tail, the underside of her neck, and the insides of her legs. This almost white colour also decorates her entire lower jaw and the end of snout. Her eyes are surrounded by a thin ‘eye-liner’ of the white-green. Starting mid back, there are short stripes that get a little longer in length towards her tail. They stop at the base of the tail and the longest one is the length of about a third of her thigh. These stripes are a deep, dark green. The stripes are very clear cut - there’s very little blending between the pale green and the dark green. The stripes, however, are not perfect lines but are a little wavy or have random kinks in them.
This green is perfectly average in size though her build sure doesn’t make it seem so. She’s a very thin wher, almost appearing unhealthy. Unfortunately, this isn’t likely to change throughout her life though she is capable of putting on some muscle. She has an oddly long, narrow snout, smaller than normal eyes and an over-all head shape is a bit different than most whers; it has an obviously more canine-like appearance. Due to this she tends to have an alert and curious expression even when completely relaxed. Another off thing about her is her tail. It is quite obviously out of proportion. While most of her is long and thin her tail is short and thick for her body. On her back are a pair of long but thin wings that rarely move from their resting position on her back.
While similar in build to her mother, this green has an undeniable grace. She walks like a confident predator, ready to spring into action at any moment. She’s a quick green when she wants to be though she’s much more likely to be seen going at a calm pace. Gliding is a definite no for her. Even if she was capable of getting enough air under her small sails, she would have trouble staying level. Due to her odd head shape, this green wher is capable of opening her jaws alarmingly wide. Never fear, this is completely normal for her and doesn’t result in any pain - however occasionally she’ll open them a bit too wide and will need some help ‘unlocking’ her jaw.
Personality: This green is quite intelligent and very morally sound. She exercises common sense at all times and is very circumspect in her dealings with others, including her bonded. She would much rather listen to others before deciding on anything. This makes her a good mediator for arguments because she will listen fairly to all sides before passing judgement. Her decisions are based on what she believes is morally correct. Generally her beliefs match up with most peoples’ ideas of what is morally right however she has a very hard time with majority vs. one situations. She believes no one should get the short end of the stick, as they say.
She’s an oddly shy wher though many don’t see it as such. It will be easy to believe she is antisocial or cold but in reality she simply doesn’t like to be seen or heard unless it’s absolutely necessary. She is conscious of every little thing she does and she believes everyone else is aware of her perceived faults too. Not that she’ll ever tell anyone but her bonded as much. She’s okay with letting others think what they will about her as long as her friends know better. The friends she does manage to make become this green’s whole world, next to her bonded. She would do anything for them as long as she thinks they would do the same in return.
Lastly, this wher is protective of others. It doesn’t matter whether they are her friends, her siblings, or random strangers. It’s simply not right for others to be hurt because someone feels like hurting them. Her first response is to attempt to make the other party aware of their wrong doing. If that doesn’t work? Well she’ll just have to get forceful! She’s a very smart fighter, this green. She doesn’t waste time with simple scratches. It’s crippling blows or nothing at all. Legs, throats, and eyes are her favourite targets though she tends to simply cripple her opponents rather than kill them. She’d prefer not to take lives, thank you

She’s got average length limbs that are complimented by a perfectly proportioned tail, making her look like a firelizard sculpted from fine stone – everything that her species ought to be, the perfect representation of firelizard-kind. Her ridges are small and rounded off, making them distinctly feminine, and her wings seem to be more ‘round’ near the edges than coming to sharp points. Her face is perhaps the only unique feature that she possesses in terms of build, for its more round and her eyes are more pronounced than the average firelizard’s, giving her a very young appearance – wide-eyed and innocent. Complimented by the angular line of her snout, there’s no denying that her face is ‘pretty’ in a child-like way; even in adulthood, she’ll have an appearance of naiveté that can strike others as extremely bizarre to look at. Her head knob is somewhat small for a firelizard, so if Hers wishes to spoil her, they’ll have to rub her entire body. Thanks to being well proportioned, her flying is average – nothing extraordinary, or embarrassing, to behold.
Leafy green covers her entire body, winding around her slender form like a network of foliage stitched together by invisible hands. She has lighter shades of greens like streaks coming from the back of her head and spreading down the line of her back ridges, messy markings that in many ways could be described as exotic. Similarly, she has what appears to be an almost-white ‘apron’ down her front, accenting her stomach. The top of her head has a lime green smudge that almost appears to be shaped like a bow, and only the blind would miss the obvious resemblance. The only thing that makes her coloring even more interesting than the different shades of green is the highlights that show up when she’s caught by sunlight: vivid emerald and almost metallic, she’s like staring at the inner fire of a gemstone, flawless beauty and elegance to behold and be remembered. She’s certainly not something that anyone who sees her will be in a hurry to forget.
Personality: Curiosity is this firelizard’s most dominant trait. Anything going on around her, she has to be into – which can be very detrimental to this firelizard, since she doesn’t usually learn from her mistakes. Straight into a pot of hot stew she’ll go solely because it looks interesting and unfortunately, she will probably get stuck in things on a regular basis. Like jars, crevices, and trunks. The idea of going between to free herself also doesn’t occur to this very-nosy firelizard, who will instead sit and squall until she’s rescued by someone or something else – anything to get out of the horrible predicaments that she regularly lands herself in. She’s very likely to need rescuing at least once a day. She also doesn’t take hints well, so keeping her away from dangerous places (like the clutch of one of the dragon queens, for instance) will be a constant project for Hers. She’s also independent and likes to fly off on her own constantly, to explore, adventure and get into things. It’s rare for her to stay put and if Hers wants her attention, well, it’ll require finding her; she very much likes to be in motion constantly, always exploring, always looking for anything to keep her attention. She especially likes music, though, so any time there’s singing being done, she’ll be there.
One thing that’s notable, though, is that this firelizard also… likes things that make no sense. For instance, she’ll be happy to send very vivid, detailed pictures to Hers – but they’ll usually be obscured by something inexplicable, rather than genuine. She’s not a liar, she just favors nonsense. People and creatures who are unpredictable will have her attention constantly and it won’t be unusual for her to flit around checking out anything new or exciting. She hates work, chores and responsibility and will go out of her way to avoid them; when Hers is doing any kind of chores, it won’t be unusual for her to fly off on her own, just to get away from the icky work. She loves to listen to stories, and the crèche is one of her favorite places to be, sitting to perch and listen to any kind of tales being told by the drudges to the babies. So fun.
Though she’s intelligent, this firelizard doesn’t listen well. Asking her to do things is pointless because she just won’t most of the time. She doesn’t see a point in following instructions – if Hers needs something from the kitchen why doesn’t she get it herself? It’s not her job. She also doesn’t remember very well, so trying to scold her is usually very pointless. Her best asset is that she’s entirely energetic and very enthusiastic about everything – it’s hard to be mad at her for getting stuck in a crevice when she’s squealing in delight about the new shiny that she found!
