Such a sweet, cute kitty, Kalerary thought with nothing short of delight. She was careful in how she held him, too, though since the cub wasn't struggling, it wasn't that hard to dote upon him. She was nicely distracted, too, until the name Cezine caught her ear, and then the little girl bristled quite noticeably. She didn't speak though, mainly because the ScaryOne was talking to her and the greenrider both - and Kalerary carefully edged closer to Aliscia, as though she would protect her. Why was the bronzerider giving his kitty away? Didn't he want him? Why did bronzeriders have a habit of not wanting baby things? The thought made Kalerary visibly darken and the look she turned onto T'rid was not entirely pleasant. She did appreciate that he wanted to give her the kitty, but why wasn't it good enough for him? She decided to ask, temporarily focusing her full attention on T'rid.
"But that baby likes you. See how he climbs? Why's he not good enough for you?" she asked, and a small amount of hurt crept into her voice. She wasn't upset at T'rid. She was upset because of an entirely different bronzerider leaving when she was a baby - and that hurt only came from the fact that her mother had made it clear she did have a father, who just happened to be gone. Well, the mean bronzeriding man was not going to get rid of the little baby that easily. Not if she had her say. She scowled at him (from behind Aliscia's leg) and held the little orange kitten most insistently up toward the greenrider. "This one's sweet, he's good for a baby, you said you're having a baby right? If I was a baby I'd want this one -- if he really doesn't want his, I'll take the little kitty home." They could be bronzerider-rejected together, and plot to get them back by putting oil on the bottoms of their boots. That would teach them, it would. But -- maybe there was a better reason? She turned back to the old-guy and tilted her head back to look up at him curiously. "Corinth's your dragon? You should let him have a kitty if he wants! He's your dragon, don't you love him? You should take 'im, you should." As much as she really wanted a kitten, she didn't think that Z'hin would thank her for bringing one back without permission. Not at all.
On the subject of Z'hin, in her mind at least, Kalerary frowned, then spoke for all to hear, since she was addressing the pretty greenrider and the nice bluerider both. "You're the daddy of the baby Cezine's gonna have? How come she's hangin' around Z'hin then when she's got you?" she asked, not realizing that the comment could be potentially problematic. Curiosity at its finest. She edged closer to T'rid, giving him a look; she figured if she stood near him enough he'd take the little gray kitten and love it. If he refused, she was not above crying. Crying seemed to work very well on the Selenitas people for some reason. It never worked in the north but she was not above abusing a tactic if it got her what she wanted. Her gaze fell back on E'ri and she brightened. "I'll do that! See, then everybody gets a kitty, and you, mister bronzerider, get to keep the kitty and make your dragon happy --"
She was standing too close to him. Frightened, she scurried back over to Aliscia's leg, and hid back behind her, as though she expected to be protected. Her arms remained around the kitten she held, still loose enough that the greenrider could take him if she wished, but firm enough that he wouldn't fall. The amount of care she put into caring for how she held the kitten was probably surprising given her age, but Kalerary's mother had taught her young to be good to creatures and people. She listened - especially since her mother wasn't around anymore to tell her things. The memories were all that she had.
