“Yeeeeeehaaaa!” Er’ani screamed from his place astride Lketh as the albino shot though the canyon. This pale body twisted in a breakneck turn before he shot under the rope bridge connecting the two weyrs, causing the entire thing to sway and the people upon it to scream obscenities at the albino pair. Spoilsports. Have I even told you how uncivilized you sound when you scream like that? The blindingly white dragon asked his bonded as he dipped to wing low over the river. Yeah and I do it anyway. You should try it Buddy. Come on! It’s exciting. The albino brushed question against his bonded’s mind. It’s flying. What is there to be excited about? The speed? The near misses? Near misses? That is perfect control not near misses. You underestimate my abilities. He replied in a near emotionless tone.
The teenager upon the albino’s back snorted. Yeah okay. Perfectionist. Lketh simply crooned to that statement and whipped back around to climb back into the air. Now what? Hmm. Not sure. As his dragon hovered Er’ani scanned the skies. Not very many pairs flew at sunset. It wasn’t smart for most dragons. But Lketh saw better in fainter light and so sunset, and sunrise were the times when he was the most comfortable. Hmm. There! Is that him? The teenager asked his dragon. Lketh craned his neck and watched the approaching pair. That would be clutchbrother Tenloceth and his yes. I’m surprised you remember…then again we did spend near a year with them until M’ta failed them. Good he decided to meet us then.
Instead of answering mentally Lketh bugled a hello to his brown brother and winged quickly in their direction, looping about them mid sky before brushing gently across the brown’s mind. How are you and yours fairing Tenloceth. We are glad you accepting our invitation. Er’ani grinned across the gap between his former classmate and himself and offered the other rider a wave. Shouting over the gap seemed rather pointless. Maybe after a quick friendly flight they could talk properly on the ground. He had some ideas that might help his former classmate. Or at least maybe convince their grumpy Weyrlingmaster to graduate him on time.
