Luckily for everyone involved, Kaius had been moved to his own room. He hadn't quite found out how Eikane had learned about he and Sena's relationship, and he couldn't say he actually blamed the wherlinmaster. Well, he could blame him. Despite what had happened, Kai was upset about not being able to spend as much time as he wanted to with his best friends. Kaiusk was sprawled out on the boy's bed as he returned from the girls' room. Eikane had been watching it like a hawk ever since he had gotten moved and made sure that Kaius had retired to his own room before it got too late.
The wher watched her handler with amused blues and greens in her eyes. Why love, you look unhappy. The tall boy glared at her, flopping onto his bed, which was currently been fully occupied by Kaiusk...so he just ended up awkwardly on top of the gold, blinking dramatically down at her. " Will you move?" Kaiusk chuckled, purring lightly and moving so that Kaius would fall onto the bed proper. Instead of getting up though, she sprawled her bulk over him, nuzzling his face and licking his neck for a moment. " I think we need to set some ground rules..." Kaius said from beneath his overly loving wher, who was now occupied by watching Kai's other mindmate.
King was poised on the boy's nightstand, paws perched on his water glass. He was staring out into space, tail flicking urgently. Kaius looked over at him for a moment, recognition dawning on his face. He knew what King looked like when he was about to chase. He didn't stop to think who the salamandyr wanted to chase. It didn't matter. Kaius had just gotten into trouble with Eikane for absolutely nothing. Imagine what the wherlingmaster would say if he knew that Kaius had fucked up Kaiusk by letting King chase.
" King no!" He cried out to the salamandyr, who wasn't listening. He probably would have been able to catch the bronze mandyr, if he had't been pinned down by a golden mass of wher...as the mandyr hesitated for half a second. As it was, Kai was trapped, and as he lunged for the mandyr, he had to work his was out from under Kaiusk...that was more than enough time for King to get away, darting out the door.
" No, no, no, no, NO!" He chanted, falling onto the bed empty handed. The flightlust struck him before he even had a chance to look up at Kaiusk. King had only chased one other time, so the experience was still new to the boy, but he knew what was happening. Kaius looked down at the boy, crooning in concern. Kailove, are you okay? Get up this instant! She hovered over him from the bed, as he fell onto his side. Chirping anxiously, Kaiusk reached out for her brother. Senskbluebrothermine! Mine seems to be in distress!
Though he knew it probably wasn't the best idea, Kaius lurched to his feet, silencing one of Kaiusk's croons. "Stay here, Ai. Just stay!" Ignoring her concern, he practically ran from the room to go bang on Sena's door. He didn't think about her being a girl, and his girlfriend to boot. She and Syd were just his best friends, so naturally he went to them for advice when he was distressed. Unfortunately, while he wasn't in full out runlust mode at the moment, it was getting there, and he knew it was coming. How he had managed not to sleep with anyone during the gold run was anyone's guess, and Levi sure was looking awfully shiny lately. OH FARANTH!
" SENA!" Kai howled, banging on the girls' door, not caring who he woke up in the process. "Help! King! Iunnowhattodoooo!" Yup. So pounding on your girlfriend's door when you both have immature mindmates that would likely be messed up if you had sex when you're about to get super horny seemed like a great idea.

Sena had decided that being left behind sucked.
Not that anyone really had left her behind. There was still an Azazel asleep with his head tucked under his wing in the corner of the room and a scatter of brightly-colored candies on the floor that marked Gabriel’s presence; Sensk was sprawled with his head in his lap and his tail thumping a rhythmic beat against her pillow, and even if Sydney and Sydsk weren’t there they were just as definitely coming back. The point remained, though: Sydney had to be a Healer and Kaius had to go to his own room and she really just wanted to go back to when they were all sharing a room. At least she always had at least one other person then.
“Not that you don’t count,” she added to Sensk, “’Cause you do, but you ain’t, like, human, y’know? But s’okay, c’mon sweetheart, let’s get up.” She patted Sensk again until the blue shifted his head off of her lap, and began to uncurl from the bed, scrubbing one hand through the small bird’s nest of her hair, frizzy-curly on one side and flat on the other. She’d stolen one of Kaius’s shirts to sleep in—pretty much the day they’d moved in together the first time actually, and mostly because it hit at mid-thighs on her and meant she didn’t have to wear pants if she didn’t want to—and after a moment of consideration she pulled up her hair into a messy ponytail because hey, most of the wherhandlers had already seen her sleep-deprived.
Couldn’t get much worse than that.
She’d padded over to the wardrobe to find clothes that included pants when Sensk’s head shot up abruptly, and the blue made a sharp confused noise in his throat, eyes flushing into bewildered yellows of alarm. Love…? he asked tentatively, and Sena hummed an obligatory go-ahead noise, turning towards the wher just in time to jump out of her skin at the pounding at her door. Sensk yelped in alarm and promptly rolled straight off the bed and scrambled under it, peering out with wide-eyed confusion as Kaius started yelling on the other side.
What about King?
Sena flew to the door anyway because that level of noise was just not natural, and yanked it open as fast as she could, grabbing Kaius’s hands as soon as she could to sort of reel him in, blurting out a bewildered, “What? Hey hey hey, calm down, s’okay, I have absolutely no idea what you’re talkin’ about right now, calm down and breathe, okay? C’mere, you wanna sit down?”
Kaiusk did say he was distressed, Sensk ventured timidly, still under the bed, although he’d ventured halfway out to peer at Kaius in confusion. Kaius was not normally so very scary, after all. Normally Kaius was quite un-scary, actually. This noise thing was unprecedented. Therefore, scary. As Sena threw him a bewildered look, Sensk peered anxiously at her, and then at Kaius, and then retreated back under the bed again. He’d just…stay here.

“Ow,” C'loy muttered, rubbing his disheveled, blonde hair for the third time in ten minutes. He looked up quickly, searching for the magic food deliverer that had been gracing him with treats, but fail once again to locate it. Small bits of food had been falling from the sky, much to the hungry boy's delight- after his rather exhausting run the blonde couldn't bring himself to go to the dining hall for a proper meal. But it seemed that whatever higher power existed had been privy to his plight, and directed a magical creature to conjure up food... and drop it on his head. C'loy didn't particularly care, the small discomfort of the thunks that followed were a small price to pay for the snacks he was receiving.
After the third delivery of food, C'loy decided he absolutely must capture it's source, and enslave befriend it. Maybe he would be able to convince the magic thing to bring him food for whenever he wanted! Yes, that sounded pretty good. There! C'loy blinked in surprise as a brown firelizard swooped towards him, clutching a sweetie in it's talons. “Hey!” the boy called. The flit, startled, squawked in surprise and abruptly angled his body away from the weyrling. “Wait, come back!” C'loy called again, groaning as he got to his feet. Why was he this sore? It didn't really matter, because he absolutely had to follow the brown flit if it killed him.
C'loy jogged in pursuit, and it didn't take long to figure out where it was heading. Well, Sena had said he could visit the wherhandler's apartments, didn't she? He smiled slightly, he hadn't seen the girl since her impression at the wher hatching, and perhaps after catching the magic flit, he could drop by and visit her... and Kai too! Oh yes, he must make time to go visit the new gold handler. But first, the flit.
C'loy lost sight of the firelizard, as it slipped into the apartments. Frustrated, the bronzerider halted at the entry way. He really couldn't just run in there and start tearing the place a part- that would wake the handlers, they wouldn't be awake yet. Chewing on his bottom lip, the blonde crossed his arms. What to do, what to do, what to- oh! Well that sounded like Kai! What we he doing, banging on the door. Well, C'loy decided, if Kai could make noise, why couldn't he? “KAIUSSSS” he literally yelled, sauntering up to the distressed boy in a way the Kallandrith would have dissaproved. “Seen a magic flit by any chance? Whats up with you weirdo?” Because obviously Kauis was the weird one, not C'loy.
C'loy's glee turned quickly into confusion as none other than Sena threw open the door and dragged Kai in after her. Uh oh, what going on in there? C'loy, being nosy, slipped in the door after them, freezing as he took in the sight before him. “Umm?” He muttered, pointedly looking away from Sena (because apperantly looking at half dressed girls was bad, who knew?) and at Kaius who seemed to be having a break down. “Whats up guys?” In the back of his mind, he felt Kallandrith begin to stir.

When Sena opened the door, Kaius all but tumbled into the room, not helped by the fact that the girl was ahold of his hand before he had much of a chance to walk in on his own. There was some momentary surprise there, before his eyes widened and he was on her bed. This room was so familiar to him. He had lived in here for most of his wherlinghood, before Eikane had moved him. Now here he was again, knowing what would happen. Suddenly, he looked over and there was a...C'loy...standing there? Kaius blinked in confusion. " Cas? What're you doin' here?"
He muttered a moment before turning back to Sena. Oh yes. The run. That took precedence. The run lust wasn't as strong as it was about to be, so he was able to think clearly, warn Sena. " King just left. I think he might be chasing. I don't know what to do. Kaiusk isn't old enough for me to sleep with anyone, and...and I don't want to hurt her...at all. But...I don't know how to stop it." He looked pleadingly at his friends, both Sena and Cas. Maybe one of them could think of something before he went out of his mind.
And he would. Already, he had to keep himself from kissing Sena. He looked at her longingly. Making out with his girlfriend wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but there were two problems. One, Cas was here...and it would be terribly awkward to make out with her while he was...watching, and two, he knew that once he started, he wouldn't be able to stop himself from trying to do...other things...whether she wanted them or not. And he didn't want to hurt Sena either, in any way.
Kaiusk crooned from her spot on Kai's bed, leaping onto the floor to pad to the door and paw pleadingly at Sensk's mind. Bluebrother, is mine alright? I'm so very worried! She didn't want to make her boy mad by going over there, but at the same time she didn't want to sit idly by and let him hurt!

Where in the world had a C’loy come from.
Sena threw the bronzerider a bewildered look (which he probably missed since he was very studiously not looking at her—a nicety that entirely escaped Sena; she hadn’t the faintest idea why he wasn’t and, well, that wasn’t important anyway) at the same time Kaius did—and he vocalized it quite nicely for her so she didn’t have to. How convenient. Until Kaius turned back to her, anyway. Although at least he was making more sense now. The bad kind of sense, but sense nonetheless. Sena’s eyes went wide in alarm and she threw a bewildered glance at Sensk and then in the direction of Kaius’s room, where she presumed there was a Kaiusk.
“Okay,” she blurted, “Okay, c’mon, come in, you’re stayin’ in here for now, okay? C’loy, you mind openin’ that door for Sensk, he can go hang out with Kaiusk for now, and Sensk be a sweetheart and bug Eikane for me?” Actually, her being there at all probably wasn’t the best idea she’d ever had in her life, but it wasn’t like Sena could just leave Kaius there to flail until rescue in the form of a hopefully more experienced Eikane came. Hopefully he wasn’t busy. Or if he was then maybe Nausi wouldn’t be busy or failing that then…then she’d just have to improvise, which was maybe not the best plan ever, but it’d have to do.
Sensk threw her a disgruntled look and eased out from under the bed cautiously to slip past Kaius with a wide-eyed glance that suggested he suspected Kaius might spontaneously turn into a monster. He offered C’loy a shy croon, nudging against the door of Kaius’s room and tilting his head at the bronzerider expectantly. Open please? His sister was here, he explained, and then added to Kaiusk a reassuring croon, even if he was anything but comfortable. He was sure it would be okay, he answered, barely keeping himself from automatically emphasizing the future tense, they’d get people and it would be okay…
And speaking of, he threw a broadcast loop to seek out Eikask, pinpointing his mother with a warm shyness. Sena liked Eikane—so the older gold wasn’t entirely unfamiliar to her, but still, she wasn’t—obviously—Sesk or Kaiusk or Sydsk. Mother, the blue appealed, if it isn’t trouble for Yours…Kaiusk’s Salamandyr is Chasing and it’s quite upsetting; couldn’t Yours please come and help Mine keep him from scaring Kaiusk? Oh, he added, because he supposed there ought to be a warning tacked on to the end of it, and there is a bronzerider here...don’t know why though. But he’s nice, Mine says.
Sena, meanwhile, was doing her best to manhandle a Kaius further into the room, the door left open for the sake of maneuverability, and to settle him onto her bed, mouth screwed up in concentration as she plopped down next to him, still holding his hands cautiously like that would maybe offer some kind of control. It probably didn’t at all. “So what, you doin’ okay so far? Should we try ’n distract you or hold you down or what, Eikane should be comin’ if he ain’t busy, should be okay in a coupla minutes…maybe it’ll pass, maybe it won’t last long?”

“Looking for the magic food flit,” the weyrling said as if was the most normal thing in the world (It was). “What are you doing?” Obviously something was up, and C'loy just had to know what it was. The whole situation seemed kinda ridiculous, Kai was never unsettled by anything, meaning obviously the world was ending or he just found out that he impressed a gold... oh wait...
His mouth dropped open in an understanding “oh.” Well this wasn't good. Wait wait wait! Why was Kaius going to Sena for help? Where they a... a thing? Oh hell no, why was he not informed of this! Not that he didn't approve, but why on earth wasn't he invited to the little lovey dovy pow wow? Oh right, King was the problem right now, he could complain after they solved Kauis's predicament. C'loy snuck a look at Sena, and shook his head slightly. She should step away from the soon to be crazed goldhandler. As Sensk aproached, C'loy obliged and opened the door quickly. It was when he saw the young blue, and then gold did it comprehend how unfortunate it was that King had decided to give chase. Shards.
The strange thing about the weyrling is that his happy go lucky attitude seamed to disappear whenever he felt that the situation he was faced with was one that would actually benefit by not having him behave like a child. So quickly as he watched Sena try to calm Kauis, the responsible C'loy emerged. The boy stepped forward and firmly placed his hand on the boy's shoulder, ready to restrain him if it became necessary. “Sena, can you get him some water do you have any water we could give him? Kaius, just relax, it will be alright, just concentrate on...” C'loy looked around the room for something- anything that would possibly be able to distract the wherling from his mandyr's chase. Of course, C'loy had never directly been involved in any sort of mating flight, so he could not possibly comprehend what Kauis was going through, but he could still try and help his friend.
“Concentrate on... me.” and not Sena. C'loy was being completely serious, if Kai could manage to concentrate on the blonde boy and channel his confused emotions towards him, perhaps his disgust would outway his salamandyr's flight lust. Just maybe. Of course, the other outcome might be the the goldhander might try and jump him, and that would be unfortunate indeed.

Eikane had a bit of advance warning about Cotton's run. Just because Nocturne didn't bother to chase any salamandyrs other than Dementia anymore didn't mean the blue was unaware of others that occured. He'd asked the blue very politely to keep an eye out for running greens and golds because he had a couple of wherlings with salamandyrs. Kaius, Vivano, and Cainith all had males. Rather annoying that so many had them but oh well, he'd gotten Nocturne while Eikask was just a baby too (not that Nocturne had chased before the gold had matured enough to handle it, thank Faranth).
So yes, when Eikask lazily informed him that Kaiusk's was misbehaving, as she put it, the goldhandler had a pretty good idea what the cause was. "Well then dear, come along. Can't have your daughter getting all traumatized," the man said, emphasizing the familial relation to get the gold over the fact that it was another gold. Eikane genuinely feared what would happen if an unrelated gold had to share the weyr with his little monster of a queen. The only other golds Eikask tolerated were her mother, her daughter, and sometimes Dementia. The latter probably only because she was connected to Nocturne who was in turn connected to Hers.
Eikane had been taking a stroll out of the apartments but he wasn't so far away that it would take him long to reach...really? Sena and Sydney's room? The goldhandler sighed tiredly. He'd split the couple into separate rooms once he'd found out about their relationship - an excercise of parsing rumours for the truth and observation - to avoid having them screw each other's whers up by accident. Kind of about to be negated if Kaius was going to search out his girlfriend in these cases. Eikane popped into the doorway of the wherling apartment and took in the scene. Also, random bronzerider much? Eikask had mentioned it but, still, weird.
"Eh, let him focus on whatever he wants. He might be lost either way," Eikane commented, slipping into the room and closing the door. He paused for a moment before shrugging and locking it too, even though Eikask parked herself right in the way of the door once he moved away from it. "Easier to just pin him down somehow and let it run its course. Also, if any of you have any weapons on you I suggest you leave 'em over by Eikask. She's an accomplished person-sitter when the situation calls for it," Eikane added dryly, remembering his Impression.
