It was only because she was being bothered by it to the point of insanity that the teen was striding purposely out into the Weyrbowl, her eyes barely glancing at the people hovering around the goods that had just been recently dropped off. Even a few candidates were hovering around it helping out, but she had managed to weasel out of it, because as stated, she was being driven to the brink of insanity.
What's funny is she was being driven to it by a dead man's trinket. The keyword being dead and yet her fear was still all too real to her. Granted, it wasn't as bad as when Z'ves was alive, but it really was something that he would do. Pretending to die but still be alive. The only reason this doubt hadn't festered even greater fear in her was the fact that all the dragons had keened at Lucith's suicide between. If the dragon betweened then it was all over for the rider. She hoped.
But her apart obsession with the silver brush she had stolen from the rider did not end, and though she had told her mandyr to hide itduring the earthquake at the old Weyr, she had not expected it to turn into a game. An infuriating game, in which the teen was beginning to fear the mandyr had actually forgotten where she hid the Sharding thing. A fact vehemently denied by the green every time the teen even dared to suggest it. A green currently hiding under her tunic again, because even though the teen was pretty sure M'ta knew at this point about the mandyr, the green had found her favorite spot on the teen's person, though it had ended with her being thrown against some of the stone walls a couple times. She was still chiding Hers for throwing her with an audience watching. Which was rather embarrassing on the green's part and had her hiding in some far off place for a sevenday.
Back to the teen being driven insane.
She stopped in the middle of the Bowl, peering about as she tried to find a rider who would likely take her to Selenitas(Because Burimyu was still Burimyu), she felt a brief pang of sadness. The earthquake had killed those few she had known, well really the one she had really ever talked to and grown fond of. The body they had found had been so mangled, she wasn't even sure that it was Armind, but she had quickly squashed the hope that had risen in her chest and refused to nurture it as she had done her fear of Z'ves.
Blowing a bang out of her face with a sigh, she frowned. Well. This was annoying. She lived in a Weyr and she couldn't spot a potential rider that might actually take her somewhere. Granted, she was a candidate that should probably be doing chores instead of looking through ruins for some Sharding trinket, but still. There had to be someone right?

Er’ani quite frankly looked a bit odd. He was wearing only his flight leather pants and a pair of leather sandals. His chest was completely bare except for the black and blood red war paint the had brushed in intricate patterns across his chest. There was also a yellow line of tiny flitter paw prints trailing up his left pectoral muscle. Cursory of Snowdrop who had been painted as well. A bright yellow mask was painted across the green flit's face and yellow rings circled her tail. The albinorider had been letting his hair grow till it was about shoulder length and he left it mostly loose except for a few feathers braided into it here and there. With his quiver of arrows slung over his back, (fletched with bright jungle bird feathers), along with his bow he looked like some old time Terran Indian. If only his sun tan had been darker he might have passed for one on earth. His hair was certainly black enough. Right now he was trying to get Lketh to cooperate but the albino was having none of it.
“Come on buddy. It’s just a little paint. Like the sun balm I rub on you all the time only bright?” The dragon just gave him a look, eyes whirling in placid shades as he again pressed a mental feeling of disproval on him and nothing else. "Pleaaaaaaaase? I’ll make it up to you? At least roll in the mud or something? Just a little bit? I’ll bathe you when we get back.” The white dragon snorted and pressed another feeling of disproval upon him. “You’re no fun at all.” Er’ani complained as Snowdrop chirped in agreement. “It’s just like in our books. I know you love the stories. You act em out with us all the time. A little mud is not going to make you die and you’ve done it before.” Swinging his head around Lketh nudged his hard in the chest with his snout. It is getting colder out there. You will catch your death one of these days. Put on some layers.
Er’ani pouted at his soul mate. “I will not. It’s still plenty warm and we’re not going up into the mountains today. Just playing wild hunter and you are my pinto runner. Least you could do is let me give you black spots.” The albino dragon rumbled again in discontent. “Lkeeeeeeeeeth please?” The male flared his near translucent wings and instead of responding turned his head as he caught sight of a girl that had been wandering about the area. Almost gently he mentally prodded his rider to look in that direction. When they were not at drills or playing in flight and on the ground his chased anything female that moved currently it seemed. Perhaps it would get the boy’s mind off of trying to slather his hide in itchy mud. Blinking Er’ani turned in that direction and gave a low whistle.
Winking at his dragon Er’ani flicked a feather out of his face and started towards the girl. Candidate by her knots. Tossing a charming smile at Rosanna as he approached he ran a hand through his hair. “Hey there. You look lost. Can I help you with something maybe?” Giving her another winning smile he bowed. “Er’ani of Lketh at your service.” His dark brown eyes flicked to her face as he straightened to gauge her reaction. He was becoming a bit of an expert at reading females to be honest. Just had to see what strings he needed to pull with this one.

She had to do a double take at the approaching man to really take in all of him. She was so amazed by his outfit that she didn't see the smile he was throwing her way, the charming and supposedly winning smile, until he was bowing. Blinking away her disbelief that anyone would walk around bare chested with paint all over him, she managed the proper respectful curtsy that was due all dragonriders. Granted, it probably looked rather odd considering she wore trousers stuffed into her boots under her the skirt she mused wryly. Because if she did manage to get a ride, it would really be cumbersome if she had to hunt through the ruins in a skirt. Though she didn't know if the rider had noticed.
"Candidate Rosanna," she replied smoothly, quickly deciding that maybe, even though he was the oddest rider she had ever seen, that she could get a ride to the Weyr out of him. She returned her smile, schooling her features into something he might expect: smile sweet and welcoming, eyes flashing as they quickly appraised him. She hoped she had managed to hide the surprise and unimpressed flash that had crossed her features after he disbelief had faded. With a quick glance behind the rider she caught sight of the albino dragon, that fact making her slightly more at ease in Er'ani's presence. He at least wasn't a Wastelander and probably hated, despised and mistrusted them almost as much as she did, probably more.
"Actually," she continued in the same smooth tone, feeling the mandyr rustle against her chest at the presence of the firelizard, and quickly hushed her though she knew the green would be polite as long as she or Er'ani were around, otherwise the green flitter would be fair game, "You can help me. Do you think you could possibly manage to give me a ride to old Selenitas? I'm afraid I've lost something very important, I'm hoping to find it there. Maybe you could help me search as well? It'll go so much faster with two."
She let him think what he would, smiling at him her expression hopeful. She barely flinched as she felt Cotton shiver again, the spines surrounding the base of her head rising slightly at her displeasure. Firelizards were not allowed in her presence. That ultimate rule had just been broken.

Flashing her another grin Er’ani let his eyes briefly pass over her as he noted the curtsy. He didn’t really understand why she was wearing pants under that skirt. Except maybe for the fact that female dragonriders rarely wore skirts. It was impractical. Even if it did give a nice view of legs. Still the girl was a candidate by her knots, so she should wear skirts while she could get away with such. In his opinion anyway. When she spoke her name the young rider’s brow furrowed in concentration. Where had he heard that before? Er’ani was concentrating on that fact so hard that he failed to notice the looks she gifted him with. Only when the girl snuck a look at Lketh did it dawn on him in a sudden epiphany.
“Wait! I know you! You stood with me the clutch I impressed Lketh at. You were there when those sharding wastelanders tried to kill him.” Though to be honest at the time he had been far too busy facing down a rider that was trying to slit his baby dragon’s throat to pay attention to anything else. It was only though intervention of Behruth and Millieth that Lketh had escaped that fateful day with his life. Even though not long after the little dragon had started to develop medical issues solely do to the fact that he was indeed an albino. Couldn’t synthesize sunlight and all that. Still the wastelanders had allowed the dragon to live. Probably because they feared some type of uprising if they didn’t. It all worked out fine though in the end. Lketh performed his duties as a dragon wonderfully and he was amazing in the air. Speedy and a perfectionist when it came to maneuvers. Yes baring the fact that the white dragon was sensitive to sunlight he did well on the wing. Goggles and sun balm took care of those problems quite nicely after all.
Emerging from his thoughts he offered Rosanna another smile though it almost faltered a bit at her request. “Old Selenitas? You left something behind?” Snowdrop chirped pleasantly from her perch on Er’ani’s shoulder at the girl. Yes that was what the female had said was not he listening? She did so apologize for him he could be dreadfully silly sometimes. The firelizard continued to chirp pleasantly to the candidate for a moment until the rider raised a hand to shush her.
“Well Lketh and I were just about to go out hunting. But I suppose that we could make a quick side trip if you promise to keep quiet about it? I don’t think anyone is supposed to be lurking around that area. For one it’s dangerous and unstable and for two I don’t know if the north has people randomly patrolling over here. If we got caught by one of them we might be in big trouble.” He glanced around to make sure no one was in ear shot. “That being said I’m not really a stickler for rules. So as long as you promise to stay close to me and listen if something happens I’ll take you. Do we have a deal?” His dark eyes met hers for a moment. Really it was the kind of adventure the teenager wouldn’t pass up but there was some danger involved and Er'ani didn’t much relish having to possibly chase her through half collapsed hallways if worse came to worse.
Half turning back towards Lketh he gave Rosanna a curious look. “So. What did you leave behind anyway?”

The sudden epiphany from the younger rider brought a smattering of memories sliding through her brain, many involving the dark feeling that had hung over the entire day, and the spilling of ichor on the Sands. It sent of a shiver through her spine, the old hate and rage rearing its head at the memories, though she didn't know what Er'ani would take the shiver for. She hadn't forgotten him, but she had never much learned his name so focused on her task at making the Wastelander's lives living between.
"Yes, I remember," she replied, her voice slightly subdued as she paused on the memory of the candidate jumping in front of the albino dragon to save him, a candidate if she remembered correctly, despised the mutations almost as much as the Wastelanders did before Lketh. Rosanna gave a wan smile to the firelizard, having to subdue her own mandyr at the green's friendliness, Cotton thoroughly displeased by it. She was grateful that the green mandyr's want for the image of perfection kept her still and hidden, but the chirp grated on Cotton's nerves, and the mandyr gave a little subdued hiss before sending an angry thought at the firelizard. Rosanna was Hers and ugly little green should not be friendly with Hers.
Cotton, Rosanna scolded as Er'ani handed out his terms, What happened to perfection?
Too friendly, Cotton replied with another low hiss. That was one thing she had learned in her two Turns with Rosanna, she could be as secretly mean as she wanted when she was hidden in the teen's shirt, and none would be the wiser.
"I promise," Rosanna replied with an eager nod, inwardly snorting at Er'ani's caution. Did he think she was deadglowed? It wasn't like she'd go running off through the tunnels and force him to chase after her, that could entail her losing her ride and maybe future ones if she played her cards right. The fact that a Sharding brush was bothering her so much just made her that much more short tempered, and she'd rather not be short tempered more than she already was because that tended to lead her to do things she regretted later.
She paused in her step after Er'ani as he turned toward Lketh, "A family heirloom."
Simple. Simple was always best when trying to hide something, and a heirloom was the perfect reason to go after it in dangerous ruins. Most would understand the threat of an angry parent, having given their child their most precious piece of property only to have it lost. Indeed, the wrath of the adults would almost e greater than Millieth's during that terrible hatching.

For a moment Er’ani was honestly silent as Rosanna seemed to go through the flashback sequence that near all of the people that had been present for that hatching were bound to have. Some of his old classmates had not been so lucky. Like Portia. But she had gone on to reimpress. Indeed some of them who survived had. Others had not. His dark eyes reflected sorrow at that thought before they focused again on Lketh. Luck. That was what it had all come down to for him. Even as the thought slipped through his mind Lketh turned his head his red eyes whirling just a touch faster as he softly corrected his rider. No. Not luck. Destiny. With that he fell back to his wordless mental communication. The albino did not often speak unless he had something he thought was profound to say. Or if he needed to give explanation or direction to another. He rarely had spoken to a human as well besides Er’ani. M’ta a few times and Terilyn was the only other. Not that that was queer or anything. Just curious.
For a moment it was silent between the human pair except for a sudden peep from Snowdrop. Rustling her fragile transparent wings she offered the little mandyr she could not see a confused apology. She did not know? She didn’t mean to upset. Oh heavens no! Nor did she want to keep Rosanna, she had her own after all. Confused at the little creature’s ire the green flit merely rubbed her head against her bonded’s jaw and fell silent. She liked making new friends a lot. But this one looked like it might take some work to achieve. Not that Snowdrop wasn’t willing, she was just confused.
Er’ani nodded at Rosanna’s promise. “Alright then. If you have everything you need we can leave now.” Smiling at her he turned to head towards his dragon. “Family heirloom huh? Sounds interesting? You from a hold?” The rider had to admit that he really hadn’t gotten to know any of the candidates he had stood with. It just hadn’t been important at the time. Lketh crooned softly at Rosanna as she approached and then couched at the wordless request from his. Striding up to the beast Er’ani handed the girl a harness, watching carefully to make sure she had properly fastened it before offering the girl a leg up. He didn’t have a second harness so he was just going to go sans straps. He was used to it. Plus it gave the benefit of Lketh having to tone down his daredevil flight a bit so he didn’t risk tossing Er’ani off his back on accident. No need to scare the poor girl with the way the albino whipped around in the air. Making sure Rosanna was carefully strapped in the young man swung up in front of her. “You can grab onto me at anytime if you feel you need to. We’ll be going between once we clear the air space above the weyr. Not sure if you’ve ever been between but it’s terribly cold. Only lasts a few seconds though. About the time it takes for you to cough three times at longest.”
As he spoke he felt Lketh gather himself. “You ready?” After getting the go ahead Er’ani directed the albino dragon beneath him to take off. Launching into the air the pale dragon winged up towards the tunnels and it wasn’t long before he had broken into the clear air above the mountain weyr. He had been able to acquire coordinates from Ismaroth with little difficultly, and so passing them on to his he waited for the rider to fix them in his mind. “Alright. Here we go. Slipping between in three, two, one.” The black void engulfed them in the next moment before Lketh emerged into warm air above the waterfall that still dominated the shattered canyon below.
For a moment the dragon hovered in place as Er’ani shot a glance back at Rosanna his teeth chattering. “You alight?” Damn he probably should have worn a shirt. He was pretty sure he had frostbite on his nipples now. Whoops.

Shhhh. They were hunting...snakes!
Actually, it was more like they were checking the traps for tunnelsnakes, and Cootie was taking great enjoyment out of killing the poor trapped beasts. All the more so because she was hunting them for Hers! See how helpful and wonderful she was, providing him with tasty treats like any proper huntress should? (In exchange he would climb up the dangerous shifty rocks to raid nests so that Cootie could have some of her favorites. Eggs.) She had become an expert snake-slayer. Even the bigger ones now had best beware, because she knew right where to bite, and then she just hung on until they stopped flopping around.
Armind stayed crouched behind the rocks a good distance away so as not to alert the tunnelsnake to its imminent doom. At first he'd worried about the green, but it turned out she was much better at this than either of them might have expected. Soon enough, just as with the four others they'd found in his traps today, the tunnelsnake stopped thrashing. Dinner! Cootie called sweetly, releasing the snake to climb on top of its head in triumph.
By now Armind had decided that he was immune to Cootie's epic cooties. He had to be. It was the privelege that came with being mind-linked to her. The boy bounded over to the snake and added it to his sack, holding out his hand for his fierce little lady to join him. "This should be enough." Cootie preened at the boy's pleased tone. Upriver? "Tomorrow morning." A response he'd given her the last sevenday.
Armind didn't want to stay here anymore. It wasn't that he was afraid of the dark, or that the night noises had started to get more scary. The wayward child who'd been left behind in the rubble of the earthquake (and hidden himself away from subsequent sweeps because he didn't know who the dragonriders were and wasn't sure he wanted to be a dragonrider anymore, anyway) was not afraid of anything. He wasn't lonely, either. The other candidates must miss him, was all. Of course he could continue living like this, adult-free and wild with no rules or schedules. He could be the king of the jungles! But maybe his old friends might need a king.
So he'd hatched this plan to go upriver. Only problem was he didn't know what was up there or how he was going to keep the boat he'd rescued from one of the recent storms from floating away downriver while he slept. It was something of a dilemna...the familiar popping sound he'd barely heard at all this last month sent Armind scrambling, clinging to his bag of tunnelsnakes as the shirtless child flashed across the rocks, bare feet unhurt by the terrain. He'd been shoeless for awhile now. He dove under the overturned boat and lay on his stomach, only then opening his palm to make sure Cootie was okay (even though he'd know if she wasn't). The boy breathed really, really quietly. Listening. They hadn't seen him, had they?

Cotton was barely mollified by the firelizards apology, if anything she was actually more insulted that the flitter had dared to talk to her, even as she she was pleased that the ugly green had sense enough to bow under her will. Which was rather conflicting to the green mandyr to be sure, so she chose to be silent.
It was good that Rosanna had gone through so many candidate lessons at this point, or else when Er'ani handed her the straps she would have looked at him with a blank expression, or else just started acting ever so slightly high and mighty and sweetly demand he strap her on, but that would involve the rider getting closer into her personal space than she really cared for. Allowing herself to be helped up onto the ablino blue, Rosanna took her place strapping herself in and staying still as Er'ani made slight adjustments to it.
"Yes, I'm from Southern," she finally answered, feeling Cotton shift closer to her chest as the word between popped up. Even the thought of the cold made Rosanna shiver, a small fear of the darkness resting in her chest. It wasn't as if she hadn't ever gone between before, more of just.... unconscious when she had. She just remembered waking up to a Healer yelling at a young rider about taking an injured patient between while she noticed her arm was rather cold and numb. The Healers never did answer her question about whether she would lose her arm, but then she didn't know if she wanted the answer even now with it back in commission, even if she couldn't quite hold a needle steady yet.
Rosanna nodded gave a murmured yes just before she felt herself jerked as the dragon took off into the air. She could only hope she would get more used to it, even when she had been Searched she hadn't really been prepared for it. Cotton was more comfortable braced against Rosanna herself, but then the mandyr was rather small too so her weight was hardly displaced as she dug her talons in. Rosa gave a hiss of pain even as the count down to between began.
"Oh Sha-" she began, literally throwing her arms around Er'ani as her heart beat fast against her rib cage. And she was left alone with it. In the endlessness that was between she could see nothing, feel nothing, hear nothing but her pounding heart in her chest. She couldn't breath. Even as her fear reached its peak, her arms tightening around Er'ani's chest to the point she thought she might be cutting off his air, they appeared above the shattered Weyr, Cotton squirming from Hers's reaction and the cold.
Rosanna took in a a breath, the gasp audible as she realized she had been about to scream from the overpowering blackness that they had just escaped. It took her a moment to answer the rider, completely leaning against him, having to force her frozen arms to loosen.
"I-I'm fine," she forced out, shivering at the cold harsh air, marveling now that it was actually warmer than it had felt back at Burimyu. Obviously. They had just come from between, duh.
Shaking herself, and forcing herself to sit back, Rosanna finally noticed that Cotton was now shaking from excitement rather than cold or protectiveness. And before Rosanna could discern exactly what the mandyr was excited about, or why there was suddenly excited chirping from within her shirt, the green wiggled out of the neck and was in the air, gliding past Er'ani(oh whoops, she hadn't meant hit ugly flitter green with her tail, sorry), and was gone.
"Um..." was all she could really manage, hoping Er'ani's non-sticklerness for the rules kept him from telling M'ta about the mandyr that just conveniently exited her shirt. She thought M'ta knew, but she really didn't need the fact public.
As for Cotton, well, she had just found a clutchmate.
Hide long, yes yes. Good hider, she sent toward Cootie, a brief gust of wind shooting her over the over turned boat so she hit the water with a splash. A moment later the green salamandyr flapped out of the water, diving right in under the boat to land right on Armind's head, almost exactly as she had so long ago to Rosanna, and procceeded to settle down in his curls.
Cold, cold. Cootie's pet warm, was all she said, deciding that since Armind had been a favorite of Hers(something Rosanna really didn't like discussing) she would include him in her statement. Purring with brief amusement, she sent Cootie another thought, Hide from Cotton's pet, yes yes.
So, no, Rosanna didn't know where the Sharding mandyr had gone, or that Armind's head had just become her soaking wet nest for the moment.

Well if how tightly she was squeezing him was any indication it looked like Rosanna had just had the crap scared out of her. Not literally but whatever. At any rate the feel of her clinging to him so tightly wasn’t really that unpleasant, especially considering his torso was half frozen. So Er’ani was content to let her cling and transfer body heat into his much colder frame. At least he was starting to thaw a little with her pressed so close. He could even feel his nipples now yay! Lketh gave the equivalent of a mental eye roll to that thought though he held off on mentally berating his. Instead he just offered thick dissaproval. The albinorider narrowed his eyes at his dragon before responding back to the girl who had just finally released him.
“Good. I know it’s a little shocking. I’ll have Lketh look for a place to land.” As he mentally directed the hovering albino dragon to land Snowdrop on his shoulder suddenly chirped in surprise as a green missile shot past her and swatted her. The filt coiled her tail tighter about her bonded’s throat and keened softly to him. Why was she so mean? All she wanted to be was friends, Slightly alarmed Er’ani reached up to consol his flit and half turned his head so that he could see Rosanna. “Um was that mandyr yours?” He asked half leaning over Lketh’s neck so that he could try and catch sight of the shape of the swiftly disappearing green mandyr. “I guess that’s a stupid question. A better one would be do you know where she is going?”
Even as his bonded spoke the white dragon was descending. He made sure to keep scanning the sky however. Just in case. As they neared the broken and shattered canyon Er’ani’s eyes fixed themselves on the waterfall and the mess the canyon had mostly become. It was both sobering and fascinating how quickly the jungle around it seemed to be reclaiming it. Though to be fair the earthquake was in April so it had been almost five months since it happened. Almost half a turn. Which was no small amount of time but still. Dark eyes flicked over the landscape before Lketh finally found a stable spot to land on the top of what was once called the Western wall.
As the male settled himself and folded his wings Er’ani turned back to Rosanna. “I guess here is as good a place as any to start. I don’t know if you want to try and find your mandyr or find your heirloom first? I mean if you called her back would she listen?” Because the teenager rather doubted that she would want to leave her pet behind after nightfall. The albinorider knew he wouldn’t had it been Snowdrop that disappeared. The flit around his neck chirped. As if. She was much smarter then that mean ol thing. Slipping off Lketh’s neck, as the albino crouched, the rider reached up to offer the candidate a hand down. “Do you remember what side of the weyr you left your heirloom in? The eastern or the western wall?” Might as well get some information while he was waiting for her to decide just what they wanted to do first.
Alright Buddy once I get her down you make yourself scarce. You’re pretty noticeable and if sweeps are randomly surfing this place you’ll stick out like a sore thumb. It was a very good thing that the jungle was thick and nearby. A pulse of understanding crossed the bond along with the quiet mental words. You be careful. With that the albino gave a soft croon to Rosanna and then slipped off to enter the tree line. He didn’t stay in place though. Instead he wound through the trees on a mission. Why stay still when there were things to be seen and he could return back to his rider in the blink of an eye?

Though Cootie had not had the vantage point that Cotton had and thus had not seen the other green when she was curled up in Armind's grasp and they were racing across the rocky terrain, she had no trouble whatsoever in recognizing her mindvoice. Sister! she exclaimed, in a mix of warm greeting and surprise. "Shhh!" Armind hissed at his 'mandyr, who announced just as most 'mandyrs did. Fortunately she was never a particularly loud thing, so the broadcast probably hadn't reached their visitors. Hopefully.
The boy had no idea what to do about the salamandyr nestling into his hair. He probably would have recognized her if he'd gotten a good look at her, but the only information that he had right now was that she was one of Cootie's sisters and that she was bonded to a dragonrider. (Of course it did not occur to him that the one riding that pale dragon might have brought a dragonless passenger.) Plus, wasn't she telling him to keep hiding?
Cootie for her part was overjoyed to see another 'mandyr again after so long. She'd almost forgotten what her own breed looked like! How silly! The 'mandyr raced up Armind's arm to come join Cotton on hers' head. She coiled right up with Cotton and began licking the moisture off her sister's hide. Happy, the green purred, never using more words than she had to to get her point across.
Armind wasn't quite so happy, considering when he shifted forward on his belly to peek out from under the bottom of the boat he couldn't see who might have come here, but he could see the end of a very large dragony tail sliding past only feet away. What if it was one of the Wastelanders who'd Impressed salamandyrs at the same clutch? The boy suppressed a shiver. Out here they could do whatever they wanted with him. No one would be the wiser. At least it for sure wasn't a rider from one of the northern Weyrs? Still, he wasn't coming out. He wasn't stupid.

"Hahano," Rosanna replied to Er'ani's question, the one about whether she knew where Cotton was going. She never knew where the green was going, especially when Cotton didn't want her to know. It was hilarious how polite she had first been when she hatched and then after one Turn or so with Rosanna she had turned into... a polite yet cheeky salamandyr. Those adjectives didn't even go together!
She was distracted by her obvious grammatical fail by the quickly approaching ruins of Selenitas, a frown finding itself onto her face at the sight of a once so bright symbol of hope to Pern, to herself, in ruins. It really brought home to her not only the power of Pern itself, but the fact that their lives could be ended in an instance and yet they all chose to argue. It was disgusting.
...Which made her a hypocrite.
Was she going to go make friends with a Wastelander because life was too short not to? No. That would be her sister, not her thanks. She swallowed a small yelp as they landed, jouncing forward a bit as her grip tightened around the rider(why she didn't know, he was covered in mud), and quickly let go as he turned around to address her. Find Cotton or go look for the stupid brush she went and hid. Hard choice.
Because yes, she was actually tempted to leave the 'mandyr out here after dark(though being suicidal because she died would suck), because really, if the green could survive in hiding for a couple sevendays and hide the brush, then refuse to tell Rosanna where she hid it, she would say that Cotton was impervious to death. Considering she's raged at her many times after all. Rosa gave herself a little shake as she realized Er'ani had just slide off and ohfaranth she has to get down now? Eh.
She felt her sight blurring a bit as a dizzy spell hit her and five different Er'ani's swam in front of her vision. O-o-oh dear. Well this was rather random. Apparently she was scared of heights, just rode a dragon through the sky and apparently plans to Impress one. Okay then.
But apparently Cotton knew all along.
Okay... just grab his hand, she thought to herself, reaching a shaking hand forward, trying to snatch at Er'ani's and.... missing. Eeeh. On her second try she managed to grab it, yet trying to slide off the albino blue seemed to be past her abilities right now, so yea. She kinda fell off him. Kinda being the keyword. It was a hilarious looking mad slide(no Er'ani didn't get a glimspe of her panties, she was still wearing her trousers under the dress) off the dragon until she ran into Er'ani, clutching once again to him for dear life. Was she hyperventilating? Maybe.
And then she got over herself.
Shoving Er'ani away in a fit of rage(maybe rage was too strong, possibly frustration), and stalked off to about five feet away from the albinorider, blushing slightly at how she had been acting, and the warm feeling she was getting in her chest at Lketh's croon. It was so adorable! ....Oh Faranth. She just used adorable to describe something. Eeeeeh.
"We might as well go find her," Rosanna snapped, shifting back to her normal persona, "She's the one that lost it anyways. Or hide it. Whatever. So we probably won't find it if we don't have her."
Now she was almost twitching. Pfft.
With a sigh, Rosanna crossed her arms and thought for a moment, trying to visualize which way the green 'mandyr had flew off to as she peered around Selenitas. Pausing, Rosanna caught sight of the boat, and a brief tendril of a whipser of mind speech(salamandyr?) caught her attention.
"Let's try under that boat," she stated, then her tone turned sarcastic and impatient as she started toward it, "At least it's a start in a million of likely places."
Cotton chirped at Cootie, fanning her spines in appreciation for the licking, and curled around the other green, giving her sister her own grooming. My, my. Rather dusty aren't we? What have you been up to?

Really Er’ani was paying too much attention to Rosanna to notice anything else. He watched the emotions play over his companions face as he offered her a hand down becoming privately amused that the rather independent girl seemed suddenly scared. Hadn’t she been fine just a moment before? Hmm. Gripping her trembling hand tightly as she all but fell on him the albinorider wrapped his arms snugly around her. The hug was meant to be comforting as much as enjoyable with her pressed so tightly against him. Hey sue him for liking the ladies. Rosanna was really pretty too. And she had an interesting attitude. She was the kind of girl that you wanted to pursue just for the challenge of it sometimes.
Before Er’ani could ask her if she was alright through she was violently shoving him and blinking in surprise he let her go. He continued to stare after her with a confused expression for a moment. Was that a blush on her face? Had he done something wrong? He didn’t remember grabbing her boob or anything. Besides that likely would have gotten him a slap across the face. The albinorider opened his mouth to say something but in the next minute he had gotten cut off by the young woman again. Rubbing the back of his neck Er’ani attempted an easy smile at her. “Okay. That works. As good a plan as any.” Finding the mandyr shouldn’t be too hard right? The teenager watched the candidate curiously as she tried to find her pet. Man was she moody. Hot. But moody.
Lketh’s goggles helped him quite a bit in the daylight. Though he much preferred not the wear them. They were irritating even if they did help him see more like a normal dragon. Head slung low as her wound his way through the tree line, his nostrils flared to pick up the scents around the area. The wild had slowly began to retake the old weyr over the months and there was almost no sign of humanity. At least not in scent. Winding about one of the jungle tree’s his tail tip flicked as his gaze settled on an overturned boat. Now most dragon’s wouldn’t find that interesting. But the albino didn’t think like a dragon. He thought more like a human. Completely logical. He could even read written language and decipher codes. So yes the fact that this boat had clearly not being taken over by the jungle was interesting. It had not fallen into disrepair or started to rot. Hmm.
Tilting his head Lketh debated moving to examine it. However it was in the bright sunlight and without the benefit of his usual sun balm to protect his skin he was rather loathe to leave his shade. Instead he prodded his with a mental tendril of question and a picture of the boat. Yeah it’s a boat? So what? There were lots of them back at the old weyr. To that Lketh snorted. Sometimes he forgot how dim his rider could be. Not that it mattered. It seemed that at least the woman was starting in that direction anyway. Pulling back into the tree line Lketh watched the humans approach.
Er’ani trotted after Rosanna grateful for the warm air on his bare torso. Much better then that chill of between. He was going to have to figure out how to protect himself on the return trip. Maybe he could find some abandoned clothing in one of the collapsed weyrs? It was worth a shot anyway. His nipples would probably thank him for it. As the girl’s words came to him the albinorider wrinkled his nose. “Under the boat? Is that where her signal is coming from?” If her tone was any indication he couldn’t possibly see why the creature would be afraid of her. He hadn’t even done anything to her but be nice and she already seemed irritated by the world. Really a lay might fix her attitude. Not that he was going to say anything like that to her. She might bite his head off if he did. Instead he just trailed in her wake, curiously glancing at the distant boat they were starting to approach.

Cotton brimmed with excitement, spines frilling out with contained energy as she almost seemed to vibrate on the boy's head. It was almost time to run... glide away from the searching hands of Hers, as Cotton felt Rosanna creep closer to the boat. Oh, look. She was conveniently dry now too thanks to Cootie and she wouldn't be bogged down by cold, cold wet stuff anymore.
"No," Rosanna replied, faint pink still resting on her cocoa colored cheeks, "She's learned to hide from me too well. But it's most obvious spot she would choose to hide, she isn't very creative." Which is true, Cotton tended to pick obvious hiding places and then run/glide/jump away from Rosa when the teen tried to catch her. Cotton however, resented the uncreative mark and always insisted it was because Hers was too silly to find her if she chose a more complicated hiding spot and it was much more fun to run/glide/jump away from Rosanna to annoy her. But that was besides the point.
Speaking of resenting a comment, Rosanna's thoughts were swirling around the very topic of how uncreative Cotton was, and of course the green mandyr frilled with sudden indignation and gave a squawk of protest.
Rosanna grinned.
Cheshire smile giving her an almost feral look, Rosa suddenly sprinted the last few feet to the boat, intent on catching the little green menace this time and crouched down onto her knees(skirt easily being spread so she only got her trousers dirty, a habit she had gotten into at the Hall), and reached forward to snag the 'mandyr. But once again, she wasn't fast enough, and the salamandyr sprung from Armind's head, snapped open her wings to glide a foot away from Rosanna before she began running across the ground. Once thing was for sure, Cotton was sure getting in enough practice for her mating Run.
"Shardit Cotton! Get back here!" Rosanna snarled, hurriedly getting to her feet, but something made her pause, half crouched right in front of the boat. Cotton had jumped from a scraggly perch of dark grass... hadn't she? Breath catching in her throat, Rosa quickly went back down on her knees and peered back inside the boat.
"...Armind?"
