Kidem found himself with rather a lot of free time. When he could get away with it he would escape the weyr and travel back to his dolphin, Yua, but he was stuck at the weyr for a bit. So, in all his free time he'd decided to try and see how good the barracks would be for pranking. With the classic bucket of water that spilled when a door opened. He didn't really have anyone he wanted to prank just yet but since most of the other candidates were out at the time it seemed like the perfect opportunity to figure it out.
The dolphineer made a viewfinder with his hands to try and judge the distance from the door to the couch. Well, if he did a loose sack of water instead of a bucket and just held the rope from behind the couch...? Yeah, no escape or blame-pinning available in that scenario. Buckets tended to hurt though. And required a lot more work. Damn. Oh. Oh he was clever! The candidate rushed back to his trunk and rummaged around gleefully. There he found a soft leather sack that hopefully wouldn't leak too much and couple of nails. Humming he deposited the items on a table in the common room and frowned thoughtfully.
He was missing something. Something very important. The candidate sighed soulfully and left the barracks to go locate what he needed. It was a freaking cave system. Had to be a rock somewhere. By the time he found one and returned to the barracks someone else was there. Looking at his materials. "Hmm, Olivia, isn't it? If you're thinking of touching those things, I wouldn't. The bag is actually a space critter with infinite space inside and will eat you up if you touch it," he commented, tone rather serious. "And the nails are actually metal worms that will burrow into your skin and have little metal worm babies until you explode."
The blue-eyed man sauntered closer to the young girl - he figured her to be about half his age - and gave her a wink. "Unless, of course, you're trained to handle them. Like I am. I'm a secret agent in the Order of Weird Crap. Are you at all interested in seeing a professional at work, my dear?" Kidem almost felt bad for spilling his quirky sense of humour on the poor girl. They hadn't interacted really at all beyond lessons and she usually saw him in his Serious Mode. Plus, young as she was, she might just believe him. Wouldn't that befunny tragic!
