It was that time again. Ten could tell because Rajnith was being absolutely awful, and all of her distaste was directed at a certain gold behind. Nitrath would be rising soon, and if Ten didn't want a fight on her hands, it was time to get the Green out. Actually, she'd waited a bit too long; Nitrath was likely to go up today, but she'd had drills yesterday, and she had them this morning, too. So close to a Goldflight they were a bit of a mess, everybody flirting left and right, but she'd wanted to make them if she could. Being on S'rei's wing meant you didn't miss drills unless absolutely necessary. She'd ended up leaving halfway through, though, once Rajnith became too difficult to work with.
She was packing an overnight bag - just in case - when she heard a knock on her door. Ugly Duckling promptly went insane, trumpeting his alarm to the rafters, so Ten went to calm him down, asking, "Bro? Who is it?" The blue firelizard sent back an image of... Mi'rah? What was he doing here? Shouldn't he be off courting that Goldrider that looked like a man? As silly as it sounded, Ten had never actually thought of Mi'rah (or rather Kierjaarth) chasing Golds, but now that she had a bit of jealousy flared in her chest. What was he doing here, indeed? It was hardly proper.
She took a moment to check her hair and wardrobe and to compose herself, working on some sort of chastisement as she went. As usual, though, all of that preparation vanished when she actually saw Mi'rah, and got that fluttery little feeling in her stomach, the one that made her unable to stop smiling. "Oh, Mi'rah!" she said, feigning surprise. "What on Pern are you doing here? Is Nitrath no rising?"
I think you mean, 'Hasn't the giant ugly beast gotten her shiny behind in the air yet', SlaveMine,[/i] Rajnith grumbled, not bothering to keep her thoughts private. Actually, maybe Mi'rah would sympathize with her! This could work well. Good thing he could hear exactly what she was saying. Because she practically has. She woke up a minute ago, she should be slaughtering an entire generation of herdbeasts momentarily. Ugh, I could just kill her. All those males are mine, how are they paying attention to her? Even Kierjaarth! Traitor.[/i]
