The creatures were not pleased with the sudden unity of the whers and their handlers. They had been looking forward to a couple easy meals but apparently it was not meant to be. The pair attacking Roivao's group continued to evade the whers initially and tag-team pounced Ceryl and Cerysk to at least take down the easier prey. They were driven off the woman fairly quickly but considering the amount of blood spurting out of the woman's jugular they had done enough damage. Ceryl collapsed on the back of her wher, twitching faintly. The green screamed and lunged at the hornless creature attempting to retreat and clipped it's hind legs.
As the one went down, the horned one screamed and fell back upon the green wher savagely in protection of the other one. Not that it made much difference since Cerysk would not choose life without her handler and the creature that had fallen would not be able to evade the other whers. Especially not as the other group regrouped with them. The horned one, blind with rage, didn't even notice how vulnerable it was even as the hornless one attempted to get up and limp away from the now far-too-many whers.
The second pair of the creatures paused a bit away from the group of whers, clicking with their extra set of arms in clear deliberation. The second hornless one eventually ended up pushing at the horned one and the pair dashed off into the cover of the night while the whers were distracted with their fallen comrade and the first set of the mysterious animals. Eikask had felt the loss of a second wher that night and whined softly. She hadn't liked Cerysk because of her connection to Pidesk but she didn't wish for the green's death either.
((Feel free to take out the remaining creatures!))
