Ioth was faintly amused as the green he was chasing passed through the trees between him and Azrath and into a tunnel. The blue knew those tunnels. All of them. He turned sharply and aimed for a different one. They all ended up at the same place anyways. The blue burst out of the tunnel into the weyrbowl and made a direct pass by Eveyth with an almost playful croon. He'd found her, after all. Round two of hide and seek (but not really, 'cause it really was quit obvious where she'd ended up) when she exited from a second tunnel.
The blue could have gone out a different tunnel than her but he didn't. There was some flattery in mimicry. He wound through the tunnel with the ease that usually belonged only to the greens, watching the hatchling blue who'd beaten him into both tunnels. Interesting. Then it was an upward chase and Ioth knew it would be soon. Eveyth herself said as much. The hatchling knew it as well and...not so interesting. The violet in Ioth's eyes started shading closer to a dangerous red as he watched Arhenaiyth's attempts to take Eveyth.
The blue was not usually a force-catcher. If he was particularly frustrated or it was for the best than he would. Could. Many of the greens he chased were far younger than him, far less experienced in the air. Ioth did not brag but he knew he could snatch most of them out of the air if he wanted to. At that moment, taking Eveyth was looking rather tempting rather than let the foolish blue try. He found himself rising almost dangerously fast, most of his energy having been conserved for the inevitable upward climb.
Then his gaze caught on a flash of bronze and Ioth relaxed, if only minimally. Mavenath was in a fairly good position, actually, and the blue could tolerate that one. A moment later proved the blue would have more than tolerated the bronze as Mavenath went for Arhenaiyth and not Eveyth herself. An unexpected move but quite welcome all the same. Ioth twisted around them and cleverly maneouvered himself so he was nearly flush against Eveyth's back, wings beating at the same pace. His wings burned from the efforts of the chase and he crooned, low and sweet. He was right there if she wanted him.
Iskierka shifted slightly, almost as if to get up before she quite seriously looked X'rx in the eyes. She knew she was parroting Ioth's earlier words to Eveyth when she said, "If you seriously mean that..." Then she settled her weight properly on the bed again and shrugged. If he honestly said no to her the bluerider would be very surprised. He'd been flirting with her since before Eveyth was proddy and while it probably meant nothing more than he found her attractive it meant she was welcome.
Iskierka ignored the flirting going on because, really, it was pretty standard fare for a flight. That was until X'rx plopped himself right into her lap and she snorted. The bluerider only shook her head at X'rx's smile though she didn't try to dislodge him. The bluerider's eyes did narrow when T'ri came forward and started straddling X'rx. Not happening. She was not going to have two kids start necking in her lap (nevermind that X'rx really wasn't a kid any longer). The bluerider shifted back slightly and one arm came around X'rx's body to block the grabby hands. "Back off," she snapped, eyes rolling.

Suddenly, a flash of blue caught Jeth’s eye and he fanned his wings out, skidding to a stop in mid air. His eyes followed the path of the blue flash, believing that the one he had been following had turned, meaning that the object of his affection had also turned. Well, Jeth was half right. It wasn’t Azrath who had turned, but Ioth. He was in far too much of a state to recognize the difference in the shade of blue between the two dragons. All blue was melting into one unpleasant blob.
An opponent.
Whirling around without a second thought, Jeth took off in the other direction, gathering his nerves when the blue disappeared and crashing down through the canopy. Amazingly, the dark dragon managed to miss hurtling headlong into any branches as he followed behind Azrath, not wishing just yet to pass the other blue. He was fairly certain that Eveyth wouldn’t choose until she got out in the open. With that in mind, the large blue followed Azrath through the tunnel, upset when they weren’t the first ones back out into the open air.
Up, up, up, Jeth flew, his wings outstretched, body spiraling gracefully as he headed into the air. He noticed the hatchling’s attempt on Eve and growled softly, making to head straight forward them, not to force catch Eveyth, but to trap Arhenaiyth in powerful claws. Fortunately, the bronze was faster and Jeth slammed on the breaks. Instead, he tossed the hatchling a slightly crimson look and trilled, delighted. Following Azrath’s path, he spiraled again, ending up on his back beneath Eveyth for a split second, long enough to brush his claws against her belly in a move similar to the one she performed on him earlier. Tail would attempt to twine with her’s briefly before he disengaged, flying in tight circles around the green, body still spinning gracefully as he circled her, brushing her with a talon here, a wingtip there, even trailing his tail along her scales briefly.
A soft croon left L’am’s throat as X’rx pulled him closer. Eyes glazed over with lust and the man seemed to forget any misgivings he had before this. He had completely given himself over to his dragon’s mind, and was loving every bit of it. He felt the bed against him and was about to lean into the green more fully when T’ri suddenly shoved his way between them. Confused and slightly lusty, L’am settled back on his heels on the bed, regarding the situation for a moment before letting out a soft growl. He would attempt to take advantage of Darya’s movements for a moment, trying to shoulder his way between T’ri and X’rx with a loving croon. If he had been able to get between the blue and the green, he would attempt to press his body into the green’s, crooning happily and nuzzling the man’s neck tenderly.

Azrath made a small sound of appreciation for Eveyth’s quickness that was probably lost in the thunder of wings as the chasers turned after the agile green. Azrath sent himself shooting upward, out of the trees in another shower of leaves and flipped his entire body over backwards, leaving him facing the right way, but upside down until he pulled in his wings a little and rolled, divesting another few branches of their latest growth. He had at least lost little speed, if some dignity, but now he was free to pick it back up again and he did, pushing himself for more speed now that he wasn’t likely to crash headlong into a tree. The young blue was going all out, hard on the green’s tail. Azrath lifted his lip in contempt for the baby. The point was to be acknowledged as the best, to be chosen, not to be exhausted before the flight was over.
The other males were more or less ignored, they weren’t being foolish. Well, Mavenath probably would be in the end, but that was a passing thought and there was still plenty of chase to go. The blue drifted down the tunnel into the Weyr, more alert for anyone trying to get past him than for Eveyth at this point, there was only one place she could go from here. Azrath whipped around the bowl in tighter loop than the green’s playful one and shot after her like an arrow, yes he could have taken a less crowded route, but he didn’t want to have to look for Eveyth when they reached the open sky. Not if meant losing to an impatient male who wouldn’t wait for her choice.
As he emerged from the hidden Weyr Azrath felt a powerful distaste for the young blue ahead of him, not just foolish or rude or impatient, but all three and persistently so. Well maybe he’d give the baby something to teach him better manners… However even as Azrath, and he noted the other blues as well, closed in on the harrying young dragon there was a shadow above, and a blur of bronze hide. To Azrath’s surprise, and definite appreciation, Mavenath’s capture was not of Eveyth, but of the weyrling. The dark blue flashed a thought of amused appreciation at the larger dragon before returning his attention to important matters and catching a thermal the lifted him effortlessly toward Eveyth.
Adroitly Azrath pulled one of his favourite tricks and allowed the thermal to assist him in rolling underneath Eveyth, where he hovered, upside down, for a few moments before he dropped away and righted himself. Beyond that Azrath let the air itself do most of the work for him, dipping elegantly between the streams of rising air and letting them raise him high to dance around Eveyth, adding himself to the pattern around her.
Darya cocked her head to one side and gave a crooked smile before striding confidently through the door with more of a sway than normal to her gait. ‘Are you sure you don’t have enough company?’ she inquired lightly, pausing to drop her riding gear over a chair though her eyes, burning ice beneath half closed lids, were fixed on the greenrider. A growl of annoyance rose from the woman’s throat as T’ri clambered onto the bed and over X’rx, a sound born of Azrath’s dislike and her own irritation. Silly boy blue.
Her own approach was more restrained, a light ghosting of fingertips over exposed skin to let the greenrider know of her presence and a perch on a little free space on the occupied bed, her body fully orientated on X’rx. Without thought a finger reached out to prod T’ri in the ribs. ‘Impatient baby.’ She scolded, setting her blue’s thought’s to her own scornful tone.

The little weyrling was annoying her. It wasn't so much that he'd attempted to force-catch her. He likely assumed - and rightly - that his chances were low if he didn't try. No, it was that he kept trying again and again as she neatly evaded him each time. This was not very fun for her. Eveyth wanted to dance with all her blues, not simply dodge a clumsy speedster of a youngling. She was just thinking about actually using her claws on him when Mavenath's single word entered her head. Yes. That she could do. The affirmative was silent as she rolled away as her brother directed, trusting him not to go for her...though if he did she still preferred him to this little upstart.
The bronze received a thankful croon from her (even if she'd been upset at him moments ago, Eveyth wasn't one to hold a grudge simply because she could) before she found herself sandwiched between Ioth and Jeth. Normally she might not mind it so much, but right after the weyrling's little display the last thing she wanted was to be tightly crowded. Nevertheless, she spun neatly within the little column they left her and banked out of it abruptly, trailing her tail along both males alternately as she went. They were about equal to Eveyth, and Hers favored Ioth.
Indeed, X'rx very much favored Iskierka right now. Her semi-protective stance that was good in keeping T'ri from completely rubbing all up over him and grabbing whatever might be in reach was something he quite appreciated. Yes, even as he bit down hard on T'ri's lip, drawing blood. The taste was mildly intoxicating. The weyrling attempting to straddle him...not so much. Then L'am was pressing forward, too, and X'rx was beginning to feel quite claustrophobic. He snuggled back against Iskierka more because her arms represented safety (she wasn't trying to eat him alive, after all) when he felt the ghost of fingers over his skin.
Eveyth's choice, sadly, was not one that took her any real effort to make. There was only one dragon who hadn't annoyed her by his possessiveness and had actually done what she asked, which was to play with her, to dance with her in the skies, even. And she coiled around him before brushing his mind in invitation. Her Azrath. An old favorite, and a male who knew not to crowd a green.
X'rx spared a kiss of thanks for Iskierka, brushing lips lightly over her cheek, but then he wriggled away from her and the others and half-flung himself at Darya with a warning half-glare back at L'am and T'ri. "You can stay, but only if you behave." A moment's hesitation, then he glanced at Iskierka, raising a brow in silent invitation, though he didn't voice it aloud just in case she chose to decline. He appreciated her presence here this Flight, and had never had any problems with sharing. Even with L'am and T'ri if they'd just wait their turn and not be so pushy. Not that he was telling them that right now.

Ioth knew it was his loss even before Eveyth moved to Azrath. Slipping out of the pocket he and Jeth had ended up creating was more than enough to tell him he wasn't the one she wanted. The tail brush as as good as a dismissal. With a faint keen he doubted the green even heard, the blue rose a little higher before flipping over backwards and snapping his wings shut. He twisted and flared his wings enough to slow his descent as he approached the tops of the trees. Just enough so he could actually crash through the trees and speed through the tunnel waiting there.
Iskierka's look was probably pretty priceless when L'am also chose to press forward. Just this sort of deadpan expression sprinkled with disapproval. She was not the most physically strong of people and the increasing weight on her was beginning to get tiresome, to say the least. Then X'rx was positively snuggling into her and she was half tempted to gag in response (because no matter how fond of the greenrider she secretly was, she was not a cuddly person in general. Far too saccharine for her tastes.).
Then X'rx kissed her on the cheek at the same time Ioth's pain of rejection pulsed across the bond. It caught her off guard - she really hadn't been paying much attention to the dragon's end of things - and her breath left her in an almost-gasp of surprise. She clamped down on the bond just as X'rx began wiggling his way out of her lap and she shifted to not only accomodate his escape but shove back at the blueriders far too close to her for their own safety.
She couldn't say she was surprised at X'rx's invitation. She also couldn't say she wasn't tempted by the offer. Unfortunately she cared for Ioth a lot more than their one-sided bond might suggest and her blue, her one true life-mate was in considerable emotional pain. Iskierka briefly shook her head once in the negative as she rose from the bed. She snagged a few cookies before she headed out of the weyr. Maybe after she cheered Ioth up some she'd go visit Sel'n. He could be surprisingly good company, not that she'd ever admit it.

Another dragon might have roared in surprise or anger, might have fought back, might have been angry. Well, Arhenaiyth was angry, no doubt about that, but in the kind of muted, annoyed way that all of his emotions seemed to come in. Yes, he was mad at Mavenath, but more because the Bronze had actually done exactly what Eveyth seemed to be trying to avoid - he'd made her decision for her, at least part of it - and no one seemed to care. Hypocrites. Not that the Blue would have abided by any choices she made without a fight, but whatever. It was the hypocrisy that got to him. At least he was straightforward in his desire to not screw around.
Twisting his head and neck back, Arhenaiyth took a snap at the bronze forearm holding him, aiming a precise bite at Mavenath's forelimb. It was meant to hurt - big dumb bronze deserved it - but while Arhenaiyth certainly didn't care if he accidentally maimed his captor, he wasn't trying to. With a snarky Way to live up to your classy reputation, Bronze, thinking it's all about you even after she told you to go,[/i] Arhenaiyth executed a tight twist, ripping himself free of Mavenath's talons with or without injury. With the very last of the speed in his wings, the Blue made a final circle, tucking himself tight to drop down on to Eveyth and Azrath from above. This time he pulled up on purpose, redirecting his flight path around the twining dragons. Drawling Typical,[/i] (as if he would know what typical was), he tucked his wings again, falling away from the pair with a parting shot to Eveyth: When you're done being boring, let me know.[/i] She was officially no longer worth his time or attention.
Impatient? Sure. T'ri always had been impatient. K'sel was the one that sat around dithering about everything all the time, T'ri acted (or complained loudly). And in this case, acting and ignoring seemed to have worked excellently. He got a kiss, and a bite, which normally would have put T'ri off but in this case absolutely did not. Unfortunately, that was approximately when Eveyth made her choice and X'rx and Iskierka fled, leaving T'ri on the bed with L'am. Had the Bronze's rider been present, T'ri might have gone for him, but he wasn't. As Arhenaiyth shoved his residual lust off in to T'ri's brain (T'ri was equipped to do something about it, after all, and something had to be done), the Blueweyrling turned on L'am. Suddenly seductive - the rider knew how to seduce even if he didn't often, where the dragon would never bother - he slid a hand around L'am's waist and pulled him close, ignoring his split and bruised lip to kiss the older rider's neck. Never let it be said that T'ri wasn't a sore loser - he was absolutely ready to prove that X'rx had made the wrong choice.
