There was no outward reaction to X'rx's implication that she was part of Legatus. Iskierka knew she was. The curious part was that it felt...right, kind of. That she was identified with a particular group. If being in that group classified her as crazy so be it. She still didn't care much about others' opinions of her. "That's still most of the wing," she pointed out, "though I admit that voluntary company with Z'ves is usually a fairly good sign that someone is a little cracked." Oh yes, she knew the man. Not very well, mind you, but enough that she didn't trust any false image he projected.
Iskierka smirked at X'rx's surprise. "More like he got us to poison ourselves. Can't say that it was fun in the beginning. I think I was mistaken as drunk a couple of times. I'm actually more surprised that more people didn't notice, considering I was teaching your class at the time," she said in response. She couldn't say about the idea of assassins for sure but..."Some of his paranoia was valid. Legatus members were some of the first targeted during the invasion."
She shook her head at the rumours that had apparently circulated. How amusingly false they were from the point of view of someone in the wing. "The best lies are based on truth," Iskierka said, voice just barely dipping into a teasing tone. She privately considered whether or not Ka'rys would have spread rumours like that and decided that he probably did. The more mystery surrounding his precious wing, the better. Kind of an awkward image of them walking on water though.
And there it was. Iskierka mentally sighed because she'd seen it coming and knew eventually she'd have to accept or reject his advances. She'd been bonded too long to a dragon and grown up in such a way that sex was no longer a big deal. Nor did she particularly care about age difference. No, it was any possible emotional commitment on the other party's part that had always concerned her. With X'rx there was a pretty limitted risk though..."Yeah, sure. I'll be the one to judge about edible-ness though."
There, that ought to satisfy his need for an answer. Of course, that meant there was little else left in the conversation, as far as the bluerider was concerned. She cleared her throat gently before saying, "Ioth is getting restless." It was a fairly obvious hint. Well, more like a proper goodbye than most people got from her. She stopped in her tracks, as it only led farther away from the dragon and the weyr.
