Raising his arms high above his head, J'ash fell back onto the sand, muscles quivering in a stretch. A sigh escaped him as he relaxed. The ground was a little wet having been rained on just a few hours ago, but J'ash didn't let that stop him from enjoying himself outside. He had a silver eye cracked just slightly so he could stare up at the blindingly overcast sky, fingers from both hands caressing Tux and Drama, who were curled up on his chest, sleeping. Vomit and Blurm were doing their usual supervising roles, perched on each of Craivaruth's headknobs.
J'ash could feel that Craivaruth was irritable today. The Blue-Green dragon was curled a few meters away from him, head resting in a pouting fashion on his forepaws. The Bluerider didn't want to aggrivate the dragon more, but he thought it was about time he knew what was annoying him so much. "What's the matter?" the blonde asked, turning his head to the side to look at Craivaruth's spine ridges. The vibrations of J'ash's voice caused Tux to wake up, pale blue eyes blinking sleepily up at his face. There was no response from the dual-coloured dragon, just annoyed vibes. "Come on, tell meeeee." Drama stretched out from his curled position on J'ash's stomach and buried his face into the cloth of J'ash's shirt.
The Blue unfurled from his fetal position and stormed over to the risen, rough surface of the river. Vomit and Blurm stayed perched on his headknobs until they realized that he was heading into the water. Swooping down from Craivaruth's head, Vomit chittered questions at J'ash while Blurm's eyes shifted into a dull hue of cautious yellow.
J'ash propped his torso up on his elbows, causing the knot of Browns resting on him to shift. He gently pushed Drama and Tux off of him, leaving them a little baffled as to where their pillow went. He stood up and strode after Craivaruth. "Seriously, what's up?" The Blue snorted, wading through shallow water. He flexed his talons, inspecting the riverbed with angry orange eyes. Here, it was just shallow enough to cause the sand underneath the river to become a gunky mush of mud. The disproportionate dragon flopped onto his side, causing water to splash everywhere (including on J'ash, who raised his hands to try and stop the drops from hitting him). He rolled and twisted, ignoring His.
J'ash took a few steps closer, reaching out with his hands to somehow stop the dragon. Just before he made contact with the dragon's hide, Craivaruth stopped. There. Am I Brown enough to fit in? But before J'ash had enough time to react with a sigh, Craivaruth's brown, mud-covered tail reached out and knocked J'ash forward, causing the male to trip straight into the watery mud.

J’on was finally coming to understand Flash. Somewhat anyway. Well at least he was beginning to understand how not to have certain tender parts of his body attacked by the nasty little creature who’d bonded to him (Flash had done it just to be awkward J’on was sure). Flash didn’t like much, but he did like swimming, and the threat of ’no swimming’ on any given day, and the application of swimming as a reward seemed to curb the worst of his behaviour, though on the occasions when he’d been firm over Flash’s bad behaviour were ones when J’on thought he’d have to get nipple piercing to fill in the ‘mandyr tooth holes, not to mention design some armoured underwear.
At any rate that was part of the reason J’on was now headed for the river, with one blue salamandyr, conspicuously on his best behaviour, on his shoulder. It was best not to let Flash wander off on his own lest he damage someone, and in any case Rinagth had already made daily visits to the river part of his routine by wanting a bath every day.
As he strolled along, refusing to be hurried by the impatient feelings just radiating off his small silver blue companion, J’on caught sight of a very familiar blue and green hide, Craivaruth was rather hard to miss, and so logically (or perhaps emotionally) turned in that direction on the assumption that J’ash would be with his dragon. That was rather based on the assumption that Craivaruth wanted a bath (no doubt Rina would be reporting for hers as soon as J’on got to the river), however it seemed that Craivaruth had other ideas. For reasons that J’on was totally unable to fathom the brightly coloured dragon decided to roll in the mud, covering his hide with brown dirt.
Rinagth winged over the river, she hated travelling with Flash, that little annoyance, even the feline was better company then the evil little salamandyr, Yu rarely tried to bite her. Somewhat to Rinagth’s surprise she spied Craivaruth rolling in the mud. How odd in very deed! She’d always thought the sole pupose of the river was to bathe, and that mud wreasling was an activity reserved for humans. However if Craivaruth wanted to buck the trend… The green landed neatly beside the mudpatch and gave the blue an odd look. What are you doing? I thought only humans could roll in the mud.

The familiar chiding voice of a certain Green caused Craivaruth to roll onto his side, blinking several membranes to clear mud from his orange-hued eyes. He took a moment to look at her blankly before remembering that the two of them were not good friends anymore. He wouldn't remember exactly what had caused this unless he went through J'ash's memories, but he was a creature of vengeance. She would not be forgiven so easily.
Snorting some of the viscous stuff out of his nose, a wing rose out of said goop and then slapped straight down, which made a strange muffled slurp. My apologies. I suppose I'm not dragon enough for you. Every word of that sentence was underlined with heavy sarcasm and resentment. Despite his outward nonchalance, the "Brown"'s vibe was obviously simmering with some kind of silent anger - or he was just being a big ol' grumpybutt. His tail skimmed the surface of the puddle, causing a rather large wave to be sent hurtling towards the newcomers. Oops. Didn't mean to get mud all over your single-coloured hide.
J'ash's sleeping firelizards had obviously woken up by now. Drama flew by J'on without so much as a fleeting glance, drawn like a magnet to Rinagth. The flirty Brown began flying leisurely circles around the Green, chirping romantically. What a beautiful lady! Let's mate! Blurm and Vomit circled high above the congregation, eyes instantly locking on Flash. Salamandyrs were not to be trusted, especially after Theirs' bad encounter with one at a Firelizard hatching. Tux followed Drama but stopped in front of J'on and landed on an unoccupied shoulder, not caring if there was a Salamandyr there. He chittered and licked the young adult's jawbone.
Placing both hands on the ground on either side of him, J'ash lifted himself and slid his knees forward to sit on them. He shook off his hands as best he could (wiping them on his muddied pants obviously wouldn't do anything to help his situation), and tried to clear the mud from his eyes and face. "Ugh, Craivaruth, you're such an asshole. I was just trying to help, and you ruined my clothes. You're going to be washing these..." He knew the threat was empty - dragons couldn't wash clothes, obviously - and then he looked up. Oh dear. This could not get any worse.
"Oh, ah..." J'ash looked sharply away, fingers automatically fumbling to try and fix his messy, clumped-together hair. He ended up pushing his hair over his shoulders to rest against his back - at least it wasn't too stuck to his face now. With a blush that was half-covered by layers of mud, J'ash looked at J'on again. Just act normal. J'ash stood up - almost slipping in the process - and attempted to brush off his pants. "Hey, hun. What are you doing here?"
J'ash's eyes widened at Craivaruth's splash. "You should-" hands went to cover his eyes as the mud made its way over to the dragon and possibly J'on, warning coming just a second too late, "...move."

Rinagth snorted in obvious distain for Craivaruth’s foul humour, it was quite clear from the mud covered dragon’s tone that he was bound and determined to keep his sulk (Rinagth had decided it was a sulk the moment Craivaruth addressed her) going as long as possible and to that end would take everything said as a personal affront. Obviously it was time to settle down and ignore him until such time as he’d finished sulking. With that thought the green flicked her wings dismissively, turned her back on Craivaruth without acknowledging his words, and began to stroll away.
Of course wherever J’ash appeared his collection of brown firelizards appeared too, so Jon was none too surprised to see all of them take wing, the oldest and youngest for a better view of the situation, or perhaps to avoid a mud bath, Drama straight for Rinagth and Tux to perch on his shoulder. J’on tensed himself for Flash to pitch a fit right there and then but the salamandyr decided to let the brown off with a mere hiss and a flare of his barbed frill spines, either Flash was learning or was just feeling a little less nasty than usual with the immediate promise of a swim in front of him. In any case while the blue was behaving J’on used on hand to pet Tux, there was a chance that Flash could learn to get on with the crowd of browns, a small chance.
J’on watched in bemusement as J’ash made a few rather futile attempts to extract himself from the mud and neaten his appearance. To his annoyance as J’ash began to speak Rinagth walked through his view, affording him only the sight of his dragon’s hide flashing yellow bursts of colour at him. J’on shifted slightly sideways and looked over the green’s tail as she halted for some reason. ‘Hello, it’s time for the daily trail by water of course.’ The greenrider replied, sure J’ash would know what he meant.
Rinagth’s contemptuous attention was caught for a moment by Drama and she paused in her leisurely saunter away from Craivaruth. Did the small cousin not know that he was far too small to chase Rinagth? Wasn’t it obvious? However while she was looking at the firelizard and forming a suitably scathing rejection a wash of soupy brown mud spattered over Rinagth’s flank and tail, causing the green to look at her own hindquarters with a most offended expression.
J’on just had time to register a splattering sound before he was hit in the face by the mud that had sailed over his dragon; enough to cover his face, his salamandyr, and quite possibly the firelizard perched on him if Tux didn’t move quick enough.
While his slave was clawing dirt out of his eyes Flash leapt silently from J’on’s shoulder, flared his wings at the last moment to slow his fal and hit the ground running. That idiot was going to pay for this! How dare it? That was Flash’s personal slave it had blinded with goop, and as if that wasn’t bad enough Flash was dirty! Hateyou! HATE! Asshat crotchsniffer wheruglymater. Foul deluded grossling. Flash snarled at the dragon as he sped across the intervening space flaring his barbed spines at the mud covered beast.
Much to his displeasure the mud on his hide prevented the blue salamandyr from making his namesake flash of silver as he began to climb laboriously up the gigantic fool’s tail, trying hard to express his ire by biting. To Flash’s utter disgust he could hardly lay tooth against hide without getting mouthful of dirt and that in turn only increased his anger and his determination to bite the dragon somehow.
Rinagth spent several seconds gazing at her befouled hide in total disbelief, long enough for Flash to start taking action. How. Rude. Well if Craivaruth was going to be a brat she’d get him! With that thought the green broke into an implacable charge across the short space between her and Craivaruth, since she was already marred with dirt and her rider was on hand to bath her Rinagth had no qualm about flinging herself into Craivaruth with an almighty squelching sound. You like mud so much, I’ll make you eat it![/color] the green threatened shoving down on the mud covered blue’s head while her rear legs scrabbled for purchase in the mudhole.
While his mindmates were charging off bent on avenging themselves against Craivaruth J’on scraped mud from his face and his hair and flicked it back in the direction it had come from, only to be hit by another wave of flying gobbets that resulted from Rinagth’s attack. ‘Urgh, I thought I was going to get cleaner here, not dirtier.’ The greenrider muttered plaintively as he made a second attempt at getting rid of the brown goo coating him.

Tux's bright blue eyes blinked owlishly at Flash as he hissed and flared his frill at him. The Brown chattered softly and took a few steps around J'on's neck to get closer to the Blue, confused as to why Flash was acting this way. The brilliant idea of giving Flash a gift to fix the situation struck the firelizard; however, he had no time to execute it as a wall of mud came flying. Tux squawked and darted into the air as the first few drops hit his back, and went to safety where Vomit and Blurm were, a branch in a nearby tree. Drama, meanwhile, had been trying to woo Rinagth, but when Craivaruth flung the mud at them, Drama was out of there. He could always try to mate with her another day, when there was less prissiness in the air.
Ahh the taste of revenge was so sweet. Craivaruth watched Rinagth vindictively - the Green did not look amused. I did not mean to hit you, J'on, he projected, feeling just a little sympathetic for his innocent friend. The mud-covered Blue watched the blue Salamandyr launch himself off of J'on's shoulder and then scurry over to his tail, which he left floating to allow the angry little munchkin to clamber onto. Craivaruth let out an amused snort at Flash's angry screaming - like he hadn't heard any of that before from more intelligent beings. Orange eyes simply watched Flash attempt to bite through his hide.
When Rinagth came charging, however, Craivaruth decided it would be best for the little Salamandyr to not be there. Catch, he called, whipping his tail sharply to catapult Flash in J'on's general direction. It would be safer for Flash to not be sandwiched between two mud-slicked fully-grown dragons. His head was shoved under the surface as Rinagth collided with him full-force, actually moving his entire body a little ways in the mud. The Green was practically standing on his head, keeping it under.
The good thing about having a short, thick neck was that more condensed muscles could fit into it. Craivaruth pushed with the entire strength of his neck and began kicking at Rinagth's scrambling legs, taking advantage of her lack of grip. Forcing his head above the surface and twisting to shake the Green off, he snorted mud out of his nostrils right in her face. What's the point of eating if I can't share?
The Blue squirmed out of her grip and flopped back onto her belly-first, long, thin wings flared with jousting spirit. He attempted to shove her deeper into the mud - she was not getting away from this with a spot of Green showing as far as he was concerned.
J'ash carefully stepped out of the mud puddle and made his way up to J'on. "Faranth, I'm sorry. Craivaruth is PMSing today." He raised a hand to his lover's face to attempt to wipe off some of the mud, but this just made it worse. A smile broke onto his face, followed by a short, amused laugh. "Come on," he reached down to grab one of J'on's hands and began to tug him away from the wrestling dragons. "We need to go get clean. Although you're hardly ever clean around me." The little quip was followed by a devious smirk over his shoulder at the Greenrider.
J'ash led the Greenrider a small ways away from the drama before he turned around and threw all his body weight at J'on in a glomp, yelling "bath time!". Although there wasn't actually any clean water there - just more mud.

Apparently all of J’ash’s firelizards had decided that discretion was the better part of valour and had fled for the tree tops with the first shower of mud, or so J’on gathered once he’d cleared the mud from his eyes. ‘That’s a great comfort to me Craivaruth. Thanks.’ The greenrider’s tone was so dry it probably could have turned the ocean into a desert. The blue’s intentions didn’t really alter the fact that J’on was now covered with mud. At least the next thing flung at him by Craivaruth resolved itself into Flash by flaring its sullied wings and screaming obsenities at him.
Flash was not a happy salamandyr, and he made this known by screaming as many foul insults as he could string together, directed at Craivaruth, J’on, Rinagth, and anyone else who might have insulted him at some point. When his momentum carried him into J’on the enraged blue went into a fury, biting at random without even bothering to run inside J’on’s clothes until he got enough exclaimations of pain to satisfy him.
Rinagth’s eye colour went from triupmhant shades of bright blue and yellow to a worried yellow green as Craivaruth slowly lifted his head, using all the strength of his short, thick neck against her, which was easy enough when the green’s feet were still scrambling for grip in the mud hole. Rinagth brought her tail around to slap against Craivaruth’s flank as she was splattered with some of the mud she’d forced Craivaruth into. Why how generous of you Craivaruth, however I believe I already have quite enough mud.
Rinagth, however, had spoken too soon as her feet were knocked out from under her and she went sprawling gracelessly into the mud. As Craivaruth slammed into her the green squirmed around until she was on her side and able to apply the full force of her back legs in a powerful kick to the blue’s side that sent her slinding backward several inches as she shoved against the larger dragon.
J’on yelped as needle sharp salamandyr teeth met through his shirt and his flesh to produce a new set of puncture wounds and grabbed for his vengful pet, gaining a bitten thumb in the process, and flung the nasty little creaure off towards the river with a cry of ‘Go swim Flash.’ Which would at least keep the blue out of the way for a while.
Slightly distracted by his experiences, and still preoccupied with trying to get the mud of his face, J’on was perfectly content to be led away from the wrestling match between the two dragons. However it seemed that all his efforts to get the mud off of his person were quite futile as he was quite literally thrown into the mud by his mate. After floundering and spitting mud for a few seconds the greenrider rose to his knees in the goop looking like a mud monster and bodily hauled J’ash into the mud by one ankle. ‘You need a bath too.’

Craivaruth was only allowed a brief moment of triumph before Rinagth powerfully kicked his side, sending the both of them sliding in opposite directions. Of course the full power of both a Green's legs was bound to hurt like a mother - a cloud of pained red fogged over the Blue's orange eyes as the wind was knocked out of him. The larger dragon quickly recovered, however, managing to put the throbbing in his side to the back of his mind. The last thing he wanted was for Rinagth to have the glory of hurting him. He was above hurting her though. As long as he kept his anger from exploding.
The Blue launched into a gallop towards the Green, not moving much at first as his claws scraped for purchase in the layer of mud. Craivaruth jumped with front talons and wings spread wide, planning to pin the Green again. But he knew the Green was fast, and he was prepared to hit mud and bound right back up again at her in case she dodged.
Distracted by wondering how on earth J'on got stuck with such a nasty Salamandyr - this is why I like Firelizards, he thought - J'ash was hauled into the mud by his ankle, a little bit off-guard. Not that he hadn't expected it, and he was already extremely muddy so he didn't much care. The original plan had been to play with J'on in the mud anyway, so yay for that.
J'ash landed on his skinny little tush, causing the mud to ripple out slowly and thickly around him. It hadn't hurt at all, with the mud being so soft. With a playful laugh, J'ash smiled at the handsome man that was his mate and pretty much tackled him, forcing the Greenrider to flop onto his back in the mud. The Bluerider went to pin his wrists, then brought his face within very close proximity of the other's. Silver eyes stared into the trusting warmth he knew to be J'on's. "You ain't movin' unless you move me first.~"
Tux tilted his head and flapped his wings as he watched the scene unfold. Finally having made up his mind, the Brown firelizard dove off of the branch where J'ash's Brown Brigade was hanging out and glided out over the water with a leaf in his clutches. There, there was the silvery Blue mandyr that he was looking for! Gone for a swim, whether he liked it or not. Tux chirped to make his presence known and then slowly lowered himself into the surface of the water, extending the leaf to Flash. See, wasn't it pretty? It was gold where all the others were green, and it was all for Flash! Now couldn't they be friends?
