Sk'ler fingered the marks in his hands and then looked at the organized display of eggs. He was contemplating buying another fire-lizard egg. Admiral and Skye had come from eggs he bought at the Caravan, and they had proved to be excellent pets. However, Triniath was skeptical about the whole thing. Do you really nee another one? It's not like there is a competition to see who has the most fire-lizards. Toryth's has the right idea about the whole thing. Ciara doesn't want many more pets. Maybe one more, but she also has two kids to care for. Including a gay and mated salamandyr. That is true, but what Ciara wants is not relevant to this or me, Trin. Sk'ler's mental tone was becoming very annoyed.
People are going to think you are some crazy man with only animal friends, Sk'ler. He ignored Triniath's comment. Sure, the Brown's heart was in the right place, but Sk'ler wanted another pet. I think you should invite Raiyth's rider over instead of replacing the companionship of humans with that of animals. Excuuuuuse me!? Sk'ler squeaked and smiled faintly at the Stall keeper. He gingerly picked up one of the large fire-lizard eggs and held it close. "I would like to buy the flit egg, please." Triniath grumbled in the brownrider's mind, but Sky continued to ignore him. "Here are the ten marks." You are impossible. Love you too.
Skye chirped curiously and tapped the egg with a clawed hand. Would this Hatch one of the pretties? Would he get one of his one little pretty pretties? "No, Skye, this is not a salamandyr egg. A fire-lizard like Soltun is going to Hatch from it." The wingless Blue instantly slouched in disappointment. He wanted a pretty. During the Gather, he had searched for any of the small pretties, hoping for one he could be friends with. While he himself had received many stares from passers-by, the strange fire-lizard had not seen any of the pretties or mandyrs as His called them. His humanpet's female friend had one, but she didn't like him especially after he had tried to Catch her when she Ran for her mate. A Green mating was a Green had never made sense to him.
