Hurry, hurry! Feyrianth called back to her bonded as she cavorted in front of her, straps dangling from her mouth. Erilena laughed as she trotted to keep up with the excited green. “I’m sure he’ll be there darling. Watch your step or you’ll run into someone.” Hazel eyes regarded her dragon with no small amount of amusement. Since that last dark night the greenrider was making a conscious effort to just let things go. Live in the moment. It was surprisingly easier then she thought it was going to be. Oh the woman still occasionally had her moments. Moments when the memories cropped up and she was alone at night. Sometimes she still cried. But for the most part Erilena was doing okay. Some things remained a struggle but she was smiling more often. Found herself genuinely laughing. Still a bit lonely, but that was not something that would fix quickly. But at least the black no longer threatened to swallow her up. The greenpair where making their own light.
Sharing it too when they could. Thus the visit to a candidate they had promised something to. Or rather Feyrianth had promised something to. Erilena came because although she wasn’t entirely sure about Casiloy he was still friendly and she didn’t much think letting her dragon fly alone with someone was smart. Not with her green’s exuberance. Fey tended to get overly excited sometimes. At any rate the candidate seemed to genuinely love her green and Feyrianth liked him in return. What was the harm in letting them interact with one another? None really even if sometimes the greenrider felt like an odd third wheel.
Finally Feyrianth gave an excited trill as she caught sight of Casiloy just outside the barracks. Cassy! Cassy! Erilenamine says we can go falling today! You still want to right? She asked him with cheer, her eyes whirling in bright blues as she shook the straps dangling from her mouth. I even brought straps this time see? Erilena just brightly smiled at the boy as she finally got within speaking distance. “Hi Casiloy. I know it’s been awhile but I assume you’d still like to fly with us?” Her tone held only the barest questioning tone. Mostly she was just amused at how excited Feyrianth was. It was a nice change from melancholy.

Casiloy had admittidly been doing nothing of importance, having spent the morning lounging in the shade watching in amusment his his salamandyr, who had hidden in a dark corner, startle passerbyers as they walked by by immitating the sounds of a glass shattering against a hard floor. Over the weeks Casiloy had learned that Casiloy enjoyed playing tricks on people, but for no other reason than to learn the sounds his unsuspecting victems made when startled. The brown would occasionally come and shimmy into Casiloy's clothes, searching for a snack. Casiloy had long since learned to try and stop his brown's attempts to climb into his shirts, lest he be berrated by a torrent of "StupidDumbDumbBiteStupidFOOD's"
The candidate imediatly recognized Feyrianth as the green apeared out of the sky, and he let out a joyous exclamation, scrambling to his feet. He felt his mandyr watch the dragon closly, especially watching the sun gleam off her metaliccy hide. "Shoo," Casiloy commanded, swatting in the general direction of the brown, and feeling satisfied when Casiloy scampered away.
"Feyrianth, Erilana! I haven't see you for ages!" the candidate clambered in excitement. "I've missed you!" The last comment was mainly directed at the green dragon, but Casiloy was so excited to see both of them so he could be generous. Casiloy never questioned that Feyrianth would take him falling, but he had never really had a time frame in mind.
"I would love to fly with you," the boy said, "assuming the offer still stands," he said cheekily to Erilena, ducking his head in apology shortly afterwards. However, the mischievous glint in his eyes lingered. If Erilena wasn't Feyrianth's rider, Casiloy was sure that he would have enjoyed her company, but the fact stood that she was the only thing that stood between Feyrianth and himself. That being, he could like her, he just couldn't like her too much. "And you did Fey! Though they won't do much good if their in your mouth!" Casiloy beamed.
"Oh, wait!" he said, rushing into the barracks quickly. Now where had he put it? The candidate had been spending his free time intertwiing the stems of some flowers he had found into a necklace, a ring of sorts for Feyrianth. Hastilly he folded it into a wad and placed it into his pocket before reamerging.
"Ready to go!"

Casiloy’s obvious excitement about her arrival had Feyrianth’s eyes whirling faster and highlighting to a brighter blue. There was nothing better then being liked enough to be excited over. Nothing. The candidate reminded the four winged green a little of the creche kids who squealed and dropped whatever they were doing to race to her and hers when they came to visit. If anything this should cheer hers up and indeed Erilena couldn’t help but smile brightly at the candidate’s enthusiasm. It was catching. How could you not be happy when someone else was so happy to see you? Even if it was because they were taking him falling. At the very least they were still teaching him a little about dragons. Getting him used to them and flight. Giving him maybe an advantage over the others. Who really knew?
With a cheerful laugh Erilena moved up beside Feyrianth and placed a hand on her dragon’s foreleg. “Oh the offer definitely still stands and this time I don’t have to make her go easy because we’ll be strapped in. Hope you’re up for it.” Missed her? The rider rather thought it was probably mostly Feyrianth he had missed but that was okay. In fact the green in question had already lowered her head to nuzzle Casiloy with obvious affection, straps still dangling from her mouth. Oh I have missed you too! We will have to see each other more often yes? Then a whirl of pink embarrassment whirled briefly through her eyes as he mentioned the straps. Oh yes. No good at all. They will have to be properly placed. Turning her head she nudged Erilena gently.
The greenrider briefly scratched at one of her dragon’s eye ridges before taking the straps from her. She was about to have Casiloy watch her fasten them to Feyrianth when the boy suddenly blurted something and then took off back towards the barracks. Hmm. What could he possibly have forgotten? No matter he’d certainly be back. With that thought in mind Erilena quietly calmed Feyrianth and then, with the ease of someone used to performing the same action over and over for turns, quickly tacked up her dragon. Casiloy could watch her take them off when they were done. Fastening her own harness she waited for Casiloy to return. Giving him a bright smile she tossed him he second harness. “Good. Put that on. Tell me if you need help. It’s pretty self explanatory but it’ll keep you safe in case you lose your hold on her. Safety and all that.”
Feyrianth crooned happily as she waited, the slight twitching of the tip of her tail the only outward sign of her anticipation. Are you excited Cassy? I promise to give you a good flight I do. Bobbing her head the dragon watched as the boy donned the harness and then crouched to allow her riders to mount. Briefly checking his harness to make sure it was right Erilena smiled at Casiloy. “You want to ride up front or should I?”

"Yes, we must see each other more often!" Casiloy explained, giving the dragon a good natured nudge. Much more often in fact. If Casiloy had it her way, the green and himself would be inseperable. He supposed that Erilena could tag along, though that was hardly necassary.
He excepted the harness and glanced at the woman to see how she had situated her own harness. "Safty, yea," he grinned as he tightened the harness around his waste and adjusted it to go around his legs. If safty were so important, Erilena wouldn't have let him go flying with them the first time! Or perhaps she had just made a special exeption. The thought warmed the blonde candidate up to the dragonrider a considerable amount.
When Feyrianth spoke to him again Casiloy forced himself not to run up to the green and scramble up, but no. He would not give Erilena an excuse to think of him as childish. He was sophisticated and calm. "I'm sure you will Fey!" he said, aknowling her statement, but his voice jumped an octive in excitment. Yea, very calm, very sophisticated. That was Casiloy for you.
"I'll take front if you don't mind," Casiloy said, climbing onto Feyrianth's back more easily than he had managed the first time, patting the seat behind him for Erilena. "Coming?" The candidate contented himself byt rubbing the green hide infront of him as his excitment mounted.
Oh, he had almost forgotten! Casiloy pulled out the wadded flower jewelry out of his pocket and untangled it. It seemed that he had miscalculated, it was far to small to fit around Feyrianth's neck! But perhaps if it was doubled, maybe trippled over, it would fit Erilena. "This is for you Erilena, I don't think it will fit around Fey's neck," the candidate said sounding rather dismayed. I'm sorry Feyrianth, I had meant it to be a surprise for you! he apologized silently, hoping the green would pick up his thoughts.
As Casiloy handed it over, his dismay was calmed slightly by his inner fashion designer. The color in the flowers really brought out Erilena's eyes, so wasn't a complete waste of the necklace, Casiloy decided.

Feyrianth waited with barely contained excitement as her riders got themselves ready. A croon was the only noise she offered Casiloy when he agreed to seeing her more often. Even if it was without hers the green would like that very much.
The dragon’s four wings stayed tightly closed although her tail twitched with the barest trace of impatience as Erilena checked to make sure Casiloy had the straps fastened correctly. Wouldn’t do to find out they weren’t correct up in the air when there was next to nothing she could do about it. Satisfied that they were indeed properly fastened, and tight enough, the blonde turned and smiled as the candidate wasted no time in climbing up on her dragon. His excitement was worth the slight nervousness falling like this always caused her.
Why was she not surprised that Casiloy took the front position? Really Erilena didn’t mind all that much. The trip was all for the boy after all. He’d better enjoy it from that position. The healer just prayed that the candidate didn’t get sick easily. Mounting Feyrianth in one quick and easy movement the woman quickly snapped both herself and Casiloy to the straps attached to Feyrianth and then quickly double checked the fastenings before giving the candidate a smile. “All set I think.” Her hands lightly stroked along Feyrianth’s hide as suddenly Casiloy pulled something out of his pocket and unwound it. Looked like a flower necklace of some sort?
Erilena blinked as the blonde boy turned handed her the slightly wilted necklace. The dismay in his tone spoke quite clearly as to who the necklace was really for but the woman accepted it with a smile anyway. “Thank you. It’s lovely.” Came the soft reply to his gift, and really it was lovely. Erilena hardly ever got gifts, even ones meant for other people, and it was clear he had put a lot of time into it. So many flowers. Looping it over a few times she draped it around her neck and smiled warmly at Casiloy. Feyrianth swung her head around to look at the two humans on her back and chirped. Oh such lovely flowers for me and mine. Thank you so very much Cassy. A brief nuzzle was given the boy's leg before the dragon turned her head up towards the sky and her wings slowly opened. Now it is my turn to give you a gift.
Erilena tightened her grip with her legs and leaned forward so Casiloy could better hear her. “Here we go. Hold on tight. She doesn’t have to hold back this time and she won’t.” The greenrider hoped that the boy really was ready for this. Without further words Feyrianth’s hindquarters bunched and she sprung into the air, all four wings catching the air and powering her upwards as fast as she was physically able.
Erilena gave into the feeling of the adrenaline that flooded her veins as they powered into the sky and gave an excited shout which was quickly torn away by the wind. Her arms wrapped around Casiloy’s waist for stabilization as Feyrianth finally leveled out high above the canyon. Didn’t lose anyone did I? Came a teasing and playful remark from the green to both humans as she stilled her wings into a glide.

Casiloy smiled in delight, Erilena wearing the necklace made the candidate feel like it was meant for her after all. The candidate grinned grew wider still as his favorite green thanked him for his gift, and he returned the affectionate nuzel with his own. Perhaps he would make a habit, bringing gifts to the pair. He honestly liked making people happy, and Eriliana's smile was admitadly beautiful- it was worth his time to get her to smile.
Casiloy headed the rider's words and held on with his legs as Feyrianth shot into the air, pumping her two sets of wings to gain alititude. They were rising, and quickly at that. Not at all like the pleasent rider that they had gone on when they were lacking straps. This was fast, this was exhilirating. This was.... exciting. And Casiloy loved it.
Casiloy whooped in excitment urging Feyrianth to go faster. As the green leveled out, the candidate leaned back into Erilena's 'embrace.' Being in the air with the beloved Feyrianth, and in the arms of a pretty woman, even if it was Feyrianth's rider. Oh well, it was with Erilena's permission that he was in the air with the green pair, so Casiloy's opinion of her had grudginly been boosted. No longer would she just be tolerated by the blonde boy, she would be liked, her company enjoyed.
Casiloy glanced at the straps that he was wearing, for a second he had a nagging feeling that they had become loose. But the notion was quickly pushed away. "I'm not lost yet," he called to Feyrianth, "and you'll be hard pressed to!" The candidate looked over to Feyrianth's shoulder and into the canyon. It was a long drop. Casiloy grinned. Or, on Feyrianth, a long fall.

Erilena laughed at Feyrianth’s comment and gently tapped her with the heels of her boots. “Nope I think you still have us.” She chimed back before she brushed her messed hair back and quickly tied it with the small leather tie she normally kept around her wrist. Leaving it loose doing this was just asking for trouble. The greenrider blinked as Casiloy leaned back into her and then used the motion to make another quick check of the straps connecting them both to Feyrianth, solely because she was a paranoid creature. Yes Feyrianth joked of losing them but it actually happening would be more then tragic. With a bright smile the rider glanced over at the canyon below and took a deep breath. Give us a warning before you drop love? Of course.
Feyrianth rumbled in amusement at Casiloy’s return comment. Well she didn’t want to truly lose him of course, but playful teasing was one of her favorite things. Banking suddenly to the left the green coasted almost sideways before leveling out again. I do hope you don’t easily lose your stomach. With two beats of her double wings she then stilled them and gave a loud bugle of excitement. Here we go! Hold on tight. First a simple fall, and if he could handle that the female decided she just might show him what she was really capable off. Plunging her head down Feyrianth’s body followed in a simple dive. No twisting or backwards falling this time. Wings snapped tightly shut to her frame as the green plummeted towards the ground at a near completely vertical angle.
Erilena nudged Casiloy right before they dropped. “Lean forward or you’ll create resistance. Closer you are to her the more comfortable it will be.” With that she slid her arms forward alongside the candidate and leaned forward to press against his back, tightening her grip with her legs. Really the greenrider never had been a complete fan of falling like this, but sometimes the adrenaline rush was worth it. Nearer and nearer they came to the river below as they fell into the canyon. Anytime now Fey…
Nearer and nearer the green came to the river below. Closer and closer still. Until it seemed that she wasn’t planning to stop at all. Easy to fall past that safety zone for a normal dragon and then flick her wings slightly outward, banking sideways with her momentum to pull out of the dive before leveling out and thrusting them downwards to gain altitude. With a happy bugle Feyrianth winged out over the river and dipped lower. Her wing tips brushed across the river’s surface before, with a playful smack to the water with her tail, she began to rapidly climb again. How was that? She asked her riders with pride before exiting the canyon and making for the clouds. Perfect as always. Nice job love.
Throwing her hands up into the air Erilena laughed and then nudged Casiloy in the shoulder. “Not half bad huh?” She shouted over the wind. Okay so the adrenaline rush was just as addictive as she remembered. “That wasn’t even half of what she can do either. You want to do it again?”

Casiloy thanked whatever higher powers that resided over pern that he had skipped breakfast that morning, as he clung to the saddle tightly. He did as Erilena instructed, pressing his body as close to the green as humanly possible, secretly thankfuly for the feeling of Erilena behind him. Her presense was oddly comforting and allowed him to enjoy the fall without any reservations.
Feyrianth was absolutly fantastic as plummeted towards the ground, a feet that could only be done by a dragon. Casiloy whoops of excitment were stolen by the wind as the fell faster and faster. Soon enough, the candidate's pure elation was marred by worry, they were going so incredibly fast and were getting dangerously close to the river below. Feyrianth showed no sign of stopping.
And then with one sweep of her four wings she pulled them out of their seemingly fatal fall, propelling them across the river. As soon as he felt them level out, Casiloy through up his arms and shouted with excitment. Adreneline was pumping, and the candidate wanted nothing more than to replicate the feeling again and again. "That was amazing," he praised the green, rubbing her hide enthusiastically before turning to Erilena.
"She can do more?" He asked, wide eyed to the green rider. His expression was one of child like wonder, he hadn't felt this happy, or energized, in ages. "Again, again, again," he chanted, smile plastered on his face, eyes glinting with sheer excitment. "Erilena, this is amazing!" he murmered, dipping his head with gratitude. To be a dragon rider... to be able to do this everyday with someone who was intimatly connected to you... it was amazing.
"Do you and Feyrianth think that if I ever impress, you could show me and my partner how to go falling? With the Weyrlingmaster's permission of course," Casiloy added, not meaning it for a second. This was something he would like to duplicate as much as possible.

Feyrianth gave a happy trill as Casiloy rubbed at her hide her eyes whirling in bright shades of cyan blue. I am glad you enjoyed it! And she was too. Trilling a happy song she pumped her wings as she rose higher and higher into the sky breaking through the cloud cover and twisting her body in a slow spiral before leveling out high above the canyon again. There she drifted for a moment the almost metallic green spots on her body glimmering as the moisture from the clouds reflected the sunlight. Erilena thumped her dragon’s neck and offered her candidate passenger a radiant smile. The rush of adrenaline and Casiloy’s clear amazement had chased away any lingering feelings of doubt that she had had about this idea. The greenrider was quite proud of her dragon and everything she had overcome in light of her deformity. To think that once she was worried that her dragon wouldn’t be able to fly. Proved them all wrong they had. With Behruth’s help and their own determination.
Erilena laughed at Casiloy’s near awed expression before she answered his question. “Oh she can do all sorts of things. She’s amazing!” Part of that was of course pure bias there were of course things Feyrianth would never be able to do with four wings but on the other side of that there were maneuvers she could perform that dragons with less wings couldn’t as well. What she could do however they had worked hard to perfect. The greenrider stroked the hide beneath her fingers and mentally asked Feyrianth to wait so she could answer Casiloy’s questions. Giving him another bright enthusiastic smile she nodded. “It is amazing isn’t it?”
Giggling Erilena spread out her arms like wings as Feyrianth banked to circle river far below like an eagle. The candidates almost childish chant of again, again, again, only had her smile widening further. “Sure we can go again and she’ll make it a little more exciting this time.” Stroking the hide beneath her fingertips again she paused and tilted her head at the boy’s next question.
For a second she almost looked surprised before the smile was again present on her face. “Feyrianth and I would be happy to show you and your dragon how to fall when you impress. You know if the Weyrlingmaster is okay with it.” She said cheerfully even as Feyrianth decided to add in her two cents. I would be more then happy to teach you and yours. I am the best at it after all. The green added with just a tiny touch of pride in her tone as she circled. Giving her wings a couple of swift flaps she broke through another cloud before asking with barely contained excitement. Are you ready?
