It seemed Shells had finally tired of insulting the other chasers, mainly because he seemed to finally have Leviathan's attention. As much as the other unworthy Salamandyrs needed to be told off, the need to please the Gold was much stronger. Titania's words didn't even deserve his attention, which he made clear with a rude farting noise aimed in her general direction as she glided past him. He finished off with a belated snap at her tail, but he wasn't about to try to keep up with a Green, thanks. Oh wait, he did have something to say (of course). Don't fly, no fall, stupidface. No one catch skinny Greens, 'cept traiters likken King, Atlas, cetera. Because it obviously didn't count if colors other than Bronze caught.
Once he'd gained the bed, Shells paused momentarily, taking stock of the situation. He would follow Levi, obviously, but would it be better to stay above the sheets where she could see his talents, or to go underneath and, say, bite the offending human where the sun didn't shine? ...Ah. Well, he had an idea, especially if his human was being an idiot, as usual, which seemed to be the case. Shells do SOOOOOOO much for Levi-Queen! Anything asked. Shells doen't eye the Persous, Shellzisiz not as smart perhaps, but this what Shells do to His iffin he comtinute be confused about LeviZzznat being one, beeeaaaauuuutttiiifffuuulll love! (Beautiful, of course, was pronounced very carefully). Diving under the sheets, Shells twisted and rolled, avoiding all but one dangerous smash from the bed's occupant. His tail was pinned, but, with a mind-vibrating screech, Shells released, leaving the flailing appendage trapped under one of the human's legs. Putting on a final burst of speed, he surged forward, sinking sharp little teeth into the softest bit of vulnerable human flesh he could find.
Even though his mouth was full, Shells crowed in triumph. See! See! Bitebitebite if fool-slave not know how Levi best! Only once he felt Piden pause in horror did he release the poor unfortunate man whose weyr they had invaded, clambering out of the sheets without further incident. He was tailless now, but so what? It would grow back. Unfortunately, the same was not true of Shells' useless wings. The long, skinny appendages were not even wide enough to glide. With a miserable moan, he called, Shells worsiiip friom blow, no ways to... Ah, but he had an idea. He'd run into this before. Scampering up a bedpost, he jumped as high as he could, flaring out his enormous red frill to catch air like a parachute. See! Shells see!
With the necklace still in hand, Piden made room (some room, anyway) knowing that queens rarely liked to be crowded too badly. He maintained enough brainpower, though, to know that the hallway was NOT a good place for the mandyr owners to clog up, especially not now that more and more of them were appearing. Forcing the door behind him, he pulled it open, with vague notions of a fleeing Rider flashing in his peripheral vision. Greenrider maybe? Well, whoever it was they needed to learn to lock their door. The open room was forgotten, however, as soon as Osnat beckoned. Piden leaped towards her, grabbing Perses-Ivy by the wrist to pull her out of the way and behind him, moving himself closer to Osnat, of course.
That was approximately when Shells took a bite out of some poor man's junk.
Dropping Ivy's wrist like it had burned him, he hissed over his shoulder at the redhead, Shells' threat clear in his mind. Osnat only, or he would pay the price. "Leviathan the one, no others," he muttered, scrubbing absently at a lipstick mark on his chest, bared as his robe slid off one shoulder. "Leviathan one, no others. Never never. So many mistakes..."

Shells wasn’t even worth King’s time anymore. He had far better things on his mind…like Leviathan. Whatever jabs the older salamandyr threw at him were ignored in lieu of concentrating on the gold’s obstacle course. Of course Titania got a reaction out of him…a brush against the mind, a subtle gesture, but there nonetheless. King dove under the covers after Shells, and he was able to avoid the worst of the flailing limbs with neat efficiency. When the reddish salamand got pinned under a leg, King launched himself upwards, scrabbling over the older salamandyr’s back and popping out on the other side, just in time to avoid the explosion that ensued once Shells had bitten the man’s crotch.
None of this mattered to King. The violet in his eyes was coming faster and faster. He saw her feet above his head and raced right off the edge of the bed, his wings opening at the last second to propel him to the opposite wall. Claws would scrabble against the wall as he bunched up his muscles, for half a second before he released all his pent up tension in one giant spring backwards. Sinewy body would twist in the air so that he was facing the way Leviathan was flying and wings would snap out once more. His wings weren’t meant for flying long distances, but he could more than keep up with the queen for a chase such as this. His little launch from the wall put him slightly above Leviathan, but he quickly leveled out.
King was trying his best to ignore the red salamandyr, but he was talking, talking, talking. He felt sorry for Leviathan if she chose him. Especially if she didn’t mind getting her frill talked off on a regular basis. He took some satisfaction out of the fact that Shells couldn’t fly…but was gliding on the air with his frill? King had never worried about not having a frill. He never really needed one. Once he extended his frilless spines, whoever he was threatening got out of the way pretty quickly. He put Shells out of his mind. Whatever happened now would be decided by Leviathan, King acknowledged with another croon in the gold’s direction. There was no more he could say or do, it was coming down to the end and whatever happened happened. Whatever Shells could do for her, he could do better…he just needed the chance to prove it.
Kaius was still writhing beneath Kaiusk. He stopped writhing long enough to catch Vivano’s words. “ Why are you up there?” It seemed like a perfectly logical question at the time. He wasn’t aware that his mind wasn’t exactly being perfectly logical, but that didn’t matter. He just needed to get this big gold…wait, gold? Like Leviathan? Kaius curiously poked Kaiusk. The wher, in tune to his thoughts, rumbled in amusement. NOT like Leviathan. She said rather firmly before Kaius realized that she was right. This wasn’t the queen he was looking for.
This was immensely amusing to the gold wher. Especially when Vivano got closer to her to study her. Apparently she looked like a wormy thing. She said to Vivask with amusement. She wasn’t sure if she should take this as a compliment or not. The gold looked at the bronzehandler for a moment. If you are very gentle…she supplied to her brother…you won’t hurt him much. Speaking of big, the giant human that belonged to Cainsk had come over…for some reason. The gold wher crooned in curiosity as he knelt down to her. Oh hello there. What would you like? She said in the direction of the giant man, considering his proposal carefully. He was bigger than even she. Surely if he were to sit on Kaius, he would squash him. An image of Cainith squishing Kaius before deciding the man knew more about these salamandyr runs than she did.
Crooning again, she hauled herself off of the boy and took a few steps back, sitting down smoothly. Her tail flicked against her flank as she regarded the scene in front of her. She couldn’t wait until she was old enough that she didn’t need to restrain her boy when King chose to chase.
Kaius, on the other hand, wasn’t amused by the turn of events one bit. The ungainly teenager flailed as the man nearly picked him up, then flipped him around. His face was ground into the dirt and he growled loudly, flailing and kicking the ground in an attempt to get loose. Obscenities flew out of his mouth easily. WHY was he being held? He needed to get to the queen. Needed to get to herrrr.

Perses gave a light hiss as he was corrected by not only the green but the gold as well. Man, he couldn't get a break anywhere it seemed. And then that damned Shells was talking. And talking. And talking. Did he never shut up?
Following the golden beauty into the room he hopped up onto the bed. Lost in the sheets for a few moments a swift kick from the human occupant made him more mindful of his surroundings. Despite having fallen behind due to his inability to tell which way was which he found Shells and was quick to slip past him towards the exit of the blanketed catacomb he was lost in. Hot on Kings' heels he watched the other 'mandyr as he climbed then glided towards Levi in the air. Well, if the bronze could do it so could he.
Up up up he climbed, mimicking the larger salamandyr's methods of climbing higher. Then he tossed himself into the air - his perfectly proportioned wings allowing him to glide smoothly towards the gold. He was tired, but not too tired to keep up - after all he had less bulk to carry around.
In the hall - oh wait they were in a room now weren't they? - Perses/Ivy practically purred in pleasure as Levi/Osnat came closer. So close. Pressed against him/her - a biting kiss... cut all too short by the others. A hiss came from the woman's full lips as Shells/Piden pulled at her wrist and she clawed at him. Then there was an explosion in her mind. Rollhead's voice found her and she cried out in frustration - what was he doing? She was here for the gold! Why was he meddling?! Though his voice brought a bit more of her own mind to the surface, less affected by the runlust she'd fallen into. For a brief moment she glanced around with her own eyes and mind and took in her surroundings. Then there was Perses again, and his maddening lust pressed her forward, taking a step towards the gold as she murmured, "Yes, only beautiful. Very beautiful."
--------------------------------------
Still towards the back of the group, Atlas was among the last to make it onto the bed. Fortunately for him he was able to gain some ground under the covers - he was quick to avoid being crushed by flailing limbs, and quicker to find the opening at the top that Levi had slipped out of as she changed her tatics. In the air now? Shards, he couldn't do that.
Running back and forth over the surface of the bed, giving little thought of the person he was trampling all over. Jumping he twisted and flared out his spines along with his fairly useless wings, maybe she would be impressed with his acrobatics?
S'rring-Atlas grinned as Osnat-Levi took the offered gifts. Then he moved in closer to her, closer to Ivy, closer to Piden - into the room. Were there others? He didn't know, and didn't care. Osnat-Levi was there, so close he could touch her. The others got a dismissive wave of his hand, and Piden-Shells got a nasty glare when he drew too close to the golden woman. She was his, didn't he know that? "Pretties look marvelous on the pretty." Ah, poetry - not Atlas or S'rring's strong suit.

Oh yes, a green who was Chasing a queen; of course she’d be terribly upset when no bronzes showed up for her Runs, it’d just absolutely break her heart. Titania huffed in softly derisive amusement, flashing a brief glance at King tinted with blue at the other bronze’s light touch to her mind. The green remained motionless coiled around the bedpost for a moment, watching the chaos unfold just below her, and then, in lieu of attempting to cross, snaked further up the post, wings flaring in preparation of gliding in pursuit should Leviathan choose to leave from the bed. She rather doubted it would happen though—if the gold wanted treacherous crossings, well, there was plenty, wasn’t there.
She was quiet, watching the small swarm of Salamandyrs and the man in particular with idle pity, until Leviathan sprang off of the pillow into flight and Titania crooned, a low musical note, and uncurled from her bedpost, claws digging into the wood briefly, to launch herself into a glide that carried her neatly a few inches beneath Leviathan and dropped her on the headboard of the bed, the green murmuring a private, Rather loud to be useful, isn’t he? to Leviathan; ‘he’ needed no specification, in her opinion.
Shells was really the only one being ridiculously verbose, and not even very articulately so.
Anyway—Titania didn’t expect she was really in the running anymore; golds wanted babies, didn’t they, and she could hardly provide that. And she doubted that any of the male Salamandyrs would be willing to share, even King or Perses, or that Leviathan would be okay with that. So why not—she was still going to stick around till the end anyway. Out of respect (or something like it—it only really lasted as long as the gold was Running), if nothing else.

Asshat was more than happy to completely disregard all other chasers, including Titania. He scrambled after Leviathan, but not before folding his wings very neatly upon his back again. As he found himself suddenly lagging behind the others, he simply prepared to follow everything the gold did. The brown scrambled up the bedpost after her, and onto the bed. The person who was flailing and crawling with Salamandyrs was not quite an obstacle for Asshat. His often flailed when the ‘mandyr crawled on him, so it was of little consequence.
Over an arm, onto the chest, Asshat scrambled over the poor man’s face. One foot found his nostril but the brown didn’t care. Eventually finding his way through the maze of man and fur and ‘mandyr, Asshat emerged. After Leviathan he leapt with pure confidence. Coming from the same clutch, he had the same large wings and he spread them wide now to try to impress her. I can does too, see, he crowed to the gold. Impressive, no?
You are simply ruining his chances by staying here,[/I] Weith half-scolded R’men, yawning widely, displaying all of his sharp, shiny teeth. Saliva coated some of them, making them glitter in the dim light before his maw closed and they were once again concealed. “Big ones, small ones, some the size of my head…” R’men continued in his mindless drone to repress Asshat. With a great, heaving sigh, Weith very, very gently nudge R’men out of his seat with his nose and pushed him towards the exit to the weyr. Go find her before this is over and it is your fault completely if the little brown fails.[/I] Clearly, that was what mindmates did; pushed Theirs into ridiculous situations.
Force beyond measure to participate, R’men left his weyr and began to meander towards the general direction of Osnat. It was probably both a stroke of luck and coincidence that the man found Osnat. He had just enough mind left to him to see that she was in fact a “she” and he was at no risk to wind up with a man in his bed. He also noticed the small collection of people and chose to blend in. Hopefully she wouldn’t notice him?

A few seemed to try... but.... still for whatever reason, Leviathan found herself underwhelmed by the selection she had here. Perhaps she shouldn't have been so silly as to think that any of them could even come close to reaching her levels of utter awesome. Of course, as entertaining as it was to see Shells biting the human, she wasn't exactly sure what that did other than cause him to flail wildly and swing an arm randomly in her direction, which she was quick to avoid with a flap of her golden and very much functional wings. And then there was the fact that he had managed to lose his tail in the whole altercation. Talk about sacrifice... in a strange moment of reflection the golden queen pulled her tail into her forepaws in a protective gesture as she continued to watch the circus.
Around in lazy circles she went, turning around in a loop to catch King bounce smartly from the bed, to the wall, and back towards her again. Ah! A bedroom ninja! She liked this, all until he saw him above her to which she could only hiss. Bad King! King very smart. Too smart, think he good nough to go higher than me? It was almost enough to cancel out his perfect acrobatics. The keyword being almost. Being the biased gold that she was couldn't truly discount any of her bronze suitors, no matter the circumstances. They after all would produce with her the best clutches, that was a simple fact that had to be taken into account, even if her browns - she took a good look at Asshat and Monster - would make perfectly fine, if not better slaves in their own regards. Asshat for instance could very much fly on his own too, and was quick to show this off without the mistake of taking a higher route than her.
Then there were the others. In a near croon she relied to Titania as she swept past, There are way still he can manage yes? It was a tad backhanded perhaps to remind the green that for all of Shells loquacious manners, he was still useful in the one way that was most important in a run, even more so than the eventual domination of the chosen male: he had to give her eggs, for she had spawn to spread across the world. Her babies. Her devilish little babies.
But just as quickly as she got up into the air, she felt her wings begin to tire. Flying, as capable as she was of it, was simply not something that she had to do all that often, and with what seemed to be a slight falter, the queen pulled her wings in and narrowed her body for a running landing. Forelegs stretched out towards the ground she immediately pulled into a full out sprint as her paws fit the floor, and she moved to return to where it all began: the hallway. The part that was different this time was the story of the hunters and the hunted. Tired of being the mouse in this dichotomy, the gold had her body turned around and facing the chasers, ready to pounce the first ones that slipped through the opening between the door and the floor. What she didn't expect was to be wrapped up in a ball of multiple mandyrs.
Satisfied with the closeness of others and the feeling of their hot breath huffing against her skin, the woman began purring with delight, even if the crowd was virtually fighting for her, as Piden-Shells seemed to be doing in his handling of Perses-Ivy. As highly enthralled as she was by her power to inspire such violence, the woman could only cackle and cover her mouth in a false show of coyness before teasing, "Now, now, now.... Plays good. No dirty cheats. When Levi looks anyways." Behind her back anything would be fair game. Not that there would be much time for that. She felt it... her mandyr counterpart was caught in a tangle of limbs and she too felt the need to have so many hands on her.
She sensing S'rring's desire to touch wrangled an arm around his neck, pulling him into something of a headlock as she hungrily moved to kiss him. He wasn't alone however, and sensing R'men out of her peripherals, used her free arm to force him into the crowd too with a hand grasping at his clothing. Growling between breaths she demanded, "All stay.... stay close with me all...."
(First few to reply get their mandyrs in the mandyr orgy... from that I will determine a technical clutch father, but as far as Levi is concerned they are all her winners.)

King’s wings were starting to tire long before Leviathan’s had. Despite his best efforts, he had began to lose altitude at an alarming rate. If this run were to go on too much longer, he was afraid that he would just drop to the ground, generally something not too good when you’re meant to impress someone. Still, he strained himself to stay in the air. His wing muscles burned to the point of exhaustion. The sharp burning sensation was getting more and more painful, until he heard the gold’s voice. Head perked, and he tilted his head. He hadn’t meant to go above her, that’s just how he came out of his spring! I sorry, Levilove. Didn’t mean to. Levi is still the prettiest, shiniest mandyr of them all. And it was true. Leviathan was quite possibly the most beautiful salamandyr he had ever seen. Titania was close, but, as a bronze in full runlust, Leviathan had no equal.
Finally, she was landing. King angled himself downward, almost as soon as she started moving down. In fact, it would seem like her started to fall before Leviathan had dropped. His wings were just so painful, that he didn’t want to stay in the air a second longer than he had to.
Feet hit the ground moments after the gold’s, though his landing wasn’t nearly as graceful. His wings were numb and hit the ground all awkwardly. He tried to hit the ground running, he really did, but the pain in his sore muscles was so intense that he couldn’t. Instead, he went rolling head over heels in a decidedly ungraceful move.
He was quick to right himself though, and as soon as he was upright, he was running, burning wings tucked to his sides as he single mindedly chased the gold. He was first, he would be the first to her. She would have to choose him. The door was rapidly approaching, and King flattened his body to slip under it at a running pace…and, he ran smack dab into a large golden salamandyr? He was in shock. He hadn’t expected running straight into Leviathan. He heard others behind him, talons on stone. Felt others collide into him, smashing him against Leviathan further.
King still didn’t know what was happening…but she was here, in front of him, her brilliant golden glow surrounding him, blocking out any other presences. The feeling of claw on hide, not at all gentle, tails twined together as males ran into each other. This was right, how it was supposed to be. He wasn’t thinking about the other males. Only her. She was all that mattered, and he gave her all of himself with a loving croon.
She was gorgeous, she was perfect, and it didn’t matter who else was here.

As Rollhead ran the hallways of the Weyr, mindscreaming for the Clutchmommy, he suddenly heard it... voices, and the scuffling of many feet. Deciding it was his best lead, he went in that direction, and soon came upon the cluster of humans that constituted the human halves of the Run. Climbing quickly up a nearby wall, Rollhead looked out over the group, soon spotting the bright red hair of Ivy in the mass. "Rollhead save Clutchmommy!" he cried out, and leapt from his perch, his wings flicking out and allowing him to glide towards the milling humans. Unfortunately, they were moving around so much he ended up landing on Piden, instead, and the tiny blue creature hissed and began moving as best he could through the ocean of human heads and shoulders, jumping from person to person until he finally landed on Ivy's shoulder. Hearing the humans speak their mandyr's thoughts, he soon determined who was Leviathan's human, and started splitting his attention between sending soothing mindwords into Ivy's mind about the Goddess and Ivy's status as the Clutchmommy to try to free her from Perses' grip, as well as watching for any humans who might try to grab or attack Ivy (other than Osnat, at least until Rollhead could make sure she Ivy wasn't Runlusted and wouldn't turn on him for hurting "Leviathan"), preparing to bite and claw any non-Ivy body part that gets anywhere near her head or shoulders (considering it would be difficult for the tiny 'mandyr to defend an area larger than that), fanatically willing to sacrifice his tiny, delicate life to protect what he sees as the one true clutch of his Goddess. ((Please don't kill Rollhead, though if you think you can capture him and deposit him elsewhere without maiming him, go ahead and try... though if you're not Ivy, you'll likely get a bloody hand out of the deal. Will edit in Cainith later if I get a Kisha response to show what Vivano did.))

It was a conglomerate. Asshat, much like Leviathan, did not fly all too often. It wasn't that he couldn't, it was simply more convenient. Catching rides was much easier, as was climbing with his slender body and grabby long tail. When Leviathan landed, so did he, and the brown was not fond of the throng below at all. So many of them! So many competitors and rivals! Only he was the best, and only he could be the one for the gold queen they all desied! After all, only he could fully appreciate the chaos she had caused for the poor man in the weyr, writhing in his bed.
As the gold one left the room, Asshat followed closely behind King. As a bronze, Asshat instinctually knew that King had the better chance, but that wouldn't keep the slinky brown from trying. He ran, pushinghis legs to their fullest, contracting his body for more power to add to his stride. Shortly after King found Leviathan, Asshat did too, and tackled the pair. Yes! Victory! But could it be true? It was Leviathan's choice after all, and only she could pick the winner.
With Asshat joining the tiny fray with King and Leviathan, R'men could resist no longer. Osnat pulled him in and he tried to protest but she hissed at him and he kept his mouth shut. The heat of the bodies made thinking and breathing difficult and he couldn't even distinguish anyone else from the mass. Part of him was happy to not be left out, to be included. When the runlust wore off, the part that would be quite disgusted wouldn't even have a chance.
