Before Rajnith had time to get too irritable at being left alone, Frosstyth was back, feline in tow. She considered complaining that it was small - it was, but then everything was small when Rajnith wanted more - but he had been so quick she decided she could forgive him this time. For me indeed,[/i] she purred, accepting the carcass and tearing a big, delicious bite out of it... oh, but was that ichor on his face? She should probably do something about that, cue mental sigh, him being so brave and all... still, she swallowed the bite she had and took another before setting the carcass carefully aside and hefting herself to her feet to waddle close enough that she could reach his head. Reaching up to stroke one cheek, she brought his face down her her level, cooing, Oh no, did my big, brave Brown hurt himself? Well, I can't have you dripping ichor, that will never do. She proceeded to carefully clean the ichor off with paws and tongue, tenderly so as not to aggravate the wounds.
"Well usually sand do not need mining, generally there do be pits," Ten said, smile taking any of the sting out of the words. "Although I am not sure about this mountainous terrain. I did mean mine as in retrieve - Glasscraft slang, I suppose. Sure it has to do with putting down the Minecraft somehow, for how much the Glasscrafters relied on their work the did like to make fun of them." And with that, she dropped the subject - miscommunication was not uncommon for a girl that spoke like she was half shipmate half cotholder.
C'oar's idea about the forge in the caves was intriguing, however. "Aye," she said slowly, glancing up towards the ceiling, "And the cave does vent... it do be close enough that a Rider could easily come pick up any Smiths we had that did not ride, or they could take runners back and forth to Burimyu... assuming, of course, that we do get another Gold and found a real Weyr." How they were going to do that was anyone's guess, but Ten was nothing if not optimistic. "But in the mean time, it would no hurt to see if there is a room with enough ventilation! Although we would need Glows to see for sure, I think. We should bring Roselle, although I do no know if she does forge work at all. Anyone else that would know? Are there any Minecrafters among the Burimyans? The could find you ore, I am sure, it is a big cave system after all!"
The fact that she knew as little about ore as C'oar did about sand didn't dampen Tenlie's spirits at all. A forge would be wonderful to have, and if they presented the idea to the Council right, how could they say no? That big-eyed hopeful look crossed her face again, and she leaned in to C'oar's touch just a little, small as it was. "I trust you. We'll have a forge again."
As soon as Storm explained what had happened - and Frosstyth had burst from the canopy, heading back towards where they'd come from - Grip went still again, offering a little apologetic creel. He was sorry, he hadn't meant to be a problem, he just didn't want to lose His. He couldn't go Between like Storm could, not without Rajnith anyway. Regardless, that meat did look tasty! They should have some while Rajnith was busy!
