The bloodcoated blue ignored Eikask's human side, not interested in yet another display of her two-facedness. He already knew what her desire was. That was not at issue. The issue was the gold herself, and how she liked to play this game of dismissal with him over his hide, as if she were ashamed of him. Like a teenaged human girl who only talked to her unpopular friend when the rest of her more 'popular' ones weren't around to notice, otherwise pretending like he didn't exist. Well, Eikask was no human and Dmisk was no creature to put up with such behavior forever, not when it was getting progressively worse. Not when the only females he showed his favor at all were his sisters. She should be honored he came to her Runs at all. Well, no more. Maybe now she'd learn.
Probably not.
Dmitri froze, dark blue-grey eyes shifting to settle past Piden on Eikane. The other harper, Runlust or no, had best make the correct decision here, because if the teenager ended up mothing for Piden without the benefit of Dmisk's lust on him, the goldhandler would be in the doghouse for a very long time. Shaking his head, he pulled away briskly from the bronzehandler as soon as Piden released him and slipped out the door. Only to be stopped in the hallway by his blue. What now?
Dmisk did a pretty good job of convincing all comers that he was a cold, brutal thing. In most ways he was. But it would be a lie if he tried to claim that Eikask's choice to move her Run out of the Weyr despite the fact that when he'd left she'd been going deeper into it was pissing him off. In true Dmisk fashion it was a cold anger that gripped him, one that only faintly tainted his eyes with a crimson sheen. Couldn't leave well enough alone, could she? What, did she expect her move to bring him running back to her to protect her from the baddies of the night? Manipulative bitch.
Bound by ichor and duty to his gold, he did indeed shadow the Run, but he never got close enough to even make out her glow, and kept downwind of them. An undetectable ghost. They were all too easy to shadow, too. Clumsy, noisy bronzes and an even clumsier queen. She did herself a great disservice trying to navigate his domain when it was all she could manage not to bust her face open on the nearest tree root. And the longer he shadowed them, noting the vague stirrings all around that had as of yet moved toward the whers, slipping away instead at such a show of numbers, his anger chilled further and grew.

Darmosk’s feet fell in careful rhythm his breathing synchronizing up as well. Once he fell into rhythm the bronze could go on for nearly forever. Benefits of being bronze was that it gave him great stamina and his determination did the rest. There was perhaps a pleasant warmth growing in his muscles but it wasn’t enough that he felt the needed to pay any attention to it. Surging forward his tongue briefly caressed the stem of the flower in his mouth to make sure it was still there. He didn’t dare pause in his steps for fear that he would lose her if he did. Satisfied that his gift was still hale and whole he noted Eikask’s scramble to turn down a different hall and loped after her.
Bounding up the stairs behind the gold, and taking them at a near run, he broke out into the crisp air a few lengths after she did. Darmosk’s nostrils flared as he deeply breathed in the night air. Half wildling himself he felt the call of the jungle perhaps not as strongly as his wild kin but it was still a place he felt very much at home in. Leaping after the queen the bronze cavorted briefly, throwing himself into the air in excitement and landing heavily before loping after her. He would have called back to her had he been able to do so without dropping the flower but as it was the male simply brushed her mind with a outpouring of excitement and set himself to the task of navigating the jungle after her.
Darmosk lowered his head as she charged after Eikask. His months of being a guard wher showed in the way he navigated the jungle before him. He patrolled these paths. Killed predators here now. In fact even as he pursued the bronze kept pushing his senses outward. Seeking for heat signatures that were dangerous, scents that were wrong or unfamiliar. He would certainly protect his queen if it came down to it. However, for now, it seemed though that the night wasn’t willing to throw anything at them. Still the male kept alert as he wound through the undergrowth and leapt over fallen logs trying to keep Eikask in sight. His muscles were pleasantly burning by this point but it didn’t slow him down too much. Desire and duty warred with any fatigue Darmosk might be feeling and at this point determination was still enough to overcome it.
Darmori looked upon Piden’s kiss with a slight twinge of jealousy but he tried to keep the expression off his face. Especially when in the next moment the gold was shuffling over to him. A soft affectionate croon left this throat as the gold nuzzled against his neck. Only then did he raise his hand to gently run it through Eikane’s hair and along his shoulder, the touch affectionate but light. When the gold drew away Darmori’s eyes followed her every movement. Oh he wanted to pull her back and keep her but Darmosk was too noble for such actions. It was her choice and should remain her choice. They were there to serve her not the other way around.
A smile was offered Roisk as Eikask bid him to come join them and Darmori beckoned too. Darmosk had never had a problem with any of the other whers really. They may be competing for her favor now but that was no reason to act nasty towards each other yes?

Piden ignored Darmori's pointed look, paying attention to Eikane instead. Clearly she didn't mind him initiating contact, he was a Bronze after all. He wasn't protective or pushy about it, and look, it was fine. Returning the Gold's kiss enthusiastically, Piden pulled away when Eikane did, leaving that hand on his thigh. It wasn't possessive, really, just a gentle reminder he had caught before, and could lay claim to Eikask equal to Roisk's. Subtly. Unconsciously. No one would notice unless they were paying very, very close attention, but the quiet claim was there. Pidesk would never think to do such a thing, but Pidesk never quite took Piden over in runs - rather the wher tended to augment his handler's obvious, unabashed sexuality, his passive nature making Piden back off (mostly). At least, it was that way at the beginnings; this run seemed to be moving quickly.
Whatever Piden was feeling, Pidesk was doing his best to tap in to all the reserves of energy and drive His had. He'd expended quite a bit of his own excitement at the beginning, just trying to catch up after leaving Dmisk behind. Now he was running on adrenaline and the power of Piden's unending lust. Lucky for Pidesk, Piden would do just about anything to get someone in the sack, including running a marathon after he was already exhausted. If the smallest Bronze's muscles were burning, if his whole body already ached, if his lungs blazed and struggled to suck in air, he hardly noticed. He had to catch her. Eikask.
As it was, his momentum was such that when first Eikask and then Darmosk abruptly changed direction and headed down a different tunnel, Pidesk missed his turn, losing his footing and rolling as he scrambled to turn himself around. Normally he might have paused there on the ground and given himself a moment to recover, but not today. Surging back the other direction, he whipped around the corner and down the tunnel to the outside, ignoring a shoulder that was certainly bruised if not bleeding and one wing that felt like he'd landed on it funny. With the sort of frantic energy of one truly possessed, Pidesk kept on (although Piden lifted the hand from Eikane's knee and wrapped it around his own shoulder, momentarily confused).
Outside was the same, to the Bronze. His mother had been conceived by a wild pair, so Pidesk himself had some wild blood in him, but he had been raised as a domestic wher his whole life. Others might hear the forest's call; he did not. Instead, he heard Eikask. He couldn't howl like she could (not a vicious bone in his body), but he could croon his desire into the night, and that he did. His vocalizations had always been quiet and somewhat thin, but it was intense at least. The longing was there.
It didn't distract him from the challenging course Eikask set, though. In forests and jungles Pidesk often relied on his long wings, affording him a talent at gliding that few of his kind shared. Not tonight, though. Some sneaky bit in the back of his brain (probably Piden's lingering consciousness) told him to be careful, to keep his wings tucked away in case one really was damaged. He did so, leaping logs and navigating by virtue of his legs alone - it made him distinctly less graceful than usual, but Eikask had little room to pick about grace. He was keeping up. Wild things had not attacked (although honestly, what wild thing would attack four full-sized Whers in their prime?) Things were going well enough, and Pidesk was pleased. All he had to do now was keep it up as long as Eikask could...

Roisk was growing used to the tunnels now, though he still had to slow for corners. He traveled with his nose, following Eikask's lovely scent as she led them down ever twisting passages. Once in a while he would catch a glimpse of her beautiful gold shape, but it was soon lost behind another corner. Roisk was not discouraged though. The chase was still going strong and Eikask naturally wouldn't let them catch up so easily!
Up another flight of stairs and they were out into the wild jungles of their new home. Roisk breathed deeply of the outside air, delighted by the change of scenery. He was growing to know this place well in his patrols as a guard. Lungs full of fresh, jungle air, he surged forward with new life. His claws easily navigated the rough terrain and he leaped over the log at full speed. The trouble came when some of the bushes caught his legs on occasion, his size proving to be a problem. Still, it was nothing a pull of strength couldn't fix. With a deep rumble of happiness for the lovely Eikask, he was off and charging through the trees once more.
Roivao looked relieved and smiled tentatively at Eikane and the others. With Tiida gone, he was feeling a bit more free to move as he pleased. He eased over to the bed and sat, humming softly in greeting. It was so kind of her to offer him a place. He smiled at the other males too and relaxed visibly. True, they were all rivals, but he rather liked this more laid back way of a chase. So long as Eikane was pleased, then he was happy.

Eikask had probably had her male chosen ages ago. Still, the gold liked to think of herself as fair so she'd let them vy for her attention the old fashioned way. It really only made her choice clearer for her. All three of her bronze were magnificent beasts. She'd chosen two of them before and the other was her son, so that was only natural. The gold slowed and invited her males closer. If she was feeling tired then her males must be more so than her. Besides, pitting them against each other futilely any further was just plain cruel. The gold, as her males came closer, weaved among them, brushing against their hides and making sure they knew she liked them all.
Roisk was the first that she mentally brushed away. He'd been fairly good in singlemindedly chasing her but he was tainted by a green. Usually that would make her want to reclaim him, to chase off the other female, but no. That was not what she wanted this time. His determination also paled in comparison to Darmosk's. So no, she would not be picking her previous mate again. Considering who she was, it oughtn't come as a surprise that she would choose to bounce between males. With Roisk out of the way the gold looked at the other two bronzes.
Darmosk had done well for her and had even brought her a gift but he wasn't a proven mate. She approached him and gently rejected him, though she did claim a desire for the flower. A token of how well he'd impressed her. When she was done with him, though, she turned to Pidesk and crooned. He'd been her choice pretty much since His had comforted Hers, since he'd offered to return her wayward brother and then followed after her when she'd snapped at him. He was a good father, too, despite being a domestic. She loved her babies by him just as much as any of her other babies. Yes, Pidesk would do. She could remind him why she was so much better than Cerysk at the same time, which was a nice bonus.
Eikane meant to tease and flirt with his males more than he had, really, but then Eikask was making her choice and he had no real desire to go agaisnt it. His gaze slid over Roivao. He'd gotten rid of the parasite much too late for his liking. Darmori was given a soft caress in farewell before Eikane turned to Piden. He could soothe away those pains. He wasn't sure where they were or even what they were but information filtered through the bond as he reached to once against claim Piden's lips.
