"Nooo," Dinag insisted, putting as much mental pressure as possible into that drawn out command. Disk snorted and flapped his wings, obviously frustrated with his bonded. Just because he Chose him didn't mean that he had to do everything he said. For once the blue just wanted to be allowed to eat the things that he saw. Dinag sighed, thankful that for once Disk behaved. Ever since they had bonded, it had been an uphill battle to stop the wher from bullying or eating anything and everything he came across. The blue had absolutely no respect for anyone. Dinag didn't know what he was doing wrong or what he could be doing better. He was trying his hardest to keep the wher in line, but he was starting to feel like he was going to get in a lot of trouble unless Disk started to behave.
That's why they were out by the river. Every chance that he got, Dinag took the infuriating, loveable wher out of the apartment and tried to work with him. Every time he could, he asserted his will, making sure that Disk knew that even if they were bonded, he was in charge, not Disk. "Let's take a break. The water should feel nice," Dinag urged, beginning to take his shoes off. Eat things, Disk insisted, good meatbags, eat. Dinag wanted to scream. "No!" Fine, sit on things, almost as good as eating things. Disk flopped his tail on top of Dinag's removed boots, successfully squashing them. That was better than nothing.

Yoalla smiled fondly at the pale green shape of her wher, watching the green swim and wandering along the riverbank thinking of nothing much. Although autumn hadn’t much cooled off the southern nights Yoalla felt no desire too join her partner in crime at all, in truth, the dark water made her nervous. In her former life she’d had no need to swim at all, and now her swimming was just enough to get by.
Yosk hopped out of the river, and promptly shook water everywhere, causing a round of scolding and chattering from Yoalla’s only present pet, that most notably confused of firelizards, Lao, the only bronze ever to sire to clutches and still firmly and irrevocably believe himself to be a green. Thankfully Yoalla’s other pets, all of whom really were green, were otherwise occupied tonight, and the greenhandler did not feel like finding out how. In response to the unexpected shower Yoalla just laughed and wiped water out of her eyes with her sleeve. ‘And what brings you out of the water my lovely?’ she inquired.
Yosk huffed softly, she could trust Yoalla not to make fun of her with comments like that but she didn’t want everyone else hearing her called lovely thank you. They’d only make fun of her for it, well maybe her brothers wouldn’t, oh and Nautsk wouldn’t because she was kind too, and maybe even Pidesk wouldn’t, and they might even be able to keep their handlers from laughing at hearing such a hideous thing as Yosk called lovely, but everyone apart from that would laugh. Most particularly, the pair they were approaching would surely laugh. At a hint of curiosity from her handler the green elaborated. A pair from Eikask’s clutch they were, and Pidesk’s clutch too, Yosk tacked the idea of the bronze on when mentioning Eikask provoked a negative reaction. Yosk had never quite been able to work out why her handler disliked Yosk’s pretty golden sister so much, and she was so curious about all these new whers. Maybe they could go and meet this pair?
Yoalla looked down into the huge, hopeful, eyes of her wher and raised her hands in submission. ‘Fine. If that’s what you want.’ She acquiesced. ‘You’re the night eyes girl, you lead.’ The handler wandered along behind her wher, but Lao saved them both the trouble of greeting the young wher and his handler by swooping over both their heads, trilling sweetly to them. Oh look at him, he was just the loveliest green ever, wasn’t he? Yosk cringed down and Yoalla rolled her eyes.
