It was a chilly day for a Tithe Train to be travelling. There was a stiff breeze blowing and the lightly grey clouds obscured the southern sun. Caremon was greatful for such ill weather though. Bandits were unlikely to bother on such days unless they were really desperate. Sufficiently organized bands were smart enough to wait for a more favourable day to attack. The guard stayed alert all the same. He was paid a good amount of marks to make sure the stupid weyr got their stupid supplies and he'd see it through to the end.
Caremon had no reason to expect what happened next. Never before had he heard of dragonriders stealing from tithe trains! He stared with fearful shock at the eight dragons that swooped in from who knows where and surrounded the train. "Damn it all!" He shouted, regaining his composure as the riders of the dragons began to dismount. He drew his weapon and took a defensive stance but before too long the female rider of a blue dragon had disarmed him and held a blade to his throat. "Easy now and no one needs to get hurt," she told him simply. There was no malice in her words but neither was there any sympathy.
To her little team - it was still a surprising thought that she'd be put in charge of anyone. She found herself wondering if Meira hadn't had a hand in it to prove her point - she yelled, "Find the guards and disarm them." First things first, they had to remove any potential threats. After that they could focus on stripping the train (and thus Selenitas Weyr) of provisions that they would need to stay alive. To a person as selfish as Iskierka, it didn't bother her in the least to steal under such circumstance. For others, though, it might be a different story. Tough luck, kiddies.
Iskierka spared a glance for the members of both teams to check on their status with the meager guards. So far so good. Unfortunately, that might well be the easiest part in the event of a sweep spotting them and alerting Selenitas. May I make a suggestion? Keep an eye on the skies and be ready to take off, just in case, Ioth addressed Onyth, Viveth, and Weith. He took his own advice but not before looking over at Salenth's team with the bronze himself, Chaoth, Azrath, and Rajnith. The blue rather hoped none of them would have any problems as he fidgeted about.
Back at Burimyu Weyr, Jazheera and Nephele waited for the dragons to begin arriving so they could unload them, under the direction of M'kai. It was rather suspenseful simply waiting for the others to arrive, Nephele decided as her firelizards alternatively flew around her or perched on her shoulders. Jazz was bouncing slightly on her feet, soemthing that made Tod bounce around on her head, seemingly giggling like a baby.
((Only those mentioned to be part of the eight dragonriders stealing from the train are welcome there, though any are welcome to help out at the Weyr. Watch for Requiem and Ruby's posts as well as my own. Have fun!))

Onyth sped towards the train with the rest, falling into formation and very reluctantly back winging to a landing when they were directed. The dark green would rather be in the air. Snorting she bared her teeth at the humans as hers dismounted.
If Iskierka was cold to the people of the train Elysia was like ice. Disabling her target with ease she put a knee into his midsection, throwing him to the ground once he toppled over. There was no trace of pity in her dark eyes. In fact there was little readable emotion at all as she stared down at her target. “Don’t move.” Disarming the guard thoroughly the greenrider pocketed his weapons and merely kept a eye on him, smiling sweetly. Encouraging him to make a swing at her in fact. Poor baby. There was a large part of Elysia that was upset that he didn’t fight back. He hadn’t even tried to make it amusing. Pity.
Onyth rustled her wings and gave a brush of acknowledgement to Ioth’s mind. Understood. The green kept the response simple. Her gaze returned to the sky, as her wings remained partially unfurled for an easier take off. The dark female was keeping a careful mental watch on her bonded however.
The woman had been off. Terribly off kilter emotionally for awhile now and it wasn’t getting better. Outwards to the others there wasn’t much of a change. Elysia had already been keeping herself aloof after all. Except now it was worse. Inwardly the woman was…well it was a different story altogether. Fortunately this was work. Elysia did not screw up work. The need to follow orders to perfection was far to deeply ingrained in her. Still Onyth was…uneasy.

S'rei hung back with Salenth, letting the women and children take care of the guards. Strange as the situation felt. He'd gone without the sling for his arm, not because it was completely healed - much to the contrary, he barely had any use of it - but instead to give no one an obvious target. These guards were of no consequence. It was the potential of sweepriders and more that concerned him.
We're exposed. True. The darkened nature of the skies would not keep them concealed if someone flew over. Let's start loading the first while we look for a blind. If you have any pets, send them to find a place large enough for one or more dragons in the nearby jungle. We are too obvious from above.
The bronzerider strode for the train, eyes sweeping the riders to make sure none were having problems. "Check the traders and drovers, too. Don't need would-be heroes. Darya." He tossed the woman the rope coiled around his shoulder until just a moment ago. "See that the guards are bound securely." It was better not to trust in a person's good sense, even when it related to self-preservation; sense was not a common commodity.
His eyes flicked toward Iskierka. "If you'll keep a watch?" The man beckoned to Tenlie. "Give me a general inventory of what each wagon holds. We may not have the luxury of much time here." That left Merridan. "Chaoth will go first. Let's get the traders to help load." He gestured for the girl to accompany him and moved down the line of the train to collect the extra hands. Iskierka and hers - with Darya - should be enough to keep things contained.

With the ease of grown practice, Chaoth circled down to land. Merridan was sliding free of her straps almost before he hit the ground. Using her dragon's large size to her advantage, Mer leaped onto one of the wagons. From there, she slammed into the back of one of the guards, bearing him to the ground. Before he could try to fight her off, Mer's knife was out and gleaming near his neck. "Let's not be hasty," she chided, quickly relieving him of his own weapon. She let him get up slowly and lead him to the to stand with the others so Darya could restrain them.
Merridan's face was determined, if not entirely pleased by the enterprise. It wasn't so much the stealing. These tithe goods were as much theirs as they were Selenitas' and she was sure the friends she's left behind wouldn't mind the donation. All the sneaking and hiding, however, was starting to grate on her nerves. Mer was not used to having to sit still for quite so long. Being chosen to come on this mission had been a welcome piece of excitement, but the least the guards could do was make a better effort.
Mer nodded at S'rei's order, falling into easy steps behind him. Remember, she bespoke her dragon firmly. We need speed. Don't let them overload you. Chaoth's eyes swirled with amusement as he watched the sky. His body hunched low to make loading easier, but his muscles tensed with urgency. Worry not, he assured her. I know my limits. True enough, Mer knew. Chaoth was large, matching even some bronzes, and he was strong. He'd be able to carry quite a bit before slowing down.
Merridan started to check the wagon hands for weapons. They wanted no surprises. The quicker they got the supplies out of here, the better. Vikky and Auran were already searching the jungle methodically, one on each side. Auran she could always trust, but she was pleased that even Vikky was taking the job seriously. It looked like the time spent trying to train her was working. With luck, either they or one of the other pets would find a good place before too long.

Interesting, M'kai thought at Futh, scanning the wax tablet the Council had given him one more time before tucking it under his arm. Interesting indeed,[/i] Futh agreed, from the ledge directly below the one M'kai stood on. Not as surprising as you make it sound, though, MineLove,[/i] he added. I suppose we were Weyrlingmasters after all, but why not Ka'rys? E'rro? Meira? I can't believe they're too busy for something like this. Futh shrugged physically and mentally, hunkering down on his perch a little more. Whatever the Council was thinking, it didn't matter, in Futh's mind. They had been Weyrlingmasters, after all; was it so shocking that the Council might see their worth in that, putting them above younger, unproven browns and bronzes?
No matter, especially not now. M'kai surveyed his team, eyes skipping past Nephele perhaps slightly faster than the others. The flight wasn't important now. As M'kai looked over his selections, Kami cooed gently from his shoulder, preening long red hair and looking distinctly more terrifying than a two month old bird had any right to look. Consulting the tablet again before he tucked it behind his back, M'kai nodded. "Alright. You all know why we're here - as soon as a dragon comes in, we remove supplies as fast as we can, then send them on their way. The Rider shouldn't even have to dismount. Nephele, since you're the only healer apprentice here at the moment, I'm putting you in charge if someone comes in injured. No one should, but you never know. T'mund..." M'kai eyed the recently graduated Weyrling, considering giving him a special duty, then changed his mind. "Never mind."
With a mental brush for Futh, who would be the first to know when a new dragon came in, M'kai strode to the ledge. "Alight, half of you on the left side of the room, half on the right. Please try not to get in each other's way. Once the dragon leaves, we'll sort if we have time. And remember, I need you all to move. We want to be in and out as fast as possible, so we can get our riders home before sweepriders catch them. Understood?"
((Feel free to throw any Buri folk on to M'kai's team! For my own reference, so far we have: Nephele, Jazzheera, T'mund))

Tenlie was literally shaking as Rajnith came in from between and landed where S'rei and Salenth had instructed. She had absolutely no idea why she'd been selected for this, although Rajnith had large wings and was a fairly strong flier. When she went to M'kai with he reservations, he'd simply given her a knife, told her to watch out for herself, and sent her on her way. So useful.
The knife was sheathed at her belt, now, but as soon as Rajnith touched down she drew it, holding it awkwardly. A half-agile slide off her Green left her within a stride or two of one of the guards - thank Faranth they were shocked, or Ten never would have had a chance. As it was the man struggled more than she would have liked, clearly looking for escape although she'd managed to pivot behind him and get a knife to his throat before he fully realized what was going on. "On the floor?" she asked, failing to keep a tremor out of her voice.
Luckily, a little pressure from the knife got the man to behave, and Darya was quickly at her side to bind him up. Absolutely thrilled to give up her charge, Ten bolted to the wagons as S'rei requested, peering under the first tarp she found. "Food here, fruit and vegetables, no in bags," she called, before moving on to the second wagon. This one turned out to be far better for strapping adragonback, but it was all wrapped in brown paper. Vaulting into one of the wagons, she ripped back a corner of the paper, jabbing at what was inside. "Silk," she said, a touch of annoyance in her voice. Silk, really? In the back half, though... "An' breads an' preserved meats an' spices, in packages." S'rei could get started with those while she took a look at the rest. Big Brother and Cujo followed Vikky and Auran into the forest, albeit reluctantly, to search for clearings.

On cue, Weith backwinged an dlanded, dipping quickly to allow R'men to slide off. Iskierka made the first move and while the other guards were equally disarmed, R'men made his move.
His little practice sessions were beginning to show, though only a small bit. His guard seemed new and was distracted by the comotion enough for the bronzer to knee him and kick his feet from under him. The guard fell and the man stradled him, holding his own weapon to the guard's neck. "Stuggle and die," he said calmly. This wasn't the man's way; this stealing and threatening lives. A pacifist? No, but it felt like cold-blood to him and he didn't like it; that and at the moment he had the award for smallest knife.
Looking up to observe the area, he felt a pang of regret and a bit of pain. He'd been a caravaneer once. He understood the fear of being attacked by bandits and ruffians; he read the fear in the eyes and faces of the others. Why had he been chosen to do this? Once ridden of their goods, the group would be able to travel faster to Selenitas and alert them. If this was going to be the first of a string, it would be the easiest. Dragonspeed, he mentally wished them, seeing no familiar faces from turns back.
I will be watching the skies, as Ioth has suggested, the bronze conveyed to His; a bit of frustrasion laced his Weith's voice, he should be leading this, not the blue. In the event we get spotted by a sweep, we need to be ready to fly.[/i] A whirling orange eye to match his hide eyed R'men and his position on the guard. The others would be able to get away from their prey easier than he could! With a snort he began to watch the sky warily, anxious of its potential.

It was fair to say that Darya was enjoying herself, in fact Azrath was convinced that his rider was a suppressed action junkie, the blue could feel excitement bubbling away under the calm surface she presented to the world as she moved methodically among the captive guards, tying the light ropes unmercifully tight. It was that much harder for a man to escape his bonds if his hands were going numb, and Darya didn’t intend to let any of them escape to play the hero, or the heroic fool as it may be.
Azrath watched the restrained guards carefully, standing half crouched with his wings half spread, clearly ready to move very fast in any direction he might be required to. Sending Bit out to look for a hiding place. He informed his rider tersely as the green firelizard took off from her perch on the blues head. Darya acknowledged him with a nod, which the dragon didn’t really see but he felt the agreement nonetheless. Darya was glad Vrae wasn’t here, she thought she’d managed to impress upon the avain why she was leaving him and that she would be back soon, but she was never quite sure with him, although he clearly was bonded to her it wasn’t at all on the same level as even a firelizard, and she had no idea how much the razorclaws even understood… With one sharp shake of her head Darya dismissed the irrelevant thoughts and focused on the task at hand. One thing at a time that was the way.

Iskierka felt edgy underneath the open sky. What she wouldn't give for some proper cover while doing this...All the same, the woman dragged her captive along with her to check the traders and drovers as instructed. She'd hand the man off once she got the chance but for the time being she was stuck making sure he didn't do anything stupid. A sneer was given to the resentful looks of the traders. Hah! They could hate dragonriders all they wanted; they'd just take what they needed regardless.
She wasn't the only one concerned by the lack of cover. She hadn't brough Gawain with her though. The avian might not have been smart enough to find a place and tell her about it though. Indeed, the creatures couldn't talk. Bah. There were plenty of others with pets. Even as Iskierka handed off her guard to Darya to tie up (though she remained to make sure he really was tied up) someone's pet returned, hopefully with good news.
Watch duty, when nothing was going on, was decidedly boring. Still, she was perfect at following orders so she'd do as told. It let her watch everything that was going on as well. Like the status of Merridan and Chaoth. In what seemed like no time at all, the brown was loaded up and ready to go. That would be at least one dragon load down.
----
Among the helpers back at Burimyu there were bobbing heads at M'kai's instructions. At least one of them was hesitant though. Nephele was learning dragonhealing though...Sure a good deal of it was transferable to normal healing but a Junior Apprentice was hardly capable of treating much of anything on their own, in her opinion. In the worst case scenario she could just send a firelizard to the infirmary. Besides, as M'kai said, no one should be coming in injured. Nephele and Jazz moved over to the right as they awaited the first to arrive.

S'rei was quick to grab three of the more frightened looking drovers who seemed like they could lift a load. Confident that his presence alone would keep them in line, even though Merridan wasn't terribly large, they were quickly off-loading the second wagon Tenlie had pointed out. Bread, meat and spices...that should carry them over for awhile. The silk too could be used if they had the time. Food first.
Making sure the load was strapped tight, he gave the go-ahead to Merridan. The bronzerider turned back to glance at Iskierka. Seemed everything was under control. "Darya." He beckoned. Time for Salenth to go. There had been a momentary internal debate about that, but everything was in order now, Tenlie was almost finished with her inventory and Salenth could carry a lot more than the other two members of his team.
In short order Salenth, too, was loaded with foodstuffs with the help of Darya and the three drovers. One more glance around, and he swung up onto the bronze's neck. "Azrath next. Keep an eye on Tenlie, hm?" And then Salenth leapt, winking Between without ever clearing the treeline. He came out of Between and landed not far from Chaoth.
**
It started with a boy. The teenager was hiding in one of the wagons, terrified, the beltknife he'd never really had to use apart from cutting a rope here or there clutched tightly in his hand. When Tenlie came to peek into the back of the wagon, he didn't see a woman nearly as nervous as he was. She was the enemy and he lashed out at her blindly, terrified for his life.
The sudden commotion coming just after Salenth disappeared triggered one of the three drovers with Darya to toss the barrel he'd been carrying at her back. There followed a chain reaction of struggle here and there in an attempt to take advantage of the moment.
(Have fun with NPC's xP)

"This 'un looks to be healer's supplies," she called back, dropping the tarp on the third to last wagon. Most of the tithe string seemed to be useful - packaged, preserved foods and other foodstuffs that would last, like grains; a whole wagon full of various tools, half of which she didn't recognize; stacks of wood that looked to be from Southern and Lighttower; and even some good glass sand, along with coal, firestone, and metals that had to be from Hyphen. With the healer's supplies here, she couldn't think of much else they could need (except maybe some better furniture).
Only two wagons to go, thank Faranth. Rajnith was too nervous to say a word - she didn't like this at all, and it was only Ten's safety that kept her from throwing a full-out tantrum. She did, however, hear what S'rei had to say to Darya - the big-winged green could carry more than it looked like she could, she'd be loaded soon - and did not appreciate it. Salenth's thinks poorly of you,[/i] she snarled, shooting a death glare and the Bronze's retreating backside. You shall prove him wrong, my love, or I shall... I shall send Kierjaarth after him. She had had to rifle through Ten's memories for that name - she knew she had a mate, and that he was bronze, but she hadn't seen him in ever so long. Rajnith's memory had never been impressive, unless she was slighted.
Ten's eyes got wide and her shoulders squared, her mouth setting itself in a determined line. She wouldn't be an embarrassment, she'd prove herself; shards, E'iah couldn't be doing much better, he was her classmate and Viveth would be out of his mind. It was just because she was a girl. Well, that was just idiotic. She could do her job just as well as anyone else here -
The attack came out of nowhere. Ten just barely had time to register the boy's presence before he was on her, and only good instincts had her reaching for the hand that held the belt kinfe, earning herself a slash on her forearm. She fumbled her own knife out of its sheath left handed, clearing it just before the boy's weight knocked both of them out of the wagon and backwards onto the ground, sending the breath wooshing out of Ten's lungs.
--
Chaoth! Futh called, echoed momentarily by M'kai. "Chaoth's coming in. To the sides of the room, everyone, please..." The words were barely out of his mouth when the brown swept in, hopefully backwinging carefully enough that no one was bowled over. As soon as the Brown had stopped moving forward, M'kai shouted "GO!" suiting actions to words as he bolted forward, extracting the packages of food and items as fast as he could. As the first was untied, he hefted it back towards someone at the back of the room, who caught it deftly and piled it off to one side. As his fingers struggled with the second package, he glanced up at Merridan, his erstwhile classmate. "Everything all right so far?" he asked, hoping for a positive answer.
Within moments Chaoth's load was removed, and the Brown was ready to head out again. At that exact moment, Futh's voice floated in again, calling, Salenth! "Salenth!" M'kai growled, waving Chaoth out as the Bronze came in for a landing. "Not fast enough!" he added to his crew. "Pick it up, please."

Elysia was growing increasingly….irritated. Current events where doing nothing to dampen or temper her mood either. With the traders all bound she ended up watching them carefully, every so often glancing back at the babies that made up their team. With a barely suppressed sigh she shoved at R’men’s shoulder. “Don’t just stand around like an idiot bronzie. Weith is the largest dragon on our team no? Get your ass in gear and start loading him down instead of standing around like a damn moron.” Yes the boy was a full rider now, and thus technically ranked her, but he wasn’t taking initiative on his own was he? Certainly not, and that was just annoying. Elysia hated bronzers on principal. Lazy or stupid ones just got more of her ire. Right now she was classifying R’men as the latter.
The benden woman might have actually tailed the bronzerider to make sure he obeyed if not for the commotion that erupted somewhere to the left. Oh for Faranth’s sake. Still it was more action than she was getting. As curious as she was to see how Tenlie would handle herself they didn’t need anymore injuries. With a quick command to Onyth Elysia uncoiled her whip and made for the scene just as the two tumbled out of the wagon. Without waiting for the boy to attempt another stab at the young greenrider the woman struck out with the whip, the weapon curling about the boy’s throat. Pulling it tight she jerked him backwards off of Tenlie catching the girls gaze as she did so. “Get up. You’re fine.” The words, though firm, where not necessarily unkind. Couldn’t coddle her but yelling at her wouldn’t help either.
Not waiting for an answer from her fellow Burimyu rider Elysia kicked at the boy’s wrist, sending his weapon flying. Tightening her grip on the whip, she looped it around again to further strangle him. “Hands on your head where I can see them.” Putting a boot to his back she forced the boy to the ground. “I’d behave now if I where you. I’m not a nice lady. You’re lucky the shiny ones would be displeased if I bled you out. Now be a good boy and I won’t have to hurt you further.” Eyes briefly flicking upwards she snorted at the miniature revolt the boy had started. Returning her gaze to the boy on the ground in front of her she spoke briefly to Tenlie. “Bind him and stay close just in case someone else decides to play the fool.”
Onyth in turn stepped forward towards the three drovers, head slung low and teeth bared. The one who threw the barrel was given an especially cold look. It was he who she bespoke. I suggest you think twice before continuing your little revolt. Unless you would like me to bite you in half? The words where uttered in a cloyingly sweet tone as the dark female half lidded her eyes and slowly circled the men. If one of them made a break back for the caravan she planned to simply pin them. But they didn’t need to know that. Azrath. Is yours okay?

Merridan watched the helpers with a suspicious eye. They were quick, she could give them that, but she wanted no surprises near her dragon. Not that these people could probably do much to a dragon. They hadn't exactly been expected bandits with mounts this big after all. Still, it couldn't hurt to be extra careful. The faster they had the supplies loaded and back to Burimyu, the better Mer would feel. Once the last of the load was secure, Mer climbed nimbly to Chaoth's shoulders and nodded to S'rei that they were ready.
Strong legs launched the brown nearly straight up into the air. With a few flaps, they rose higher and blinked into the cold of between. Part of Mer itched to be leaving first. She knew it was important that the larger dragons carry most of the loads, but she still didn't like leaving. For all she knew, something could happen while she was busy getting the food off her dragon.
Patience, Merridan, Chaoth purred assurances as the emerged over Burimyu. Will will return. Not soon enough for me, she returned anxiously. Chaoth swooped down and came to a fast landing near, dipping his head in greeting to Futh and his team. Mer waved to M'kai as they started unloading. "Smooth flying," she assured him. She reached back to help undo some of the packages. M'kai's team was fast and within moments, they were ready to fly again. With a second wave, Chaoth was in the air again and passing Salenth on his way back. Seconds later, they vanished between again. The sooner they were back, the better.

Viveth shifted uncomfortably as he watched the skies for any potential threats, mumbling to himself about how this was a bad idea and more likely than not a trap of some sort. E'iah on the other hand had pushed the dragon from his mind and was directing his full attention on the guards he had disarming. Why he and Viveth had been picked for the team was beyond him but he was determined to not screw up a good chance when it was presented to him. A commotion tore his gaze away, something was happening to Tenile. But as if the incident brought about a chain reaction, the Bluerider tensed as he saw the muscles of one of the train goers bunch. Dropping what he was holding, E'iah darted over to Darya and grabbed her wrist, wrenching her as hard as he could toward him. He wasn't able to tell whether or not the barrel had still collided with the other rider, but he needed to deal with the man who had thrown it.
Pulling a long knife from his belt, he dodged another item that was thrown at him before dropping down and smashing his foot into the side of the man's knee, dropping him to the ground. He leveled his knife at the man's throat but did no further. "We don't want to hurt you, but if you keep trying to hurt us, we'll have to." A look passed over the Drovers' faces, E'iah guessed a dragon had bespoke them, why else would they have a similar reaction to something that wasn't apparent. He glanced at the others before returning his attention back onto the man he held at knife point. "You okay?" He called back to the Bluerider he'd left to secure the man, hopefully he'd moved her out of the path of most damage. Injuries were something he had been hoping to entirely avoid upon this venture.
Stealing from the Lighttower Tithes didn't sit particularly well with the boy, having been a Holder himself not too long ago, he knew it sometimes pained people to pay this tax. So having it be stolen from them was more likely than not, a terrible feeling. It was also definitely wrong. But because it was this or death, E'iah could force himself to stomach the crimes they were committing a bit better. They needed to survive after all. They needed to eat and replenish their supplies, and they couldn't do it without stealing. But still... he didn't like it. He didn't have to like it, just so long as he actually did it.

Darya was slightly on edge, casting occasional glances up at the sky, what she wouldn’t have given for a nice wooded area and lots of cover, she was really starting to miss that thick canopy over Burimyu right now.
With the last guard, plus a few would be heroes, tied tightly and under the watchful eyes of Iskierka Darya was more than happy to leave the other bluerider with the pleasure of their company, and such spare rope as there was, and join the team loading Salenth down with the most useful contents of the wagons. She suffered no remorse or guilt over the blatant theft, these supplies were for the support of the Weyrs after all, they were just being diverted to somewhere where the need for them was greater. A shame that this would probably cause the invaders at Selenitas to step up their sweeps, and possibly start patrolling the roads, but on the other hand if this lot was properly supplemented it could last out a while.
Darya stepped back as S’rei swung up onto his dragon, and turned to walk off and give the bronze room to get airborne, however at the sound of her name she turned back to look at S’rei as he gave out instructions. Giving a curt nod the bluerider trotted out of the way and gave Azrath a silent prod to take the bronze’s place as the Salenth vanished. ‘Don’t just stand there, get as much of that loaded on him as you can.’ Darya instructed her reluctant team of helpers and glared at them until they moved to obey, then moved to grab a couple of sacks of grain and get them secured to her dragon, speed was important here.
Darya pivoted on her heel as a commotion broke out by the wagons, the bluerider had just started to move toward Tenlie when Azrath flashed a warning to her. Even as she moved someone grabbed her by the wrist and yanked her further to the side. Darya growled a particularly foul curse as the flung cask clipped her side and knocked the breath out of her. Rolling to her feet, breathing deeply and mentally estimating the size of bruise that was going to leave Darya looked at the man who’d flung the barrel at her with murder in her eyes. However, possibly luckily for the man, E’iah was already holding him at knifepoint, and Onyth seemed to be terrorising all of the three drovers impartially.
Sighing Darya placed her fists on her hips, then winced and moved the right one off of her forming bruise. ‘Well my pride certainly needs mouth to mouth, other than that I’ll be fine.’ She replied flatly, ignoring how much of her right side was going to be a multicoloured mess within a few hours. ‘Tenlie! Did that boy mark you?’ The bluerider called out, though she moved for more supplies to load onto Azrath, who hissed spitefully at the captive drovers and snaked his head back and forth.
She assures me she is.[/color] Azrath’s reply to the green was tainted with irony. Now, isn’t it about time you three got on with some work? The blue addressed the men who had been loading him. Unless you have a limb you can spare to me I recommend not throwing anything else. Azrath clashed his jaws together to emphasise his point.

Iskierka watched the goings on from her spot near the captured guards. She saw no need to leave them alone to go help people load their dragons, even if it meant it would take slightly longer. Watching the prisoners was an important job too, anyways. The woman watched as Salenth disappeared to bring his load in before minor chaos broke out. Oh? One of the little kids trying to play the hero? She shook her head at the foolishness.
What did she do about any of it? Nothing. There were at least one or two competent people on the teams that were sent to steal from the train and they could deal with the distrubance. Besides, for the ones just out of weyrlinghood or the ones with little training it was a good chance to learn. Learn or get hurt, such was the way of life. You could practice wielding a blade but only real combat experience counted. She'd just continue to guard the guards. It looked more like the dragons were doing the work of terrorizing the people into submission. Well, the big brutes were good for something more than fetch and carry.
When the silly holdfolk were dealt with the loading continued. Soon enough others were able to go as the previous ones came back. The dragons took turns and things became smoother as it went on. "Looks like the last few loads," Iskierka commented to Ioth, watching over the drovers helping her load the blue while still keeping an eye on the tied up guards. Thank you for your assistance, the blue told the drovers as he was finished loading. Iskierka made sure people who could handle anything were around before having Ioth bring her back to the Weyr.

Nephele and Jazheera were both busy-busy unloading things from the incoming dragons, asking how things were going as they went along. With all going well they were quite happy to get the supplies they so desperately needed. Nephele was glad that there were no injuries that required more knowledge of Healing than she had.
Jazz was a little less happy with things. Hadn't she done good helping Iskierka bring S'rei and Sel'n in? It was a bit unfair that she didn't get to go with the group directly stealing from the trains. Not that she particularly liked stealing (and Dhavalth would have had a fit, she was sure) but it was so booooring staying behind at the Weyr to unload and she'd actually be of more help than soem of her classmates....
((Rushing this along a little~ This is just a short and sweet miniplot, after all.))
