Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Greenrider
Weyr: Selenitas Weyr
Weyrmate: M'ta of Brown Behruth
Niece/Nephew: Terilyn, Riaren
Appearance:
All of the children of Ruahnorne shared similar features, mainly an angular face with clearly defined cheekbones. Ruliana is no exception, bearing such a resemblance to even her half-siblings it was impossible to think they might not be related. Dark eyes are perched above those high cheekbones, framed by long dark lashes. Soft fair skin, devoid of scarring for most of her life has been given a light kiss by the sun - not too dark but no longer as pale as it had been when she first travelled South. Her hair is a inky true black no doubt inherited form her father, seemingly impervious to being bleached or lightened by the sun. Normally she keeps her hair long and loves to put it in intricate braids and such - though from time to time she likes to cut it short. Currently it is growing back in from her last hair cut. Standing at 5’ 8" makes her rather tall for a Pernese woman. Body type? Thin and dainty with just the right amount of weight on her frame to give her some definition and some curves - though she is not ample by any means . Definitely will never be one you could call fat.
Ruliana carries herself with poise and grace. You could tell quite bit about her upbringing simply by watching her- she is elegant and unerringly polite to all. Her taste in food, drink, clothing, and jewelry all sway towards the more refined things. Nothing short of graceful she seems to float over the ground rather than actually walk on it. Her manner of dress is decidedly feminine. You will be hard-pressed to find her in anything other than a dress or skirt. Dark colors are her favorites. Blacks, browns, maroons, navy and the like. She also adores jewelry and will often be wearing something or other around her neck or wrists. She also is adept at find just the right amount of makeup, manner of dress, and jewelry to fit any occasion. She is a woman very much aware of her physical flaws and values and knows just how to make them less noticeable or more apparent.
Personality:
Ruliana is extremely polite and generally sweet. It takes her quite awhile to open up to new people. This is mainly because she is actually horribly shy. This isn’t to say she is a pushover however. In fact she has a lot of spine. She just chooses carefully when to display it. The woman is far from violent preferring to persuade someone with polite words rather than argument. Despite being quite soft spoken she is adept at picking her battles and winning them. Very intelligent she knows just how to display something in a light she prefers. This isn’t to say she is manipulative however, for she is nothing of the sort. She merely knows the right way to act to get a desired effect. She would never use another or a situation to further herself along.
Despite enjoying the finer things in life Ruliana doesn’t expect them and is quite willing to do without when she has to. Her tastes in food and such tend to run on the more refined side of things however and she does indulge when she can afford them. She does have a few weaknesses in that area. She absolutely adores sweets. Of any type, candy, cookies, pies, ect. She adores them all and will make herself sick on them if given the chance. She also adores soft things. Silk, fur, whatever. As long as it is soft it is more than welcome to be next to her skin. Likewise she doesn’t like the coarser or itchier fabrics and doesn’t have much use for lace, wool or the like. She also adores jewelry, especially silver and anything inlaid with rubies or topaz.
In her personal relationships she tends to be extremely reserved at first, only totally opening up once the person proves themselves to be trustworthy. Once you have befriended her however you can count on her loyalty and support. It is unsurprisingly easier for her to make friends among females rather than males. At Nerat almost all of her friends where either female or rather young. Due to this she is very comfortable in the role of a caretaker of the young. In her relationships with males she is extremely shy and often comes off as uninterested. However all of her previous interactions with males where orchestrated by her father. Really Ruliana never had the chance to have a normal relationship with a male. Instead she was always rather subservient and always unerringly polite. This isn’t to say that she wasn’t guarded however. She merely is not herself around older males because they tend to frighten her. Those males of her age or younger are often viewed in a different light and she is a tad more open.
The one obvious talent she possesses is singing and she absolutely adores to do it. If there is music around you will see her humming and then normally breaking into a song, sometimes making up words as she goes along. To her benefit her singing voice is exceptional. A strong soprano which is breathy yet attention grabbing. Her voice was carefully cultivated by the harpers she often took lessons from as a child and it is one of the things she loves most about herself.
History:
Nerat Hold: 2997 - 3014
Ruliana was born to Lord Holder Ruahnorne and Lady Holder Aroliana in the turn 2997. She was the only legitimate child born to the pair. Although Ruahnorne made no secret of his desire for a boy, a boy was not what he was given. Instead he got a beautiful baby girl. Not for lack of trying it seemed that Ruliana would be the only child born to the pair. The girl’s childhood was good. She was taught by the best harpers, loved by her nursemaids and mother, befriended some other hold brats, and really never wanted for anything. She was sweet, obedient, quiet, and unassuming. Life for her was probably quite like others with her status. Her days where filled with teachers, a small bit of free time, and the occasional gathering. Her parents where figures in her life but not very prominent ones. Her father didn’t really take much interest at all in the girl until she came of age to marry. Her mother was far to busy trying to keep her fathers attention. When Ruliana reached the age of fourteen Ruahnorne began to make plans for her betrothal. It would take years for him to find a suitable partner.
In the meantime Ruliana continued to excel in her studies, especially the music oriented ones. It was discovered that she had an excellent singing voice and she did love to sing. Her father often used to listen to her in the evenings as the harpers played. It is one memory of her father that she treasured. Besides her studies the woman began to slightly involve herself in the hold she could one day inherit. As she became closer with the staff she learned of her fathers womanizing ways. Most notably that she had a half sibling and possibly more than one. Her only known sibling’s name was Rusahre and he had been born to a drudge some three or so turns before her. Oh there where no doubt others, but who they where and their names escaped the drudges. The names of a few woman where passed on to Ruliana, but whether there where any children besides Rusahre they didn’t know. Ruliana made it her mission to find out. The thought that she might have siblings intrigued her. Would they be anything like her? Would they even want to know her? This desire to find them probably was born because Ruliana was actually quite lonely. She had friends but longed for the close relationship that siblings seemed to often have. She had nothing even remotely like it.
Catching wind of his daughters interest in his err ‘social callings’ Ruahnorne sought to prevent Ruliana from finding out anymore. It simply wasn’t her place to know such things. Ruliana more or less accepted her fathers wishes and stopped talking to the drudges, more or less, about anything involving illegitimate children. During this time Ruliana began to grow more bold however. She developed a confidence in herself that she might not otherwise have possessed. Still she wondered what happened to Rusahre. Eventually she found out that he had been accepted as a search candidate for Benden. With all chance of meeting her half sibling gone Ruliana decided to track down a few of the woman her father was rumored to have ‘met’ with. It was an attempt to find out if she had any other unknown siblings. Before she got very far with her little project her father found her a husband.
Some 20 turns her senior he had a decent holding in Keroon and would strengthen trading between the two holds. Although Ruahnorne found the match to be perfect Ruliana was less than happy about it. Her fiancée, Torrech, was a greedy man who viewed the woman as little more than property. The marriage was obviously just an attempt to strengthen bonds between the two holds. There was no love and no attraction involved, or rather no attraction on Ruliana’s part. Torrech made no secret that her desired her. Despite Ruliana’s pleas to her father the wedding date was set. There would be no escape. Or would there be? In a fit of panic Ruliana decided to leave Nerat. She wanted no part of Torrech or the marriage. If she told anyone they would no doubt stop her, so she took matters in her own hands.
Going South: 3014
[/u][/center]There was a gather planned for Southern Hold. Many crafters, entertainers, and the like where gearing up to travel there. Before she could talk herself out of it Ruliana planned an escape. Ditching her fine clothes, for ones more suited for travelers, she next cut her long hair as well. It wouldn’t do to be recognized and taken home. Making up a fake name, Aleta, she found a small traveling band bound for Southern. Fate seemed to smile on Ruliana for one of their harpers had taken ill and couldn’t make the journey. For passage to the hold she offered to sing in the woman’s place. Upon hearing her voice they readily agreed and that day they left port bound for Southern. Ruliana was nervous but also weirdly excited. It was the first time in her life she had made a decision completely on her own. It made her feel good actually. It was as if a weight she hadn’t even known she carried had been lifted.
The trip wasn’t bad, the only hang up was the discovery of a small stowaway. Ruliana was interested in small girl who called herself Jazheera. Striking up multiple conversations with the girl Ruliana discovered that she was looking for her brother. Able to identify with her mission she stuck up a friendship with the girl and even went as fair as to reveal her real name after swearing her to secrecy. She didn’t offer much more that that for fear of being discovered and forced to return to Nerat. As they docked at Southern Hold she made a silent plea to whatever god was listening. No matter what happened Ruliana did know one thing. There was no way she could return home.
Bartering her voice for passage and lodging had seemed like a great idea at first - as they got to the Gather however, she regretted her decision. Kelor yelled, a lot. He also hit her on more than one occasion - even though he apologized afterwards that did nothing to make up for the bruising on her. Of course she bruised easily, so perhaps it wasn't all his fault. She was a diminutive woman, who was used to letting others tell her what to do - that didn't mean she had to like it. Still she felt she owed Kelor a lot so she said nothing in her own defense and let him bully her around, for lack of a better term. He saw her as his property until her debt to him was paid off - and she let him, despite the less than spectacular treatment.
When she wasn't singing for Kelor she was with Jazheera, her smaller friend was so full of energy and brightened Ruliana's days immensely. Jazheera was on a mission and while Ruliana didn't see how she could help, she was there for support of course - even if she knew her friend would leave to the Weyr at the first opportunity. An opportunity which presented itself in a very... strange way.
A Brown showed up at the Hold and the excited children got Jazheera interested - so of course Ruliana followed her friend. The interaction between the two girls and the Brownrider was an interesting one - during which Ruliana was held hostage, Jazz was held at knife point, two Browns spoke to Ruliana, the Brownrider turned out to be Jazz's brother, and Ruliana fainted. Interesting indeed.
Her second interaction with dragonriders proved to be just as interesting - the second Brownrider who had been there when she fainted bumped into her during the Gather. After saving his precious cargo - a ring - from being squished, Ruliana determined he was her half-brother. She hadn't known of him before but his Brown had said something about them looking alike. So it was she met her older brother R'wign. Shortly after their meeting Kelor arrived to drag Ruliana - 'Aleta' to him though - away. Her new-found half-brother and the harper ended up in a fight, which ended when the Weyrleader of Selenitas appeared. S'rei paid off Kelor so Ruliana would no longer be in-debted to him and then she was left alone.
Alone. Jazheera had gone back to the Weyr with her brother, she no longer had anyone to provide for her lodging, food, or clean clothes. No marks to her name, Ruliana found herself with very few choices - one of which being returning to Nerat. However before the decision to leave could solidify in her mind she was met with another dragonrider - R'ahre. R'wign had mentioned him to her, and apparently had mentioned her to him as well. Another half-brother found (though why he was in the south rather than Bended where she'd believed him to be remained a mystery to her) Ruliana was then 'searched' by her half-brother's Blue, Ahth.
No longer alone and with the promise of a place to stay and fresh clothes, Ruliana gladly accepted the offer to be a Candidate for Selenitas Weyr - assuring her brother and Ahth she'd do her best to Impress.
Selenitas Weyr: 3014 - 3015
Wisked away to Selenitas Weyr, Ruliana found herself once more side by side with Jazheera. Delighted to have at least one friend in the Weyr - neither of her half-brothers seemed particularly eager to be close to her - Ruliana settled into life as a Candidate. That lifestyle was short lived however, as she (and her friend) found themselves on the Sands for Hepaticath's clutch.
Never in a million turns had Ruliana, the sole heiress to the Lord and Lady Holder of Nerat, thought she would find herself on the Sands face-to-face with numerous dragons and unhatched eggs. She watched as a couple Candidates were mauled by newly hatched dragons, and was beginning to doubt her decision to come to the Weyr all together. Then a small voice spoke in her head - and all was well.
That day she Impressed Green Amalath - while her friend Jazheera Impressed Blue Dhavalth. She was so happy, even if she could hardly wrap her mind around the idea. She was now a Weyrling. She would soon be a dragonrider!
Weyrlinghood went well for Ruliana and her class - for the most part. Well into their time as Weyrlings, when they'd been bumped up to Sr. Weyrlings, something terrible happened. Wasteland riders took over Selenitas. During the attack it became clear that any and all Sr. Weyrlings were going to be killed by the Wastelanders - and the order was given to abandon Selenitas. Going between on Amalath during the confusion, she and her Green came out unscathed. Meeting up with others in their class she was happy to see Jazheera had made it out as well. Where would they go now though?
Burimyu Weyr: 3015 - 3018
The group of exiles were lucky to be alive, and even luckier when they found an abandoned Weyr. Moving in the new Weyr was named Burimyu - a council was established to lead the new Weyr of exiles and they all did their best to settle in to their new lives. Some adapted better than others to their new lives in Buri - Ruliana was one of the ones who didn't adapt well. Still after some time, with Amalath and Jazheera there (along with the others from her class) she managed.
Burimyu had no tithes coming to them. No supplies. So it became clear what they had to do. The Weyr survived by stealing tithes and sneaking into the Hyphen Gather - in the Gather some riders were lost, as Wastelanders had also been there. The Gather, prior to the deaths, had been nice enough - though she learned through Jazheera from M'ta that R'wign had died. Ruliana had not been close to her half-brother but was still deeply upset to learn of his passing. The only good that came of it was M'ta gave Riaren to Meira - she'd have her nephew in Buri so she could see him more often.
Life in Burimyu was not too bad, at least until they lost Meira to mysterious predators. Burimyu tense as they all waited for Jingth's clutch to hatch - what would they do if there wasn't a Gold in the clutch? That day came and went - Jingth going with it, betweening to join her rider in death. The clutch held no Gold, life was looking grim for Burimyu now.
Still even with the loss of their only Gold, life had to go on. Supplies were running low and despite the increase in Selenitas patrols, their riders had to risk another theft of one of the tithe trains heading to Sel. One Burimyu rider was lost when the Selenitas patrols caught them mid-theft. Multiple others were injured, but overall the theft had been a success. Now if only they could find a Gold... maybe Burimyu would make it. Maybe.
The need for a Gold was met - due to an unfortunate incident in Selenitas. A massive earthquake had all but destroyed the Weyr, and only when Burimyu's council reach out and offer help were the survivors given any hope. Moving the survivors from the ruined Weyr to the 'exile' Weyr took time but eventually it was all done. Ruliana for one was pleased to see the number of Wasteland riders left were minimal - while the loss of other riders and Selenitas inhabitants had been sad, their losses were not.
The Gold that had been brought was Millieth - and shortly after settling into Burimyu, now the new Selenitas, she clutched. Time passed, as it always does, and the clutch hatched out a healthy batch of dragonets - New Selenitas' first Weyrling class.
New Selenitas Weyr: 3018 - Present
It wasn't too long until a wher clutch occured as well - thus more numbers were added to the Wherhandlers as well. Life was going well in the South, while in the North the war continued. Ruliana found herself spending as much time with M'ta and the children as she could spare, enjoying his company and seeing her niece and nephew. She and Samael, a blind boy in the Weyr, also became close friends. Yes, life was going well - so a wrench had to be thrown into it.
Selenitas decided to join the war.
Siding with Benden (something about keeping your friends close but enemies closer?) the Southern Weyr sent riders to fight Fort. Even Wherhandlers played a role in the fighting - though Ruliana and Amalath did not. The Green was not much of a fighter, and Ruliana had no desire to return North. Instead the pair stayed in the South and took care of Threadfighting.
The fighting continued, taking its toll on those involved and those close to them. Selenitas lost riders to the war, a loss that was felt to many including Ruliana. Still, what had to be done had to be done. The war was soon to end - with Benden and Selenitas coming out on top.
As the fighting ended it became clear there needed to be major changes across Pern to make things work. There was still tension amongst what was left of the Fort riders, not to mention between Selenitas and Benden riders. Holders and Crafters were none too pleased either - and so a Summit was called.
After some time the Summit's decisions were passed down to the Weyrs - Selenitas and the new one to the North, Inverness. Holds would be tithing children of Impressionable age who had no crafthall training. Weyrs would be handing over any who had crafthall training - weyrfolk, riders, and handlers alike to posts at Holds. Riders were to be split between the two Weyrs of Pern in order to even out numbers.
While Ruliana enjoyed music and was a talented singer, she had thankfully never recieved crafthall training - thus she was safe from being sent to a Hold. However she feared being sent North once more especially if it meant being separated from her family in Selenitas. Upon further questioning it was realized that weyrmated pairs would not be separated, wherever one was the other would be posted to as well. Learning this Ruliana moved in with M'ta and the children, the pair determined not to let their family fall apart.
The fates spoke and thankfully left the family in Selenitas. A turn passed as Ruliana got used to living with M'ta, they were close before living together so it wasn't very hard - she just had to learn to deal with his quirks. They weren't meant to be 'just friends' though, as M'ta made clear when he made a move. So they moved from a 'couple' for convienence to a real couple.

Name: Amalath (from ‘Amala’ meaning ‘clean, pure’)
Age: 8 turns (July 3014)
Color Code: 40F962
Dam and Sire: Hepaticath and Ciceroth
Egg: Cherry Garcia Egg (by Kysseh)
This egg is of an odd shape in comparison to its peers. It is almost as though someone smooshed two eggs together, and the result is a single shell with an indent running vertically around it. Thankfully, the indent is not very deep, and Hepaticath’s careful attention toward the egg should comfort those who are concerned about the hatchling inside. The shell is a curious shade of light brown, sprinkled in with irregular splotches of dark red and chocolate brown with no real regard for pattern or order. Thankfully, the colors of this egg are not so bright as some of the others, so a person can stare without feeling as though they might go blind. Still, despite the dull colors, this smooth little egg is enough to lift anyone’s spirits, and nothing, not even the close proximity of its Peach Cobbler clutchsibling can dampen the mood.
Appearance:
Amalath is roughly average in size for a green, though her slight build will always make her seem that much smaller. Her musculature is rather lean with just enough baby fat to give her some padding, and her ridges are very small and understated, matching the slightly large eyes and shortened claws that give her a gently feminine appearance. Her body is not frail so much as it is just a bit delicate, lacking bulk and characterized by gentle, rounded curves that make her seem like nothing less than an innocent hatchling. Her wing bones look too thin upon hatching to keep her aloft, though they will grow in size and strength as she grows. Her wings are a bit on the broader side, perhaps to give her a bit of extra lift to compensate for the apparent lack of strength. She could never be called ugly, though she will always look a bit young for her age.
Her hide is a light green reminiscent of the first buds of spring. This softens in places to a more pastel green, giving her a bit of a patchwork appearance if one should take the time to look closely at her. On her nosetip, this pastel green lightens almost to white, breaking the otherwise consistent pattern over her body. Her wing membranes are extraordinarily pale, which does not inspire confidence in the strength of her wings. The rest of her hide seems healthy in color, though careful daily scrutiny will be required to spot flaky spots. They seem to blend in with her color very well.
Given her lightness of frame, Amalath will make a surprisingly good and agile flier once she manages to get herself into the air with some reliability. Her stamina will never be very good, though she will be much stronger at full size than as a hatchling. Her lack of endurance is adequately compensated by her grace on the ground and ability to turn with impressive quickness. Her broad wings give her the extra lift to pull off some impressive stunts, though Hers had better hang on tight. Those stunts may be a little rough without practice. On the ground, though, Amalath’s small size makes it easy for her to get around. Her low center of gravity means she can move quickly without the risk of falling over.
Personality:
This green could never be called mean-spirited, selfish, or lacking in virtue. If anything, Amalath is the epitome of good character, lacking any real understanding of self-interest. Her mind dwells very little on her own wants or needs, save for the occasional thought of flights, and those around her will often be surprised by how much she genuinely desires to look after her compatriots. Her clutchsiblings and other weyrlings will probably find themselves frequently getting visits from an Amalath eager to cheer them up and encourage them through their lessons, dragging Hers in her wake. Very little can keep this girl from socializing and taking care of others, particularly her favorites. And oh, she does have favorites, even if she would never purposefully neglect anyone.
Others may find themselves annoyed with Amalath’s insistence on looking after them, but the actions are brought out of the best intentions. Amalath loves to look after others and make them feel loved and worthwhile, and it brings a certain thrill to her to provide that care. You could call her an addict, in many ways, for being unable to talk or tend to others will make her most despondent and unhappy, prone to fits of being snappish and just generally intolerable. Most of the time, though, she is perfectly delightful and amiable, and though she adores Hers above all other humans (for the obvious reason that Hers is her favorite human), she has few qualms about speaking to other humans, whether they be dragonriders or not. She is just making their life easy by not forcing Hers to translate, after all. Why go through a middle-person when talking directly is soooo much easier and more uplifting for the human being spoken to? Amalath will forever be known for her affectionate ways, like no few of her clutchmates, but she will always go the step further in extending that affection to all creatures, regardless of species. She seems to lack the general draconic dislike for whers, thinking them absolutely lovely beasts that are constantly in need of a good cuddle.
For all her general sweet temperament and easy ways, Amalath does have one very telling sticky point: flights. For an unknown reason, Amalath’s memory surrounding flights and the details of them are a complete black hole, and the green will wake from a nap or long sleep following her flights with no memory of what transpired. She will believe that she did Rise, but since she didn’t remember, does it count? No. Therefore, every male that catches her will be regarded as her first and treated with the utmost affection she can provide. Unfortunately enough, Amalath seems to retain enough instinct about the happenings of the previous flight that she can never pick the same male twice in a row. Because of her affectionate and caring nature, it is doubtful that she will ever be lacking in suitors, though her lack of memory of their good (or perhaps not so good) flight performances may dissuade them from chasing again. Hers will certainly be an experienced person, given the fact that Amalath will Rise more frequently than any other green, perhaps as many as four times a Turn.
Name: Poe
Species: Firelizard
Color: Blue
#383a3f - #adb0bb - #00a8ff - #095e81
Age: 7 turns (Feb. 3015)
Clutch: The Over the Moon Clutch (Elegance's Clutch)
Egg: Rent Egg
An explosion of color, this egg looks like no other. The backwash of the shell is, simply put, bright red. However, trying to call it ‘red’ would be like trying to describe a rainbow as one simple color – it just isn’t a good enough description. Strips of green like scarves drape over the top of the egg, uneven and jagged, far from the most eloquent of color combinations, but it adds an accent that is decidedly original. On the bottom of the shell is a vivid purple splash, as though someone dipped it into paint at an awkward moment. Finishing off the egg’s smattering of shades are smears of yellow all over the middle, no two exactly the same size and apparently of no rhyme or reason in their designs. When considered with to the size of the egg – on par with average for the clutch, but on the small size over all – this one is likely to get a lot of attention. Perhaps it’s colored that way on purpose.
Physical Appearance: This blue firelizard is identifiable most for the sloping line of his snout that makes his eyes, which are slanted a touch too much, seem to be serpentine at all times. He has a slender neck, graceful and elegant, that makes his body seem more slender than should be natural. He has long wings, wide enough for apt gliding, but really he’s built more for quick bursts of speed that will make even some greens envious. This speed comes at the cost of size – for he’s most assuredly an absolutely tiny blue; at full-grown he’ll match an average green in size with large ones dwarfing him easily. His ridges are sharp and noticeable, and his tail is extremely long and whippy, almost resembling a salamandyr’s. The combined effect is for this little guy to look more like a winged snake than an actual firelizard; he’ll no doubt be adept at twining his body around things, rather than simply perching. Everything is for wrapping around!
Somber shades of blue make up the majority of this blue’s coloring. Leaning closer to gray, he almost resembles an eerie little storm cloud, with midnight hues that spread over his wing bones and down near the bottom of his tail. He has a lighter shade of blue-gray making up his stomach, almost as though he’s wearing a little tuxedo, and this shade is mirrored around his ankles, giving this firelizard ‘socks.’ No doubt he would be qualified as well-dressed. Down his back, though, is a shade that can only be described as electric blue. It starts from the tip of his snout and streaks back in a jagged line, over his neck, down his back to the base of his tail before fading out into the gray hues of his body. At night, this is possibly the only color of him that will be readily visible – a streak of blue lightning for all to admire. His entire body seems to shimmer cerulean, which is perhaps his only saving grace: he’s definitely not an ugly little flitter.
Personality: Somber and serious, this firelizard’s personality is extremely severe. Jokes are lost on him as are comedic antics and any kind of mischief – he simply has no tolerance for it. When it comes to instructions and learning, he’s tops: His can expect him to follow orders without question, without hesitation, and without problems. He’ll never have any problem doing exactly what is asked of him, or finding others to help him, and he understands even the vaguest of requests. An excellent messenger, an extremely gifted listener, and the finest of helpers, this firelizard is aptly suited to any need His may have – as long as it isn’t to provide amusement or become court jester. Being as intelligent as he is, this firelizard likes to learn and learning is something that he does well – instructions, patterns, you name it, he can memorize it. His merely needs to think an instruction and he can follow through on it with ease, and he can pick up the faintest thoughts to act on. The end result of this is frequently for him to do things without His ever needing to say or imply it’s wanted – he’s a little mindreader, and he’s proud of it.
In terms of noises, though, this is one firelizard that doesn’t make much. While he’s capable of chirping and chattering, he just doesn’t do it; he finds it troublesome and hates to be a bother to anyone, least of all His. If he’s not delivering messages or playing errand boy, he usually perches out of the way and listens/observes without a sound. No disturbance. No awkwardness. No noise. He’ll acknowledge if he’s spoken to with a single quiet chirp, but beyond that, nothing. He’s also very gentle, which makes him ideal for interacting with strangers – he has perfect control over his little claws and will never scratch or bite anyone unless he’s risking being harmed. Even in protection of His, he’s unlikely to get violent. Logic wins out: if His needs help, he’s more likely to go find someone who can aid his Chosen rather than act viciously. Violence is for lesser creatures than him. Being intelligent, he’s also good at locating who is the best help to His at any given time, and he’s more than memorized all the ranking individuals at Selenitas. These are the people who can help, after all.
When it comes to other creatures, “respectful” is a good word to describe the personality of this flit. He keeps a distance. He never – ever – lands on someone who isn’t His without them offering, and he never makes a peep unless he’s spoken to. Female firelizards are treated with kindness and consideration, and if he Chases, he’ll likely mate for life – or at least until the last female he caught Rises again. He’s fondest of sweet creatures, regardless of species, and it won’t be unusual for him to positively dote upon females that he likes; he refuses to steal but bringing flowers or shinies isn’t unusual. This is his way of showing affection, after all. Just because he’s always serious doesn’t mean he lacks a heart~

The most noticeable thing about this canine is undeniably his eyes; they’re true husky blue, pale and startlingly round, rimmed in black, set in an intelligent, neat face. His ears are triangular and wolf-like, with a puppy-like tendency to fold over at the tip roguishly. Thickly furred, he’ll mature from a round sausage-like puppy to a sturdily-built dog, with long legs to offset the muscles and fat of his body and a tail that is essentially purely fluff. He’s got a particular bouncing gait that tends to exaggerate the flow of his fur, too, youthful even as he ages, if a little bit on the clumsy side…
Color-wise he takes after the husky of his heritage, the black signature to the breed prominent over his head, shoulders, back, hindquarters, and tail, while his underbelly and a large patch on his chest is a warm cream-brown color, just a few shades off from white. The same color, tipped in black, appears to frame his eyes, while true white streaks down his forehead and over his muzzle, just a slight bit lopsided to favor the left to give him an endearingly owlish sort of expression.
Personality:
As if to make up for the prominent husky influence in his appearance, this male acts more like a shepherd than many purebred dogs do. He will have, even as a puppy, a very strong herding instinct—people should beware, for he is not above nipping at ankles to direct people where he wants them, which is preferably a neat little circle. He’s a devastatingly intelligent canine—while it may seem silly, he’ll rapidly be able to manipulate people to actually get them where he wants them, instead of just failing repeatedly. It’s not a habit he’s going to be able to be trained out of; the male is nothing if not stubborn to go with his smarts, and while he’ll readily obey almost any other order the itch to corral will always be present.
He’s an energetic and exceptionally loyal creature as well, if not slightly overly possessive of his master and any other humans that may be prominent figures in his life. Be it against human, other canine, or even draconic creature much bigger than he, the male’s a steadfast and fierce defender when it comes to threatening strangers—though he does not demand much affection or attention from his owner, past exercise, food, and occasional acknowledgment. Fortunately his owner will find it easy to train him out of aggression; that said, it will also be easy to exacerbate his aggression with the right training. He’ll always be surprisingly patient when it comes to puppies, small children, and felines, but he’s also got the potential to shape up to be a spectacular guard dog.
