Marra decided to arrive back in the early morning hours. She would check herself in the next day. She had been told that her old apartment was still available, so naturally, she would go there. It was a warm night, with the moons round and full. The Red Star glared down at her, and Marra welcomed the feeling of guilt that came with that hot glare. She so wanted to see Rawign again, but she didn’t have the dignity to feel good about doing so. Creaking the door open hesitantly, she looked around her old apartment with an unreadable expression. Depositing her things near her desk, she took a long moment to just take in the surroundings. When she had earned money again, she would redecorate it. She had sold most of her old furnishings in her attempts to bribe the Masterharper into letting her come to Selenitas. All the good that did!
Bitter, she shut the door. She wanted Rawign here now. Yet she hadn’t even informed him of her return. She had remained at Blossom Hold for as long as she could stand after getting her papers. Yet Kilisto had made her stay for a while. In a way, Marra was relieved that she wouldn’t be vomiting up on Selenitas, so for that she was grateful. Yet she had wanted to come back immediately. She chewed her lip where she stood for a moment. Where was he right now? Was he thinking of her? Did he ever think of her any more?
Desdemona crooned lovingly, her yellow-green hide reflecting in the moonlight. She was back where Li was! How she longed to visit him! But only when she knew that Hers was fine again. Marra paid no attention to Mona’s eagerness. Instead, Marra sunk slowly to her cot, not even bothering to undress or remove her sandals. It was such a nice feeling to be back. Even though she had paid with it for… Her jaw clenched. She couldn’t think of that, she couldn’t… telling herself firmly to cast it from her mind. Taking a deep breath, she turned to her other side.
Mona, taking this as a dismissal, then leapt up and winked between, heading straight for Li. Squealing shrilly, she dove at her favorite bronze, her croons sounding like purrs. The fact that everyone was sleeping right now meant nothing to her. She was back, and she was going to stay!

An unfamiliar green appeared from between and Stumpy and Ennayoh (codename for "NotAnotherOne!") both shrieked in surprise. They were the youngest of Rawign's fair and both of them were unfamiliar with Mona. Confused and frightened, Ennayoh hid behind Roxie, while Stumpy ducked behind Beggar. The green firelizard opened one eye, chirped at Mona, and then went back to sleep. Beggar trilled and curled up around his mate (Roxie) without acknowledging Stumpy of the injured tail. Li, on the other hand, trilled musically and snuggled up to Mona with no hints of remorse for his behavior. His eyes whirled his delight, and he chirruped loud enough that anyone nearby would be able to hear him. There could be no denying just how pleased the bronze firelizard was.
Fortunately, Rawign was already awake. He'd been on infirmary duty for most of the night, and he hadn't yet gone to sleep. In fact, the journeyman was not even in his cot, but rather sitting in the floor tying knots in a strip of cloth he'd torn from an old shirt of his that was destroyed. He'd managed to make a rather neat toy most of his firelizards liked, and was in the process of making a second so that the five of them did not bicker over the original. Roxie in particular was prone to being possessive and grumpy. Multiple toys meant happy firelizards which in turn meant less headaches for Rawign and less headaches for Rawign lead to a happy journeyman healer who was less likely to hit someone in the face with a bedpan for irritating him. Rawign never claimed to be good at dealing with people. He knew better. He would have done well with patients that were mute. Why, exactly, had he become a healer? Oh, right, to help people. Silly him.
"Stop with the chirping and chirruping, would you? You'll wake someone up. Honestly, Li, you know bet--"
Rawign had half-turned around to lecture his firelizards when his gaze fell on Mona. His hands stilled and he raised an eyebrow before an image of Marra's apartment, with Marra in it, was sent to him. He turned to look at Li, who fluted at him, as Beggar and Roxie both disappeared between to investigate the image. Letting his hands go still, Rawign set aside the cloth strip and rose to his feet. Stumpy and Ennayoh flew over to his shoulders, while Li snuggled against Mona more affectionately. He wasn't about to move when he was perfectly comfortable; the others could have his usual perch on Rawign's shoulder. Chirping, he curled closer to Mona and took to chattering to her, with no regard for anyone else who may have been sleeping. Mona was back! Mona Mona! His excitement was mirrored in Rawign's face as the healer actually turned on his heel and half-dashed out toward the Weyrfolk Apartments. He knew the way by heart, and he was in quite a hurry, despite being up all night.
Beggar and Roxie arrived well before him, though. Beggar perched on the end of the desk, fluting his greeting, while Roxie landed right on Marra's head. Chattering, the green swiveled her head down to send an image of Rawign with his two flitters on his shoulders, clearly on his way. Then the green chirruped, clearly expecting food for her good deed. She deserved payment! She'd delivered the message!

Marra was finally beginning to drift off to sleep when the gentle noises of flitters met her ears. At first, she only recognized it as one flitter, and she automatically assumed Desdemona was back. That was a relief- for a moment, she thought she was going to find Rawign. Wrapping her arms around her pillow, she closed her eyes sleepily. Then, an image that wasn't her own was inserted into her brain. Eyes widening, she looked around wildly-- and saw a green. Yet it wasn't her green... It was Roxie. And Beggar wasn't far from her. Cursing, she slowly rose out of her cot, shooting a glare at Roxie. She was tired. She could find Rawign on her own in the morning... Nonetheless, she strode to her bags, rummaging through them to find some sort of treat for Roxie. She yawned, scratching her head as she located a strip of dried meat. Breaking it into two pieces, she tossed one toward Beggar and the other toward Roxie, hoping they would leave her alone now.
Mona let out a loud purring croon, snuggling close against Li. It felt so good to be with him again. She chattered back to him happily, giving him a mental picture of the pretty dolphins of Blossom. Had he ever seen the dolphins? They were oh so pretty, but Marra hadn't enjoyed them much. She had been moping all the time about Rawign. She didn't understand it. She missed Li, but she hadn't been that terribly mopey. She at least had gone out to enjoy the sunshine every so often. And oh, the sunshine was so nice at Blossom! When the gather happened, she would take Li into the best sunning spots.
Marra looked over to the door nervously. Picking up her things, she hauled them over toward her bed. She found herself trembling slightly. She hoped she wouldn't give anything away by doing or saying anything about the Masterharper... She gulped, timidly hurrying to the bed. Suddenly, she felt very foolish. She had never felt like this around Rawign before. She took a deep breath, then sat down on the bed. Pulling the furs over her body, she tried to not stare at the door, and found herself staring down into her hands. No-- this wasn't right either. She ran a hand through her hair, her stormy eyes refocusing on the door. Any second, Rawign would enter through the door...

Arriving outside the door, Rawign frowned, paused, and then abruptly stopped. He hadn't seen Marra in what felt like months. Had things about him changed? Not really - he was still training though, since her vanishing, he didn't put anywhere near as much effort into it as he should have. He had no intentions of attending any hatchings anymore, though that was a direct result of not one, not two, not three, nor four, but five firelizards constantly driving him nuts (he hadn't even meant to impress the last two!) - how could he be expected to care for anything else? Though, he had to admit some usefulness in having his own colourful entourage, starting with the fact that they could carry various things all around the infirmary whenever he needed their help. Yes, there was definitely something useful about that, though in his opinion, he still could have done without the headaches.. particularly from Roxie and Beggar, who he was still mildly angry with, Roxie for Flying and Beggar for catching her. Headaches indeed. And the door in front of him was so foreboding - what if Marra decided she didn't like him anymore? Well, no, her coming back suggested otherwise but what if she'd been happy and only came back because she promised? So many doubts, and so many fears; it was hard not to just back away and come back later...
But life wasn't worth living if all he did was sit and wait for things to fall into his lap, and Rawign was a lot of things, but he was not a coward. He raised his hand and knocked four times - enough to make it clear that someone was there - and then pushed open the door of the apartment. Rather than enter immediately, though, he peeked his head around the corner... just to make sure he wasn't, well, walking in at a bad time. Stumpy and Ennayoh chose that moment to squawk simultaneously before flying off his shoulders and into the apartment. Around both blues glided, before landing on opposite ends of the rooms, then Ennayoh trilled loudly at Marra, the sound undeniably stating I am hungry, feed me now. Rawign cringed.
"Ennayoh! Stumpy! Beggar! Roxie! Stop it!" he hissed, stepping into the doorway before snapping his fingers. Roxie abruptly chirped at him before squawking at Marra as if to say You don't take hints well! - then she flew over to land at her usual perch on her humanpet's shoulder, tail curling around his neck. Beggar and Stumpy both flew over to join Ennayoh at his spot, the trio of blues a gradient of shades. Once they made themselves comfortable, Rawign turned back to Marra, though in the light of the early morning, his expression was hidden by shadows cast over his face. "Er.. I'd ask if you're awake, but considering how loud I've been, I'm hoping so..." He wanted to say so much, but the words were lost at the back of his mind, so instead he stepped forward again, and finished with, "I missed you."
Li snuggled against Mona, tail curling around hers, and chirruped to himself. Having never seen the dolphins, he sent back an inquisitive image: the junior queen Millieth in flight. Head tilting to the side, he then sent an image of Dael and her clutch, complete with the salamandyr hatchlings, and thrummed to himself. He'd never been to Blossom except where Mona was, and though he'd visited a sunning spot with her once, he didn't remember the details. He did remember Dael's Hatching, and that was the most interesting thing to happen to him since Mona left. The bronze's eyes whirled his contentment and he hummed happily, the closest thing to purring a firelizard could actually do. His person was upset but he wasn't, no no, he was not.

Even though she was expecting it, Marra jumped as she heard the knocks on her door. It would have to be Rawign. Immediately wishing she had something suave to say, or at least felt less awkward, she leaped up, darting to the door to open it. Her heart thudded nervously, and Marra found her fingers jittery as she reached for the doorknob. She should've had more time to tidy herself and her room up more... He was going to think she was so messy! Her brown hair was bunned, as usual, but done so carelessly that it could easily come undone. And her outfit, though it was clean and nice-looking, was wrinkled. She needed to always look better than this for him, always needed to have her clothes properly cared for, always had to look like she was on top of the world... Stepping back jerkily as the door slowly swung open, Marra looked toward the door with wide eyes, apprehension on her features. Would he be able to tell what had happened with the Masterharper? This was, undoubtedly, her worst fear at the moment. If he had somehow figured out what she had done with Camlin and how she had gotten back her, she... well, dropping off a dragon between seemed like a fair option if that happened.
For a split-second, her eyes locked with Rawign's-- of course, before two more flitters attacked. Naturally, they were enough to distract anyone, and Marra did a quick series of double-takes to where they were flying and back at Rawign, confused. One of the many blue made one of the familiar hungry flitter sounds, and Marra simply stared. How...? "Ennayoh? Stumpy?" she repeated in disbelief. With Roxie, Beggar, and Li, that made... "Stupid, what on Pern possessed you to get five flitters?" she found herself demanding. Sighing dramatically, she was surprised to see how easily she slipped back into the person she used to be here at Selenitas. Striding purposefully over to her things, she rummaged around, looking for food to give them, yet also trying to calm nerves that would reveal themselves as she would have to face Rawign. Tearing up another strip of dried meat, she tore it in half and tossed one toward Ennayoh, and the other to Stumpy.
Turning back toward Rawign abruptly, she folded her arms with faux-haughtiness. Yet this show didn't last long. She let out a long exhale, and simply watched him for a moment. She smiled in an almost sad way at his words. He always had been an awkward person. She didn't respond, unable to think of words. So much for her harper skills-- wasn't she supposed to know what to say all the time? Apparently not.
Instead, she wordlessly walked up to him, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head against him, breathing in his scent that she had so missed. "I missed you, too," she replied softly, closing her eyes as she clung to him. Faranth, now she remembered why she had been so upset with leaving him. It was as though a wave of relief flooded her. Though the guilt of her foul deed with the Masterharper made her stomach churn, if she could ignore that, then she could very well say that she was at ease again.
Mona chirruped curiously at the image of Millieth. She had forgotten about that queen. Her memory wasn't good enough to remember individual dragons, even if they were queens. Squeezing her tail with his, she chattered loudly and excitedly. She was so happy to be with her Li again that she could hardly stand it! At the image of the salamandyrs, she chirped quizzically. What were those ugly things? Obviously they weren't as pretty as flitters though, but they were exciting. Nuzzling him lovingly, she nestled against him, enjoying the warmth of his presence.

Rawign blinked, sheepishly, and then looked at the two new additions to his firelizard fair. The look was undeniably accusing, though neither of them appeared to notice; instead, they both fluted to Marra at the mention of their names, clearly recognizing they were being spoken about. Roxie chittered at them, angry, and then nuzzled her head into Rawign's hair in a blatant show of firelizard affection. Nothing like being loved on by a little green to perk one's mood, right? Her tail tightened around Rawign's neck, though; possessive was she and she remembered Marra as the girl who hers liked better than her, though she was taught to behave at least... partially. (Rawign would not have been able to survive a fair of five without teaching them to listen to him most of the time, though Li continually did whatever he wanted and thrust his nose up at the idea of Rawign having any authority over him. Clearly he was the one in charge.) The other two went silent at Roxie's scolding and Rawign fidgeted, shifting his weight in what was most definitely embarrassment; a faint hint of crimson even made its way to his cheeks.
"It isn't as though I rolled around in meat, saying, 'Here firelizards! Here firelizads! C'mere!'" he replied with a weak snort. "Ennayoh's name stands for N. A. O. - or NotAnotherOne." His head shook from side to side and he sighed, audibly. The truth was, he'd only gone to the hatching because it was Dael's. That may have been superficial, but Dael was... special in her own way, just as all the firelizards from the clutch he and Marra had found were. Since she was the only salamandyr, she was easiest to remember. He'd have seen it was an extreme insult not to go to her hatching, though since she'd run again recently, he did not intend to go again. Salamandyrs were cute but he'd seen K'lir have screaming fits enough that he definitely did not want one of them. He had enough pets. Rawign's desire to Impress anything else was completely null and void. He was already dreading when Roxie flew again... three blues to chase her, yikes. She'd probably be thrilled: her own little harem.
The offered meat earned musical trilling and Ennayoh and Stumpy both took their strips with their claws. Then, as they were taught, both of them chirped in what was clearly the firelizard equivalent of Thank you before bouncing off to snarf down their prizes. Beggar thrummed, pleased with the fact that they were taking up his habits, and Roxie squawked. Evidently she was not pleased that she didn't get offered any meat as well, though in a few moments she'd let it go - her memory was absolutely dreadful.
Rawign wound his arms around Marra's shoulders and smiled slightly before pulling her more firmly against him. Then all at once he swung her around in what was clearly an exuberant hug, no masking the sheer delight he'd felt. It was selfish, bratty and cruel but ever since she'd left he'd pretty much refused to deal with people, likely ruining several of his friendships in the process. But Marra was back and his world went back to turning again! Some part of him felt stupid for letting his happiness rely so much on one person, but that was the little voice he often told to shove off (and why did it sound suspiciously like K'lir?) most of the time anyway, so he tuned it out completely. Gently he kissed Marra's forehead before grinning ear-to-ear, his delight at seeing her again no doubt showing from his smile to the way he barely managed to hold still. Why shouldn't he have been thrilled beyond words?
"You have to tell me all about Blossom, I've never been there! Was everyone nice to you? Do I need to kick someone's backside?"
Back outside, Li chirped again, flashing on an image of K'lir's bronze Showoff. The image was very distinct. Then he sent one of Kalierre's bronze Lust... and then of Dael, the Salamandyr who had hatched with them. He thrummed to himself before rubbing against Mona affectionately, which caused the little bronze firelizard to actually fall over onto his side. He did not appear to notice, instead rolling around as best he could without ever not touching Mona. It was a near feline expression of his feelings. Last but not least, he sent an image of R'non and his bronze with Millieth, as if to explain what dragon had caught the queen. Trust Li to catch Mona up on all the gossip. While he looked down on it from other firelizards, he made exception for her and her alone.

Marra rolled her eyes. "Just stay away from hatchings, deadglow," she told him, but it was a affectionate insult. Chuckling at Roxie's reactions, she also hoped that she would get some time to keep Rawign to herself. She wasn't really in the mood for sharing him, even with flitters. Holding her head back to look at his flushed face, she smiled ever-so-slightly. Tightening her arms around his waist, she kissed him gently. All of a sudden, a wave of relief flooded her. She was back, with Rawign, at Selenitas. She no longer needed to curl up in a miserable ball out of loneliness, nor did she need to lash out at everyone for the smallest thing. No, she was with Rawign again, and the whole world was a song. Breaking off the kiss, not a trace of irritation at his amount of flitters remained on her face. "I think Ennayoh is a great name," she told him in amusement. "It fits my thoughts perfectly. Not another one, indeed." She chuckled a little resting her head against Rawign's chest. She felt so dizzyingly happy that she half-wondered if this was actually a dream or not.
Lifting her head up to spare a glance at Roxie, she rolled her eyes. "You already has meat, stupid," she told her firmly. "Do you want to get fat?" She wondered if briefly if Rawign had been spoiling her. It would be awfully pathetic if he had started doting on her since she had left... Shrieking as Rawign suddenly swung her around, it turned into laughter, and the laughter continued as he kissed her forehead. He had probably been just fine during her absence. This brought Marra's mind back to its dark crevices, and her smile faded and the laughter died away. She was the one who had probably overreacted. Would he had done... that with the Masterharper just to return back to Selenitas? No, he would not. She was sure of it. She was just too weak-minded, too dependent, too easy... Feeling extremely dirty in his arms, she gently let go of him, drawing back a couple steps. Perhaps she truly was like the desperate Northern women who sold their bodies for the food to feed their families. Except she had done this for her own comfort. She wouldn't have died without him. She was so stupid!
Swallowing, she tried to ignore the voices in her head that told her how useless she was, how disgusting she was. She needed to be happy, she needed to be happy... "Blossom was fine," she replied lazily, brushing it aside. "Everyone was very nice, so no need to go beating anybody up." She sighed, then moved back towards him. "It was nothing like being here, though," she added, her eyes moving to meet his, telling him It was nothing like being with you. She yawned, and retreated back into his arms, trying to ignore how disgusting she felt.
"Can you move in?" she asked softly, sleepily. Perhaps a sudden question, but Marra knew that this was what she wanted. She couldn't fathom the thought of being away for too much longer.
Mona chattered excitedly to Li. The ugly queen thing had hatched ugly bronze things? How odd! Chirruping in amusement as Li toppled over, she climbed right back over to him, cuddling up against his warm body. She chirped again at the latest gossip. A bronze she didn't know had Caught her big cousin? Such strange things had happened since she left! Wrapping his tail with hers tightly, she nuzzled him. Such strange things had happened...

"You make it sound so simple," Rawign countered, but he smiled anyway. "The two younger blues both came from one of Daeluunya's clutches. Her first. I had to be there." If Marra couldn't figure out the reason for that he would disown her, plain and simple. Maybe it was overly sentimental, in fact it probably was, but there weren't a lot of things Rawign let himself care about, not anymore. There were his flitters and Marra, that was about it. Religna, too, he supposed, though she'd become an almost stranger to him since she Impressed. Not her fault but an uncomfortable fact nonetheless. Marra was the most important person to him, selfish as that thought likely was, and he put her feelings first. His fondness for the clutch that Roxie, Li and Mona had come from all stemmed from the fact that those eggs had been found by him and Marra; they were protected together. He felt as if the hatchlings were all, in their own way, part of his family. Family gone away on an extended trip or something but family nonetheless. If any of the greens from the same clutch happened to clutch, he'd have to go to those hatchings too - it was just.. the way things were. Though he didn't intend to go to any of Dael's again. Salamandyrs were positively frightening creatures. Dael was a sweetheart or so she seemed but Showoff? Showoff was evil incarnate.
Ennayoh chirped at Marra, almost as if in thought, but whatever else he might have had to 'say' was disrupted by Roxie screeching her fury. She disappeared between in the wink of an eye, no doubt going somewhere to sulk at the very ... ridiculous! ... idea of her becoming fat. Startled, Beggar too disappeared between, likely to find and console his mate. Ennayoh and Stumpy both looked around for a moment, as if they were confused, before disappearing together, their meat scraps taken with them. Evidently the two blues were lost without their bronze to command them and without Roxie to take up the reigns whenever he was gone.
Ignoring the firelizards, Rawign wrapped his arms more firmly around Marra. His expression was nothing shy of a brilliant smile, but why shouldn't it have been? He'd been completely beside himself without Marra there. Everyone who knew him well had doubtlessly noticed and maybe it was pathetic, but he'd been barely functional at best. Reclusive was he to the point of embarrassment and yes, at times, he'd felt agitated with himself, but all of those bad feelings subsided with the fact that the person who made him happiest in the world, who chased away the feeling that something was inherently wrong with him (a fact he'd never admit but he'd always wondered - why else would he attract firelizards so fast but dragons completely ignore him?), was back in his arms, in his life. Marra kept the monsters in his head away, whether she realized it or not. He'd never admit it aloud, though. He was too proud.
"So I'm not beating anyone," he said with a smile. "I'm glad everyone was nice to you, I'd hate to have to get into a fight. I'm not very good at it, but don't tell anyone." Not that he ever came across as extraordinarily tough. No, Rawign wasn't weak or cowardly, if confronted he'd stand and fight. He'd fight his best and risk severe injury to himself and everyone else involved. But a good fighter he was not. He should have been as he definitely possessed a thorough knowledge of human anatomy, but Rawign was not designed to fight face-to-face; he was more the poison and walk out type. Some people would have called that cowardly but Rawign didn't care. He considered his method of dealing with confrontation smart. He'd never killed anyone but in Healer hall he'd come very close, when he was picked on by an older boy. Not that anyone suspected him or could prove anything. Poison was Rawign's specialty.
Move... in? Rawign blinked, turning his eyes down to meet Marra's gaze before tilting his head to the side. Technically speaking he was still a candidate, but as he didn't expect to Impress, he didn't see what it would hurt... "I'd have to ask, but... yes. Yes I can." If it came down to it he'd just sneak around. "But you'll have to get used to a fair of five fluttering about." One hand lifted to indicate ... nothing? Hmm, the flitters were gone. "Roxie, Li, Ennayoh, Stumpy and Beggar. I've a menagerie..." If he could have seen Li cuddled up with Mona, he probably would have been more amused by the whole idea. Despite not seeing the bronze (who went silent save to snuggle against his mate), he had the distinct feeling that Li would most definitely approve of the new living arrangements. He'd never made secret his fondness for Mona, after all.

Marra chuckled, nestling up closer to his body and laying her head on his chest. It was cute, how Rawign went to those clutches. But she still felt as though it were necessary to tease him a bit-- to make up for the times when she couldn't have. "No, I expected you to just push away those blues," she told him in the best huffy voice she could make. However, she was smiling a little as she said it. She knew it would be absolutely impossible to turn away a hatchling in need. She would never do it. Still, the thought was amusing that Rawign was such a magnet for the creatures. She might have to make him stand in the very back of any other hatching that he would choose to go to. As for her, she might stand up front. The thought of another creature flying around was nice... even though, together, they had six flitters. And the fact that Marra probably didn't deserve it... She frowned.
Chortling as Roxie angrily went between, followed immediately by all of her males. But she didn't stop to think about how much Roxie probably enjoyed them. This just gave her some time alone with Rawign, which she had sought but now felt bad about accepting. Determinedly tucking the guilt away for another day, she looked up back at him. She couldn't help but smile at his expression. He was so overjoyed to see her that he couldn't mask the bright smile from his expression. Trying to match it, Marra forced the muscles around her lips to make a strong smile. It wasn't necessarily the most dazzling, but it would work for now. So long as Rawign bought it. It felt bad, lying to him in this way, but she didn't want him to cast her aside if he found out. Keeping him out of the loop was the only surefire way she knew to ensure the fact that she would stay with him.
Yet the smile was still weak as he continued to talk. It didn't fade, of course, but there was a lot less effort to keep the smile nice. It sort of deflated, looking more loopy with each word Rawign spoke. Everyone was nice to her. Right. For a brief moment, Marra imagined herself telling Rawign about the Masterharper, just to see if he would fight him, but the things that could happen worried her too much to actually do so. It was shameful even to just think about it. It was over, she reminded herself. It was all in the past, so no use thinking about it anymore. As if to dispel those thoughts, she brought her lips to Rawign's, defying her worries. Holding her body close to his tightly, she felt herself calming with his warmth so close to hers. It was oddly relaxing... It was like a dream. It was with great reluctance that she broke the kiss.
Smiling a true smile in relief, she nodded eagerly. "I don't mind a fair hanging around here. Small price to pay," she told him sleepily, closing her eyes and resting back against his chest. Shards, he smelled so good. Mona was sure to be happy with Li hanging around, too. "So what about being a candidate? You still going to Stand?" she asked curiously, but didn't move her head to look at him. She was quite comfortable as it was, thank you very much. She very much liked the idea of Rawign getting a dragon, but it would be odd, not living with him for a whole turn. Although, maybe, she could bribe the Weyrlingmaster to let her live with him. But she needed to get paid again first, she thought with a frown.
Sighing, she started tugging Rawign toward her bed. She hoped he meant he would move in right away. She wanted to sleep with him tonight. He was so much warmer than her blankets. Oh, she wouldn't leave his arm for the next turn or two... She was going to be with him as often as she could be from now on, starting right now. "Let's sleep?" she asked with a yawn.

"You do not," Rawign replied, a hint of sulking creeping into his voice. He knew Marra well enough to know that if someone dumped a bunch of hungry, desperate firelizards in her lap, she'd feed them all and risk Impressing an entire clutch, regardless. She could say whatever she wanted. Marra wasn't the type of person who could let something die when it clearly needed help she could give. She liked pretending to be tougher, stronger, more wicked than she really was, but Rawign wasn't fooled, not anymore. Why was Marra frowning, anyway? He squinted and looked down at her and let the confusion show on his finely carved features, the unasked question of What's wrong? hanging in the air. They hadn't seen each other for months and Marra was so tense, then she looked sad, one minute happy... he wasn't sure what to make of it; part of him was deliriously happy to see her, but he had the worst feeling that Marra was not happy to see him, that he was burdening her in some way. Even though she'd asked him to stay, he still wasn't sure, and that nagging voice worried him. Normally with Marra he was a lot more sure of himself. She made him feel better. What was with the self-doubt...?
He was being silly. He was. Rawign pushed that thought out of the back of his mind, determined not to let his darker feelings, the ones that had kept him in a virtual daze since Marra left, cloud his judgment. He had little faith in himself anymore and he was not eager to suddenly show that to Marra. She had just come back and he would do everything in his power to make it worth it to her, to make her feel at home again in Selenitas. He would. Her tenseness was probably just awkwardness at being back after so long. Surely that was it. It was nothing more and he needed to stop reading ulterior motives into everything anyone did, as it was going to make him beat his head off things before all was said and do--
-- ooh, kiss. Self-doubt was washed away as he pulled her closer to him and returned her kiss, as though he felt like that one touch would chase away all the previous months. Secretly he did. He was determined to cling to Marra without becoming like a leech, but he missed her, and he wanted to chase away the dark memories and all that had happened. The melancholy that had swept the Weyr (not just him) was nearly overwhelming and Rawign didn't relish that feeling. The dark storm clouds that hung over head and blackened days. But Marra was his metaphorical sun, burning the clouds away with brightness nearly blinding; she alone lit up his world like the brightest of any glow. His dark mood faded and he smiled, leaning his forehead against hers. He was sure that later both he and Marra would hear it from Roxie, but for the moment there was peace. Total serenity.
"I don't plan to Stand. I don't know. If you want me to, I guess." He shrugged slightly. "Five firelizards is really too many. I have a hard time imagining anything else on top of it and a dragon requires a lot of responsibility too. I don't think any dragon would want me." Especially not with five firelizards to contend with but he'd felt like no dragon would want him before that. Not that he gave voice to that idea as her next suggestion prompted a slight yawn from him and Rawign squinted slightly. Sleep did sound magnificent. He allowed himself to be tugged toward the bed and kicked off his shoes before falling down. His arms were wound around Marra and he pulled her down with him before snuggling up against her, possessively. "Sleep sounds like an excellent idea." He hadn't slept well since before Marra left, and suddenly it felt like someone had pulled a weight off of his chest. Exhausted was an understatement.
