Elysia swayed down the hallway in that easy sultry manner that she had perfected over the turns. In one hand was half a bottle of wine she had ‘borrowed’ from the kitchens. In the other a pair of glasses. Her destination? The weyr of a bronzer. Strange? Perhaps. But well she was a woman on a mission. One that she intended to complete. She had dressed for the occasion too in leather pants that were just tight enough to accentuate without looking too slutty and a shirt that was just low enough to draw attention to some of her best ‘assets’. Really it wasn’t all that different from how the greenrider dressed everyday. But for the fact that she had intentionally made herself look quite stunning, pretty much without trying. Eye candy for the weyr perhaps? A public service? Maybe. Or just perhaps Elysia had something a little more wicked in mind. It was anyone’s guess. Though the eyes that fell on her when she passed in the halls had her smiling before she even reached his door.
It was almost evening, so the greenrider was almost positive that K’ian would be home. Where else would he be. Quite a shame that both times Elysia had tried to talk to him a bit she had been interrupted. Not so this time. She came with plans and wine. Who could resist wine? It was a well known fact that the young bronzer felt a bit like an outcast. Like he had a target on his back that he couldn’t quite shake. All because K’ian was a Wastelander. Though in reality he was a Benden rider like herself. Only four turns younger in fact, even if his dragon was a bit younger then her Onyth. Curiosities. That was why she was here tonight. Besides the pooooooor bronzer had no one to talk to. No friends that she knew of. No company. So why would he turn down the possibility of talking to a quite attractive woman with a bottle of wine? Answer? He wouldn’t.
Rapping on his door with the back of her hand Elysia waited for K’ian to answer it shifting her weight to subtly stick her hip out. When the bronzer finally answered she smiled up at him and practically purred. “Hello there. We still haven’t got to properly meet. You have a minute?” Without really waiting for him to get over his surprise and give her and answer she slipped past him and into his weyr glancing about it briefly before turning and holding up the glasses and the wine bottle. “I even brought you a welcome to the weyr gift.”

I don't like this Rom! K'ian's thoughts were raised in anger. The bronze dragon casually lifted his head off of his couch, gazing at his rider curiously, the tip of his tail twitching against the stone of his couch. It isn't like it's much better than at Old Selenitas. H'nes was weyrleader then. The man sighed heavily, resting his head against the wall. He was tipping his chair so far back that the legs of the chair creaked. While Rom was resting on one of the two couches in the weyr, Mouse had taken it upon herself to claim the other one, which wasn't as big, but it absolutely dwarfed the tiny salamandyr. It was her's though. Only the best for this little lady, unless the absolute best was currently being claimed by a dragon a million times bigger than her. Sometimes one just had to settle for second best. It was still a little extravagant for such a small 'mandyr, but she didn't care. It wasn't like K'ian had another dragon. I know, but I really feel like I should be doing something. The Benden riders are all but dissolved now. Selenitas is in charge of its own weyr once again, but I'm still here, and I feel responsible for the weyr. Romeoth rumbled lightly. His voice was surprisingly calm. It's not your weyr. Another sigh and he tipped the chair farther back. I know, but...
Suddenly, a knock at his door surprised him. He jumped, the chair clattering to the ground. Elysia probably saved K'ian from falling to the ground when his chair. His eyes swung to the door, brows knitted in slight irritation. Though, he was curious. Who would be knocking on his door? Romeoth chuckled in his mind but said nothing as the tall man rose and strode over to the door, only to reveal...Elysia standing there? She had a seductive grin on her face and a bottle of wine in her hand. He stepped aside as she slipped past him. Grinning, he closed the door and walked over to her. " Pity. I was really looking forward to it." He guided her to the counter, grinning at her offering. " You're an angel, Elysia." How did she know what he needed at that moment.
Rom's head lifted curiously, gazing at the greenrider with unbridled interest. Having women callers now? His voice was oddly calm. K'ian ignored him, but he rumbled a greeting in his throat to her. Mouse perked up immediately to the new visitor. She gazed at Elysia curiously for a moment, frilling in confusion. Why was she doing here? Did her K'ianlove like her? Should she like her? Indecision filled the tiny salamandyr for a moment before she glided over to the woman, skittering K'ian's clothing, resting finally on the counter. Eyes watched Elysia cautiously. Hello. She had to watch this one she did.

Dark eyes regarded K’ian with a subtle soft seduction as he spoke. “Yes such a pity. It was almost as if fate was conspiring against us. A fact that I found most intriguing.” Elysia followed the young bronzer without a word, allowing him to lead her to the counter in his weyr. “I find it fun to tempt fate at times. It seems this time we’ll actually get our meeting.” A smile was offered the man in response to his grin and she laughed at his comment the sound light and playful. “Angel? Perhaps at times. I don‘t often get called that.” Eyes played over his form briefly through she made no attempt to hide the fact that she was examining him. Resting them back on his face she offered the man a playful smile. “I’ll take it though.” Half turning, though still keeping an eye on her companion, she set the glasses down and poured them each a generous amount.
Turning back towards K’ian Elysia leaned back against the counter and offered him his glass. “I hope you like Blossom Hold’s wine? I terribly miss the Benden vintages. Nothing compares. But I find that Blossom does a decent wine at any rate.” It was then that she was greeted by not only a rumble from the bronze but also the little mandyr that had attacked K’ian’s face the day the bronze had invaded her shirt. A smile was offered the large bronze first. “Good evening Romeoth. Looking handsome as ever.” It never hurt to lightly stroke a bronze’s ego. She noticed they tended to like you more for it. And the greenrider made sure to greet him first over the mandyr. Would do not do to unintentionally offend him, and some bronzes were very easy to offend. Only once she had greeted Romeoth did she turn to look at the small worm that had addressed her with a small hello.
Reaching one finger out to the green she let it hover before the little mandyr, not offering to touch unless the creature permitted it. “Hello there. Mouse? I think I remember your bonded naming you. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong?” As she waited for the little creature to react Elysia half turned her head so she could easily see both K’ian and the green mandyr easily. “Your mindmates are very polite. Lucky man. I’ve met some that are downright unpleasant.” Even as she spoke she grabbed her glass, with the hand not currently being examined by Mouse, and raised it. “To good company. Lets hope that this time we don’t get interrupted.” Finishing her small toast the greenrider sipped at her glass her eyes reflecting slight amusement.

K'ian grinned at the greenrider's words, heaving a great sigh and looking outside for a moment. " Unless another crisis happens that requires our attention." He glanced to her again, winking at the woman. " Knowing our luck, something will happen. So let's make the most of the time we have." He grinned at Elysia, leaning towards her on the counter for a moment. " You don't give yourself enough credit, my dear." He said, flashing a woman a grin, taking the glass she offered him. He took a giant swig of it before she even commented on its origin. " One of the only things I miss about Bendon..." He mused, eyes on the liquid, before taking another drink. " Blossom knows how to do it though."
Rom rumbled at the woman again, appreciating her greeting, and her comment. He was probably one of the most easy going bronzes and was extremely difficult to offend. Something silly like greeting the little worm first wouldn't have done it for him. He knew where he stood in regards to the salamandyr. He let her have the extra couch because he didn't need two, and she kept her distance from him for the most part. Head dropped, tailtip flicking as he watched K'ian interact with the woman. Mouse, on the other hand, seemed extremely interested in Elysia. Yes yes Mouse. After a moment, she regarded the woman's hand before crooning lowly and frilling slightly. May pet. She said at last. She hadn't decided to trust the woman in the slightest, but she was reserving judgement for now, readying herself in case she needed to go to war.
K'ian chuckled at the display. " They are polite when they want to be. Especially this little green devil. She still isn't sure of you, by the way." He laughed, muffling the sound as more wine came in contact with the back of his throat. After, half drank glass of wine lifted as the woman toasted them, and the man leaned much closer to her. " To very good company." The man mused with a wry grin and his free hand would dart out if she allowed him and fingertips would brush over the woman's jawbone for a moment before returning to its place just as quickly. " ...for however long it might last."

Dark eyes stayed fixed on K’ian as the bronzer spoke their almost inky depths remaining unreadable. If the young man wanted answers he’d have to get them from her body language. And Elysia was a pro at communicating only what she wanted to communicate. Life had shaped her in that fashion. You never gave anything away at Benden if you wanted to stay safe. The greenrider had perhaps the best poker face ever. You saw only what she wanted you to see and that’s it. A light chuckle left her lips as K’ian made a mention of making the most of the time they had. “Oh I had planned to.” Elysia reassured him. When the bronzer leaned forward towards her the greenrider stood her ground, neither moving back nor moving forward into him. He didn’t seem to need an invitation or excuse to get closer and that had warning bells going off in her head. Still Elysia was here for a reason. “Not enough credit hm? I suppose you can call me an angel if you really want to.” She purred in a light tone. The woman hadn’t gotten what she wanted yet. There was no leaving until she had.
“The only thing you miss hm?” Elysia questioned almost curiously taking another sip of her own wine and raising an eyebrow. “I miss the weather. Though I will admit I’m much happier here in the mountains. Now we do get the occasional snowfall in the winter.” Not the massive amount that Benden got but enough to soothe her homesickness for the fluffy white stuff and make cuddling in the cold nights and mornings even more worthwhile. She had a fireplace again. A hearth to curl up in front of in the winter. Yes. She was very much looking forward to the cold months again. A smile flitted across her face as K’ian commented on the wine. “Yes Blossom does it well enough but it’s nothing like the northern vintages. I suspect it has something to do with the warmer weather. The southern stuff is mostly too floral for my tastes. A bit two sweet in other cases. But it’ll do.” Especially since it was near impossible to get the northern stuff. Besides that even when you could find it imported you paid a pretty mark down south.
A rumble from the bronze curled on the couch stole Elysia’s attention for a moment and she slightly turned her head so that she could see Romeoth and keep K’ian in sight at the same time. A light smile was given to the dragon as he watched her. Not as big as Salenth but K’ian’s bronze was a nice looking creature all in all, and seemingly friendly. Though that was harder to tell on first meeting. Speech in her mind had her eyes flicking from the bronze and to Mouse. Mandyrs as a rule the greenrider didn’t like, but this one wasn’t insulting, screaming obesities at her, or trying to bite. She could deal with that. Gently she trailed a finger down the little green’s spine and then back up pausing to rub at the tiny creatures ridges. All draconic creatures seemed to love that particular spot. If sucking up to the mandyr put everyone more at ease Elysia had no qualms with it. Trying to coerce Mouse to like her was better then fighting with the mandyr after all.
Intent on the mandyr for a few moments the greenrider concentrated on pleasing the little creature her eyes flitting to K’ian again when he spoke. “Ah well. Mandyrs as a rule seem to have a few issues in the bonded department. Most of the ones I’ve met are highly possessive.” To Mouse she stated simply. “No worries love. I’m not looking to take your bonded from you.” With a final caress Elysia took her hand from the creature and her attention went solely back to K’ian. At this point she realized that the bronzer was leaning in and he was far, far, too close. Whatever softly murmured words he had first uttered were lost as she froze for a moment, dark eyes narrowing just a touch. It took every ounce of resolve in her not to strike out at his hand when his fingers brushed over her jaw. As it was the greenrider tilted her head enough at that moment so that they barely brushed her skin. But even that small touch had an icy thread running down her spine and her eyes briefly reflected in something akin to irritation, as well as something else nearly unreadable. It was to the bronzerider’s benefit that he dropped his hand so quickly.
Feeling much like a cornered animal Elysia pivoted away from the counter and moved towards K’ian’s couch forcing her voice even as she replied. “Yes for as long as it may last.” Space. If she stayed that close she’d blow this venture and that would not do. Glancing back at the bronzer she offered him a small smile. “Let’s move this somewhere more comfortable then your counter top?”

It would be a lie to say that K’ian was not experienced with women. He had had enough flings in his life to know how the game was done. Usually, unless Rom was chasing, he wasn’t the one chasing. He wasn’t as arrogant as your usual bronzerider, but woman seemed to gravitate to him. S’rei’s words made so much sense at times. Since he wasn’t a novice, he was sure that he knew somewhat how to read females. Elysia, though broke all the rules. She wasn’t an open book. She was a closed book, tied very tightly and padlocked together. Needless to say it was frustrating for the man, who usually had females opening up all over him (in more than one way), but K’ian was nothing if not patient. It was waiting that sometimes made things better, and whatever was to happen with Elysia, he wanted it to be good, even if they just sat around talking. Though, somehow he got the idea that Elysia wasn’t the talkative type. That was just fine with the bronzerider.“ Good.” He said with some tone of finality at her angel comment. “ Since when has such a lovely lady shrugged off any compliments?”
The question she asked caused him to think a little more than he would have liked. “ The women.” He said finally. “ There are certainly no southern woman like a northern one.” I mean, if you get past all the submissive little withering flowers, the north actually produced hardned gems like Elsyia here. Those were the kind of women K’ian was referring to, and somehow, he didn’t think she’d have any trouble getting to that in his words. The weather was fine here, as far as K’ian was concerned. He wasn’t a fan of cold weather, but if it did give him an excuse to get close to such a gorgeous woman, then it was all good by him. He smiled at her as she spoke about the alcohol and lifted his own glass, taking a sip. “ Still, it does the job, correct?”
His eyes hadn’t left her’s. He was busy trying to read her, but she just wasn’t that type of girl. Finally, he decided that if he were to spend any time at all around her, he had better get used to her not opening up. He offhandedly wondered if she opened up to anyone, anytime? He wondered if she ever even opened up to S’rei and was unprepared for the sharp pang of jealousy that shot through him. Damn these northern women!
Mouse, on the other hand, was having a nice time. K’ian seemed okay with this one and she hadn’t tried anything funny…plus, the woman was giving her lots of LOVE. That in and of itself was reason enough for Mouse to like the woman, even if it was just a little bit. Anyone doting on her like this had definitely earned the little queen wannabe’s respect. Her back arched as Elysia stroked her spine and she trilled pleasantly, liking the touch on her back. Nice. She said, in between croons.
When the woman darted away from him, K’ian left his hand drop to the counter. Mouse looked sadly at where Elysia used to be and shrugged in her nominal mandyr way and went to go sleep on her couch again. Rom only eyed the salamandyr before shifting on his own couch. K’ian turned around to face where Elysia had gone. Why had she left? He had noticed the shift in her demeanor. The unmistakable tenseness on the air, the flash of emotion in her eyes. Then it was gone, as was Elysia. Ah well, he decided not to dwell on it too much. After all, what use would that be. After a moment, the tall man grinned walking over to sit near the woman, but giving her plenty of space. “ So…” He said at last. “ What do I owe the pleasure of this visit? Not that I’m complaining.”

K’ian it seemed to understand at least part of Elysia’s personality. She was very closed, in numerous ways. Even in coming to his weyr with wine and a smile she hadn’t divulged much of anything. That trend seemed to be continuing even now. She listened to K’ian certainly. Didn’t miss a word. But only offered him a teasing smile when he mentioned shrugging off compliments. Oh she wasn’t shrugging them off. Just…making him work for a reaction. As the little mandyr she had been stroking started to croon and arch herself against the greenrider’s hand she half smiled. Pleased the woman was with the creatures reaction if only because making a mandyr a friend was much better then making them into enemies. They could be right nasty vindictive little snots, so having them on your good side, even if it meant sucking up to a creature with a brain the size of a button, was so much better then having to deal with revenge attempts. However ill conceived they sometimes were. Mouse seemed to be alright, for a mandyr.
Elysia had caught all of what K’ian had said. About missing northern women in comparison to the twittering little southerners here especially. He might be one of the exceptions to that really. Most of the men here seemed to prefer the more sweet and naïve women. The ones who didn’t have issues and turns of baggage to contend with. Weak maybe in ways the southern belles were, but at the same time they were not damaged. More pure. The greenrider was under no illusions that she was actually perfect, contrary to what she chose to show people. The benden woman knew she was fucked up. Elysia just refused to let that fact keep her from continuing on with her life. There were, after all, a few men like K’ian who saw the benefit of stronger woman it seemed. A point in his favor certainly, though he still had a long way to go to really get on her good side or anywhere past the acquaintance stage. As S’rei once put it bronzers started buried six foot deep into hell with her and the average male was only on slightly better standing. So yes. If K’ian wanted to eventually get even a glimmer of who she really was he’d have to work for it. Most were not up to the challenge. It worked well enough for Elysia. It weeded out those who weren’t worth her time either.
Settling on the bronzer’s couch she regarded him with dark eyes from over the rim of her wine glass as she took another sip. A small and guarded smile was offered as K’ian sat on the couch near to her. He had given her her space. Smart boy. He learned. The greenrider took another sip of her wine and then rested the glass against her knee for a moment. “Oh you just seemed so very lonely lately. I know what it’s like to come to a weyr where everyone hates you from the outset.” J’lorin had sent her and her contemporaries to Selenitas to teach them when Selenitas and Benden had struck up an alliance. The people didn’t exactly welcome Elysia with open arms either. Not that she could really blame them after the Siege. “You can only get so many death stares before you wonder if anyone will ever accept you at all.” She continued and swirled the wine in the glass for a moment before speaking again. Testing the waters so to speak. “So K’ian call me curious…but why exactly did you leave Benden for Wasteland?” Personally Elysia hadn’t found J’lorin as off putting as C’leon. But then….everyone had their own tastes.
